Overview
Objective:
Install DDR4 RAM in a motherboard and configure it properly.

Asus ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming Wi-Fi.
DIMM Slots and Configuration
DIMM Slots:
Dual Inline Memory Module slots.
Slots labeled as B1, B2, A1, and A2.
Common configuration: B2 and A2 (one channel), B1 and A1 (another channel).
Installation Steps
Unlocking DIMM Slots:
Push the slots outward to unlock.
Typically involves B2 and A2 slots.
Aligning and Inserting RAM:
Align the notch on the RAM module with the slot.
Insert the RAM carefully, ensuring it snaps into place.
Avoid forcing the RAM to prevent damage.
Special Configurations
Single Module:
Install in B2 slot.
Four Modules:
Ensure the modules match by date and lot code.
Distribute as: matching pairs in B2/A2 and B1/A1.
BIOS Configuration
Accessing BIOS:
Press Delete or F2 key during boot.
Using XMP (Extreme Memory Profile):
Go to AI Tweaker in Advanced Mode
Select XMP profile (1 or 2)
Automatically sets the RAM frequency and timings.
Example: XMP DDR4 3603 MHz with CL 16-19-39-1.
Manual Settings:
Access DRAM Timing Control to adjust timings if needed.
Command Rate:
Can be left on Auto or manually set.
Save and Exit:
Hit F10.
Troubleshooting
CMOS Battery Reset:
Turn off the power supply.
Remove CMOS battery and wait 30 seconds.
Reinsert battery and reset BIOS settings.
Verifying Installation
In Windows:
Open Task Manager -> Performance -> Memory.
Verify RAM speed and slot usage.
