Comprehensive Review of Real Grade New Gundam

so right off the bat I'm gonna answer the question that I had about this how is that fin funnel wing on the new verka was a nightmare how about here all I can say is it's absolutely perfect now let's get into this the new Gundam hailing from the 1980s movie chars counter-attack this is Japan's favorite gundam and there's no question why when it comes to Gundams it's big it's awesome and all-round cool bandai absolutely knocked it out of the park with last year's real great version of char aznable Sasabe so the question is have they done the same level of justice for Amuro raised ultimate Mobile Suit short answer hell yes long answer aesthetically this is the Master Grade new gun of verka shrank to 144th scale aesthetically that is because what is under the hood blows the burka absolutely out of this universe honestly I've never seen a gumpa with articulation like this strap yourself in this one's insane real grade excitement embody real grade is designed to recreate the real thing with fine details in abundance of color part movable parts with the widest possible range of movement are equipped on a preassembled inner front wait what bender you're gonna need to update your box there's a minute fully assembled inner frame since the unicorn get that box up to date because this mecha right here has no preassembled inner frame and it is all the better for it but anyway I digress hey what is everyone welcome back to another gun flower view and today I'm taking a look at this right here and of course this is the real great new Gundam I've been so excited about getting my hands on this right here and I know you guys have been too so all I can say straight off the bat and I haven't gone through the wringer with this just yet but so far this thing is mind-blowing anyway once again this video right here would not be possible without those awesome people over at hobby like Japan so if you do want one of your own there is a link down there in the description now let's get right into this so first off I will mention from the front this looks like a pretty big bucks but when you see it from the side it's a little bit on the skinny side and when you do open it up there's a lot of extra space in here so there's not as much plastic in this as you might suspect also we do get a whole lot of ads in here like this this this this and this and finally there we go that is exactly what the real grade new Gundam will look like out of the box snap together with a few of the stickers and a little bit of panel lining I'll just note that for this build I did do the standard to snip approach to removing it from the runners so if you see any nubs on there which you won't see a lot of they're the ones that you're gonna have to pay a little bit of extra attention to but anyway it is absolutely and utterly official that real grade has now become Pam sized Master Grade it has kind of been that way for a few kids now but it seems that's the way they're going this right here does not have a preassembled inner frame yes it does have an MS joint runner but this point I think they're just including them for the sake of including them all this runner right here had on it with the central folding mechanisms for the fin funnels so that means as for the mecha itself it's all assembled parts including that full inner frame we can see right here on the side of the box but there is so much to say about this right here that I'm gonna try not Yammer on for too long and keep it tight concise and take a look at all the spectacular aesthetic additions to this kit but anyway let's take a look but before I actually get into that the one thing I have to point out about this kit that I notice straight away and the one thing that stands out to me the most is that head this thing is cute as all hell look at that so gone is that real sharp angular long face of the new Gundam that we would have seen in the movie as well as on the master grade verka and in with this more generic kind of Gundam head that's very round and well it's extremely cute for better or worse it definitely gives it a less threatening vibe so from here on out I'm gonna detach that wing just for the sake of keeping it in frame and I'll get back to that in the accessories in a little while but without the fin funnel wing it's still an awesome looking gundam anyway let's jump right in with the size comparisons so first up there it is beside a small real grade a regular sized real grade and a big old real grade and speaking of which there's the real grade Sasabe in the real grade new Gundam side-by-side and what they will look like up on your shelf and all I can say is they look amazing so good as for some high grades there it is side-by-side with the narrative Gundam si packs the high-grade narrative guns she packs a mobile suit it's based on as well as the absolutely awesome high-grade moon Gundam so as you can see for 144th scale pretty damn big there it is the site of Master Grade a perfect grade Kotobuki is hexagons bulk arm and SD gundam a sigma sh figuarts robot tamashii and a Funko pop anyway there is a spin of the finished model without that Finn funnel wing attached all I can say is this looks absolutely ridiculously good for something that is 144th scale and speaking of which this looks more like a 144th scale version of the new gun of verka more than I'd say it looks like a 144th scaled version of the actual new Gundam itself I guess it does make sense because catechize approach to designing mecha designs is what they would look like in real life and that is the whole real grade mantra as well like I mentioned I did apply some of the stickers and did do a bit of panel lining but all-in-all this thing looks so damn good and speaking about how this is kind of like a mini version of the new Gundam verka there there are side by side and just to kind of contrast the differences between them I'm gonna make them in and around the same size as each other so you can see while ignoring the size difference what the difference is between the mark so there's a spin off both of them side by side and instead of trying to point out every single individual difference myself some of the ones I can see right off the bat the chest is a little bit different there's only one that a gray fin on one side as opposed to the four across the chest on the verka the head is completely different the shape has been changed a lot the V is a lot more widespread on the real grade the head is a lot rounder we've got these awesome little bits on top of the shoulders which I'll take a look at closer in a minute four little gray sections that come out of those that look cool we've got some deep recessed part on the skirting armor and one the most obvious aspects is of course the color separation is not quite as good on the rail grade as it is on the master grade but then again some parts are a little bit better for example these little segments here on the backpack these are just in white on the verka and the gray segments on the real grade actually come through from the inner frame part so even though this is smaller it is better in some regards but I'm sure there's a lot more of those who can spot right now if there's any spotted that I didn't mention let me know down there in the comments and of course while you're doing that let me know which do you prefer design-wise the real grade or the master grade after the plastic in here we're rocking forerunners of white that's two different shades three which are of a pure white one is of a little bit of an off-white towards grey we have three runners of grain here this mainly makes up the inner frame as well as the hands stuff like that whip runner and here we've got more gray parts as well as some clear green which we can see up in the head that's also behind the eyes but there's a sticker on there we've got a red section on this as well that's all the red sections on this so only one shade of red you can see that on the crotch cockpit and round in the back next up we've got two big ole runners of a dark navy blue usually these are the most problematic colors in a kit these dark blacks or navy blues there is only one shade in here there is two runners but only one shade and this is the one that may give you the most trouble when you're cleaning them up so here I recommend just having a good nipper like the godhand the last colors in here then is yellow this is all over the place the V fin on the backpack chest side skirts knees toes and of course this has a color separated crotch once again unlike this guy so like I mentioned a couple of seconds ago there are these nice sections coming out of the shoulders here these very small bits of gray coming through from the inner frame this features all over the kit and I really really do like this feature around on the butt flap here looking awesome on different parts of the shoulders on the back of the arms all these gray sections coming through from the inner frame really give this a whole lot of extra character looks Savage lastly then we do have that big old real grade sheet of stickers once again there are multiple types on here that's the silver kind that catch the light make some parts look a little bit more mechanical and there's the decal style as for the mechanical silver type there's one on the arm there they catch the light look cool we've got some down here on the sides of the legs looking good and nicely placed one around here on the back brakes of this yellow part a lot it might be hard to see but there are a couple more in there oh there we go looking very very nice and by far the coolest of the bunch are these ones that are hidden inside here this Oh I didn't mean to pull it off but there they are so this does not have that green psycho frame transformation that we had with the new Gundam verka but what it does have is something like this so this is the only part of the model that has this but there is a couple of other opening hatches and stuff we will take a look at later spoiler there's some up here in the shoulders like that right there these little pull down sections in here potential heavy weapon system incoming maybe but yeah these are pretty cool these actually pop out when you move it around like so so you get a bit of a look in there at those pretty rad after the decal style a lot of these aren't fitted towards the parts like we would have seen with a lot of real grades before we do have the a Moreau symbol up there in the shoulder somewhat angle to this but not entirely but on the white you can't really see the edges on the stickers on the navy blue you definitely can but once again with this kit if you like your decals you will not be let down and honestly I only used very very few of these and it still looks fantastic Coward see what it looks like with every single one of these attached but anyway under the accessories and speaking of which there is the real great new gun and when absolutely everything that it comes with so in here of course you've got that big old fin funnel wing that is made of six individual fin funnels a threw weapons in here we've got the beam rifle new hyper bazooka two beam sabers with an extra beam the shield and besides those then we've got that base adapter as well as the pair of fists we've seen on the new Gundam already we've got a pair of holding hands pair of widespread open hands and one right hand trigger finger so he's not ambidextrous and lastly then we've got a 140 fort scale and more array first up in here we do have the beam rifle and real grade weapons always tend to impress this is even better-looking than the master grade one it makes it look so plain so this has a bit of a grey intersection which does come through much like on the bot itself you can see that in the cabling section up top these little sections on the side and all-in-all this looks absolutely ridiculously awesome also unlike the Master Grade we've got this yellow section in the front there and we've got this little fold out tab right there on the side so when this isn't in use just drop this but piece it comes down just like so inside there we have the attachment point and just pop that then into that butt hole just like that right there that is pretty damn awesome like I mentioned earlier on there is only one holding hand for the long-range weapons that is this right hand trigger finger here it's pretty much like a high-grade hand there is no real great style ones in here anymore which is a good thing and that just pops onto that tab in the palm of the hand and this section then connects back on just like so also worth noting here that the build is solid and this is never ever gonna droop very nice next up then is the shield I have applied to the decals on here I have not pan aligned it but there is a whole lot of extra little detail in here that is just begging to be pan aligned as you can see the gray sections are coming through once again flip around to the other side mainly in gray here we've got those red missiles the beam gun section down here at the end and as for moving parts it is quite simple just rotation of this section here when this isn't in use or should I say when it's very in use it attaches onto the back of the forearm just like this here and there is an example as usual of what it will look like with the beam rifle and the shield up on your shelf once it's finished once again that is without the fin funnel wing which we look at very very soon but all in all looking awesome next up down in here we've got the new hyper bazooka and this isn't the exact same colors once again that's white gray and navy blue and red to minions however we do not have a clear apart for the sight on here it's just a foreign sticker as you can see right there as removing parts you've got this handle that can move forward and back like this that's got your standard tab hole there this can extend just like so and we've also got this little flip out tab up here for storage that flips out like that also it is worth noting you can see through this little segment here that's interesting when this isn't in use with that little tab we just saw that can slot into this little hole in between the backpack segments this is extremely recessed which means it stores in there very nicely and that attaches into the hand the exact same way we saw with the beam rifle so into the tab all of this is built perfectly nice and strong and this little segment then attaches on once again that also compared to the master grade I find this sits a little better up on the shoulder all in all looking pretty damn good next up in here then we've got a pair of beam sabers the first one is as standard as they come just a standard handle it is made out of two parts and a standard beam the second one then of course is unique to new Gundam this is double ended with a larger broader beam for the main business and a smaller point ear beam for the less main business end and as usual with the news beam saver this little segment can flip up just like that in here we have a pair of holding hands for holding the beam sabers so that means it can hold both at the same time and speaking of holding both at the same time this is exactly what that will look like and what it will look like up on your shelf and I will also mention right here that this beam saber the main one is not loose like the one that came with the verka this is also built tight and perfect it's also worth noting and I almost forgot these particular hands here the ones for holding the beam sabers have an extra bit of articulation at the wrist that the other hands do not have when the main one is not in use just pop out the beams top and bottom and that then just stores right up here up in the shoulder in that old-school Gundam way as for the more basic saber pump off that beam once again you're left with this little guy and this stores way in my absolute favorite spot for storing beam sabers the back of the arm so that pops out like so there's a little peg in there you pump that in to make sure the slots pointing in the way don't miss okay so if you do slide this part back and then try to attach this in it will push the little section in there out of there so you're gonna want to not have this slid out when you put this in unless you want to drop that little part so you want to do that when it's still slid in figured I mean even still this can be a little bit on the awkward side anyway there we go I've got it attached slide it out push it in slide it into place super awesome but a little bit finicky so next up and what definitely makes this kit better than the Master Grade is the fact that the wing actually works this is not gonna fall apart on you it holds together really well and the mechanism on here is simple but smart let's pop one off so you can see so this right here is what it looks like fully extended and inside of this little center segment here we do have one of those little MS joint pieces I'll pop one up on the screen now so you can see the general gist of what it looks like this is a lot sturdier than what we would have seen with the one that came with the verka this does not move it won't fall out of position like with the verka and on top of that the mechanisms in the side of it are better too so there is a definite top and a definite bottom to this this section up here with these moving little pieces that you can see here in all these little holes that is the top and the bottom segment here does not have any of that whatsoever so that's the part that folds up for the folded up sections you might find that it does this sometimes that it kind of pokes out like this but just give it a good old squeeze right down at the bottom and there you go absolutely perfect so as for the mechanism here we've got two parts that flip out we've got this peg here that flips out like so and we've got this other one up here that flips out just like this so we've got a regular peg and the circular connecting segment for those do you want to know exactly what this looks like inside these are the two parts this can rotate either direction but it can only really be used one way and this is the little peg segment there so it is a better setup than what we saw with the verka so then how this ends up connecting to it is there is two ways so of course when the wing is attached these are staggered like so so these are at the same level these are at the same level so this can't attach on two ways so that's into this hole and this little bar segment or this hole and this little bar segment which is created by the rear segment of this so that just connects in at two different parts like that and that is a nice tight connection they definitely refined this right here also it's smaller so it has to carry less weight so win-win so anyway that is the wing right there once it's fully assembled all of these are the attachment points for attaching it to the back and that just attaches onto this little segment up here once again just like we saw with the master grade so snaps are nice and securely also I forgot to mention it and show it with the rest of the accessories but we do have a second one of those four double fin funnel mode and speaking of which no surprise the add-on is gonna be premium bandar-e only and honestly I want be all that interested in this I do like the asymmetrical wing personally but this does come with a big red omoro base so that is quite cool this does look like it's a master grade one if you look at the size right there compared to the real grade but at this time around it's in red mmm looking good so next up then and my least favorite aspect about this kit is this action base adaptor and as it stands it's a fine adapter but you whip out your action base ready to rock and not fit you need to actually use this particular adapter that comes with the action base and if you're like me more than likely you've lost it by now lucky enough I did happen to find it only then will this particular adapter fit like that so that doesn't mean if you have misplaced this or you've got well a different action base that doesn't come with that particular part or you find that Bandai's action bases are a bit of a pain in the butt to use during a review and want to use something like this well you can't stuck with this one but sighs a bit of a minor gripe though this thing works absolutely fine much better than what we saw on the verka first it attaches onto the backpack with this little attachment point here and then both the action base adapter and the backpack attach onto the bot like this so it is an extremely secure connection and it's pretty good in the end it is also shaped to allow the bazooka to be attached onto the backpack so that is a very positive point anyway finally there it is up on the action base with the wing fully loaded with some weapons and all in all for a real grade this does look fantastic there it is side by side with the Sasabe once again and these guys make an awesome pair and awesome pair without a doubt when it comes to small-scale Gunpla I don't think there's much else besides the Sasabe that looks this phenomenal so now into the last segment of the review and of course this is the articulation and so far so good and I can tell you this is good too the built in general actually the entirety of this build is perfect no loose parts no fiddly bits this is not gonna loosen up those older real grades with early real grades syndrome the ones with the pre-built frame that gets all loose and stuff but anyway from the head down I'm rambling so first up at the neck we've got a ball joint here a ball joint here and this next segment rocks back and forth to give you a little bit more so it's got one hell of a giggity giggity giggity giggity goo I don't do that too much so that is head all the way up head all the way down damn there is that side to side pivot that can rotate all the way around moving over to the shoulder now and it can move all the way forward like this all the way back like that this is a very very nice joint wait there's more this whole thing pulls out just like that to give you even more so that means we do have to ask the question can it fold its arms pretty much and just look how awesome that looks especially if the shoulders flaring up like that epic definitely bringing some G Gundam realness right there next up there is the arm all the way up and that literally goes all the way up that full 360 degrees spin as usual the shoulder armor can move independently to the arm not as usual though it has this little flap mechanism like this which allows it to move up at both the front as well as the back so it does not get in the way the arm even when you don't move the shoulder armor out of the way that's pretty cool this little nub bit that's left over also features a little bit of up-and-down articulation we've got that full rotation at the upper arm ridiculously good bend at the elbow look at that you cannot ask for more the standard wrists are just ball joints but we've got a little bit extra right there and like I mentioned earlier on the once after using with the beam saber have a little bit more again inside the wrist itself so that can go up a lot are you sick of your Gundam torsos doing next to nothing well this will not disappoint look it goes from all the way back there to the ab crunch round here that is in sane getting too excited about that of course there is rotation right there as you'd expect but what you might not expect it even has more Virk - to it these little segments can pull out and forward just like this it has no psycho frame but it is able to move forward these little hatches just like in the shoulder and we've got these guys under here that pop out and down like this so these are actually on a bit of a pivot so it actually looks like this might unlock even more articulation yes it does look how far that bit comes out damn this is not what you're looking at right here is the gobbler god of articulation this is insane and it isn't even loose to boot damn band I brought it to the next level right here sit now down to the skirting armor this on a ball joint so it can move up out of the way like this or it can swing out of the way like so as with a side skirt once again up down and that can rotate forward and back nothing gets in the way actually you can go all the way up all the way around completely and if that wasn't enough both of these are attached and even more articulated inside there it doesn't give a whole lot but it gives you a bit more add it's awesome back here we've got a double premium butt flap and that is not even the half of it when it comes to the waist section in here so pull off the leg here so we can see what's going on and in here we can drop this little flap here which will allow these parts to drop out like so so you can drop the legs down which will give you more of a kick up in all directions pull down this section we've pulled down before unclip this upper part you might need something to do that with because it does hold in quite tight unclip that out like so the front crotch section pulls out like that might be a little hard to see I'll drop this down so you can see that has now pulled out there's the original position there is it pull out and now this whole upper part of the waist unit allows this to tilt forward even further which is kind of like that secret bit of articulation in the Sasabe so that allows it to tilt even more forward with this awesome ab crunch already so you get a whole lot if you do all the reverse again you can lock it in position leaning forward but I'm not gonna do that right now I'm just gonna put it back to the way that it was also I just realized there is a rocking mechanism that rocks everything north of this point right here so that is even more holy hell I keep finding more in this look at this there's side to side up on the torso there's side to side down seriously this is ridiculous anyway on to the kicks there it is kicking all the way up to the front the front armor does get in the way there a little bit but once you move out to the side of that it kicks up quite a bit if you want to kick up this high just drop it into the lower position they're pretty damn good there is the kick out to the back a little bit blocked of course by the bot armor with the side skirting armors moved up out of the way there is the splits beyond the splits damn of course we've got full rotation at the upper leg next up then there is the bend at the knee and oh my god I said before that this is like a mini master grade-a 144th scale master great but I have not seen this gimmick in a master grade for a long long time so we've got that splitting thigh armor on here as well as that this little bit of armour here does open up on the knee when you bend that a full extension look at that that is absolutely mesmerizing I was about to say that this doesn't really move that much only ever so slightly with that little burner in there but I noticed once again when you bend the leg that also shifts once you get to the very end of that extension there goes pretty cool man there's so much packed into this I keep forgetting just like I mentioned before these sections in the front skirting armor can pop down like that that does look like we might be seeing a heavy weapon system in future as well as that kind of mini transformation these segments can pull out ever so slightly would have been nice if to put a little bit of those metallic stickers in there like we have down further it's still pretty cool I can do that all of those can do that next up then we've this absolutely epic ankle when you move it down like this this armor section separates out so look at that in all of its glory so that of course is connected just to this movement here which is not the ankle it's a bit above the ankle as to the ankle itself that can roll and point the toe almost completely so that's all the way down there is all the way up we do have a bend at the toe there is the bend right there there it is all the way down so up down up down then we have that pivot side to side just like so and as always like we usually do let's pull up this leg down to see that full functional movement when the new is standing on the ground so there is it all the way to the front so not a whole lot there it is all the way out to the back so that is a lot and the most important one of course is in the way so we do have a lot there can we get any more out of there any more at all that seems to be the limit but that is still pretty cool and all the way to the outside is a little less it seems oh that is because the armour here is asymmetrical it's a little wider towards the outside and a little less wide towards the inside to allow for more inward movement while protecting the joint from the outside that's an awesome design man it's not over I forgot this does have an opening cockpit mechanism in here it opens up like so you can see in there no pilot figure and also if the choice of opening it up just the red door section there so that closes just like that around on the backpack then this part pivots in and out that's for with the wing of course segment holding the beam saber that can pivot at that point as well and we do have these little armor segments that can move out like so these are the sort of things Bandai does not necessarily need to do they're so simple but they just show how much attention to detail they have also these verniers can move up like that when the armors moved so beautiful honestly there's not a whole lot I can say here all hail the new king of Gunpla articulation it is the best so that is it for the review and what can I say this is spectacular and it goes without saying and it's pretty obvious and I guess you know already this is Gandhari immed here is it better or worse than last year's Sasabe well that is definitely debatable they're very very different kits very different sized kits and all in all it's hard to say let me know what you think down there in the comments which you think it's better this or Sasabe everything about this is absolutely fantastic 10 out of 10 all round 11 out of 10 all around that's why it's gundarr emptier case you've forgotten or don't know what gun darian tear is it means it's better than the best as in this does not feel like a real grade this feels like a shrank down master grade and then some because I don't know if there's a master grade around with articulation this good everything is perfect it looks mesmerizingly beautiful it's solid as a rock the articulation is out of this world and when it comes to accessories it doesn't really leave you wanting unless you want that big bass with the parts of the funnels and the extra wing but then again you could buy those separately it still works with them and I'm expecting some kind of heavy weapon system sometime in the future but all in all I have to say this is required building if you're a Gunpla builder it is perfect absolutely perfect you're missing out if you do not try this out but anyway that is it for the review thank you so much for watching if you do want one of your own there is a link down there in the description you can get yours at hobby like Japan I would very appreciate it if you left it like it really does help out the channel make sure to come back for more Gunpla reviews and i'll see you next time and of course I can't end this video right here without thanking each and every one of you guys that supports me including my channel members and patrons and a special shout-out to my gundarr iam tier patrons including Kaiser 71 Samuel Sebastian vex and bull wick once again see you on discord
