Improving French Learning With Chat GPT

I'm GNA walk you through two methods I use with chat gpt's free app to totally change how I learn French the first we got a little stickies here first is weakness training so there are a lot of Concepts that I'm not that great at and constantly struggle with in French for me in French it's the difference between the two past tense uh there's P compose and imp par in English it's like the difference between I walked and I was walking and so I use the app like this so go into the app press the little headphone thing all right I want you to give me English sentences that I'm going to translate into French using either the impar and the pass compose give me simple sentences with one verb to do this um if I get it incorrect you're going to correct me and tell me the correct way to do it uh and if I got it correct you're going to tell me it's correct and then you're going to give me another sentence and we're going to keep going like this um here's the first sentence for you to translate I was reading a book close but to use the impar tense correctly it should be here's the next sentence she ate dinner correct well done so if if you're not fast enough you can also hold down the screen and it'll just wait until you release it so that's sometimes good when you're struggling uh to respond the thing about weakness training is it's not going to replace your French class or maybe even your du lingo where they're teaching you sort of these structured Concepts but it's going to allow you to just get the Reps you need in between classes so like especially with the voice function like you could do this uh by typing on chat GPT before but with the voice function you can just hammer it home all the time you hear it you're responding to it it's just like what you're going to be doing when you're going to be actually using the language in the country you go into um and this is just going to make you have rapid progress in all these areas as opposed to sort of doing a couple pieces of homework only maybe getting like at best 12 different practice sentences you're going to be doing hundreds by the time that next course rolls around and you'll really have have it solidified in your head the second way I use this app is situation simulation when you go to another country and you want to use their language you're going to be in like a number of different situations uh one of them is maybe you're going to meet someone for the first time and you want to explain who you are and answer their questions so what you can do is something like this okay I want you to ask me uh questions that someone would would ask me if they were first meeting me and uh I'm going to be responding to you you're going to be asking me in French I'm going to be responding in French uh and we're just going to keep doing this and and have a conversation where I sort of explain things about me uh and you get to know me Trevor uh C just YouTuber so you can just go on and on like that and you can do any sort of situation you're thinking of like ordering a meal or asking for directions I mean all the conversations you're going to have especially as a tourist like when we go travel to different countries and try to learn about them are going to be structured around different situations where you're either trying to transact or you're trying to understand or connect with someone um and you can easily just simulate those and uh and when you get into the real situation you'll you'll be well prepared prepared you'll have maybe the range of vocabulary that you'll need and you'll understand the types of questions that are going to come your way as well so I think this is totally going to change the way that I learn languages hopefully it gives me more depth when we go to foreign lands and learn about other cultures and uh hopefully you try it out as well
