attending and hoping to walk away with some benefit as you guys are aware inshallah ta'ala our discussion today is about the one who killed a hundred human beings he took a hundred lives brothers and sisters is there anyone here that knows someone else who has taken maybe what three lives four is even more rare right five six this man brothers and sisters he took a hundred lives so i'll read the hadith in give a brief translation and then we will derive 15 benefits maybe even a little bit more than that from this hadith of the prophet salallahu there was a man who came before you ali was telling me speaking to his companions a man who came before you sir he took 99 lives this man as you can see brother and sister he's a bloodthirsty barbaric individual after killing 99 human beings he went searching for the most knowledgeable person on the face of this earth for he was directed to a monk he was directed to a monk and he tells the monk that he has taken 99 lives is it possible for me to be forgiven is there any redemption for me the monk said to him no the monk said to him there is no redemption for you he ended up killing him as well he killed the monk the monk was an abid a devout worshiper he continued in his pursuit of redemption is there a possibility for me to be forgiven he was then directed to a person of knowledge and he asked is it possible for me to be forgiven this knowledgeable individual instructs him to leave these lands that he is residing and over there there are individuals there are people they worship worship allah alongside them so he sets off on his journey and subhanallah as he reached from talaqa he reached the mid point between where he left and all the way to the place that is on his way to right the midpoint of that attack the moment arrived for him to depart from this world fact and the angel of adab the angel of punishment and they began to add disputes amongst themselves they began to argue who is entitled to taking his soul the angel of mercy said this individual he was looking for redemption he went towards allah hoping to be forgiven and then you have the angel of al-adap in qatar he never did any good subhanlallah and because of that i am entitled to taking a soul m was in the form of a human being this angel was given the responsibility brothers and sisters to calculate which land he was closer to and inshallah at the end of the lecture i will mention what exactly took place fifteen benefits brothers and sisters i've given this lecture before in green lane misdeed birmingham and i only mention five and i don't like to repeat the same lecture time and time again without mentioning more the first benefit that i would like to stand over is the narrator of the hadith [Music] that there wasn't anyone from the young companions of the messenger that was more knowledgeable than abu at a very very young age he surpassed many of the companions in knowledge i can see a lot of young people here abu s even when you look at those who narrated the most hadith even though he was so young in age he's right up there who was the most knowledgeable and narrated the most hadith 5000 plus embraced ali very late on later than most of the other companions and still surpassed them what does that show you no matter when you actually start seeking knowledge and learning about your religion you can acquire so much knowledge in such a short space of time if allah azzawajal sometimes you look to yourself i'm still a young child and you make 101 excuses for yourself telling yourself i've still so much time ahead of me didn't necessarily have that kind of mindset brothers and sisters also abdullahi abbas who was young in age from amongst [Music] these seven that were mentioned in these two lines of poetry so at a very young age he was so eager to please allah subhanahu wa ta'ala right and even in the battle of uthurt he was brought to the messenger of salah was so eager subhan allah to participate in that battle the battle of which took place in the third year after hijrah let him go back but he was eager he was the one i was telling his parents i want to go i want to participate i want to respond to the call of the messenger at a very young age he wanted to please allah azzawajal and fight besides his prophet benefit number two brothers and sisters and i hope we are all writing it down before i go into the next benefit brothers and sisters there is a chapter in sahih al-bukhari imam bukhari he chaptered it as the chapter of writing now knowledge i'm hoping insha'allah ta'ala that all of you can memorize these 15 points and keep him memorized for a very long time however i don't think anybody here is like the moment he hears something he memorizes it straight away there was a companion brother and sisters called abdullahi he was ahead of abu he used to write down the knowledge and i never used to and because of that he surpassed abu hurayrah a household name and that's of course before the messenger is made and then he became number one the second yeah i get the hint there's a phone huh you know i'll tell you guys something funny right i used to make dua for steve jobs guys know steve jobs up until recently why did i used to make drive him because of these iphones it has made my life so easy when preparing lectures this whole lecture asked the brothers who was sitting in the office i was just on my phone writing everything down i've got books written down on there hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of pdfs that i have used through the phone itself after using the notes app but then i found out that steve jobs died over a decade ago so i stopped making diaphragm because you're not allowed to make dua for a non-muslim right asking allah allah guide him didn't even know that he passed away and that is because of this invention huh there's notes there's even a line of poetry i know i'm just digressing a little bit here the poet he says scrap paper and a pen he writes when he rides and he rides no rights when he walks he writes when he writes and he writes when he walks and because of course we are millennials many of us right young people are millennials i had to tweak that a little bit because people don't carry scrap paper so instead of saying la buddha alibi means i changed it up a little bit and i said yes it is a master that talib he carries with him an ipad just to make it rhyme and make it sound good i used ibad with the arabic accent he writes when he rise and he writes when he walks as the sheikh mentioned i think everybody gets the hint second benefit that we can take away from this hadith brother and sister as he said the permissibility of narrating stories from the children of israel bani israel i'm not talking about the israelis that are here today there are many narrations that you will come across and then the scholar may say israel so we don't accept them when do we accept the israelite stories if that makes sense only if the messenger will utter it with this tongue and this narration is authentic right indeed there is or there are profound and amazing lessons that can be found in these stories that the messenger sallallahu alaihi was telling related however if the people of christianity you know the christians and also the jews they bring you a narration they bring you something that happened before we don't accept it likewise we don't deny it as this is the instruction of the messenger benefit number three brothers and sisters this bloodthirsty barbaric individual when needing an islamic verdict or something that pertains to his religion who did he go and ask did he ask every dumb duck and harry that he came across he was smart enough to realize that i need to go to the one who is most qualified and when i say qualified brother and sister i'm not speaking about someone who went to a british university put together a couple of theses and then now he's a doctor he's a phd holder and hasn't studied accordingly academics is one thing brothers and sisters knowledge is another wallahi some phd holders have caused the muslim ummah a big problem just because now he has a phd in islamic studies having taken this degree or this phd or these masters from these british institutions british universities or western universities right he felt that i am now qualified to speak about the dean of allah azzawajal so they started speaking about darwin theories so many other aspects that are very very sensitive began to write about it and the reality of the matter is he caused more facade than the good that he was intending because more corruption and more confusion today brother and sister you see somebody maybe sitting in the cafe and he's declaring others to be kuffar this guy is a kafir this guy is an innovator this guy is this and this guy's that he asked for the one who is most knowledgeable and not just anyone who looks like he's knowledgeable can everybody move forward please because we're running out of space he says no have knowledge that it is indeed a great facade it is great corruption that one speaks about everything that he has about brothers and sisters you don't have to comment on everything and anything that you hear about you want to speak about medical related issues right what happens brothers and sisters when you need some medical advice are you going to seek advice from someone who's currently studying medicine in glasgow university he's a rookie but rather you will what by the way no offense to anybody studying in glasgow university but you guys get a point you will go to the one who's most qualified because this relates to a very serious matter i remember many many years ago a lot of the muslims they would go to places like germany because apparently they were known to be very slick in their dealings and of that sort so people would travel out because there are consultants are very well qualified very well experienced and so on and so forth you need your car fixing you'll do your research making sure that you don't get ripped off and also that he's going to do the job properly but why is it when it comes to the dean of allah so everyone feels comfortable to add their two pence or to say whatever they want especially when it comes to sensitive issues one of my favorite statements of ibm is when he said how beautiful is silence when it comes to sensitive issues how often have we seen one destroying himself because of something that he uttered with his tongue we've never ever seen someone destroy himself for being silent when it comes to marriage related issues people are speaking adding their two pens no experience whatsoever you have sisters destroying the marriages of other sisters you ask yourself the question martial she must have 10 years of experience right she's never been married how can he do this to you how can you let this happen no knowledge about the deen and also no expertise or experience on this matter and then it's meskina here's her friend saying all of these things she says yeah you're right and then goes and behaves towards a husband a certain way and then what there's issues in the marriage happens from the devils of the inns because this is one of shaytan's biggest plots right to destroy your marriage if he can't come to you directly he goes through other people take inspiration he says they would be sitting giving out fatwas islamic verdicts for the hajjaj the pilgrims when they would come to makkah so now i'm normally says i used to sometimes sit with ibn umar and sometimes with abdullah in our bus abdullah ibn abbas we know how knowledgeable he was the message allah has made a lot of difference whenever he was asked the question he would answer it however abdullah ibn umar who by the way brothers and sisters is second after abu hurairah from the companions who narrated the most hadith now if you're the narrator he says he would say allahu alam he will say allah more than that which he would answer this [Music] some of the consequences of speaking without knowledge so this benefit brothers and sisters which is benefit number three that this barbaric bloodthirsty individual was smart enough to realize that i need to go to the one who is most knowledgeable to speak to about my religious affairs number four lack of knowledge brothers and sisters can get you killed lack of knowledge can get you killed the one who is ignorant brothers and sisters is an enemy to himself as you can clearly see in this hadith that monk right due to his lack of knowledge it brought about his own demise he asked him a question he spoke with our knowledge it got him killed it got him killed there was a similar incident the time of the messenger was there was a man who had a rock thrown at him it split his head open from the companions went to sleep woke up and when he woke up he asked the companions what should i do they all instructed him to go and have a shower a purificatory bath with his head split open what did he do he took a purificatory bath and he died messiness allah allah became so furious you know what he said they killed him may allah azzawajal kill them why didn't they ask if they didn't know the cure to ignorance is to ask the cure to ignorance is to ask messenger ali also became so furious lack of knowledge can either be the reason why you get yourself killed or you could be the reason why others are killed i remember subhanallah this is before i went to medina back in 2011 2012. the people of knowledge were telling the yemenis stay in your home don't revolt by the way when the scholars say don't revolt they are not defending the rulers defending the ruler who might be tyrannocon and oppressive is one thing telling the people don't revolt is a completely different thing he says you will never find in history people who revolted trying to remove some evil except that this revolution led to that which is worse that's a big statement he said throughout history you will never find people who revolted that he brought about any good we should not be defending any tyrannocon oppressive ruler that is wrong and this is not what the righteous of the pastor are upon but them saying don't revolt it's a whole completely different thing well i remember i was there at the time in aliyaman before the revolution after the revolution the scholars were saying stay in your home people like you guys are you know what i mean scholars for dollars that's one thing they would say and also scholars who only know issues related to post-natal bleeding and also menses they would mock them and ridicule them imagine that make fun of them so they revolted wallahi it hurts me till this very day every now and again people ask me how's yemen it's heartbreaking to even think about it i saw before and after deep into the night we would walk outside just to go buy some cheese so we could eat it me and my cousins and my relatives and now when you just look at what's happening there what did it all start with revolution how many people died along the way number on it now you ask just about every yemeni do you prefer your life before that tyrannocal ruler or after every single one of them would say before yes that rule at the time abdullah they say all sorts of stuff about him i remember when i tried to get my own yemeni citizenship the amount of money they took out of me there's a lot of bribery there's a lot of sins transgression but would you prefer the country how it is now or how it was before it will all say how it was before even with that ruler life was still good and we had safety and security the fact that you're able to wake up in glasgow not worrying about your safety it is a blessing that is overlooked brothers and sisters that we sometimes look down on only then they began to appreciate these scholars who told them stay in your houses ignorant people are coming out throwing around for towers saying things no we should do this speaking on emotion how many people died this is a number that you would struggle to put down there's even a principle in maduni if you have been given permission by the legislator to do something and then something comes out of it right are you held liable no you're not however if you haven't been given permission and you decide to take that issue into your own hands will you be held liable yes you will for example now the message whoever acts like a doctor but in reality is not a qualified doctor he doesn't have the skills he takes into his own hands now to maybe carry out an operation and the people think that he's a doctor and because of his doings this person dies is he held liable he's held liable however qualified doctor now qualified experienced after the operation this person that he was operating has now passed away is he not liable no he's not the same applies brothers and sisters when it comes to knowledge sometimes you find when you go out for hajj or umrah you ask somebody a question oh have i done it properly goes no you haven't and because of that you have to pay a penalty you know how much your penalty is 100 pounds to buy sheep and for the sheep to be slaughtered it can cost over 100 pounds you issued that verdict based on ignorance and then later on he finds out that you were wrong or you misinformed him does he have the right to request the hundred pound back yes he does because you're not qualified you don't have the knowledge how many benefits is that four number five this bloodthirsty barbaric human being who took 99 lives still had the eagerness to continue looking for redemption imagine that brother and sisters he didn't stop looking for redemption looking to be forgiven he continued and he continued until he eventually found his answer allah brothers and sisters some of us may just give up the moment we are touched with a little bit of difficulty and as we mentioned yesterday in the lecture about ibn malik some brothers and sisters when they are struck with a little bit of difficulty they want to take al islam and just flush it down the drain they just want to shop and halas forget about it because of the hardship that he's going through you know what it's probably maybe because i'm repenting now that i'm going through all of these difficulties so this individual had eagerness to continue right seeking knowledge the sixth benefit brothers and sisters this bad experience that he had with the monk it didn't lead him to writing off all religious people he still went looking for someone else and i think this point is very very important what happens brothers and sisters from time to time is you may experience something negative from a religious person and then you begin to paint everyone with the same brush or brush everybody with the same paint however you want to say the same is that really fair this individual may have a beard he may be wearing islamic clothing you had a bad experience with him is it right for you now to start making generalizing sweeping statements about all religious people well life's not fair and you will be held to accountable for making these sweeping general statements ask yourself the question now right and this is also a reminder for the feminists you had a bad experience with one religious person and then you begin to say all religious people are like this all these general statements that you may utter if you say that about that one person and you're wrong in it you're getting one sin at least one sin what if you now generalize how many religious people on the face of the earth are there can you see how serious that is because even a narration right one insults another after being insulted that person goes and insults his whole kabila mention of that of how serious the sin is and that is because he's accumulating the sin of all of these people that he's what spoken enough said what about the feminist now who said all men are like that men are this men are trash men are kada or just because you had a negative experience in your marriage you begin to say all women are like that that's a very serious statement brothers and sisters this barbaric bloodthirsty individual they don't start generalizing probably all religious people are like that forget all of them and let me continue with whatever i was doing there's the hadith brothers and sisters that's very very profound with the messenger sallallahu alaihi wasallam said one may utter a single word and because of that word that he has uttered he is thrown in the hellfire for 70 years that one word that you uttered that you may have taken very lightly subhanallah and may well be because of these types of statements that we utter alongside the seventh benefit brothers and sisters is a person of knowledge being accessible to the people this person of knowledge brothers and sisters was accessible to the people there are those brothers and sisters who close themselves in their homes and there are those who make themselves very easily accessible just ask yourself this question if the people of knowledge make themselves made themselves unaccessible where would we be would you think the state or what type of state would we actually live in what would our circumstances be we have marriage related issues inheritance related issues problems with our business partners we need a person of knowledge to judge accordingly like sometimes we really unappreciate our imams the other day i was speaking to allah he broke my heart he really really did with what he has to deal with on a day-to-day basis really really hit my heart and i don't think a lot of us know the struggles imams of massage would go through i'm not the imam of the mused and i was saying to him i don't think i can deal with all of that headache i've been saying this for years but without the shadow of a doubt what our imams do is indeed so rewarding and he's patient with them he's patient with the harms that come with dealing with the people because people can be very very difficult right you guys heard the method before the saying don't shoot the messenger you're trying to help the situation they end up turning on you this individual is indeed far better than the one who just closes himself off the eighth benefit brothers and sisters being silent of the truth spreads uncertainty and is a leading reason for the spread of ignorance or the community society normalizing that which is in contrary with the sharia and that is because you may remain silent of that which is the truth just like what's happening now in america just like what's happening now in america because leading figures of the community they took this very liberal approach of lgbtq right we heard statements such as we support same-sex marriages morally but we are against it sorry politically we support it but morally we are against it the person who's listening to that what do you think is running through his head we support same-sex marriages politically but we are against it morally i'm just quoting by the way now what do you think this is going to now do to the muslim listener this young man who's hearing a leading figure utterly sayings and statements allah one american brother said to me you will walk through the whole university campus and you will struggle to find a hijabi who is not wearing the rainbow colors on her chest a sticker or a badge or whatever have you many youngsters right see this to be perfectly fine over there and that is because of either silence or watering down aspects of the sharia by the way brothers i have to mention this disclaimer just as i did yesterday in khutbah we do not entice hatred phobia or violence towards any minority group we just quote the scripture as jacob rees-mogg does and the conservatives there are 367 i believe conservative mps right more than half voted against same-sex marriages i'm just quoting i don't express my own views and my own ideas i just quote so as long as you quote the scripture brothers and sisters nobody can demonize you cancel you criminalize you that is because you quote in the scripture and something has to be said that isa kadalik if they have the right to say whatever they want last time i checked wherein a democratic country that propagates freedom of speech they are allowed to say whatever they want and why am i put on the back foot or made to feel that i must have coalitions with all of these different groups so so the reason why i mentioned this right this man killed 99. are you telling me brothers and sisters that if knowledge was so accessible he would have continued doing this all the way up until this point agreed how long does it take to kill 99 people brothers for so long he's just killing and killing and killing only then he's asking whether this is even a possibility something as clear as that he's asking now after number 99 is there a way for me to be repent uh to be forgiven is the door of redemption even open for me and that is maybe because the people in his time they remain silent they didn't say anything so this just continued and continued and continued for such a long time number nine brothers and sisters ninth benefit stepping out of that environment the scholars they say that which is very evident in this hadith is how it is recommended for an individual to move away from the place that he was carrying out sins in and at times brothers and sisters it may be what mandatory every year we take road men out on umrah with the brothers five star some of you guys may have seen the videos online these brothers are some of the leading drug dealers in places like london just last umara sitting with the brother in front of the kaaba he says if i don't carry knives outside i'll probably die i have to walk outside with knives this is the kind of toxic environment that he lives in and i said to him you have no option except to move away from where you live to a completely different area i sometimes think back at some of the decisions my parents made for me well are they brothers and sisters and i've said it many many times if my parents did not move me out of london telestar i would either be dead in prison or i would have joined isis some of my relatives joined isis and until this very moment nobody knows where they are my cousin's father doesn't know where he is and of course we condemn all of that right i would be in prison many of my friends are in prison i remember the last day of year 10 last day of year 10 wallahi brothers and i kid you not outside of the school there were maybe 20 guys all holding knives they just wanted one guy and that was me and because my last lesson was in front of the school where you could see what's happening outside of the school right i saw everything i jumped over the back gates of the school however it could have been a very different story so that kind of environment is it possible even if i wanted now to repent right to remain there how often do we receive messages of brothers saying i've repented but then i just fell back into the same sin why because all my friends and everybody around me they do the exact same thing [Music] and do you think brothers and sisters right if you leave something for the sake of allah will abandon you one of my favorite hadith and i remember this was the hadith that somebody taught me and i i can't remember who he was but i make du afram all the time one hadith that i knew before i left you know where it was when the messenger samadhi of some said you don't leave something for the sake of allah accept that allah subhanahu wa will give you that which is better think allah azza will abandon you when you left it for his sake for our defender can be found in abundance wherever you go providing you do the right thing and he will provide for him from where he doesn't expect allah the more one permits means of temptation to remain in their surroundings the more they are at risk of poisoning their faith i'll say that again the more one permits means of temptation to remain in their surroundings the more they are at risk of poisoning their faith we talked about the environment we have a different type of environment that we have to deal with in today's day and age right you know that is the phone you have access to more friends on your phone than maybe in real life today agreed allah may be the time brothers and sisters to bring back the trap phone you guys know the trap phone do you guys remember snake huh that we used to play on snake and then he ends up biting his own body and the last you need to restart the game again you've lost and that is because we've become so addicted to our phones it is the phone that is leading to pornography addiction zina how many messages do i receive every ramadan brothers and sisters of brothers and sisters both saying we committed zinna in the month of ramadan did you know him before the month of ramallah they didn't know each other before the month of ramadan how did it come about social media he saw an attractive picture from far he clicked on it and the moment you click on the sister's profile brothers and sisters or on the brother's profile you're playing with fire you are playing with fire brothers and sisters so this is why i say brothers and sisters it may well be that we have to what get rid of these smartphones for a period of time i'm not saying cut it off completely they say you can build habits if you leave or do something 40 days apparently there's a huh a tried theory like that if you want to introduce new habits or get rid of bad ones then 40 days and then insha'allah it will become a norm right i think it's worth mentioning yet is a role model when it comes to cutting of ties with that which distracts you from the remembrance of elizabeth when the race horses diverted him from the assad prayer until the sun had set what did he end up doing he ended up slaughtering all of them to reprimand himself for allowing them to distract him so for the sake of emphasis you have just spent hours washing and adding classy accessories to your new car you stand back to admire your efforts for a moment but your joy is cut short when you realize that the sun has set and you've missed the prayer and you've become heedless to prostrate to your creator in fulfillment of your obligation would you take your prized luxurious car brothers and sisters and you put it towards the auction to get it sold simply because it visited you from allah subhanahu ta'ala would anybody here do that not that i'm saying it's obligatory this is what sulaiman ali started with he slaughtered all of his horses because he visited him from the asparagus and it's very very relevant now that which is busying you you must what completely cut ties with it every link between us and the prohibited which pulls us to misguidance should be terminated and it is a step of being saved from the hellfire agreed this phone can be used for a lot of good however it can also become haram your phone can become haram if this phone now is busying away from allah even though the us of the base ruling is mubarak it's perfectly fine to use these gadgets but when it now visits you away from allah becomes haram tenth benefit one person of knowledge brothers and sisters is far greater than a thousand devout worshipers who lack knowledge and also who the devout worshiper the abid what was the comparison that he drew imagine you have the umar can that be compared to a star and his brightness that when that individual worships allah azzawajal and he stands up for the night prayer and fasts reads quran those benefits are they limited to him or does it extend out to others it's limited to him ask for the one who's an island and teaches the people benefits them you see that this knowledge now extends to others he saves life with his knowledge with his knowledge he saves blood being spilt amongst the people maybe because of what inheritance distribution allah brothers and sisters if only you knew that which happens amongst blood brothers and sisters because of inheritance distributions or issues related to that because one of the reasons why i really went out my way to study this and to become qualified we'll tell you a lot about it they live with benefit replacing your old friends with good ones isn't this what we take away from this hadith he told him to leave this land and to go to another i'll share this beautiful benefit of one of the common questions that people tend to ask us is i can't taste the sweetness of ibada what do you advise i pray i don't feel that connection he said to allah i did not taste the sweetness of worship until i left off three things when i first came across this it didn't occur to me that these three things are connected to one another allah so powerful he said i stopped worrying about pleasing the people and this allowed me to speak the truth you're with your friends and they are doing that which displeases allah you know you have to say something right in a manner that is wise and gentle you know you have to say something and when you say something it's not going to go down nicely even if you are the most wisest in your approach it upsets them this guy is always killing the mood he always kills the vibe you do that see how you feel after that when you speak the truth and that which is right so he said i stopped worrying about pleasing everyone and i was able to speak the truth there was a second one i stopped hanging around with the wrong crowd and allah azzawajal replaced them with good ones so now let's look at the relation between the first and the second you speak the truth they feel like you always kill the vibe do you think they're going to hold you again they're not going to call you again they'll cut you off yes you will find difficulty being alone from time to time what will allah azza will do for you he'll replace them with good ones insha'allah i stopped chasing after the sweetness of the dunya i was able to find the sweetness of the hereafter say what is the connection between the second and the third when you're hanging around with righteous people will they be speaking to you about the next bmw 4 series or s-class mercedes and i always get them c-class there's one for bmw and there's one for uh i don't have anything against people of these cars by the way but the point is you're sitting with the righteous person is he going to be visiting you with the and the glitters in the glamours of this dunya what does it remind you of hereafter and allah is that with it right can you see the connection between the three lie at times you just have to learn to say no i can't allah azzawajal deserves to be pleased more than anyone else right and see how you feel after that yes you will go through hardships but allah azzawajal has something great waiting in store for you in this dunya before the hereafter so this is why he was saying to him leave these people and go there there are people who worship allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in the lands that i'm directing you to number 12 togetherness in worship is more uplifting and lighter on the soul when you're with righteous individuals brother and sister would you agree that it's easier to worship allah azzawajal as opposed to when you're hanging around with the wrong crowd we normally tell people that want to travel in the month of ramadan they ask should i break my fast should i not does he have the concession to break his fast yes he does he's mentioned the quran perfectly fine however he has to make up for it after the month of ramadan right in the month of ramadan when everybody is doing the ibadah collectively the act of worship to fast right is it easier to fast alongside them or after the month of ramadan when you might be by yourself allah you might see as a burden so this is where you look for individuals who worship allah azzawajal with you makes it easier on the sword you don't have to always feel awkward i have to pray but no one else is praying huh the 13th benefit brothers and sisters we're nearly finished what really matters is how the race finishes what really really matters brother and sister is how the race finishes when the two angels were disputing amongst one another i am more entitled to taking a soul but then the other one says no i'm more entitled allah as they were just sent a third was in the form of a human being to judge between them and that angels role was to calculate which land he was more closer to it turned out to be that he was actually more closer to the land of where he was committing all of these sins subhanallah so out of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala's mercy what did allah is do he calls the earth to shake so that he's more closer to the land of redemption bearing in mind brothers and sisters this man he killed a hundred people however he wanted to repent to allah azzawajal and that last act that he done overrids everything else so what really really matters brother is how the race finishes and none of us are guaranteed that we might be in the masjid every single day but then due to some sickness in our hearts we have a very unpleasant death i'm sure many of us have come across images circulating on social media of a man sitting in mr nebui right and he's holding the quran and he's passed away not so long ago we had two huge reminders in leicester one of them was an imam a mawlana from the local masjid where i always pray as long as i knew this mawlana he was a quran teacher and he used to lead the salah he was imam and i went to that madrasa as a youngster before i went to al-yaman right he leads the salah to aisha and then he dies was this surprising to me no he wasn't brothers and sisters because the principle is woman akhtar means whoever is excessive in doing something he's very likely going to die doing that act it's pretty common sense if you're always doing something what's the likelihood you will die like that huh sometimes you see these videos cctv captured the last few moments of a man praying at a time when no one's in the mystery the cctv captured it he remembered that allah is at a time of rafale while while the people are heedless they're working they're doing all sorts of things but he decided to walk into the middle and he does this regularly cctv captured him that's how he died that was the last thing and then a couple of i think it was a week after that a syrian brother again died in his sujud these things don't just happen by chance brothers and sisters when you ask yourself the question now right can i say allah can you say like everybody here can say like famous hadith of the prophet whoever's last statement is he will enter into al-jannah most of us have memorized the hadith right let me tell you guys a story of an individual called he was on his deathbed one of the muhammad of his time muhammad and also abu hayat mirazi they enter into his house this is a muhaddith someone whose days and nights are with a hadith of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam so muhammad muslim and also when they enter they want to tell him that he should start saying this is referred to in the sharia message when you visit the dead or when not the dead when they're on their deathbed tried to get them to say because he's like the teacher they felt very shy to instruct him to do something so they said let's now revise some of the hadith related to one being on his deathbed a scholar of hadith he begins to mention the chain of narration for this hadith right narrated by so and so and then so and so on and so on so and so and so all the way up until the companion he said the messenger said and he passed away what is the end of the hadith he will enter into al-jannah he didn't say that he said allah the last thing that came out of his mouth was the ha because if he had said he will enter into elijah he would have to start again because you want the last thing that he says to be la ilaha that's how he died a man of hadith who spent his days and nights revising a hadith and teaching a hadith let me give you guys some examples of a very unpleasant bad ending have you guys heard of alan shearer alan shearer why are you guys acting like you don't know him guys watch master the day every week huh alan shear is still alive however i'm not here to speak specifically about him many many years ago [Music] one of the messiah told me about a child who is alan shearer crazy he wakes up alan shearer he goes to sleep alishera his blanket has a picture of alan shearer his wall has a blank as a picture of alan sheira by the way for those who don't know alan shearer is like the fox in the box that's what he used to call him don't need to score all the goals the child is on his deathbed the sheikh goes and visits does the talking he tries to get him to say what do you think he said brothers and sisters what was the last thing you think he said take a guess today we don't have alan shearer we have the likes of ronaldo messi huh these are the footballers that we are crazy of imagine you've taken footballers as a religion because it has become a religion to some right football is like a religion to them and he's just calling out the names and that's the last thing that he says and that is maybe because the bulk of his time goes to speaking about football all the time football this football that or did you see this championship even championship division one huh and then of course you've got the scottish premier league which we don't speak about over there celtic and rangers and kilmarnock there was an individual who was on his deathbed they tried to get him to do the talking they were doing the talking for him he said how is this going to benefit me i never ever prayed a single prayer that was the last thing that he said and he died like that the rule of thumb brothers and sisters is woman whoever is excessive in doing something he's very likely going to die like that you fantasize and you say yes inshallah i'm going to have that kind of death work towards it live that kind of lifestyle also when speaking about that he went to visit a man who was on his deathbed and they tried to get them to say you know what he said the one on his deathbed he indeed is a disbeliever of that which you are saying that was the last thing that he said and then he passed away he investigated what kind of individual was this person so he said he was an alcohol addict an alcoholic he tells us about somebody who used to just sit with people who drink hammer alcohol never used to engage in they used to sit with them so they tried to get them to say allah would you think he said drink pour me some that was the last thing that i said and he passed away there are some things brothers and sisters that i'm not saying is haram playing football is haram however not so long ago one of my good friends told me how so-and-so passed away on the football pitch so i asked a couple of questions a couple of weeks after that what kind of individuals he loved football that's a lot of his time went to football and he died like that you may say to me that okay playing football is perfectly fine but the question is do you want to die like that no one is saying don't play football don't enjoy yourself but if it now becomes the majority of your time and you die like that are you okay with that sometimes people say music is not haram music is not haram i've had many discussions with people about this particular topic my question to you is do you want to die like that whether it's haram or not even though i have no doubt in my honor is haram and there's enough evidences for that but do you really want to die you know there was this individual who loved listening to music and he always used to repeat it when he was on his deathbed they told him to say la ilahilala huh what do you think he said his last statement was tanta someone who loved chess always used to play chaturang on his deathbed of course again he tried to get him to say allah what did he say check mate that's how he passed away so you're of course dying upon sin and then you might die doing maybe dunya related issues scholars they split into two sin of course that's without the shadow of that really bad but do you want to die and the last thing that you're saying is this person is a very good customer because this is what you were only known for this is what the majority of your time went to this is another example allah brothers and sisters every single aide we hear about somebody who died with alcohol in his mouth or he was in a car playing music you may think this of all these narrations are out of date they're back in the day it is unheard of every single aid we hear about something like this every eighth you worship allah for 30 days in the month of ramadan something you know what i can chill now not thinking that on this day that he's enjoying himself the death would come to come on to him well i knew this brother went to hajj went ahead you come back like a newly born baby right he thought you know what i'm just enjoying myself i'm just going to repent again just like i always normally do while i brother and sister he died in front of the pub he died in front of the pub that's because he just walked out of it 14th benefit is that 14th yeah that one piece of advice got this barbaric bloodthirsty individual into agenda don't downplay brothers and sisters or take lightly a good piece of advice that you might give to someone that young child that you are instilling al-islam into you may think to yourself that he's not benefiting from it today right but as young kids things stick teaching someone at a young age that which he learns when he's young is like carving into a stone even tomorrow when he goes astray brothers and sisters huh he falls off he still has these islamic morals and values instilled within him that he could always what fall back onto but you're thinking to yourself maybe now lie they're not benefiting then what's the point don't think about it now think about it in the long term right that one piece of advice that he gave this barbaric bloodthirsty individual that knowledgeable person he told him leave it was got it it is what got him into a jannah don't belittle any small deed don't one kalima you don't know allah the kind of effect that he could have on that individual and don't expect people to accept your advice you just give don't advise expecting to be benefited from or for them to take your advice they may just like turn around and throw it in your face but later on on the line thinks oh imam so-and-so told me it may be a benefit to me right teaching your children or your infant sort of fatiha one tama came across the fada about he said don't allow anybody to teach them what does he mean by that you be the one who teaches them because of how often he's going to be reading surah al-fatiha why would you let someone else take all of that reward every salah you're getting the reward for it and it may have taken you one two three minutes two three minutes it took you and it will be on your scale of good then he teaches his children and they teach their children and it will be on your scale of good deeds think about your legacy more than anything else number 15 the vast mercy of allah allah says my servants who have indeed transgressed against themselves do not lose hope in the mercy of allah subhanahu ta'ala it doesn't matter what sin that you've done brothers and sisters or how fallacious grave sickening that sin may have been how many women you've slept with how many times you've committed to dinner how often you watch things under your blanket no matter what you have done you may take a thousand steps away from allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and it's only one step to go back to allah azza one step everyone since brothers and sisters yesterday in edinburgh when we gave the lecture on i told them right at the beginning and then i reiterated the same benefit at the end the reason why the story of malik is one of my favorite incidents of the seerah and because it shows you that the sahaba were human just like everyone else they made mistakes you're going to make mistakes as the messenger said every son of adam is not just someone who makes a mystic but he constantly makes the mistakes however that which makes you distinct from everyone that is airing and sinning is to be from the tawwa being those who constantly keep going back to allah azzawajal a thousand steps away it takes one step to return back to allah azzawajal you break down in front of him ya allah azzawajal forgive me and he will not slam that door of mercy in your face people always ask he wrongs me and then he seeks forgiveness another again and does it again for how long should i continue accepting his apology right this is the human being but allah azzawajal we sin and we sin and we sin and we sin right the shaytan wants you to feel hypocritical how can you keep on repenting and you're doing the same thing time and time again he says even if it is a thousand times that you commit the same sin you return back to allah azza each time showing remorse and regret and allah is ready to forgive you however you continue to be engulfed in these sins without making talk but you're just going to keep on going downhill [Music] is ready to forgive you and this is one of the things that really enrages the shaytan i know people probably ask i'm addicted to this sin every time you do that go and pray that which they call the salat make although perfect it go and pray it's only a matter of time brothers and sisters that you will become what detached from that sin you show a lot that you really want to change and better yourself if allah sees that goodness in your heart you show it to him he will give it to you he really really will it's only a matter of time keep doing it keep repenting keep saying these are 15 benefits that we have taken alhamdulillah we managed to go through all of that and also one thing that i forgot to mention is when an individual procrastinates right and this is the difference between us and this bloodthirsty murderer who killed a hundred right we keep telling ourselves we're going to repent i am going to and i shall and i will and then we die how often brothers and sisters have we see people who say i am going to repent he went to sleep he never woke up but look at this individual this is why the reason why i should take his soul the angel of mercy saying this because his heart turned to allah looking for redemption khalas he took the steps to repent to allah azzawajal and he is the murderer who has a hundred lives under his belt but that might be the difference between us and him he took the practical steps i'm going to go and change and this is why he's leaving the city may allah azza will give us all a toffee and allow us to repent sincerely and to make us from those when they hear the reminder they act upon it is really humbling to see all of these glowing faces it shows there's really like a lot of goodness in you guys for having attended this lecture wanting to better your understanding of the religion but that which is important brothers and sisters after coming to a lecture you may feel that it had an effect on you lectures what it does it does raise people's iman however you need to keep it afloat how do you do that by making it regular by learning the deen of allah azzawajal otherwise your iman is just going to go back down again my comparison to lectures is like paracetamol you're sick right you have some underlining issues what happens when you consume paracetamol it just covers it for a little bit right it's a short-term fix however you are in need of an operation to remove these underlining issues that you have you can't just go long-term with paracetamol right and the operation it's like the seeking of knowledge you're dealing with the underlying issues you're learning about how to get closer to allah how to protect yourself from sins that's why he says the first deception of iblis the first deception of these was to block the people away from knowledge and that is because knowledge is a light if he manages to extinguish the light you will see yourself tripping left right one misguidance to another one sin to another not knowing how to deal with it the idiom teaches you how to overcome the doubts from liberals from atheists orientalists and it teaches you how to maneuver and navigate around the sins and your desires your temptations and that's why shaytaan doesn't want you to study if you've come to know now that you have been deprived of ilm all these years and know that the shaitan has managed to trap you he is one over you because this is his biggest fear because when you learn you are what hindering the progress and the works of iblis that's why he comes down hard on people who take this journey this is just my humble evaluation brothers and sisters over the years i've noticed that the shaitaan would give the most trouble to those who he he who he feared the most and that is because they were getting down to seek knowledge he would try everything that he can he might even come through the wife or maybe through the parent to distract him because he's terrified of what this individual is going to do shallow brothers and sisters there's food um [Music] is brexit you
