Guide to the Skin Taper Fade Haircut

what's going on feder culture I'm going to show youall step by step how to take this haircut from this to this so let's jump right into [Music] it all right guys so before beginning any haircut you always want to comb through it and kind of lay it down into its natural position State before starting in and setting in your guidelines so here I'm going to go ahead and start setting in my first guideline with my trimmer to lay it down as Bal as possible and then just make sure you lay it down where you want your Fade to start here I start at the tempo peak of the hairline and then I kind of lead it to the top of his ear and then for the second guideline I open the lever on the Clipper and then just come up about a/ in from that previous line as you see here and when I'm laying down these guidelines guys keep in mind that I'm not pressing on the Clipper too hard and I'm only moving up and down in a normal fashion I'm not using the Clipper too soft or I'm not using it too hard and then for the next guideline I'm going to go ahead and throw on the number one guard still leaving that lever all the way open and then I'm going just go ahead and lay down my next guideline coming up about a/ in from that previous line and all you're doing is making sure that it runs parallel from the previous line next I'm going to go ahead and throw on the number 1 and 1/2 clip with that lever still fully open and here I'm not so much worried about setting in a guideline I'm just getting rid of the rest of this bulk that you see here and I'm going just and since we have a little bit of space that's left to blend into we just see now I'm going to start kind of flaring out the Clipper kind of imitating the direction that this comb takes me this is the natural uh direction that the head wants to lead me to so that's exactly what I'mma follow and you see how I'm just flaring out right here and this here I'm just doing it in a slow manner so yall can understand what I'm doing and then whatever is left up in bulk I'll just flip the Clipper upside down and kind of finish trimming it that [Music] way and just so yall do know we do have all these steps in ritten format down in the description along with all the links to all the tools and products that we do use so go ahead and check them out if y'all like to see that now I'm going to go ahead and throw on my half clip and I'm going to position the lever to 3/4 and the lever at 3/4 is just right in between the lever being fully open and halfway open and then you see here we have two guidelines left that we need to blend out we're going to start by blending out that top guideline first and that's where I'm going to use this guard right here that we just put on and see here that I'm using the Clipper and it with the corners just so I get in there in a more detailed fashion so I can better blend out um that line as smooth as possible possible and then whatever this guard don't take out I'm going to throw on the number one guard lever at 3/4 and uh just finish taking out or blending out the rest of that guideline it usually takes me two guards these two guards to blend out so um just use those two guards until you get that line Blended out and then you can proceed with doing the same thing on the back and the opposite side as you see here again I'm going to throw on that half clip put that lever at 3/4s and and basically just start blending out the initial start of that guideline moving up about a/4 in in space at a time I'm not trying to take this guard up too high cuz we don't want to take the fade up too high you see here I'm repeating the exact same steps on the left side of his Temple and then like I said whatever this don't take out right here I threw the one guard back on with the lever still at 34s to finish taking out and blending into the top length um using the corner of the Clipper and now we're left with that last guideline to blend out and I'm going start taking it out with the Clipper lever fully closed and then you're only again moving up about a/4 in in space to start softening up that guideline and then you see here I open the lever halfway continue blending up a little bit higher and then open it all the way to finish taking out that guideline and blending it into the rest of the fade by the time you get to this guard it should be real minimal um that you need a take out so just kind of keep that in mind and then we'll move on and proceed with doing the exact same steps on the back side but since the back is a longer space to blend out you see that I just started kind of focusing on one section at a time and then I move I started with the right side then I blended out the middle side I mean the middle part and then I went and started or finished off by blending out the left side and then just repeat the exact same steps on the left Tempo area starting with the Clipper lever closed then halfway and then fully open till that first guideline is Blended out completely and then we can proceed by taking out the rest of the bottom of the hair with our trimmers before we come in with our electric shaver to shave it out and it's always important that when you're cutting clients that have wavy or curly hair that you ask them if it's okay for you to use the electric shaver cuz they should tell you how their skin reacts to um shaving some people might break out with uh a lot of ingrown hairs and stuff like that so as you may only be able to go as short as the trimmer lets you if that makes sense but if they let you use the electric shaver and they want you to then you go ahead and do so and now here we're basically just doing any touch-up work so just take a step back look at the fade and kind of just determine where you where else you feel like you need to clean up me for me personally I feel like I always need to come back in with a half guard at 34s and I'll come in and touch up in areas and then occasionally you'll see that I take off the guard and kind of just clean it up wherever I feel I need to and then now we just recb the hair down so we can start doing the the lineup and I do zero Gap all my tools guys and that's just so that my tools can cut as sharp as possible there's a video down in the description that shows you and explains what zero gapping is and how to do it same thing with the front hairline make sure you comb it all the way down before you start sitting in that box in the front I always kind of start from the sides just to set in my vertical bars first and then I get a good broad view of the front before I kind of lay down my initial guide in the middle and then just lead it to either side first just trying to move across his forehead as straight as possible um all right guys so now that we're done with the fade and we're done with the lining up process I'm going to go ahead and start prepping my Turkish razor again you can find all our tools and our products at fed culture.com like to snap off the edges of each of these razors so that it's a little easier get it in there you slide it in at your preferred exposure and then you're ready to go and then I'm going to apply some of our faded culture shaving gel onto all the edges that I will be shaving all right so for those that have watched this far I'm going to be doing a $100 giveaway uh to the first person or not even I'm going to choose a random winner to anybody that's following our four Instagram pages that I have linked right here I have them down in the description as well all you got to do is be following the four pages and then just comment on this video your IG handle and then you must have some sort of uh electronic payment format like Apple pay or cash app and I'm going just go ahead and pick a random winner and gift y'all the $100 so good luck but then here as you see guys when I'm shaving I'm just tugging on the skin with the opposite hand to help that razor slide with ease and also the Shaving gel helps with that as well so that you don't or so that you prevent any kind of razor burn or um cuts on the [Music] skin and this part is optional but if you'all like to enhance the edges just mix equal parts of hair dye with water in a portable air compressor and then just lightly spray them on the hairline to make them pop [Music] that's pretty much it guys for this haircut tutorial on a skin taper fade here's a little before and after pictures I hope youall enjoyed this tutorial and we're able to learn something from it again good luck to those that participate in our $100 giveaway and uh
