hi i'm dr sakim mansour and this is my channel learning acne i'm presenting you with the a new topic and that to form the head and neck and particularly this is from head and that is the temporal religion so today's topic is temporal and particularly emphasizing on the temporal fossa we will discuss in detail the anatomy of the temporal fossa so temporal region is the lateral area of the scalp this is the temporal fossa you know and this all is the temporal lesion over here and we remember from my discussion on my video lecture with you on the scalp that the extent of the scalp was from here to the supraorbital origin to the superior knuckle lines and inferiorly to this psychomatic arch so this part also overlaps this temporal legion temporal fossa with the scalp so this is the lateral aspect of the scalp and this shaded area this is the temporal fossa is all you see this is the temporal fossa so the temporal legion comprises of lateral area of the scalp and the deeper soft tissues which overlay that temporal fossa so of course the temporal fossa is an area lying above this zygomatic arch so now we will study the uh boundaries of the zygomatic of this temporal force of boundaries of the temporal fossa and let's see and focus on various aspects so this is the you know this is a zygomatic arch you studied it already um in much detail in my lecture on normal lateralis you can see in my playlist or in my upload videos that this is for seven a very detailed discussion on the normal lateralis where this was a zygomatic arch formation so this is a zygomatic arch you recall and the temporal lines superior and inferior temporal lines so like the superior and indian four inferior temporal lines they arise from this a frontal bone it's a zygomatic process zygomatic process of the frontal bone and they are superiorly and backwards and go there and the speedier temporal arch fades away uh on this parietal moon and this inferior temporal line continues inferior temporal line continues and it uh gets up to the supra metal um crest supra destroyed crest this is the supra mastoid crest so right these are the two temporal lines period temporal line and the inferior temporal lines start from this our zygomatic process of the frontal bone and our shepherd and across the suture the coronal suture and thus they reach this parietal bone and the superior temporal line fails away procedurally and the inferior temporal line goes up posteriorly downwards and reaches this supra mastoid crest right and this is the floor of the forcer and this is formed by these four bones which you can identify over here and i think the better identified even here so this is the four bones first of all this is a frontal bone and this is the creator wing of the sphenoid and then this is the temporal moon and this is the parietal hole so these are four bones and they contribute and meet at the point which is the td on this this is the tdn already discussed in detail in the normal naturalist in the craniometery so when we study craniometry so this is a very very important point the td on because below it lies the anterior branch of the middle meningeal artery along with the corresponding vein and below still deeper to that is the very important you know sulcus lateral sulcus of the brain so this is the td on importance already mentioned in detail and we're just recapitulating for you the td on importance so these four moons meet here at tyrion and they form the floor so this is the main portion of the floor contributed by this these four bones so this is the floor and here then the speedily are the temporal lines period and inferior temporal line and in front you see yourself this is the frontal bone of course the zygomatic process and then this is a zygomatic bone itself you can say it's a frontal process and on the lateral aspect this is the zygomatic bone on the lateral aspect it is the zygomatic bone which is you know formed by this diagrammatic process of the temporal bone this and this is the our temporal process of the psychometric so they complete the zygomatic arch so this is the lateral boundary and the medial boundary of this temporal fossa is formed by this structure infrared temporal crest here it lies that infrared temporal crest so obviously this is infrared temporal crest above that is the temporal fossa and below that is the infra temporal fossa here you could see above the zygomatic arch is the temporal fossa and below is the infra temporal fossa shown over here and in this bone the zygomatic arch and the ramus of the mandible they are removed which are present you can see zygomatic arch and the remnants of the mandible are present over here and they are removed particularly they are removed in this picture to show clearly the infrared temporal crest which is a medial boundary of the our temporal fossa you see and the roof of the this temporal fossa is formed by the fish the temporal fascia and the floor is mostly occupied by the temporalis muscle here is we attach the temporalis muscle which is the muscle of the mastication as a triangular in shape and it will be discussed in detail with the muscles of the mastication which is a separate topic and to the this is zygomatic moon and it's lower uh you know surfaces attach the uh messenger muscle i'll show you a picture yes over here this is you see this is a legomatic art and this is the temporalis muscle over here uh shown after the removal of the temporal fission this is the temporal fascia which is attached to the like the superior temporal line this temporal fascia attached to the superior temporal line and below that the temporal fascia here it is attached to the zygomatic arch here the temporal fascia splits into two layers and the medial a part of that lamina which is split the temporal facial part medial part is attached to the medial aspect of the zygomatic medial surface of the zygomatic arcs and the lateral lamina is attached to the lateral surface of the um the psychomatic arch so this is the point of the temporal facial so very tough fascia and this is uh over the seater muscle these are two powerful muscles and you can feel their muscles contracting when you clench your teeth to clench your teeth and you feel the contraction so this powerful muscle machine when it contracts it pulls and this temporal fascia so this is the fascia is treated by this messenger muscle so it offers resistance this temporal fascia offers resistance to the power of the procedure contraction so that is it as you could see and here you also identify this superficial temporal artery i will enumerate for you in that the contents of the um temporal fossa so this was few words about the about this boundaries and let's revise boundaries again so i told you interior is the frontal and the zygomatic bones posteriorly and superior the temporal lines spirit and inferior temporal lines lateral is a zygomatic arch and inferior laser infra temporal crest told you already in these two pictures is quite evident right i told you already in detail showed you what is interiorly this is the interior this is the floor and this is a lateral and this is a above and posterior superiorly and posteriorly so this is the temporal lines this is a point i'm quickly going through that again and again so inferiorly i told you is the infra temporal crest yes this is inferior immediately and laterally is the uh you know our zygomatic arch so this is the point floor i told you four bones forming the cheerion frontal temporal parietal and greater wing of the sphenoid again you can see this this is the tedion this is frontal bone this is the parietal bone this is the temporal bone and this is the greater wing of the sweener meat here by an h-shaped suture at the uh the studio on the lateral aspect of the skull which is the part of the this temporal fossa tyrion cranial music point which is you know it's a measurement of skin like dragma and such things stupidion and also the asterion so these are all stringent cream you meet your skull so then this i told you already the floor and this is the uh roof you see right so temporal fascia also gave origin to this temporalis the temporalis muscle takes origin from the bony floor and the overlying temporal fascia so this is the point and this is again you see the this temporalis muscle and this is the our messenger muscle attached to that this inferior surface of this psychometric arch so can we are concerned today with the temporalis muscle present inside this temporal fossa this is the content very important content of the temporal fossa along with this temporal fascia which covers it this is uh already told you temporal fascia it's described right so this is the thing and so finally in few words uh i have to mention the contents of fosa the temporal fossa what does it contains the temporal force are temporalis muscle the most important content is the temporalis muscle which is a muscle mastication and you can feel it while you clatch your teeth for example to identify that and its nerve supply you know by the vishnu which you see all these muscles of classification supplied by the trigeminal system paralyzed muscle is spread by that and this is a deep temporal nerves present in this fossa display the temporalis muscle so in the contents we see temporalis muscle and the deep temporal nerves which is like the temporalis muscle so a detailed account i'm telling you again and again of all these muscles temporalis and then messager and the lateral terry go ahead and the medial terry guide will be done in a separate topic with you i will discuss when muscles of mastication they help in domestication chewing food and also in articulation so that is the point that is the middle temporal largely present in that fosa middle temporal artery and then they see deep temporal lottery in that fosa temporal fossa and in the last you can see zygomatico temporal nerve and the artery zygomatico temporal nerve and the zygomatic temporal artery you can see always this is psychomatic or temporal foramen in the anterior aspect of this fossa somewhere over here i showed you in the normal lateralis you can go back and you can see over here this perspective containing the picture over here you can go to that lecture normally trailers you can find the the cygmatic official oraman separate picture so this was the discussion of the our temporal fosa with its all these contents this temporalis middle temporal lottery deep temporal artery zygomatic temporal nerve and artery and the deep temporal lobes which supply the temporalis muscle so that completes uh today's short discussion of the temporal fossa and also related with that fosa is the infra temporal fossa and that will discuss in a separate topic and we know that temporal and infra temporal fossa communicate with each other via this gap you know this is a zygomatic arts this is the latin surface there's a gap in between that and this is the communication they're the uh this is the infrared and plural crest which forms uh you know boundary line demarcation between that and below is the our infra temporal fossa this is a temporal fossa and they communicate via ease cap and also present in that aspect is the uh carigo paladin fosa which also will discuss in a separate topic telego paletine i've already shown you its picture and some details in the normal literalist discussion so with this i and i thank you very much for listening to this uh topic and uh from the next time hopefully i will discuss with you the triangle which would be your uh this triangle would be the anterior triangle of the neck so till then goodbye thank you very much take care stay safe and stay home that is the message for you good
