Comparing Vivo X200 Pro Portrait Mode

[Music] today we got the Vivo X200 Pro versus a real camera in portrait mode this is one of the most requested videos you guys have asked me so let's get into [Music] it so the cool thing about this phone is they put the high resolution High megapixel sensor in the telephoto camera I think that's why everyone ke kept telling me to review this phone so it's 85 mm but then you can also do a sensor crop to 13 5 mm so I think that that's what we're going to start with is the 85 mm lens and I'll get this thing at 85 and we're shooting at f2.8 I'm so cold all right here we go by the way it's like - 10 out here and who knows it might even be colder 3 2 1 nice three two one looks so good it looks so [Music] good that wind is not fun maybe the coat isn't as warm as we think cuz it's not real fur all right here we go we're going to start with the phone this time three two one hold it three two one hold it okay so I wanted I'm going to switch to the 135 mil option here this is going to be like a tight head shot so I don't know if you want to bring the MS into the frame o that's sick okay one more 3 two 1 camera 3 two 1 it's crazy how sharp it is it's crazy how the hair is not being cut out it's keeping every strand I don't know what magic they're doing yeah that's going to look sick all right here we go 3 two 1 keep holding 3 two 1 love that that's such a sick [Music] shot this phone has really impressive specs it's got a Media Tech dimensity 9400 6.8 in ltpo OLED 120 HZ display with a peak brightness of 4500 nits 16 gigs of RAM and when it comes to the camera system it's got a 15 mm F2 50 megap Ultra wide a 23mm f1.6 50 megap main camera and that telephoto camera is 85 mm F 2.7 at 200 megapixels and that's also the macro camera which is way smarter than putting it in the ultra wide and overall it's just a really Snappy phone it's so cold out here so as I mentioned this is the most requested video I think I've ever seen like you guys literally comment on whatever video it is Vivo X200 Pro you don't even say anything else so I really hope you guys enjoy this video and actually share it and you guys are right it's it's really good all right so I'm going to shoot waist up I'm going to stand in this really precarious ice I'm showing I'm showing down to your hands yeah looks nice here we go 3 two 1 keep holding 3 two one so take that it's nice all right here we go still in the 50 3 2 1 hold it 3 two 1 [Music] nice all right so I'm going to go 35 which is a bit wider and that's kind of the max that this lens can go anyway cuz lens is 35 to 150 I'm doing uh pregnancy breathing so cold at least we don't have to worry about overheating all right here we go uh down to your feet three two one keep holding 3 two one nice the colors look so good so they give you a lot of portrait mode options you get your 23 mm a 35 mm and then a 50 mm which would be like a 2X crop on that main sensor then it jumps to the 85 mm telephoto and then you also have another crop at 135 which looks amazing for portraits so I just want to jump in here real quick and talk about today's sponsor and that's art list now art list is basically a One-Stop shop for everything creative it's where I get my royaltyfree music from it's where I get my stock footage from now they just came out with a new plugin for Premiere Pro and I want to show you guys so let's check it out I have a project loaded in here and I've already downloaded The artless Hub plugin so we're going to go up to window we're going to go to extensions and I'm going to go to artless library and then it pops up a window here you have music sound effects voice over and footage now there's no footage yet but it's coming soon and that'll be pretty dope to be able to have your stock footage right inside the premiere but since we're looking for music I'm going to go back to music and then just like the website you have genre video theme and mood and for genre I'm going to go to like hip hop but the cool thing is you can actually sync it to your time line so we're going to come down here where it says timeline sync turn that on and now when you play back your track you'll hear it in line with the actual timeline footage as well pixel sensor in the telephoto camera I think that's why everyone ke kept telling me to review this phone so once you find the track you actually like you only have to drag it down in the timeline so just click on it drag it down in the timeline here and it shows up in a new track and it's as easy as that anyway that's the art list Hub plugin for premere pro it's pretty dope having it built into Premiere you don't have to go to the website search for music download the music import the music only to find out that you don't really love how it sounds in the timeline which happens all the time if you want to learn more make sure to check out the link in the description so on most phones the f-stop usually stops around like f1.4 of their like fake bokeh but on this phone you can actually go to f95 which is crazy there aren't too many lenses that can actually do that in the real world but if we do that like it just blurs the background it's like it looks so fake I so I wouldn't suggest doing that I'd stick around at like F4 to f2.8 otherwise it's just going to look Way Too Fake so we we've been staying at f2.8 just so that it matches the camera but the other cool thing is is that because they partnered with zece you have all these different options for lens emulation I guess you could say like getting the bokeh from those different lenses so you have uh biotar be speed sonar planar distagon then they've got like this fake C flare where it puts in a Flare from like a fake Sun don't recommend that um I've just been leaving on natural because that's what looks the most natural and if you want to do like triangular or like hexagonal bokeh you can do that that's pretty cool if you stand on the end of the dock just don't fall don't slip this is the most Canadian thing ever someone shoveled out a hockey rink out of the lake so one really cool thing about this phone is that they have a high res portrait mode option so typically it's always just 12 megapixels but I think we can get like a 50 megapixel shot out of this but you have to hold still it's kind of like when you're doing night mode how it like counts down so we'll try that so you're going to hold this 3 two 1 so it looks like a 2 second thing so keep holding two one so this camera is actually 50 megapixel so now will have a really fair comparison there but it's going to look crazy like how sharp that is so I guess this mode is actually just for closeup high res detail and it's in the portrait mode option so I assumed it was a high-res portrait but as you can see there's no background bokeh if you compare it to the real camera but that does have its natural boka which does look pretty good and it's just so sharp how you feeling good freezing all right so do you want to do one where you're laying down in the snow do you want me to grab that other Shaw thing so we can bring it up around your face Winter's coming John Snow tucking me in all right so this is the high res shot three two 1 one 3 two one outside of how sharp the detail is it really comes down to the color the colors are amazing this is straight out of the phone compared to a Sony which is just a JPEG with some slight white balance changes and it looks so good so crunchy okay here we go three two one keep holding three two one nice I can't hit the button my hands so like frozen solid okay 3 two one okay three two one keep holding that three two one I got to zoom out a little bit on this one more three two one this is actually a really challenging scene for portrait mode because there's so much going on behind you I'm really curious how it's dealing with it do you want to bring your hands up in frame again kind of like you had it yeah and then bring your left arm up just hand up just a little bit more all right here we go three two one one more 3 two one keep holding that love it switching to 135 mm is so much better because it really blurs the background out and like kind of pulls it in amazing I think we got tons of really good shots here all right let's get out of here it's too cold so far the portrait shots look insane like I'm I'm Blown Away with how they look and I actually think that this phone probably deserves another video just going over all of the camera features because the camera system in this phone is insanely impressive and it's too bad you can't actually buy this in North America because it would definitely put a fire under the butts of like the big three like apple Google and Samsung to actually start getting a little bit more competitive and doing crazy stuff like this one other thing I'd like to mention is that it processes those portrait mode images really fast uh the Mei Tech diensi 9400 crushing it here but if we take a look at this specific image on the left you can see that the portrait mode bokeh goes all the way down to the ground and the right side it's not there which is how it should be and for some reason it's not figuring out the depth mapping but in terms of cutting out the subject it does a great job all right guys thanks for watching that's the end of the video that was the X200 Pro versus a professional camera thanks to Stella thanks to Joe thanks to Rema if you like this video give it a thumbs up if you dislike this video give it a thumbs down twice don't forget to hit that notification Bell see you
