Contest Structure
Matches are between two similarly weighted people on a 9m diameter mat.
Wrestlers wear red or blue.
Only the torso and upper body can be used; no leg attacks are allowed.
Winning the Match
Win by Pin:
Pin opponent’s shoulder blades to the mat for 1 second.
Known as a win by fall or pin.
Win by Points:
If no pin, score points in different ways:
Takedown:
Worth 2-5 points depending on the type.
Escape:
1 point for escaping a defensive position.
Reversal:
1 point for taking control from a defensive position.
Exposure:
2-3 points for exposing opponent’s back.
Penalty Points:
Awarded for opponent's illegal moves.
Match Format
Two periods of 3 minutes each.
Must win 2 periods to win the match.
If tied, a third period determines the winner.
Scoring Details
Caution Points:
Awarded if a wrestler commits illegal move or rule violation.
Out of bounds and passivity also result in penalty points.
Par Terre Position:
Ordered after a caution; one wrestler on top, other on bottom.
Clinch allows the top wrestler to have the advantage.
Period Dynamics:
Each period has 1-minute sub-periods, switching positions.
Special Wins
Technical Superiority:
8-point advantage results in immediate win.
Win by Injury, Forfeit, Disqualification:
If opponent cannot continue or commits repeated cautions.
