hello everybody Welcome to Mike's mic my name is Mike and welcome aboard my lost series [Music] when I started doing these deep Dives I always wanted to do lost but I didn't think I was ready to do it in a way that did the show Justice but now I think I'm ready this show is very special to me I remember staying up late to watch it on Thursday nights with my mum it was one of the only shows I was allowed to stay up and watch past my bedtime on a school night the other being Heroes I feel like that's very telling I then hyper fixated on it a little bit during high school and I would rent the DVDs from the school library while I saved up to buy them for myself yes I rented DVDs from the library age reveal and since then I reckon I've watched at least season one and two once every three or four ish years it's just everything that I would want from a show compelling characters a super in-depth mystery extensive Lauren mythology flashbacks Adventure Cliffhangers deception Supernatural elements it kind of feels like a scripted sci-fi version of Survivor and if you're a long time Max Mike viewer you would know that I love Survivor now this show does get very messy and muddy and at times hard to follow but that's why I'm here we're going to get through it okay and as messy as this show is it is genuinely fantastic don't get it twisted I mean let me ask the audience people still talking about this show and ended 13 years ago it ended on the 23rd of May 2010. yes the 23rd in addition to being a cult classic this show was very highly regarded and as a result highly rewarded I'm talking heaps of Emmy wins and Golden Globe nominations with a win for best television series drama in 2006 for season two and let me just say season two absolutely deserves that it is in my opinion and I guess the critics opinion one of the best seasons of TV ever now some of the other shows that I've covered in this format don't necessarily have that level of critical Acclaim pretty little lies in Gossip Girl Glee does though side note I find it interesting that there was one year specifically 2009 where Glee and lost were airing at the same time because in my head they don't exist in the same timeline and actually lost Premiere in September of 2004 and ended in May 22 10 and you know what started one month later in June 2010 Pretty Little Liars you know what they say as one supreme Falls another Rises I guess to summarize my feelings about this show and how I'm going about talking about the plot I think storytelling in lust is so ambitious and exciting and smart and I guess my recap series is a sort of Love Letter to that it's going to be very detailed very involved and a little bit psychotic because I think that's what the show deserves in my opinion the show starts off very tight and then it sort of spirals out of control a bit in the middle and it has the hard job of trying to finish all the plot lines in the last couple of Seasons so what I'm going to do is one season per video with a little bit extra at the start of this one to cover how the show came about let's get into some contact we love contacts Ray the idea for the show came 20 years ago in 2003 when the head of ABC at the time Lloyd Braun went on a holiday in Hawaii and he formulated this Castaway meets Survivor pitch and when he told his fellow bigwigs at ABC about it they're all just kind of like apparently nobody moved nobody clicked nobody engaged except for senior vice president at the time Tom Sherman who was like okay let's get a script going enter Jeffrey Lieber who went to work and came out with a pitch for nowhere which Sherman approved but Braun was like and I like it do it again so we did do it again and Braun was still like I don't like it so he contacted JJ Abrams who's doing his thing over at Alias and he was like hey babes I love your work I think you're a genius do you want to take a look at this yeah that's verbatim guys that's exactly the leaked conversation he basically said I think you're great we've got something bubbling away here can you come and write something new with the existing material but the only thing that must happen is that it must be called Lost apparently that's what Braun had originally called it and then Libra changed it to Nowhere also fun fact you guys know I love a fun fact thumbs up for a fun fact guys Lloyd Braun is the voice of previously on last no hang on I can do it better let me just get into character um 40 40 Lads Lads Lads previously on last let's quickly pause to talk about Mr JJ Abrams he's made some absolutely huge movies including Armageddon Mission Impossible 3 onwards Super 8 Star Trek Star Wars force awakens rise of Skywalker and then he has heaps of television credits including Alias lost obviously Person of Interest Revolution Westworld and he even directed an episode of the office so I guess you could say he's a pretty good Storyteller right he's also Gracie Abram's dad question mark question mark hey Gracie if you're watching this love your music also say hi to your dad for me so now we have JJ Abrams working on this lost concept with another writer named Damon Lindelof who's also worked on a bunch of interesting [ __ ] but I'm choosing to highlight that he was a writer on an episode of Phineas and Ferb and I mentioned that because I want you all to tell me if you think I'm more Phineas or verb coded I feel like I'm built like Phineas but then I have verb Tendencies so the two of them wrote this series outline pitch document and this thing is so funny to me because they were just saying absolutely anything and everything to get this show picked up some of the plot points do actually end up being in the show but some of them are so extremely unserious such as a 48-hour Eclipse that results in strange cocoons appearing around the camp a marching swarm of ravenous soldier ants people he met at the end of last might be like well [ __ ] that's not that different from the type of shenanigans that end up going down but in my opinion season 1 and 2 do such a great job at being grounded in reality with some Supernatural spooky elements and introducing those proposed plot lines at the start would have made the show too silly and when I say silly like this kind of silly like like let's take a silly one like they just weren't in that writer's room being like hey guys let's do a silly one interestingly also in this pitch document they specifically say that the episodes would not be serialized and would instead be totally self-contained yes the Mysteries surrounding the island may serve an ongoing and easy to follow mythology who said that but every episode has a beginning middle and end more importantly the beginning of the next episode presents an entirely new Dilemma to be resolved that requires no knowledge of the episodes that preceded it you just made that up I love a little lie if anything this just proves that Hollywood is so relatable like who doesn't love a little lie right I'm actually so glad that they decided to not go down that route because it just seems like such a waste you've got this spooky island setting not to be confused with Spooky Island from the iconic Scooby-Doo 2002. you've got this spooky island setting and you're not going to do an overarching mystery be serious if you're one of the people that got mad at how convoluted the show became just think about how boring it could have been when I was reading the pitch document all I could think of was that middle-aged mum quote that's like she remembered who she was and everything changed so ABC purchased the show they're working on it and then JJC leaves to work on mission impossible 3. so we have Lindelof and this new executive producer Carlton cues developing essentially the rest of the series mythology now girls let me tell you something okay I am a sucker for mythology I am a Charlie XCX 2015 album sucker for mythology my God I love that [ __ ] let me actually just double check that sucker came out in 2015 exactly Boom Clap any Boom Clap fans out there I thought this song was big in Mike's Mike lost recap anyway JJ does come back to do some work on the season three premiere which I love by the way but yeah from the middle of season one ish he's not really that involved anymore now an aspect which elevates lost for me is the sheer scale of it not even just in terms of how the plot interlinks across timelines but in terms of production the enormous cast the sets on location filming the fact that the pilot alone costs 14 million dollars that's like half a Melbourne apartment like that's a lot of money this pilot was actually the most expensive ABC had ever done even though technically it's a two-parter but still that's a lot of coins that's a lot of Charlie XCX gold coins like of course I was going to do Charli XCX promo guys stream soccer the last two things I wanted to touch on before you get stuck into the pilot are the casting and the soundtrack The casting's actually really interesting they wanted Michael Keating to be Jack and they wanted Jack to die in the pilot a lot of the roles on the show didn't actually exist when they started casting and came about as a result of actors auditioning for roles and new roles being written to match these auditions for example yunjin Kim auditioned for the role of Kate and the producers wrote the character's son for her and as a result also created the character gin which ended up going to Daniel Day Kim another example is Dominic Monahan and Josh Holloway auditioning for Sawyer who was originally more of a city-esque con man and they liked Holloway's style of acting and his accents they changed the character of Sawyer to match that and also changed the character of Charlie so that he would be a perfect fit for Monahan I know it sounds ridiculous to be like like oh yeah one of the reasons why I like a show is because of characters like wow what a revolutionary take but it's true I will say that what begins as an ensemble cast with equally important stories for each character as the seasons go on you can definitely see favorites they get more screen time and as a result we lose focus on secondary characters there's actually a Variety article that came out a couple of weeks ago that talked about what happened behind the scenes which kind of explains what I just mentioned so if you're interested definitely go give that a read and the fact that not everyone on the plane is American is such a win although I could have done with more of an international cross-section considering that the flight is flying from Sydney to La like surely more than one Australian character survived or maybe even some more non-english speaking characters sort of like that Netflix show 1899 which I really enjoyed and then got canceled like 10 minutes after being released so that was great and finally the soundtrack let's not play games right now this soundtrack is pure [ __ ] Excellence overarching emotional motifs unsettling spooky Tunes character themes for this [ __ ] off huge cast using real plain fuselage pieces as instruments and not to mention the iconic hmm brass falloff Michael giaccino you are a boss babe it's something about having the name Michael and being Italian there's just something about it imagine making the spooky Lost soundtrack and then turning around and whipping out The Incredibles in the same year and their mission possible three and then Sky High and then [ __ ] Ratatouille [ __ ] he's also made soundtracks for games like Call of Duty and even the soundtrack for [ __ ] Space Mountain at Disneyland as we know Ariana run pop but little did we know giacino runs soundtracks I mean if you break it down he's truly one of the main pop girls of the soundtrack genre there's Hans Zimmer John Williams Roman jawadi oh okay so now the fun part you guys know I switch up the concept every time I do a recap I do that to keep it interesting and also supplement the storytelling in a visual way that makes sense for that particular show one thing about me is I love a physical prop I pretty little Liar's wall Glee board Gossip Girl magazines this thing I don't get too much away but it is yeah I'm gonna be honest with you this one was hard there are so many characters so many Mysteries and as the show goes on there's so many timelines we've got flashbacks flash forwards and even flash sideways so it was definitely tricky to plan to visualize all that now I did land on a concept that I do in fact think is a little bit genius but you're gonna have to wait until the end of the video to get an idea of how it all works but in the meantime I will tell you that I've got this sort of plot squares for each episode and I'll quickly explain what's on there so that you know what you're looking at so on here we have three different sizes of squares and a bigger picture means more important in the context of that particular episode I've included most plot lines and characters and sometimes there will be locations or objects that are critical to the story so I've included them on the plot map I mean for example the plane crash that seems pretty important these white lines mean present plot happening in real time in that episode and present is denoted by the timeline at the bottom left of the square in this case pc1 means post crash one or day one post crash it's not that relevant in season one but as the show goes on and it gets more complicated we start jumping around everywhere and every when we will need to keep track of that top left is the episode number these red lines are flashback lines I'll explain how the flashbacks work as we start going through the episode and then we have Orange Lines which is sort of like missions for example in episode two you'll see an orange outline around characters and objects related to trying to send out an SOS signal which is a mission there's definitely a set of characters that are frequently in said missions and later on I refer to them as a kind of X-Men mainly because I just like X-Men and I wanted to incorporate that somehow but it does make sense also I'm sure you'll get an idea of this once I start going through the episodes particularly the last five episodes of season one but I can't even tell you the amount of work that I put into this so I'm to get to that million subscribers the very first scene of lost is Jack Shepard opening his eyes and his pupils are dilating and he's laying in a bamboo Grove of sorts he's wearing a suit and he's all cut up and he's very clearly in shock an outrageously cute Labrador appears out of nowhere and runs past him he gets up and starts stumbling around and then runs out of the bamboo grow past a white tennis shoe hanging on a tree he stumbles onto the beach where he finds the wreckage of oceanic flight 815 and it's like wreckage on the beach specifically the midsection of oceanic flight 815 that will become important later there's all these people running around and screaming there's a spinning turbine there's fires all over the place there's people stuck under pieces of wreckage it's all happening Jack is obviously an understandably overwhelmed but he locks onto a man whose leg is trapped under a piece of plane and he pulls him out with the assistance of this guy as soon as he pulls that guy out he hears screaming and looks up and sees this pregnant woman crying for help he runs over to her she says that she's eight months pregnant having pcc's post trash can attractions and then uh oh someone walks in front of a turbine gets sucked in and it [ __ ] blows up bro now why is Sister flying at eight months pregnant Mariah Carey 2018 that's a No-No I wonder what her story is I hope we find out we will Jack sees this guy giving this lady CPR and he has to go help so he tells this random guy to bring pregnant lady away from the crash site what's your name Jack yeah that's history so Jack runs over to assist the cprification of this lady this guy doesn't know [ __ ] but at least he's trying to help that's Damon Salvatore Jack saves her and then sees the [ __ ] plain Wing about to fall on pregnant lady and random guy so he runs over and saves them and then he's in the tree line taking his shirt off he's a doctor babes he's trying to stitch up a laceration in his back but he can't reach it this lady pops up and he's like hey babe whoever used a needle I'm gonna need to do some stitching for me and he uses one of the plain vodka bottles to pour over the wound because this shoots heavy metal this guy is smoking he's also smoking a cigarette no joke this is how I dress these days this guy is sorting plain meals this guy is sitting this guy's trying to call for help now I've literally not said anyone's names this is because they haven't come up yet they don't know each other's names nor should they they were only supposed to be on the same flight for 18 hours or whatever and then never see each other again I also wanted to preserve that post-crash chaos so you really feel it but after the beach scene they started talking to each other and gradually introduced themselves so I'll introduce them organically as they come up this guy's Charlie he's got tape on his fingers where he's written f-a-t-e fate he meets this guy who's making a fire on the beach his name is Saeed cprified lady is kissing a ring my precious her name is Rose pregnant lady's name is Claire she's our resident Australian screaming lady's painting her toes and CPR attempty gives her a chocolate bar her name is Shannon and she's like I'll eat on the rescue boat deluge she's got PCD not Pussycat Doll post crash delusion Damon Salvatore's name is Boone this guy and his kid are there this Korean couple's there he's telling her you must not leave my side and you must follow me everywhere this character you guys don't understand you don't get it anyway more about my best friend later that night night one Jack is trying to save the Dartmouth rep from Gossip Girl he's got a piece of shrapnel sticking out of his stomach and stitches girl is like oh my God is he gonna survive she's apparently interested because she was sitting next to him on the plane right one of the things about Jack Shepherd is that he loves to have a little plan he says they should plan to set out to find the front section of the plane to find the cockpit and a transceiver so they can send out a signal Stitch's girl says that she saw smoke in the valley but she finally tells Jack that her name is Kate and then we hear this what in that yo it's giving mechanical slice Transformer ASMR if you will it's crunchy paired with the noise is this visual of palm trees being knocked down as if by some monster it's also got this interesting noise almost like a warning we then get a mini flashback I'm saying mini because most of the flashbacks in Lost are pre-flight but this flashback is of Jack on the flight he is seat 23b by the way when I flew to Perth a couple weeks ago what was my seat number 23b exactly did I pay more to get a premium economy seat just so I could say in this video that I sat in 23b maybe so in this first flashback Jack is looking out the window of the plane the flight attendant walks past and says how's the drink in an Australian accent okay representation and he's like it's not very strong so she gives him two more of those little plain vodka bottles one of which we already know he's going to use to stitch up his wound post crash we love continuity he chugs the other back with a suspicious quickness and then he stands up in the Isle when ratty Charlie runs past being chased by two flight attendants one of which is the woman who gave Jack the vodka bottles Jack's seat neighbor across the aisles cracking jokes about it and we can see that she's the cprified woman post crash Miss Rose I'm greeted not by Miss Rose at the door but by our friend Johnny five oh yes honey the NYPD shut down the party there's a bit of Turbo which is what I call turbulence and Jack tells Rose oh it's going to be fine don't worry and she's like oh I know my husband would have said the same thing he's in the bathroom right now he's blowing that [ __ ] up and then the plane [ __ ] starts to go down Italy trip 2015 food poisoning Rome to Shiba net core mmcu law no time to explain the oxygen mask come out Jack puts his on and passes out it's now day two Jack and Kate are prepping to Trek towards the front section and Kate needs some better shoes for said track so she's sifting through the bodies trying to find some she's sifting and she's thrifting I wrote in my notes Kate taking shoes is Emma Chamberlain in La she looks up and sees that bold man looking at her and is giving this Orange Peel smile she's not having a bar of it he's kind of already giving weird [ __ ] energy like damn we just crashed Charlie volunteers to go searching with Kate and Jack and during the hike Kate realizes that she knows Charlie from his band driveshaft which he played bass in correction sorry plays bass in and they were good they are good still together and then it starts [ __ ] pissing down out of nowhere such strange Island Behavior Kate Jack and Charlie find the front section of the plane and it's sort of position like this so they're gonna have to climb up to get to the cockpit they get in there and find the pilot who is wait for it still alive Jack tells the pilot that it's been roughly 16 hours since they crashed yes 16 hours the pilot tells Jack and Kate that about six hours into the flight the radio went out and no one could see them so they turned around to do an emergency landing in Fiji so by the time they hit turbulence they were about 1 000 miles off course bro imagine crashing surviving the crash finding the cockpit finding the pilot alive and he says that [ __ ] the pilot tells them where the transceiver is and he's trying to get it to work and then Kate's like hold the one where's Charlie so she goes back to look for him and finds him in the first class bathroom what are you doing in there Mr Sir and then it suddenly gets dark outside almost as if a black smoke descended onto the area and the pilot gets [ __ ] ripped out of the cockpit and unalived we don't see him getting unalived but we can see the blood and we can hear things and it doesn't sound fun the front section tips down and Kate Jack and Charlie [ __ ] Sprint Through the Jungle while being chased by this thing we don't really know anything about this threat so far other than that it just [ __ ] killed the pilot and it's chasing them Charlie Stacks it and Jack comes back to save him they all get separated but it's all good because whatever was chasing them suddenly disappears then they find the Pilot's mangled body in the trees how does something like that happen how does something like that happen we're gonna jump straight into episode two because it's technically pilot part two but I just wanted to mention that pilot part one is just so [ __ ] excellent truly in my opinion one of the best pilot episodes ever introduced to so many characters gives some hints about their backstories starts to set up some of these Mysteries it's just so good and JJ Abrams won an Emmy for directing this episode and of course I love a fun fact so here's a fun fact for you the date that the plane crashes in the show is September 22 2004 and what date did the pilot air September 22 2004. see what we have here are some Advanced storytelling tactics another fun fact apparently they used as little red as possible in the pilot so that shots of blood really land so if you go and watch the pilot which you definitely should see if you pick up on that and now let's do some numerical observations Charlie has four taped fingers Claire tells Jack that she's eight months pregnant Jack tells the pilot it had been 16 hours since they crashed Jack and Rose were seated in row 23 on the flight which was Oceanic flight 815. so 4 8 15 16 23. interesting surely means nothing right this is so excellent It's just yummy I want to bite it pilot part 2 has our Trio walking through the forest post pilot in the treetop and Kate's like Charlie bro what the [ __ ] were you doing in the front section bathroom and he's like oh I was puking flashback in this flashback Charlie's on the plane and he's very clearly going through withdrawal symptoms the flight attendant's like what's going on sir and he's like nothing but she goes to get back up so Charlie gets up to run to the toilet and he runs past Jack which we saw in the previous episode and this is actually something that I'm incorporating into one of my movie scripts yes that's right I'm writing movie scripts now and one of my favorite things to watch is multiple perspectives of the same event and loss does it so well Charlie can't get into the bathrooms at the front section of economy because they're in use so he goes to use the ones at the front of the plane changing aisles and walking past Shannon and burn who are sitting in business class we actually find out later that Shannon and burn were supposed to be sitting in first class but there was some drama with their seats so they ended up sitting in business class which actually saved their lives now in the first class bathroom Charlie is trying to you know consume some Goods that he hid in his shoe and then boom crash turbo he drops the drugs in the toilet and manages to make it back to an empty seat in business class so you must be looking for that little baggie in the toilet during the cockpit Expedition also side note in the pilot when they go to the cockpit and they have to climb past the first class seats I'm not showing this by the way because there's d-e-a-d-b-o-d-i-e's in that scene but it just looks like normalcy it's like three and then a gap and then three like babes if I was in first class and that was the arrangement I'd be pissed yeah back on the island day two PC2 Shannon and Claire are sunbathing on the beach I would say that Shannon's kinda toxic girl boss Instagram meme page admin depop reseller Vibes she tells Claire that Boone is her brother Claire says that she hasn't felt the baby move since the crash sun and Jin two of my best friends they are fishing and this guy Michael comes over and he's like have you seen my boy Jin's looking at son like you better not talk to him because I didn't say he could also dig a top button I'd be looking decent meanwhile the sun in question Walt is traipsing through the ultra dangerous jungle looking for his dog Vincent and he finds some handcuffs Michael finds Walton handcuffs and question of the day who was cuffed on the plane boots on the beach Saeed is fighting Sawyer and we find out that Sawyer has accused Syed of crashing the plane racist soy's justification is that he saw Syed sitting in the back row of business class and he never got up and could see that his hands were folded underneath the blanket this pad with the newly discovered handcuffs he thinks saeed's responsible the cockpit Trio arrive on the beach Kate says they found the transceiver but does anyone know how to use it yeah say it does meanwhile soy is just ripping into anyone and everyone he calls Hurley lado and gives Jack sass for being the hero be for real count your lucky stars that you crashed with the doctor don't piss me off Boone asks if there are any survives of the cockpit and Jack says no the trailers decided to not tell anyone about the monster situation Hurley introduces himself to Saeed and asks how Syed knows so much about transceivers and Syed says that he was a a military Communications officer in the Republican guard okay context clue Kate's cleaning up in the ocean and then Sun pops up and tells her in Korean to come back to Camp what's going on well Saeed has semi-fixed the transceiver but it doesn't have any reception so instead of broadcasting blind and wasting the battery they're going to Trek Inland to Higher Ground to get reception to broadcast a distress signal meanwhile Jack is trying to save skilled Gossip Girl guy but it's not looking good so he's gonna have to stay on the beach while Kate goes on the hike Jin's going around offering sea urchin to everyone on the beach he gives them to Claire and after she eats it she feels the baby kicking again whilst reading a Spanish comic that he found in someone's suitcase and it has a giant polar bear in it I bet that small detail is so inconsequential it doesn't mean anything Shannon's looking at the dead bodies and crying and burns like stop being useless flop so Shannon gets mad and says that she's going on the hike MLM boss babe hike mode activated so we have Kate Saeed Charlie Shannon and Boone in the hike Squad scary Smoking Man Sawyer who is reading a letter and looking distraught he sees the hiking Squad leave and decide decides to join them so here we have one of those orange outlines denoting a mission and I guess these are our key members our X-Men the hike Squad is bickering in the jungle remember we just had Syed versus Sawyer on the beach and then uh oh something starts chasing them it must be the monster so they start sprinting away Sawyer whips out a gun out of nowhere mind you shoots the thing dead turns out it's a [ __ ] polar bear on a tropical island hike squad's old is kind of like oh okay oh okay yeah okay yeah hold the one why do you have a gun so it says that he got the gun off one of the bodies an air marshal and Saeed accuses him of being the criminal on the plane since he knew that there was an air marshal on board Kate steals the gun off Sawyer and takes the bullets out and it's kind of slight of hand gaggery like the hike Squad was not expecting that okay random lady that we crashed with one day ago how do you know how to do that Sawyer puts the Seedy moves on Kate and she's like you don't know me rat back off and she's right we don't know her Kane has a flashback to sitting on the plane next to Gossip Girl shrapnel guy and we can see that she is is wearing handcuffs and the shrapnel guy is the air marshal well well well criminal reveal but what doth her crimes be all we've seen her do so far is serve plane crash realness and since one was serving a crime in the flashback she tells the air marshal that she has one favor to ask and then boom turbo a briefcase falls out of the overhead and knocks out the air marshal Kate tries to reach her oxygen mask but can't because the handcuffs so she reaches into the air Marshal's Pockets finds the keys puts her mask on puts his mask on and then the back of the [ __ ] plane snaps off and she's awake for all of it that is so borla she's such a badass like don't play with K it's definitely worth noting that she goes to the effort of trying to put the air Marshal's mask on to save his life so she's clearly not a monster so it leaves us with the question what did Kate do yeah I said it like that because it's a reference to an episode title later on like you guys don't get it the hike Squad gets further up the mountain and they finally get a bar of reception come on tells to 3G what's funny to me is that they're on this random Island on September 24 2004 and they have one bar of reception that's the same amount of reception that I get in my apartment one bar hashtag just Telstra things so they get the buyer reception and they try and send out a made a signal but uh oh it's being blocked by another signal that's already transmitting guys this bit is so good just even talking about I'm getting chills I've got Shivers yes I tuned the transceiver into the frequency of this signal and it's a French woman they're all so excited like someone's coming to save us we dead how we're getting ah damn it's such a shame that no one can speak French so we can understand what she's saying oh wait Shannon can speak French Shannon translates the signal it's repeating please come help me please come get me I'm alone now please someone come the others they're dead it killed them it killed them all you're joking there's also an iteration number playing every time the message loops and said calculates that based on the number and how long the message is it's been playing for 16 years and five months so some random French lady has been sending an unanswered distress signal from the island for 16 years oh it's bad for them oh back on the beach Walt walks up to the Bold guy who's playing backgammon and they start chatting [ __ ] Walt's running his mouth saying that Michael is his dad but he didn't know him growing up because he was living with his mum but he's with him now because his mum died a couple weeks ago okay who asked I'm kidding this bald guy who we now know as John Locke or just lock he's immediately on his Bjork [ __ ] talking in riddles while explaining backgammon two players two sides one is light one is dark hey Walt do you wanna know a secret okay random bold man meanwhile Jack pulls the piece of shrapnel out of the air marshal who wakes up mid-surgery and says where is she now let's do some observations from episode two Charlie hides his drugs in his shoe which is size eight the doubling cube in Block's Backgammon set says the number four and then later says the number 16. the French ladies made a transmission has been running for 16 years so inconsequential and meaningless episode 3 opens with a recap of pilot part one and two and the Recaps in Lost are actually super solid I feel like if you just watched the opening Recaps you would have a pretty good idea of what's going on at least for the first season now this episode is a Kate Centric episode Mr air marshall here is running a high fever and he's also running his mouth he's saying things like I gotta find her bring her back where are my cuffs jacket pocket Jack's like uh okay and he goes to the jacket pocket and finds Kate's mug shot now Jack's kind of gagged he's like wait My Island girlfriend is a criminal Kate served in that mug shot though like there's no point in lying and later on while pestering Jack Hurley also sees the mug shot the hike Squad is camping out on the mountain because they don't want to hike through the jungle at night which is understandable and also a decision that makes sense sometimes you'll be watching shows and be like why would you [ __ ] do that but this kind of makes sense like it's believable guys lost is believable lost as a documentary anyway they're all kind of bummed about the TT just like TT the trans Mission translation they all agreed to not tell everyone back at Camp about it because if they do there'll be a panic and everyone will lose hope I get it but at the same time I'd be so [ __ ] mad if I was ot48 and I wasn't selected for the hiking Squad and thus therefore was left in the dark re French lady gate so on the mountain when they go to sleep there's some drama around who should carry the gun and they all decide that Kate should have it and then we get our very first pre-flight flashbacks and I'll cover that whole thing now Kate is woken up with a rifle by an Australian farmer because she has trespassed onto his farm he's chill though he cooks her breakfast she's lying through her teeth saying that her name's Annie she graduated college in Canada and she wanted to see the world Australia was on the top of her list so she flew to Melbourne and just started walking when she ran out of money the farm is just kind of like okay lady I mean the nearest town is 15 kilometers away so that kind of sounds like [ __ ] but I mean whatever my wife died eight months ago and I can't do all of the farm jobs by myself so do you want a job jump forward three months and Kate is running away in the middle of the night the farmer catches her about to leave and he's like babes stay one more night I'll just drive you to the train station in the morning wow how nice of him the next day on the way to the station Kate realizes that they're being followed looks like the farmer has seen her wanted poster and snitched on it why the rewards twenty three thousand dollars now the guy in the car that's tailing them is the air marshal an important thing about Kate is that she loves a little escape a little run like she's always ambitious about the run she Yanks the steering wheel and flips the car over the embankment and it lights on fire she gets out of the burning car and she could technically Escape if she let old mate burn in the car but she doesn't because she's not a monster she pulls the farmer out and the air marshal catches her guys Kate was in Melbourne maybe during her little walk she walked past my apartment oh my God I wonder if she went to Peter people so the hikers get back to camp and they tell everyone that they couldn't find a signal it's now day three by the way Kate does tell Jack about the French woman's transmission he's privy to this information okay he's giving team leader Jack however does not tell Kate that he knows that she's a fugitive he goes looking for more medicine in the fuselage and he runs into Sawyer who's looting and Sawyer says to Jack how many of those pills are you gonna use to fix him up was that good that accent like Doc we are stuck have a look at the big picture we need to make this last he kind of spilled with that sorry does saving everyone sound like something you want because you're never going to get it meanwhile Kate goes to visit the sick Marshal and he wakes up and starts strangling her but Jack arrives just in time to pull them apart he tells Kate that a the air marshal is dying and B he saw the mug shot that night the Marshal is dying in a very verbal manner lots of screaming involved and everyone's just kind of like can you die already Sawyer tells Kate that since she has the gun she has to be the one to put him out of his misery the Marshall tells Jack that he wants to speak to Kate and he asks her what the favor was going to be when they were in the plane about to go down and she asked for one favor Kate's favor was to make sure that the farmer got his 23 000 reward because the farmer needed it hello his wife died and he's got a wooden arm he reiterates to her that she would have got away if she didn't try and rescue the farmer that's not her though she's a queen with a conscience he asks if Kate is going to be the one to put him out of his misery but it ends up being Sawyer Sawyer goes to shoot him to unalive him and he misses and shoots him in the chest and he's still alive but instead of screaming he's now kind of like gutrally gurgling it's a bit funny like in a sick and twisted funny like it's dark humor guys I don't know people get it and because of this debacle Jack has to strangle the air marshal with a pillow so technically Jack was the first murderer on the island the first of many many many many he's a doctor but he's a murderer Jack giveth and Jack taketh away Michael asks Walt about the bald guy he's been talking to and says to stop talking to him oh Mr luck that's my friend and he said that a miracle happened to him so Michael's like uh-huh I'm your friend too and Walt's like prove it find my dog so Michael goes looking for Vince and starts being chased by something runs off and runs into sun washing herself my best friend's son is like oh merchandise oh I think I would do so well in a plane crash apart from the Privacy thing like that's annoying pipes I'm having flashbacks just [ __ ] in a hole at school cam now on day four luck finishes making a dog whistle and he actually finds Vincent he tells Michael so that Michael can be the one to bring Vincent to Walt so they can bond which is nice Michael and Walt have a very fractured relationship and it's very clear that Michael doesn't know how to get through to Walt now Kate wants to tell Jack what she did and why the air marshal was after her and Jack says he doesn't want to know because it doesn't matter anymore he's kind of winning the I don't give a [ __ ] what three days ago we all died we should all be able to start over interesting phrasing the end of the episode is Hurley listening to music on a Walkman and he's watching people on the beach doing [ __ ] such as Syed throwing Sawyer and apple and Charlie changing the Fate on his bandages to late this was actually the lowest rated episode of season one with 16.6 million viewers only 16 million viewers flop some little observations the farmer's wife died eight months ago the nearest town was 15 kilometers away and the reward for turning in Kate was 23 thousand dollars episode 4 is a lock-centric episode he's such a weird little man and that's not an opinion that's just fact the episode starts with lock opening his eyes post-crash and everyone around him is screaming but he's not he's just kind of like hold on why can't I feel my toes right now back in real time pc4 Knight four Vincent is barking his box off and everyone can hear this roaring and this Ruckus coming from the fuselage it's a bunch of balls what are the balls doing in the fuselage oh so now they're gonna have to dispose of the bodies in the fuselage and Jack's just like okay let's just light them on fire pregnant lady Claire is like that's kind of mean and nasty like these people need a proper send-off let's give them a funeral I'll go through all the luggage to find personal items to get names Etc she finds a letter with saeed's name on it and gives it to him and it's got this picture of a lady in it hmm now she really slayed in this pic she knew that it was going to get seasons and seasons of air time so she really went for it pose wise on day five Syed is making some antennas to pick up the location of the French lady's transmission power source like babes we could do with the battery too the survivors have run out of food so lock finds his hunting knives that he checked his luggage and he's like cool let's go boar hunting and everyone's kind of standing there like who the hell is this guy he has a checked briefcase of knives lock flashback time Lock Works a crusty desk job with an evil bully boss named Randy and we can see that lock is a little bit of a aforementioned weird [ __ ] playing board games during his lunch break bully boss fight finds a pamphlet on John's desk and it's for an Australian Outback walkabout and he's like how are you going to do that and John's like don't tell me what I can't do now why would that be something he can't do he's got this girlfriend Helen and he's on the phone to her talking about the Walkabout but it turns out she's not his girlfriend and he's been paying her to talk to him for eight months now in Australia the Walkabout tour guide isn't letting John on the bus because he lied about his condition and then we see that luck was in a wheelchair lock is Mega pissed saying you don't know who you're talking to I've lived with this for four years don't tell me what I can't do so it looks like pre-crash luck couldn't walk and post crash lock miraculously can miraculous ladybug more like miraculous John Locke so now we've got a hunting Squad stepping out into the jungle to hunt some ball for the camp we've got lock Kate and Michael they get rushed by a boar and Michael gets injured so Kate's gonna take him back to camp but Lock's Gonna Keep hunting while heading back to Camp Kate stops to climb a tree to set up one of the antennas that Saeed made and then uh oh the mechanical monster noise starts up Kate drops the antenna it breaks face to face with this mystery monster and Kate and Michael think he died like they saw where he was and the monster went right to where he was so he had to have died right he was literally in front of it now back at Camp Jack talks to Rose his aisle neighbor remember row 23 guys she's been isolating herself from everyone else while also running her mouth saying that she doesn't believe her husband is dead even though he was in the bathroom in the tail section that literally snapped off in mid-air Jack tells her that everyone in the tail section is gone and she says they're probably thinking the same thing about us she kind of collected him then and there and then Jack looks up and for a couple of seconds can see a man in a suit standing on the beach say what he sees the same man again later and follows him into the jungle it's worth noticing that this mystery man is wearing white tennis shoes so Jax ran off into the jungle to chase this mystery man doesn't find him but finds John Locke with a dead ball how are you alive sir you just were face to face with the monster something fishy's going on I tell you oh meanwhile Boon is roasting Shannon's saying that she's lazy and he's like at least you have to worry about starving because I'm taking care of you and Shannon's like you don't think I can catch a fish watch me flop so she goes and puts the moves on Charlie to get him to catch her a fish you know what they say work smarter not harder the episode ends with the fuselage funeral and Michael asking Locke about the monster and lock saying no I never saw it life you are obsessed with lying you just lie all I do is lie lie lie no matter what some cute little observations the episode length is 42 42. locks been in a wheelchair for four years and he'd been paying for phone calls with Helen for eight months yes I've had an outfit change and a prop change I'm doing a chopstick now and this outfit was a little bit Island inspired yeah it's a little bit flora and fauna following on from seeing visions of the old man in episode 4 episode 5 is a jack Centric episode called White Rabbit come on Madison beer for the White Rabbit it's now day six pc6 guys keep up the episode starts with someone drowning and Jack's swimming out to save them the person drowning is Boone who'd actually swum out to save someone else but Jack can't save them both so he saves Boone and the woman dies hey guys I am genuinely terrified of the ocean I would say that my personality type is ocean avoidant it's just too big and it's too deep and it's so so so wet now there were 48 survivors ot48 and then we had the air marshal dying and now this woman drowned so there's 46 left they've been voted off the island and unfortunately they didn't make it to the jury now the lady that died was Joanna I would say she's kind of a relevant C grade Island celebrity like made no impact like I didn't even have a picture of her but Jack is super cut up about not being able to save her and he's starting to have more and more visions of the man in the suit and this is coinciding with him being extremely tired and struggling with everyone asking him what to do so he's chasing after this Vision the guy turns around it's his dad and Jack [ __ ] shits himself good so now let's cover the Jack flashbacks of this episode The Flash Jacks Young Jack tries to help a kid that was getting jumped and he ends up getting a black eye himself when he gets home his dad tells him you don't want to be a hero you don't want to try and save everyone because when you okay you don't want to be a hero you don't want to try and save everyone because when you fail you just don't have what it takes [ __ ] alert now this is obviously topical on the island irie Joanna in another flashback Jack is older and his mother is telling him that his father has run off to Australia and Jack needs to go to Australia and bring him back in Australia Jack can't find his dad in his hotel room but there's drugs and alcohol everywhere now in the next flash Jack Jack is in a morgue in Australia identifying his father who had died from a heart attack caused by insanely high blood alcohol content and in the Final Flash Jack Jack is in the airport trying to finalize getting his dad's coffin onto the plane Jack's very clearly desperate and it's because he just wants to bury him in LA and be done now on the island things are starting to get dicey because the survivors have run out of water and there's only a few bottles left Claire collapses from dehydration everyone's like oh my God we need Jack but alas Jack is chasing ghost daddy through the jungle and to make things worse someone has snatched the remaining water Kate and Saeed think that Sawyer stole it it so they ambushed him at his stash but he didn't so then we have lock going into the jungle in search of fresh water Jack meanwhile is ghost hunting and falls down a cliff and almost falls into a ravine but lock appears just in time to save him when we have lock and Jack interactions they're always interesting because Jax is kind of man of science and lock is this kind of man of Faith Locke asks Jack why he's in the jungle and Jack says oh I'm chasing something lock tells him to follow his White Rabbit and that he thinks the island is somewhat magic what if everything that happened here happened for a reason Jax is kind of like all right I'll just agree continue to save my life lock also says I've looked into the eye of this island and what I saw was beautiful which is of course referring to the mysterious post ball running with the monster as I said before he should be dead but he's not so what's that about so a lot goes off to find water and he tells Jack to finish what he started that night Jack hears his dead dad again and follows him through the jungle and he finds caves that have fresh water and a bunch of plane crash debris and his dad's coffin which doesn't have a body in it and as we've seen it's dead daddy apparitions abound so what the [ __ ] is going on that is so scary where's the [ __ ] body back at Camp it's revealed that Boon stole the water and he was doing it so that he could take responsibility of it for the camp but as is frequently the case with Boone good intentions bad execution everyone gets mad at him understandably and then Jack arrives and he tells everyone to call off the attack on Burn and he says I found caves with fresh water and he also says if we can't live together we're gonna die alone now episode 6's flashbacks are all about sun and gin my faves everybody yes I just checked and everybody yes they've got one of my favorite backstories as well it's very well written it's quite complicated and emotional sun is at a party looking gorgeous and the waiter gives her some champagne the waiter is gin then they find a quiet spot and they're kissing and it's very evident that they're in love but there's some drama with son's father gin gives son a flower and says I wish it were a diamond someday it will be in the next flashback Sun finds out that her father has given Jin permission to marry his daughter but on the condition that gin works for him son's like oh that's not good but Jin's not worried because it's just temporary right right in the next flashback son comes home from shopping and it turns out Jen has bought her a super cute puppy because he feels bad that he's working so late sounds like remember when all you had to give me was a flower the good old days but then her father calls gin during dinner and he has to go Jin can't catch a break in the next flashback things have Melbourne Parliament station escalated to terrifying New Heights because jyn comes home covered in blood but not his blood and son says what did you do for my father guys there's a Vibe shift happening in real time here in the next flashback sun is showing an interior decorator around her apartment but it turns out this lady is actually going to help son disappear during your trip at the airport at 11 15 make an excuse to walk out of the airport and a car will be waiting your father and husband will think that you were kidnapped and later they'll think you're dead but you'll be free to go wherever you want also I like how between flashbacks they use the dog to show the passage of time it's just genius yeah when you see that in a Mike's mic film just know that's the reference in the final flashback sun and Jen are at the airport at 11 15. she's about to walk out but then Jin surprises her with a flower so she decides to stay with him and gets on the plane so my best friend's son wasn't even supposed to be on the flight nine-year-old me was pissed off about that reveal in 2004. now on the island Jin suddenly runs at Michael when he's beating him up and he's trying to drown him so Saeed and Sawyer use the air Marshal's handcuffs to Cuff gin to a piece of plane until they work out what the [ __ ] going on the language barrier is in full effect here like sun and Jenna trying to talk back to everyone but nothing's getting through now get this later in the episode Sun follows Michael into the woods where he's chopping wood and she says to him I need to talk to you in English I need to talk to you she gagged the [ __ ] out of that Michael and also this Michael like my God how iconic I love a bilingual reveal son tells Michael that jyn tried to kill him because of the watch that Michael found and was wearing it belonged to son's father and protecting the watch as a question of Honor for Jin Michael's just kind of like damn okay is it that serious he gives jyn the watch back and cuts his handcuffed chain with an ax and says stay away from me since they don't have the Handcuff key jyn now has a permanent handcuff accessory it's from the oceanic flight a15 Autumn winter o4 collection luck Jack Kate and Charlie have gone to the caves to get water remember there's fresh water there that Jack discovered during coffin gate Jack and Kate find two skeletons in the caves and one of the skeletons has a bag with two stones in it one black and one white also worth noting that one skeleton is male and one is female this becomes important in like five seasons guys just store it up there in the Memory Palace Jack and Kate go back to the beach and Jack's trying to convince everyone to move to the caves the logic is that it's it's a lot safer it's more weather controlled compared to the beach it has fresh water but it would kind of mean giving up on being rescued I've thought about this for a while and I'm not actually sure if I would be Team Beach or teen Caves at this point I think I'd probably still be thinking that rescue was coming Locke discovers that Charlie is a heroin addict and is going to try and help Charlie wean himself off it and he's using Charlie's love for his guitar to convince him he's basically saying if you get clean maybe the island will give you your guitar so Charlie gives him the drugs and lock shows him the guitar there's definitely something spooker natural going on here both in terms of the island and lock the end of the episode shows half the survivors now living in the caves and the other half of the beach and notably while Jack is at the caves Kate is at the beach now that we're fleshing out more of this Charlie heroine storyline episode 7 is a Charlie Centric episode it's day 8 post crash and he's just given the last of his stash to lock so he's definitely starting to fill the withdrawal symptoms now so he wants the drugs back from lock but Locke says Charlie you're like a moth in a cocoon about to break free you can do it in flashbacks we can see that Charlie's banned drive shaft is starting to get really popular they're getting a record deal and everything so as a result he's getting up to all kinds of mischief and debauchery Charlie's brother Liam is also in the band and when Charlie's like oh this is getting a little bit too much Liam says I'll look out for you and when you say we're done we're done in the next flashback they're at a sold out show and Liam has turned off Charlie's mic and then backstage post show Charlie Sees Liam with a bag of heroin in the next flashback Charlie finds Liam in a bit of a state the stage of you Charlie says that's it let's call it then they get into a massive argument Liam calls Charlie useless and says he's nothing without the band and an upset Charlie tries heroin For the First Time Charlie's last flashback is years later and he's visiting Liam who has settled down with the wife and kids in Sydney and he's trying to convince Liam to come back to drive shaft for a tour Charlie is now a junkie and he says you did this to me Liam doesn't want to rejoin the band so Charlie leaves he's got a plane to catch back on the island PC8 Jack gets buried in a cave collapse meanwhile Saeed has finished rebuilding the three triangulation antennas and he enlists the help of Kate and Boone to set them up the antennas have very limited batteries so once they get to their positions they're going to use these smuggled fireworks to tell each other when to switch their antennas on Syed and Kate head off into the jungle Charlie runs to the beach to get help for Jack and to find Kate but she's off in the jungle so Sawyer says that he'll go find Kate Boone goes to help Jack so Shannon is now in charge of the beach antenna Sawyer finds Kate and is about to tell her about Jack but then she catches an attitude and she's like what makes you think I'm interested in anything you have to say and sorry is like whoa all right okay let me mind my business and he doesn't say anything back at the caves the cave excavation mission is led by Michael who we find out has eight years of construction experience they managed to dig through to Jack but he's pinned down so they need someone to climb through and rescue him and Charlie surprisingly volunteers Sawyer and Kate are chatting [ __ ] at the antenna spot and it's kind of banterish he's seedy and slimy but he's got that cowboy aesthetic going on and he could deep down be a good person so Kate's like anyway Sawyer let's slip that Jackie's hashtag trapped so Kate Sprints off to go save him and now Sawyer is in charge of that antenna Charlie climbs through the tunnel but then the tunnel collapses so now he's stuck in there with Jack but then Charlie Sees a moth flying to a light in the cave in and because of this he manages to get himself and Jack out remember lock said that Charlie was like a moth now Kate is so extremely happy to see Jack okay that's like a little bit too friendly to be friends Saeed sets his rocket off Shannon sets hers off Sawyer sets his off say it sets up the transceiver to triangulate a signal it starts receiving the signal and then he gets knocked out with a stick where are you this obviously raises the question who doth be swinging the stick around the episode ends with Charlie asking lock for his drugs back for the third and final time so lot gives them to him but then Charlie Chucks him in the fire and then he sees the moth again episode 8 is a sawyer episode in flashbacks Sawyer is hooking up with some lady Jess he's got to leave for a meeting and he accidentally reveals to her that he's got a briefcase full of 140 000 in cash babes he's a con man and he's conning her he tricks her into thinking that he's got this miracle business deal that will triple his investment but he needs another 160k to buy into the deal so she's like slay let's convince my husband or you have a husband he loves to run a con and also wreck a home on the island it is now day nine Sawyer catches Boone going through his stuff and he [ __ ] his [ __ ] up Syed is getting patched up by Jack post knockout and he doesn't know who did it as he's saying that Shannon brings wounded burn to Jack so now Syed and Jack think that Sawyer is the one that whacked Saeed turns out Boone was going through Sawyer's stuff because Shannon has asthma and her inhaler ran out so he was trying to find her refills and figured they might be in Sawyer's stash Jack pulls up on Sawyer who's entirely reading this crumpled up letter and then Jack and Kate are like give us the inhaler bro later on Kate's like I reckon you're lying about being a piece of [ __ ] I think he might actually be a good person so just give me the inhalers and soy is like here read the letter Dear Mr Sawyer you don't know who I am but I know who you are and I know what you've done the letter is from a kid saying that this Mr Sawyer slept with his mother and stole money from his father so the father lost her and killed himself and the mother and the letter ends with you killed my parents Mr Sawyer so after reading that Kate's like oh oh right like you're an unredeemable murderer okay night nine Shannon is having a really bad asthma attack and Jack has had it so he starts beating up Sawyer over the inhalers and Sawyer is egging him on to cause the scene Jack just manages to help Shannon get past her asthma attack but they need the medicine things are really starting to escalate right now in terms of accusations even though Sawyer technically has an alibi for when Syed got hit because he was busy setting off Kate's rocket he could have used a cigarette to delay the fuse and go and smack Syed so Saeed thinks he's guilty and this is where things get a bit dicey we find out that Syed was less Communications officer and more interrogator for the Republican guard and he knows some less than cute techniques of getting information out of Sawyer including bamboo under the fingernails that's nasty yeah soy is insane by the way he's screaming from pain but he's so stubborn that he won't say anything about the inhalers and will only talk to Kate he's like kiss me and I'll tell you so she kisses him and he's like lol never had them by your little Saeed loses control a little bit and he's like he's and he tossles with Sawyer and stabs him in the arm in flashbacks we see that Sawyer is about to finalize the con with that lady and her husband but then he calls it off when he says that they have a kid also when he bails he leaves the briefcase with the cash in it which he borrowed from a scary guy for the con which might become important later day 10 Sawyer wakes up after Jack has fixed his arm and Kate works out that Sawyer is actually the one that wrote the letter Sawyer isn't actually his name it's the name of the confidence man that ruined his life and then he actually ended up becoming a con man and took the name Sawyer sun comes up with a natural remedy to fix Shannon's asthma you wish you had that range there's also a storyline in this episode of Charlie being really nice to Claire they're being cutesy he's giving her imaginary peanut butter and yeah it's great the episode ends with Syed going rogue and running off because he lost control and nearly killed Sawyer so he's getting around a little bit of self-isolation looks like in his self-imposed timeout he's going to walk along the beach and attempt to map the island so it's perfect timing that episode 9 is a saeed-centric episode he's sitting on the beach looking at that picture of the woman and there's writing on the back of it and he's looking hella emotional and then he sees a [ __ ] cable coming out of the ocean and heading Inland he follows it gets stuck in a trap gets a stick in his leg and passes out from the pain back at Camp Jack and Sawyer are beefing conversationally not physically and Kate is stressing that saeed's been gone for two days so I think that puts us at day 12 post crash Saeed wakes up still suspended in the Trap but he's all groggy he sees someone cut him down and then faints again he wakes up again and there's a bright light above him and the voice of a woman saying where is Alex in a bunch of different languages he's like I don't know what you're talking about Sochi electrocutes him yes that's right I said bright light and electrocute on the island in flashbacks we say that Syed is working as that Communications officer basically he's torturing people to get information out of them and he's good at it so he's being transferred to the Intelligence Division by his boss friend Omar don't you reckon Omar kind of looks like Roger Federer syed's next assignment is to torture a woman but it turns out he knows her her name is Nadia and they were childhood friends and she's the woman in the picture now miss Nadia she kind of won the I don't give a [ __ ] War she's just kind of like okay so talk to me I'm not telling you [ __ ] in the next flashback Saeed has snuck Nadia some food and he's trying to get her to talk if she cooperates he might be able to free her but she's not saying [ __ ] in the next flashback he's been ordered to execute her but instead he's set up an Escape Route and tells her to run away in the supply truck uh-oh bestie boss Omar sees this happening so Syed shoots him and then shoots himself so that Nadia can get away it's just non-stop drama at Camp Hurley's chilling and lot comes up to him and says that he was hunting with this guy Ethan and they found a briefcase now we've never seen this Survivor Ethan before the suitcase has golf clubs in it so Hurley sets up this cute little golfing tournament for the survivors okay let's get back to the real [ __ ] turns out the person who captured Saeed is the French woman from the transmission and she's a little bit insane Vibes she hasn't spoken to anyone in 16 years so it makes sense kinda me Vibes during the 2021 lockdown where I only saw like three people over the span of six months and then I came out the other side with an appropriately unhinged recap of Pretty Little Liars so Saeed has woken up in Danielle Russo's lair on day 13. and he mentions how he heard the distress signal but he doesn't understand how she's been transmitting it from a couple of batteries in her Lair for 16 years and she says it's actually broadcast from somewhere else but they control it now so he's like they who the [ __ ] is they she's like you and the others like you the others others several a question mark happening right now Saeed says that he's from a plane crash but Russo doesn't believe him she's suddenly conversational and shows him this broken music box her partner Robert made for the anniversary and it was such a comfort for her during her first few years here that's right ladies years Syed says that he can fix the music box but as she suddenly switches out of being conversational and sedates him with a rusty syringe he wakes up from the sedative and she's moved him to a desk to fix the music box while working on it he sees some maps and documents that Russo had written she tells him that her and her partner Robert were part of a research team that ran aground on the island after a storm saide asks her about the distress signal particularly the part where she says it killed them all and she says that they were coming back from the Black Rock it was them they were the carriers the others she's never seen these others but she hears them in the jungle whispering to her say doesn't believe her he thinks that she's doing the screws loose challenge so say it fixes the music box for Russo but keeps the little screwdriver tool he asks her to let him go but she won't because it's not safe and then they hear a Roar from the jungle so she grabs one of the rifles from the lair and runs off she says if we're lucky it's one of the Bears and Saeed says it could be the monster and Danielle says there's no such thing as monsters what the [ __ ] going on you guys also sorry that I'm saying almost every line of dialogue here but it's because it's all important Saeed uses the screwdriver to unlock his chains steals all the maps and drawings he takes one of the rifles and makes a run for it he runs into Russo and there's a standoff and he tries to shoot her but the rifle's missing the firing pin so it doesn't work Danielle says that Robert didn't notice either the pin and the gun thing and she killed him because he was sick after it took him it took her crew one the other she had no choice they were already lost okay Kelly Clarkson Already Gone she knows that Syed isn't sick but she doesn't want to let him go because she wants someone to talk to babes it's been 16 years she wants a little Chit Chat they chat about losing people he mentions Nadia and Russo's like all right you're cool you can go he asks her if she wants to come with him but she doesn't want to and she says watch your people closely she also reveals that Alex was her child if you do the family tree maths here that would mean that Alex's full name is Alex Russo you could fix every problem with the slider is it's all linked guys like lost is from ABC which is owned by Disney Disney owns Disney Channel which is where we had Wizards of Waverly Place now on his way back to Camp Saeed hears The Whispers that Russo mentioned and he [ __ ] bricks it great episode huge episode we got the big reveal that they're not alone on the island episode 10 raised by another is centered around our Australian icon Claire she has a nightmare where she wakes up in the caves and she can hear a baby crying and she looks down and can see that her baby bump is gone in said dream she follows the sound of the crying baby through the forest and finds luck reading Fortune cards with one black eye and one white eye she keeps running and finds a cot with an oceanic a15 Baby mobile baby baby mobile Baby mobile or Baby mobile wrong wrong I guess it's an Oceanic 815 baby toy thing and then her hands are covered in blood so she wakes up screaming like yes it's bad for her but in the Dreamscape Charlie manages to calm her down but her hands are actually bleeding because she dug her fingers into her Palms in her sleep and lizzo yes it is about damn time that we get a Claire episode she's in her third trimester and she survived a plane crash 15 days ago why was she even on the plane let's get into it in her flashbacks we can see Claire and her painter boyfriend Thomas doing a pregnancy test and it comes back positive Claire's like uh-oh but Thomas is surprisingly like hang on maybe we should keep it like Claire I love yeah wait no he's Australian Claire I love you in flashback too Claire and a friend go to see a psychic named Richard Malkin he correctly mentions the baby and then suddenly gets really scared gives Claire back her money and says I'm not finishing the reading you need to leave you need to leave I won't lie this was very spooky in flashback three Claire is three months pregnant and doing some home decorating she actually says drapes and I was watching like uh no we don't get down like that in these parts those are curtains Thomas comes home and he's suddenly like I'm not doing this this right here I'm not doing it I'm not playing anymore games brother I love you but I'm Gonna Leave ya all for a bit of smoked salmon who's bothered about that it's an absolute [ __ ] show he breaks up with her he's an [ __ ] in flashback four Claire goes back to the psychic to finish the reading so he does and he says I've got to tell you something important it is crucial that you yourself raise this child parented by anyone else is not going to work danger surrounds this child and it needs your good energy Claire's like oh that's awkward I was gonna put the baby up for adoption and he's like absolutely absolutely not the baby needs your protection like we may joke and say it's getting weird but it's genuinely getting weird in the next clip this psychic guys blowing up Claire's phone saying that he's got a plan for her she just has to listen to him but she's not having a bar of it and she's going ahead with the adoption in flashback five Claire's about to sign the adoption papers but then the pen stops working so she gets another pen and that pen stops working it's getting silly class kind of gagged so she leaves without signing the papers and the adoption is canceled she turns up at Richard's door asking what his plan was going to be in flashback six Richard is telling Claire that the baby has to be adopted by a specific couple in LA and she has to get on a specific flight to meet them and he's already bought the ticket and he's giving her a little bit of cash to go through with it Claire is absolutely psychic skeptic right now she's like what the [ __ ] you literally just said the baby has to be raised by me let's jump back to the island in the present day Charlie is looking after Claire and these two are starting to get really close together I really like this pair they're both kind of quirky and cute Knight 15 Claire wakes up to see a man covering her mouth and stabbing her in the stomach with a needle she's hysterically screaming so Jack Etc come over to help her but they can't see anyone in other news Hurley tells Jack that he wants to start a registry so that they can really work out who's who so that people stop attacking each other so her is going to ask people questions like who are you where are you from what was your reason for being in Australia Jack is starting to think that Claire is having textbook pregnant woman anxiety nightmares and he's thinking obviously there's no man that's trying to attack you babes that was a nightmare Hurley talks to Ethan name Ethan ROM from Ontario Jack gives Claire a sedative to help her sleep and she's obviously very upset that he doesn't believe her she packs her [ __ ] and runs off into the jungle to go to the beach to leave the caves and Charlie runs off after her Boone tells Hurley to check the flights manifest because it has an updated list of everyone that was on the plane and they'd already crossed off the names of the dead people so Hurley gets the Manifest from Sawyer Claire and Charlie are traipsing through the jungle and then Claire starts having contractions she wants Charlie to go get Jack but he doesn't want to leave her alone in the jungle when it's approaching night time he also accidentally reveals declared that he was a drug addict and Claire's like oh okay so Charlie's running to find Jack and he runs into Ethan which is perfect he's like Ethan can you go tell Jack I'm gonna go look after Claire in the meantime while they're waiting Claire tells Charlie about the psychic and the random La adoption plan and how all of this wasn't supposed to happen Charlie's running the numbers and he's thinking maybe this psychic knew that the plane was never going to make it to La which would guarantee that Claire would be the one to raise the baby the ethics of that hmm definitely definitely gives me pause this psychic made a pregnant lady get on a flight knowing that it was going to crash I'm about to crash I'm about to crash that feels like criminal behavior I'm about to crash into an island no one knows where I am oh she and Nick 815 just me and 47 of my besties the next set of Saiyans are an excellent payoff for this slow build of tension that we've had for the last few episodes Saeed turns up in the caves all disheveled and he says I found the French woman I had to come back we're not alone meanwhile Charlie and Claire just traipsing through the jungle having a Merry Old Time looks like her contractions have stops they're heading back to the caves Hurley runs into the caves with the flight manifest saying we've got a problem one of the people in our camp isn't on the Manifest he wasn't on the plane and then boom Ethan appears in the jungle with Charlie and Claire and he's got this dead look in his eyes let me tell you nine-year-old me was [ __ ] flawed by that I was [ __ ] it's just so excellently written I did notice that there is a little bit of a continuity error but it doesn't really come into play until season 2 episode 11. also interestingly this episode in the previous one were originally written to come out in a different order so we'd have the Claire episode and then the Saeed episode obviously with different endings for each and the reason why they changed it is that it would be weird if everyone was playing golf while Charlie and Claire were missing yes that's right Charlie and Claire are about to go missing Hurley tells Jack Kate and freshly returned Saeed that Ethan is the one that's missing from the Manifest and they look around and they realize uh oh Ethan's not here Ethan can't come to the phone right now why oh he's kidnapping people they notice that Charlie and Claire are also gone and they're like so they run off into the jungle and lock finds evidence that Claire and Charlie have been taken yes Liam Neeson Taken locks in bad [ __ ] tracker mode Jack's losing it because he feels responsible for the whole thing because he basically told Claire that she was being delusional the flashbacks in this episode episode 11 PC 16 are Jax flashback one he's in surgery trying to save someone's life but she dies anyway ah quote and his head of surgery dad Christian is telling him to call it and he's like no you call it in flashback 2 we find out that Christian was actually called in from lunch into the ER and he had shaky hands and was cutting arteries and [ __ ] so the nurse called for Jack turns out Christian was drinking during lunch which is a big No-No for ahead of surgery in flashback three Christians trying to convince Jack to sign papers saying that the patient succumbed to her injuries but Jack won't sign it because of the drinking so Christian puts the guilt on like if you tell them about my drinking they'll strip my license and my work is my life also sorry about being hard on you jack like no hard feelings right The Guilt Trip works and Jack signs the document in flashback five the two of them are at a board hearing and Christians saying that the patient came in with irreversible damage and there was nothing he could do but it turns out the woman was pregnant and Christian knew this and Jack's like what the [ __ ] uh let me revise my statement real quick he then tells the board that Christian was operating Under the Influence and severed the patient's hepatic artery bruh like that's what happens when you work with Family Guys people die literally so back on the island a search party of lock Kate and burn head off into the jungle and they find Jack running in circles lock tells Jack to go back to the caves like you be the doctor let me be the hunter but stubborn Jack wants to press on he wants to press on nails that's so silly let's take a silly one oh my God they find the L bandage from Charlie's late hand oh my God L bandage hell banded sorry this is serious it looks like Charlie is leaving them a trail but Locke has found another trail of footprints going in a separate Direction so they've decided to split up lock and burn are gonna follow the footprints Jack and Kate are going to follow the bandages Kate also does a talent reveal that she knows how to track remember no one knows anything about her past they were all temporarily incapacitated by gagery when she did that gun [ __ ] in like episode 2 with the polar bear lock and Boone are setting up line of sight markers by ripping up a red shirt and Boone mentions the red shirts from Star Trek that always end up getting killed important for later he also asks Locke what he did in the real world and doesn't believe him when he says Regional collections supervisor for a box company while all this drama is going on Saeed and soya have a chat and Sawyer threatens to beat Saeed up remember they didn't live on the vast of terms there's a little bit of like arm stubby action and some torture with some bamboo under some fingernails say tell Sawyer that he never intended to come back to camp and he fills him in on the Russo situation and tells him about the Whispers Sawyer here says that he kept saeed's signal fire burning he's obsessed with having a Redemption Arc at the moment Walt and Hurley play backgammon and it's largely inconsequential but I'm mentioning it because Walt keeps winning and he's very very lucky like too lucky for it to be chance in the jungle it starts pissing down and when it starts pissing in this show all some shit's about to go down Jack and Kate come across the tea bandage Jackie's class screaming so he chases after the sound but interestingly Kate doesn't hear it Jack Stacks it down a mud wall in the rain and opens his eyes to Ethan standing above him with his foot on Jack's chest and Ethan's saying if you do not stop following me I will kill one of them and I was like whoa like this [ __ ] is scary he's also Tom Cruise's cousin literally I'm not joking anyway Jack tries to fight Ethan and Ethan absolutely rocks his [ __ ] and knocks him out at the end of the day they are not built the same okay Jack is giving nepo baby meanwhile Ethan's giving Island life when Jack comes to the rain has stopped so he and Kate keep searching and they come across Charlie hanging from a tree by his neck and after some gut-wrenchingly desperate scenes they just managed to cut him down and save him I think these scenes are what Kylie Minogue wrote padam padam about like my heart really went padam padam like that's just that they bring Charlie back to the caves but he's not saying anything boy is traumatized the only thing he says is I didn't see anything or hear anything I don't remember anything Claire that's all they wanted all they wanted was Claire would now be a good time for me to say that if you take Ethan's name Ethan ROM and you rearrange the letters you get other man the end of episode 11 is so excellent lock and Boone are still traipsing Through the Jungle in the dark and Boone thinks they're lost but Locke says don't you feel it like okay Mr bold man with knives who was previously in wheelchair and now isn't but it says anything and talk to the monster but didn't tell anyone that he did like what do you mean Boone's like now this is flap I'm gonna head back to the caves Locke throws him the torch Boone drops it and then you need this more than I do uh what was that did you guys hear that what was that they start clearing the mud and discover that it's some kind of Steel structure gag of the [ __ ] Century the torch dropping and the steel clang is one of my favorite TV moments ever and this is what I was talking about at the start of the video like imagine watching that and then having to wait a week for the next episode episode 12 places us at day 21 post crash we know this because Shannon asks why Locke and Boone have been leaving Before Sunrise and coming back after dark for the last four days this also means that Claire has been missing missing for like five days now Kate's out picking fruit in the jungle and she hears a noise and it's actually Sawyer who says that he's just looking out for her by following her the two of them are bantering and they come across the waterfall so they go for a swim the scariest thing is not what they find in the waterfall but the fact that Sawyer is swimming in jeans in the water they find two decomposing bodies attached to plane seats Kate notices that understood plain seat is a Halliburton case which she says is hers Sawyer works out that the case isn't actually hers based on how she's looking at it and trying to open it and she's like I don't give a [ __ ] you can take it I don't care now this is actually Kate's episode for flashbacks all centered around that briefcase in flashback one she's opening a bank account at a bank in New Mexico under the name Miss Ryan and then there's an armed robbery inside bank and she's taken hostage in flashback 2 plot twist we find out that she's is actually on the heist team yes criminal there's just something about a heist okay I love a good heist I personally have not done any heists but I'm writing a heist at the moment and it's pretty good in flashback three criminal partner guy slaps her to make the hostage situation believable but he calls her Maggie so it looks like she's just lying to everyone about everything the bank manager gives the criminal partner guy the key to the Vault now let's jump back to the island pc21 back at the beach camp everyone is scrambling because the tide has suddenly shifted and all the luggage is getting washed out to sea Saeed says this can't be normal the Tide's shifting so suddenly rising in such a short time and Jack says there's a lot not normal around here and you would be right jack wants Saeed to take him to Russo so they can talk about the others but say it's like no no no no no don't even think about a girl so Jack's like okay well at least can we have a look at the maps and documents that you stole from her said maps and documents are in French so on day 22 Saeed commissions Shannon to do some French decoding and these two start spending a lot of time together soya and Kate keep stealing the case of each other and trying to open it so he's trying to pick the lock to get it open and Michael tells him that you need to smash it to get it open because you can't pick the lock on a heli Burton now that is what I call successful product placement like damn I need to get me a Halle Burton anyway Sawyer tells Kate I'll give you the case if you tell me what's in it she doesn't instead she goes to talk to Jack about it since he's the only one that knows anything about her past remember the mugshot drama I mean that's not entirely true because Hurley also saw the mug shot but whatever she tells Jack that the case is the Air Marshals and has four nine millimeters with a few boxes of ammo she needs Jack to tell her where he buried the air marshal so that she can dig him up for the key which is in the air Marshal's wallet Jack doesn't believe that she's just after the guns and that there must be other stuff in the case and he's correct more on that later Charlie and Rose have a d m about Claire and Rose is kind of legendary actually helps him work through his guilt of not dying while Claire is still missing Jack and Kate dig up Mr air marshall and he's giving Rigamortis Kate grabs the wallet and says oh there's no key in it but Jack discovers she actually stole the key when she took the wallet it was more sleight of hand we basically have ample evidence to suggest that Kate is Shady boots Jack gets the case off Sawyer by threatening to not give him his meds for his arm wound remember that now back to Kate's flashbacks flashback four they're all in the vault and the criminal guy reveals to the bank manager that this was all Maggie's idea she picked the bank and the Vault he's about to kill the bank manager and Maggie slash Kate is like nut on my watch I said nobody gets hurt and she shoots all her accomplices to protect the bank manager she remembered who she was and everything changed Riot Crim with a conscience mixed with the bad [ __ ] Idis flare-up turns out Kate's done all this just to get into a safety deposit box numbered 815 8 15. hmm interesting in the safety deposit box is an envelope back in real time Kate and Jack open the case the four guns are in there as is the envelope from the safety deposit box Kate opens the envelope inside is a toy plane question mark Jack's like uh what the hell is that about and Kate says it belonged to the man I I loved it belonged to the man I killed she loves to commit a crime okay she's crying and spluttering bad [ __ ] mode temporarily deactivated at the end of the episode Rose tells Charlie that she knows her husband who was in the tail section is still alive and he'll be back this is now the second time she said that Shannon works out that the words Russo keeps writing on her map are actually lyrics to a French song [Music] I mean Shannon kind of devoured supremely with that singing I would like to know where that actress's pop girl career is she could have had her own Lucy Hale pop star moment side note this episode had nearly 22 million live viewers 22 million episode 13 day 24 gives us something that we haven't seen yet a boon and Shannon scented episode Boone is giving weird jealous Vibes that Shannon and Saeed are spending a lot of time together decoding Russo's maps and he tells Saeed stay away from my sister in flashbacks we finally get more insight into Shannon and burns relationship in flashback one Boone gets a call from Shannon in distress you can hear a man yelling in the background and Shannon's telling Boone to come get her she's in Sydney Australia in flashback 2 Boon shows up at Shannon's boyfriend Brian's house and Shannon's acting all surprised saying oh now's not a good time but Boone can see when Shannon purposefully moves her hair that there's a massive bruise in Flashback 3 Boone is reporting Brian to the police and in the background we can see Sawyer getting brought in we'd love to see a pre-crash main character crossover and this is the first one the police officer tells Byrne that he can't do [ __ ] without evidence and we find out that Boone and Shannon are not actually blood related she's his stepsister Boon goes to Brian to bribe him into breaking things off with Cannon to the tune of 50 000 US Dollars flashback four he goes to pick up Shannon from Brian's house but it turns out Shannon set him up Brian says that Shannon's just getting back what she's owed and that Boone's mum screwed Shannon over when her dad died and kept all the money so Shannon's been scamming Boone with these fake evil boyfriends to get the money back now that is diabolical side note I feel like I need to see this actress in a slasher movie she just kind of has that final girl face you know back on the island people are getting angsty that lock and Boone are saying that they're going out to hunt boar but they never actually come back with anything little do they know that lock and Boone are partaking in the most slayful archaeological dig in history from a metallic clang after dropping a torch we now have this what the hell is that that ladies and ladies is the hatch a door in the floor I really want you to understand how huge this is they've just crash landed on this island in the middle of [ __ ] nowhere all this weird [ __ ] is happening and now they've found a gigantic steel hatch door in the jungle I mean great discovery guys good job but they're not having any luck opening there's a glass panel in the middle that just isn't breaking and the door itself is sealed shut with no handle or latch it begs the question why have a hatch if you can't get in unless that's the point now as we've previously established lock is a weird unit he knocks Boone out ties him up and then puts this hallucination inducing paste on him when he won't shut up about needing to tell Shannon about the hatch Boone then hallucinates that Shannon's getting attacked by the monster and rescues her hallucination Shannon keeps pestering Boone to tell her what he and lock have been doing all this time and when he tells her we get this but I told him I wanted to tell you and that's when he did this and then the monster kills Shannon right time for flashback five Shannon turns up at Boone's hotel room apologizing and saying that Brian took the money and ran off she says she knew that Boone would bring the money because he's in love with her burns like what that's not true and then they hook up taboo boots to Boots the next morning Shannon tells burn that when they get back to LA they're going to pretend like nothing happened between them they're not going to make it to L.A back in present day Boone finds Shannon's mold dead body he goes back to luck to kill him for what he did to Shannon and locks like uh nobody died Shannon's fine she's over there he's in there asleep psycho [ __ ] lock is like I just gave you the paste the rest is what the island wanted you to see it was a Vision Quest and once the result of the Vision Quest Boon felt relieved when fake Shannon died so the island is telling him to let go now in light of the boar shortage the boardage if you will we have people getting resourceful with the food supply sun has been building a little garden with Kate fetching seeds for her at the Garden Kate's telling son a story assuming that sun can't understand what she's saying but then Sun Smiles at a joke and The Jig Is Up The Roost is loose so now Kate knows that sun can speak English and these two start sistering severely I really love the dynamic between these two characters it fits so well and it makes sense with their backstories like Sun's got a huge secret and Kate's good at keeping them they kind of give me Ocean's eight energy I need a son Kate Heist Hurley needs more protein so he gets gin to teach him how to catch fish he then steps on a sea urchin and tries to get Jen to pee on his foot which is fun and elsewhere Sade's been trying to make sense of the maps and he's having issues working out where North actually is based on his makeshift compass and locks actual Compass it's not really making sense because based on the sun North should be this direction but then based on the compasses they're saying that North is this direction what's up with that continuing our trend of first-time feature episodes episode 14 titled special the flashbacks of this episode center around Michael and Walt I like how 90 of Michael's lions are just screaming Walt wild wild I have a distinct memory of playing the Lost video game and thinking the same thing just a poorly animated Michael screaming Walt at me through the PS3 that and luck saying to Jack hey good over here over here in the Banyan trees hey son over here I'm over here at the Banyan trees so where is Walt he's learning how to throw knives with psycho [ __ ] lock and burn a quick pause for burns singlet here I absolutely need this do not play with me right now you wore a jean vest I've actually been going to the gym so I'm almost singlet ready also interesting that Boone is like the only person in this episode that's wearing any red so Walt can't throw these knives for [ __ ] okay but then lock tells him to visualize the path before throwing and then he's suddenly very good and I don't just mean very good in terms of excellent hand-eye coordination which is something that I also have it's more so spooky Vision Vibes anyway Michael walks into knife club and tells lock to [ __ ] off and tells Walt to stop going to knife Club Locke tells Michael that Walt is different what do you mean by that lox having this very noticeable shift to being the spiritual leader of the camp it's building on what I said before where Jack is this man of science and lock is this man of Faith Michael is fiercely protective of Walt but as we know he's having a hard time actually communicating with him but from this episode that protectiveness has manifested into Michael deciding that Walt cannot grow up on a [ __ ] Island so he's going to get him out of there how by building a raft yes come on raft I think for me personally at this point Day 26 I would have officially given up like all this talk about building a raft I would have been like have fun with that Walt and Vincent are reading this Spanish Flash comic the same one that we saw the polar bear in in episode two it seems like a throwaway scene with little comic but why include it at all now let's do this flashbacks in flashback one Michael and his partner Susan are shopping for baby furniture he mentions giving up his art to get a construction job to support the baby while Susan finishes Law School in flashback 2 Susan gets a job in Amsterdam and she's going to take baby Walt with her and Michael's not having a bar of it Susan wants them to take a break in their relationship and Michael is super cut up about it and feels like Susan's trying to take Walt away from him in Flashback 3 Walt is 21 months old and Michael wants to talk to him on the phone but he can hear a man in the background and Susan reveals that she's been seeing someone Brian Porter Michael gets heated and hangs up he's at a pay phone so he crosses the road and gets hit by a car specifically a gold Pontiac in Flashback 4 Michael is in hospital drawing pictures to send to Walt Susan turns up to the hospital which shocks Michael a little bit like oh my God she cares she's covering his medical bills but uh oh what's actually happening is she's getting married to Brian they're moving to Italy and Brian wants to legally adopt Walt she's being so snake lady but then in my head all I can think of is the actress's character in bones and I'm like I like her in flashback five Susan Brian Vincent and Walt are in Australia Susan is not feeling well and it's not in like a cold and flu not feeling well like she's not feeling well Walt's doing homework about birds and tries to show Brian but no one's paying attention to him so Walt gets mad and then boom a bird slams into the window it's a spooker natural occurrence in flashback 6 Brian shows up to Michael's apartment to tell him that Susan died yesterday from a blood disorder he tells Michael to take custody of Walt and Michael's like what now apparently Brian didn't even want to adopt Walt but he did it because he thought that's what Susan wanted Brian gives Michael plane tickets to go to Sydney to get Walt and he also tells him that Walt is different as in weird things the first thing that Waltz says when he sees Michael is where's Brian and then Michael does something huge Walt is clearly enamored by Brian and would be absolutely crushed to know that Brian wants absolutely nothing to do with him so Michael tells Walt that Brian actually wanted Walt to stay with him but it wasn't his choice it's Michael's which Walt is going to resent Michael for and it's not even true that's rough I feel like Susan dying really complicated things did she really need to do that back on the island Walt keeps talking to Locke even though Michael told him not to so Michael Burns the comic Walt's pissed off so he runs away and Michael goes to log thinking that's where Waltz run off to but he hasn't and lock puts the beef aside to help Michael find Walt Waltz off being a little [ __ ] walking Vincent in the middle of the [ __ ] jungle and then Vincent loses his [ __ ] when he can hear Footsteps in the jungle and runs off in their Direction Why is there a rubbish bin in the jungle and then Walt gets chased by a [ __ ] polar bear and hides in the trees this was the only screenshot that I could get of the polar bear I hope you get the kind of polar and bear vibes from this this is an interesting development given the polar bear in the comic Michael and lock come to save what Michael manages to get Walt out of there and then stabs the polar bear in the mouth with a knife and the Polar Bear runs off absolute scenes the end of this Duo scenes for the episode is Michael giving Walt all of the letters and cards that were in the box it's cute nothing like almost dying by a polar bear on Day 26 post plane crash on a mysterious island to really Bond people you know elsewhere Syed has had a breakthrough with Russo's papers he's worked out that she wasn't mapping where the island is she was mapping a location on the island he thinks it might be the location of the transmitter and subsequently the location of its power source in other news Boone has turned corner and he's now an admiral in the I don't give a [ __ ] war and he doesn't do everything that Shannon tells him to do Charlie's still caught up about the class situation the clituation remember that yeah she got kidnapped and he sneaks a peek at her diary to see if she wrote anything about him and she's written all this really cute [ __ ] like I really like Charlie he's so sweet and adorable Charlie's reading this like tea here oh my God but then he reads something spooky so he goes to show Jack inside in her diary Claire had written I had that weird dream again the one at the Black Rock I can't get away from I tried to leave it but they won't let me remember old mate Daniel Russo also mentioned the Black Rock could this be the triangle on the map and then at the end of the episode Boone and lock are in the jungle at night looking for Vincent and they come across Claire staggering Through the Jungle covered in blood a lot of people would be scared episode 15 starts on night 27 with Claire being brought into the camp she's passed out everyone is gagged beyond belief she hasn't had the baby yet though she wakes up screaming in fear and not because of what she's just been through but because she doesn't recognize anyone including Charlie who has just discovered via journal entries that she was crushing on here bruh so Claire's memory has been wiped the last thing that she can remember is being on the plane and you would think this is a Claire episode but it's actually a Charlie episode in flashback one he's doing drugs but needs more drug money so his slimy pal picks a target for Charlie to extort Miss Lucy Heatherton who is super rich in flashback 2 Charlie is scoping out Lucy's house and he's found this expensive looking Winston Churchill memorabilia Lucy mentions that her dad is buying a paper company in Slough which I think is a office reference I actually auditioned for the office Australia but I think my audition was actually terrifyingly bad because I didn't hear anything back in Flashback 3 Charlie has dinner with Lucy and her dad and it comes out that drive shaft has collapsed so Charlie takes a job offer from Lucy's dad he's going to sell some photocopiers specifically c815 photocopiers Charlie's slimy drug pal is not happy about this he's not going to give Charlie a fix before he starts his sales job on Monday so he's going to be in the trench in Flashback 4 he's NSAID trench on the first day of work experiencing withdrawal he's super desperate so he steals the Winston Churchill memorabilia in Flashback 5 he bombs the sales demo and vomits in the photocopier and in flashback 6 Lucy finds out that Charlie stole the Winston Churchill memorabilia because he's a junkie back on the beach Saeed is so unsure of Claire coming back without her memory and He suggests that maybe Ethan has sent her and Charlie's like get [ __ ] Charlie's then walking to the caves with Jin and Ethan knocks out gin with a rock Ethan tells Charlie bring me Claire before Sundown or I will kill someone in the camp and if you don't bring her before Sundown tomorrow I'll kill another and another and I'll kill you last I'll kill you last Tom Cruise's cousin was acting here oh my God so now everyone's [ __ ] and they're gonna have to square up and prepare I'm going to officially add the X-Men terminology here because this is an excellent example of it we've got a bunch of main characters in The Loop and no one else is so they're sort of like a mission team like the X-Men so let's call him the X-Men side note if you haven't read the comic House of x oh House of X and powers of X it's just something different like it's just so good so my version of X-Men on Lost is typically a rotation of Jack Kate Saeed or lock and then we also have Michael Charlie Hurley burn Sawyer and Shannon as swappable members and they're in the Orange Lines you get the idea so the X-Men in this particular Mission have decided that they're going to keep Claire at the camp and put some defenses up Kate convinces Jack to get the guns out of the case remember the case but Jack says no it's now night time the X-Men are on Watch Burn falls asleep on Sentry Duty and wakes up to one of the traps going off he goes to investigate and it's just Vincent but then they hear screaming back on the beach someone's been murdered it's one of the irrelevance like Scott or something but how they had the whole perimeter cover it doesn't matter he came in from the water another example of Ethan just being on a different level to the other girls here like he's got that Island style so now the X-Men are formulating a new plan involving the guns and using Claire as bait to trap Ethan our gun wielders are Jack luck said and Sawyer Kate wants to come as well so Sawyer gives her the gun that he stole off the air marshal Charlie is vocally anti-clair bait but she's all for it they step out for their little trap remember they want Ethan alive so that they can interrogate him Claire goes to the spot Ethan turns up he starts chasing her he gets ambushed it's 5v1 yay oh my God they won we actually have a success they captured him alive but then Charlie pops up out of nowhere grabs the gun that Jack dropped while tackling Ethan and shoots Ethan six times in the chest killing him he ran into my gun he ran into my gun six times you idiot thanks a lot Charlie thanks a lot he says he did it because Ethan deserved to die which I understand like hello he was hanging from a tree via neck like a few episodes ago and Charlie obviously wanted to take care of Claire but let's use our brains oh my God this random man has infiltrated your Camp to kidnap the pregnant lady and you have the opportunity to interrogate him and you don't it's just silly Behavior at the end of the episode Claire tells Charlie that she remembers peanut butter isn't that lovely so this whole Ethan Mark has now finished but we still have so many questions why did he take Claire where did he take Claire what did he inject her with babes you may as well forget those questions because we are not getting answers anytime soon episode 16 is a bit of a shift it gives us some Kate and Sawyer moments and Sawyer flashbacks that explain why he was in Australia after finishing that Ethan Arc we're building on some other storylines in the first flashback Sawyer is a kid and his mum is telling him to hide under the bed while his dad is banging on the door gets under and hides and then his dad shoots his mum and then shoots himself remember Sawyer was the name of the con man that slept with our Sawyer's mother and stole their money causing the dad's breakdown in flashback 2 Sawyer is in con man mode and seducing this lady and a man named hips pays him a visit hibs tells Sawyer that he knows the whereabouts of the man that ruined his life the original Sawyer apparently he's now known as Frank duckett and lives in Sydney and in Flashback 3 Sawyer is in Sydney meeting a guy to buy a gun on the island it's night 29 and Sawyer wakes up to find a boar looting in his tent he chases the boy into the jungle and hears The Whispers And he can hear them saying it'll come back around he hears them again when he goes to retrieve the stolen tent the next day meanwhile Jack has put all the guns back in the case post ethangate except for one which Sawyer has but Kate reckons she can get it off Sawyer because she speaks his language she joined Sawyer on his boar hunting Revenge Expedition as a Tracker in exchange for carte blanche which basically means she can have whatever she wants from his stash no questions asked while they're camping out to hunt the board they played never have I ever and it gets spicy Kate drinks on I've never been married and then they both drink on I've never killed a man looks like we got something in common after all we knew that Kate killed someone but we didn't know that she was married anyway the ball keeps terrorizing Sawyer in Flashback 4 Sawyer goes to Frank duckett's Shrimp Truck in Sydney pause we do not call it shrimp in Australia and this is supposedly happening in Sydney absolutely not that's a prawn anyway he's about to kill Frank but then chickens out at the last second and goes to a bar to drown his sorrows and who does he meet in said bar a crusty drunk American named Christian Shepherd yes of Jack daddy fan this guy right here is an excellent actor he says to Sawyer some people are just supposed to suffer that's why the Red Sox will never win the damn series drunk Christian is talking and mentions his son and says that his son probably thinks that he hates him and feels betrayed by him but what he actually feels towards his son is gratitude this is of course referring to drunk surgery gate he says that he could call his son and fix everything right that instant but he can't because he's weak he's basically telling Sawyer don't end up like me go do what you need to do so in flashback five Sawyer goes back to the Shrimp Truck and kills Frank Duckett he's like I gotcha Mr Sawyer and this guy's dying like I don't know what the [ __ ] you're talking about turns out this random Frank Duckett guy owed hibs money and hibs wanted him dead so he told Sawyer that Frank Duckett was the original Sawyer so that he would go and kill him he basically conned the con man into being a Hitman while his dying Frank says it'll come back around which is what Sawyer heard in The Whispers so to summarize Sawyer basically murdered a random man and he's being haunted by this experience through a boar that's terrorizing him on the island he finally comes face to face with the ball that's been ruining everything and after a tense Face-Off he lets it go it's a symbolic thing he's moved on Claire's starting to remember bits and pieces and wants to hang out with Charlie but he's having a little PTSD moment post Ethan gate but he gets over it so he gives the last gun back to Jack citing Kate's card Blanche and Jack offhand says and that's why the Sox will never win the series soya's like er what and Jack's like oh it's just something my father would say to blame his actions on fate Sawyer puts one and one together and one and one is famously two right so he was like oh my God but he doesn't say anything oh my God time and place and you did it on the Mysterious Island Post Oceanic flight 815 crash episode 17 centers around Jin and thank God for that he's very interesting so I'm glad that we're finally digging into his backstory and there's also just so much going on right now in flashback one he's asking son's father Mr Pake permission to marry her and son's father asks Jen all his questions about Jin's Ambitions and dreams and what jyn's father thinks of the marriage and jyn says that his father is dead remember son's dad is Mega Rich Mega scary Organized Crime Boss Vibes Jin tells Mr Pake that his dream is sun and Mr pake's like oh you ate that application successful you may marry my daughter on one condition you have to work for me flashback 2 is Jin and son's wedding and they're so happy and sorrow in love we find out that they've pushed back their honeymoon so that Jin can do work for son's father to prove that he's committed now let's quickly jump back to present day on the island it's currently day 32 PC gin of course still has the Handcuff accessory on the baby bear sun is on the beach in her bikini and Jin's like oh absolutely not and he makes the scene trying to cover her up Michael intercepts to protect Sun but then him and Jin start going at each other and then Sun slaps Michael ah [Music] absolute gobsmackery now why would she do that jyn thinks that there's something going on between son and Michael remember he doesn't know that Michael knows that some can speak English in fact he doesn't even know that some can speak English Kate tells son to stop letting Jen push her around and sun says that he used to be different anyway sun goes to Michael and apologizes for the slap and she explains that she was actually protecting Michael because he has absolutely no idea what jyn is capable of now Mr Michael has been busy at work on his raft he's making good progress too bamboo for the decking piece of fuselage for the cabin is looking Georgina but who is going on the raft Michael says that there's four spots and three are already taken him Walt and Sawyer who bought a spot by trading some cables so there's only one spot left does the functioning raft sound like something you want because you're never gonna get it suddenly the raft is on fire and Michael thinks that jyn is responsible they were literally just beefing and who else would have burnt the raft everyone's running around looking for gin like Jin Jin Jin and sun goes to the caves and finds gin with burn wounds all over his arm it's not looking good in Flashback 3 jyn gets promoted to being son's father's Special Assistant his first task is to deliver a message to the Secretary of environmental safety so he does and the guy's like oh my God please don't hurt me my daughter is right there the daughter is in the lounge room watching news on the TV and look who's on the screen Hurley jyn's like oh the message from Mr Pake is that he's disappointed that's it and the guy's like oh my God I'm so sorry thank you for not hurting me take this dog it's a very expensive breed Jin's just kind of like right anyway this is the dog that Jin gives son in Flashback 4 Sun makes gin a nice meal but he has to leave because Mr Pake has caught him into work since Jin's message wasn't severe enough the factory was closed and Mr Pake is losing money so he's sending jyn back to environmental safety guy's house with a literal Hitman when they get there jyn runs in first and [ __ ] the guy's [ __ ] up but only so that the message is delivered without the Hitman killing the guy basically jyn is a good guy in a bad situation and remember all this is happening because he wanted to be with his son this is when he goes home covered in blood the same scenes from the flashbacks and and Sons episode he starts crying again good guy bad situation on the island Saeed tells Boone that things might be getting serious between him and Shannon and burns like she's a user I'd watch out if I were you remember he's currently winning the I don't give a [ __ ] War Shannon finds out about this conversation and goes looking for Boone and instead runs into lock and lock tells her to embrace her new life on the island and to stop going around in circles with burn basically stop giving him attention he doesn't need to be in your business like that post-raft on fire gate Jin had runoff but Sawyer has captured him and brought him to the beach everyone's yelling but jyn doesn't understand anything it's bad for him son sees Jin getting beat up by Michael and yells out in English I have never in my life yelled at a girl like this leave him alone he didn't burn your raft everyone is gagged beyond belief they've never been more gagged they were more gagged by this than the [ __ ] monster the polar bear the [ __ ] hatch the deaths the kidnapping they're also just kind of like why didn't you tell anyone you could speak English Jin meanwhile is like what the [ __ ] is going on in here on this day specifically day 33 luck arrives on the beach saying obviously Jin didn't burn the raft idiots why would he do that he wants to get off this island just as badly as the rest of us it must have been the elusive others Jin does not even want to look at Sun he feels so betrayed knowing that jyn won't be able to understand her son says to him in English I was going to leave you I was going to get away but you made me change my mind you made me think that you still loved me and then in Korean she says I want to go back to the beginning can't we just start all over Jin's last flashback is him going to talk to his poor fisherman dad the one that he told everyone was dead he apologizes for being ashamed of him and tells him about son he says the last job he'll do for Sun's father is to deliver some watches from Sydney to LA and then he's going to get out on the island Jin tells son that it's too late for them to go back and he packs his [ __ ] to go live on the beach he joins the raft 2.0 construction Squad and secures that fourth spot at the end of the episode we also have Shannon kissing Saeed son having a drama-free bikini moment and lock telling Walt that he knows that Walt was the one who burned the raft what Walt's reasoning for burning the raft he didn't want to move anymore he likes it on the island don't piss me off kids are just always in everyone's business doing anything while it needs to be voted off the island for that behavior also at the end of the episode Hurley's CD player battery runs out I wanted to get a different pointer and I couldn't decide between this fun looking screwdriver which is kind of a little bit Elder Wand and then I came across this Rusty screwdriver and I think this is so perfect so speaking of Hurley he's got the next episode titled numbers this episode is so [ __ ] fantastic it's one of my favorites of the Season you're talking about the numbers guys the numbers you just don't get it me and the numbers were like this put yourself in my shoes okay I'm someone who hyper fixates on numbers and patterns and then this show comes along that has a spooky set of numbers it's a Dream It's a literal dream okay so it's day 35 and Michael and jyn are well underway with rough 2.0 construction Michael asked Jack for some sort of SOS signal that they can use when they're floating in the [ __ ] ocean to Signal a passing ship and Jack's like uh we don't have any batteries for that kind of activity oh wait say it's at the French lady had batteries so Jack and Hurley go to talk to Syed who's like absolutely [ __ ] nut she's not gonna give you something she needs and she's just talking [ __ ] anyway it's all [ __ ] her notes makes sense Hurley's looking at said notes and papers and he sees this and he's like what the [ __ ] 4 8 15 16 23 42. right I'm starting to lose speech because it's making me speechless now would be a good time for us to go through Hurley's flashbacks in flashback one Hurley's watching TV at home on a Saturday night at his mom's house this is his mum here she's iconic he's watching the Mega Lotto jackpot there hasn't been a winner in 16 weeks so the jackpot is [ __ ] huge the winning numbers get called out 4 8 15 16 23 42 which the numbers that Hurley has oh my God he faints also the woman calling the numbers does she look familiar yes she does she's the woman Sawyer was seducing when hibs showed up with the dodgy Frank ducat information she's also played by Brittany Perino who is the wife of Harold parano who plays Michael in flashback 2 Hurley's outside his house doing press about his record-winning Lotto win he's introducing his family including his mum and his grandpa who recently had a pacemaker put in four years ago Harley says he's going to use the money to give his grandpa the rest he deserves and then the grandpa Falls over and dies just in the middle of the press conference oh in Flashback 3 Hurley is driving his mum to the huge house that he has surprise bought her during the drive he suggested to her that perhaps the numbers are cursed because so much bad stuff has happened since he won using them including at the Grandpa's funeral the priest being struck by lightning and she's like um Rena salyama STFU she thinks he's being silly because curses don't exist right anyway they pull up to the house Hurley puts the blindfold on his mum for the surprise she steps out of the Hummer and breaks her ankle then there's suddenly a fire in the brand new house he goes to call 9-1-1 but the police show up and falsely arrest him in Flashback 4 Hurley's talking to his accountant who's saying that all his stocks are doing great and he's now the majority shareholder in a box company in Tustin does that sound familiar pussycat doll's unreleased track Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps it sounds like the box company that lock worked for Hurley mentions having bad luck since winning and the accountants like oh please you're not the first winner to think that the money's curse and Hurley's like Waits maybe it's not the money maybe it's the numbers you're talking about the numbers in flashback 5 Hurley's at a mental institution to see Mona vanderwaal just kidding he's there to see someone called Lenny a doctor comes up to Hurley and says Hugo it's so good to see you what are you doing back here okay what's that about he takes Hurley to the visitors room to see this Landing guy and it's very clear that Hugo and Lenny knew each other Lenny is sitting there repeating numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42. Hugo's trying to get answers out of him he's like where did you get the numbers I used them for the lottery upon hearing this Lenny starts screaming and he says you shouldn't have used the numbers you opened the box it doesn't stop you need to get away from the numbers he also says Sam to me he heard them calgully he heard them where he used to work calgully is a town in Western Australia the state where I'm from this Show's basically about me if you really think about it in flashback 6 Hugo is in kalgoorlie looking for this Sam Toomey guy but his wife answers and says that Sam has been dead for how many years four really talks to her about Sam hearing something and this is when she says you're talking about the numbers yes one of my favorite things about the flashbacks in Lost is sometimes it's very clear when they couldn't get an Australian actor in to do an Australian character that accent is diabolical so anyway the numbers the lady says that Sam and Leonard were stationed at a listening post monitoring long wave Transmissions out of the Pacific they usually didn't hear anything but one night 16 years ago they heard a voice repeating the numbers over and over again Sam then used these numbers for a guess the beans and the jar competition in kalgoorlie and got it exactly right and 150 Grand from then on he was plagued by bad luck but not directly to him to others around him the only way he made it stop was by sliding in the sewer it's weird though because the lady gets mad when Hurley suggested the numbers are cursed like why are you dying on that Hill lady pick a struggle on the beach Hurley's asking Syed if he's worked out what the numbers meant and also asking how he found Russo remember the cable on the beach that led to the Trap he steals the notes with the numbers and quietly sneaks away from Camp you're talking better numbers sorry sorry sorry sorry the next day Saeed realizes that Hurley has taken the papers and has gone after Russo an X-Men team is assembled we've got Saeed Jack and Charlie to go stop Hurley they arrive just in time to intercept him as he stepped on a pressure trap they asked him they're like what the [ __ ] are you doing and he's like um just trying to Source a battery for the raft nothing else to see here no other motive going on then they come across a rickety Bridge scream who the [ __ ] built the rickety Bridge Russo couldn't have done it herself and it also looks like it predates when she came onto the Island 16 years ago Hurley goes YOLO mode and crosses the bridge Charlie follows him and crosses the bridge but then the bridge collapses separating Hurley and Charlie from Syed and Jack both parties on either side of the broken bridge continue to search for Russo Saeed and Jack come across a trap that blows up Russo's Lair so they found the lair at least but she's clearly rigged it and ran off because she knew that Saeed would come back for our other Duo Hurley's about to tell Charlie about the numbers and how he thinks he might be responsible for the plane crash and then Russo pulls up putting Hurley at gunpoint and separating him from Charlie even though he's very clearly in danger Hurley is on investigative journalist mode he's like hey babe hey French lady babe what the [ __ ] do the numbers mean and she's like I don't know bro she says that her ship picked up a transmission a voice repeating the numbers so they changed course to investigate and got Shipwrecked time kind of this makes sense because that lady you talk about the numbers said that Leonard and Sam came across the transmission 16 years ago and Russo was Shipwrecked 16 years ago so it would seem that both parties heard the same voice repeating the numbers Rousseau says that after being Shipwrecked they kept searching for the source of the transmission and found a radio tower up near the Black Rock then the sickness came her team was gone so she went back up to the tower and changed the transmission to her distress signal Billy tells her that he thinks the numbers are cursed and she's like yeah that checks out you're right the numbers are cursed he breaks down and hugs her because finally someone agrees with him Charlie catches up with Jack and Saeed and he's like oh my god let's go find Hurley we were ambushed but then Hurley just waltzes in battery in hand and he's like she says hey yeah sir elsewhere Locke has asked nine month pregnant Claire to help him with the building project and she's like uh okay I'm literally nine months pregnant but sure turns out he's building a cot for the baby Claire tells lock that it's her birthday today Day 36 and lock tells her that it's good luck that her birthday is near her babies you just made that up good luck is not really in a abundance on this island Hurley tries again to tell Charlie about the numbers but Charlie keeps talking over him he's like everyone has bad luck I was snorting heroin in the toilet when the plane went down you're not special and then he's like I just told you a huge secret so you tell me something real so Hurley says back home I'm worth 156 million dollars yeah right piss off liar keep telling jokes then the end of this episode is gagatron 3000 it's a shot of the half excavated hatch we zoom in and what do we see on the side and then we go to the gay club and who do I see as soon as we get in the door Abby Lee Miller in her wheelchair it's the [ __ ] numbers you're talking about the numbers scream scream collapse people died well yes people have died on the island actually Four the air marshal flop Joanna with the drowning flop Scott being murdered by Ethan and then Ethan episode 19 is another Banger Bang A Rang base one it's a lock episode so you know there's gonna be some cooked [ __ ] it starts with a flashback of lock working in a toy store telling a kid about the game mousetrap and as soon as he says spring the Trap he notices this lady we'd love an illusion also notice that he's not in the wheelchair in flashback 2 lock notices the same lady following him in the car park he follows her gets hit by a car specifically a gold Pontiac it's clever because you know that he's going to end up in a wheelchair but you don't know how so you're like okay maybe this is what causes it but it doesn't he gets up and he catches the lady she tells him that she's his mother she's a little bit of a cooker she tells him that he was immaculately conceived in Flashback 3 lockhigh is a pi to investigate and it turns out the lady really is his mother the pi has also done some investigating on Lock's father so lock pulls up to Anthony Cooper's house to see his father this guy right here absolutely not he's Rich no family likes hunting asks John to go hunting with him in Flashback 4 lock turns up to Anthony's house for another day of hunting and walks in on Anthony connected to a dialysis machine turns out his kidney is failing and he needs a transplant but he's way down on the list in Flashback 5 Anthony's putting the guilt on lock saying I'm gonna die tihi but at least we met in flashback 6 lock is going into surgery with Anthony to give him his kidney in flashback 7 post surgery lock can't see Anthony anywhere and it seems like he's already left the hospital but locks mother's there and she tells him that Anthony gave her money to go and find Locke in the first place and that lock has basically been scammed out of a kidney that's not that's not ideal lock bounces from the hospital and pulls up to Anthony's house still with surgery wounds and he's like you can't do this back on the island it is now day 39-ish lock and Boone have been trying unsuccessfully to get into the hatch by breaking the glass they've excavated a lot and this thing is huge during one unsuccessful attempt to break the glass A piece of shrapnel goes interlock's leg and he doesn't notice spoons like ah bro you got a little something something sticking out of your leg looks like luck is starting to lose feeling in his legs remember pre-crash lock couldn't walk and post-crash he suddenly could so now Lock's like oh [ __ ] here we go again it would seem that not only the island giveth but perhaps henceforth the island also taketh away they keep running into dead ends trying to open the hatch and lock says to Boone we didn't find this by accident the island will tell us what to do the island will send us a sign and burns like Locke has a dream that he and Boone see a plane crash onto the island and then his mother's there pointing at the plane and then suddenly Boone is covered in blood saying Teresa Falls up the stairs Teresa falls down the stairs lock wakes up like that was fantastic that was great that dream delicious it must be the sign that I'm looking for I gotta go find that plane hit byo's Boon and tells Boon about the dream and burns like babes you've truly lost at your absolute flop but then John says who's Theresa and Boone is flawed how do you know know about that things are getting spooky on a grande even maybe a little bit larger than a grande things are getting spooky uneventy that's so stupid spookiana Trenta so they keep searching for the jungle they come across a corpse wearing rosary beads and priest robes in the robes they find Nigerian money and a gun so perhaps this wasn't your typical Pricks luck keeps collapsing his legs are giving in he tells Boone how he was paralyzed pre-crash and how the island made him whole he now seems to want to take that back because of all the spookyana venti [ __ ] that's happening burns like yeah cool I believe you now I'll carry you so he can keep going he also tells lock that Teresa was the name of his nanny who fell down the stairs and broke her neck and while Burns talking behind him lock can see the [ __ ] plane oh my God that [ __ ] real housewives promo thing that's like oh my God since lock can't move burns the one that's got to climb up to the plane and find out what's in there because whatever's in there must help them open the hatch right it's a long climb up but he gets there he climbs into the plane and finds another skeleton and a bunch of Mary statues filled with Heroin seems like Mr priest's plural or smuggling drugs and crashed onto the island and then he tries the plane's radio and it works but the plane's about to collapse off the cliff so Burns got the radio and he's like mayday mayday mayday and then a voice says is somebody there so then Boone says we're survivors of the crash of oceanic fly 815 and it sounds like the person on the other end of the radio says we are the survivors of the crash of oceanic flight 815 and then the plane nose dives off the cliff with Boone inside lock drags Boone out of the collapsed plane and Carries him back to the caves with his half-working legs Boone is a mess like oh lacerations breaks the whole shebang lock tells Jack that Boone fell off a cliff and Jack's like what the [ __ ] but then lock disappears and runs off to the hatch the last scene of this episode oh my God oh my God block is having a breakdown at the hatch and he's crying and he's saying I've done everything you wanted me to do so why did you do this to me to me why did you do this to me not Boone who's dying in the caves to me and then a light turns on inside the hatch oh my God I love the hatch I love the hatch I love the hatch I love the storytelling concept of the hatch of the spookiness the spookyana ventiness of the hatch I love the engineeringness of the hatch a bit of Steel a bit of glass you guys know I love that also it's worth noting that the Boon crash happened on day 41 also a subplot from this episode was Sawyer having migraines which is very very very very very very very very very mean-coded Kate gets Jack on the case and Jack works out that Sawyer is nearsighted and needs glasses it's episode 20 now and our survivors all have drench for it they're all on the trench collectively Burns giving corpse a little bit like he's still alive but he's barely breathing Jack is fighting for his life and also Burns Boone's got lacerations everywhere he's got a [ __ ] up leg his lung just collapsed Jack has to stab him in the chest with a knitting needle like I'm not gonna lie it's bad but Jack's not gonna give up he's going to save Boone Jax also got Sun as his surgery to IC which is Iconic she's kind of giving Herbal Remedies Queen and actually outsold Jack a little bit but that's none of my business interestingly this is not a burn flashbacks episode it's centered around Jack so he gets some flash Jacks in flashback one Jack's getting suited up for a wedding plot twist it's his wedding he's the groom say what we didn't know he was married in flashback 2 he's at like an engagement dinner or pre-wedding dinner or something I don't know and we meet Jack's fiancee Claire Dunphy in Her speech at the dinner she says that she broke her back in a car accident which is important for later and everyone told her that it was irreparable but then Jack came along and fixed her in Flashback 3 Jack is writing his vows by the hotel pool and Krusty dad Christian shows up they have a little d m and Christian's like do you love her why sitting in the pool drinking vodka right now Jack realizes that he asked Claire Dunphy Sarah her name's Sarah he asked Sarah to marry him because he saved her life it's sort of like a savior syndrome I guess it would seem that old mate jack is not good at Letting Go Flashback 4 is Jack and Claire Dunphy's wedding and they're at the altar doing vows and he chokes he didn't write any vows it looks like he's about to hashtag cancel the wedding at the altar but then boom boom shake the room he's like I love you and I always will and then they get married so what's that about it would seem there are several undisclosed marital relationships on This Island Jack stitches up Boone's insane chest wound and then he's like [ __ ] Boone needs a blood transfusion he's gushing he sends Kate to the beach to get alcohol off soya for surgery and on Kate's way back to the caves she comes across Claire literally about to have a baby in the jungle this is also season finale and yet it's not so Kate's with Claire she's calling for help and jyn hears them and comes running I love love love that they made gin be the one that he's the call because it makes things so much more complicated Kate's trying to get through the language barrier with Jin and she says Jack Caves at the caves surgical theater Jack and son are trying to work out what burns blood type is but he manages to whisper a negative so now they've got to find a match what do you know there's no a negatives in the camp but Jack is O Negative so he's a universal donor mean [ __ ] wild they can't find Shannon to tell her that her stepbrother boyfriend Boone is dying because she's on a bachelor Beach destination date with Syed oh my God on said date Shannon tells Syed that Boone's in love with her and said like oh that's weird maybe we should go back to the caves but Shannon's like no don't worry about it let's continue with our Bachelor Beach destination day Jin Sprints into camp and finds Jack to fetch him for the literal jungle birth it's intense because Jack is mid blood transfusion and sun is there but jyn and Son aren't exactly on speaking terms in fact some thinks that jyn will never talk to her again because she humiliated him with the English reveal Jack's losing blood and he's like oh my God for [ __ ] sake when it rains it pulls right he tells Charlie to go back with gin and to tell Kate that she's got to deliver the baby it's just [ __ ] chaos Boone temporarily and Consciousness and tells Jack it fell on me it was a plane the plane fell because of a hatch we found a hatch lock said not to tell about the hatch Jack's like what the actual [ __ ] is going on here Locke told me that you fell off a cliff what the [ __ ] is the hatch now to make things even worse all the blood from the transfusion is pulling in Boone's broken leg it's called like compartment syndrome or something jack's looking at the broken leg and realizes you didn't get that from a fall something fell on you looks like they're gonna have to amputate the leg so Jack's like cool let's use this blunt edge of the cargo compartment to chop the leg off and our legendary surgery too I see sun says you've lost the plot you need to give up Burns even started coughing up blood so Sun's like nah it's game over you can't save him jack and jack says to son don't tell me what I can't do does that sound familiar yeah that's what lock kept saying in his flashbacks the lockification of it all so Jack's about to amputate the leg like little psycho Boone says wait I'm all messed up inside there's no chance just let let me die I know you made a promise I'm letting you off the hook damn this shit's got me a little emotional right now Jack's a mess he's crying he's saying I'm sorry meanwhile Claire's stressing because she's realized oh my God I'm about to have a baby in the jungle on an island after a plane crash be for real Charlie and jyn turn up and Kate's like um okay guess I'm in my Midwife era so push push push the baby is born it's a boy this is all happening while burn is dying as I said before it's all about balance the island giveth and the island taketh away the juxtaposition of the baby being born while Boone is dying is so Glee season one Quinn giving birth during New Directions singing Bohemian Rhapsody at regionals spoons last words are tell Shannon and then he dies tell Shannon what babes and I'm gonna be real this pissed me off why did you have to kill the hot one Claire brings the baby to the beach and everyone's like yes sir but then Shannon turns up after her Bachelor Beach date and uh oh Vibe Chef Jack tells Shannon that Boone died and it's [ __ ] Carnage at the end of the day she's just a teenage girl of 20 years of age hashtag Boone death kind of ruined Claire's baby debut not gonna lie like there's just so much happening on the island TL right now Boon trending number one and baby trending number two at the end of the episode Kate's with Jack and she's like do you want to talk about it Boone just died [Music] and Jack says he didn't die he was murdered he was murdered what I'm gonna go find John Locke and then the music changes from the life and death theme to the spooky strings where are you going find John Locke [Applause] very very good episode we've had like three absolute bangers in a row we're in episode 21 now and Shannon is a mess but it's not her episode it's say it's in flashback one he's being detained at Heathrow Airport by these scaries Melissa Cole from the CIA and Robbie Hewitt from ASAS apparently 300 kilograms of explosives was stolen just outside of Melbourne to be used in Iraq and they want him to get it back Melbourne every time they mention a city or town in Australia like Melbourne or kalgoorlie I do a double take I'm just not used to it like all these TV shows are usually set in America everything's American American anyway say it's like um I'm not a terrorist and they're like we now but you know a terrorist this guy Assam apparently they were roommates in college and saeed's like right and what about it it's still no so these two say we know where she is and who's she your mother it's Nadia the girl he helped Escape for some reason I forgot to put the bloody picture on here but you know which picture I'm talking about is the picture of Nadia the one where she pulled up to the studio and said I want to make history in flashback 2 Saeed is in Sydney scorpion Assam he asks Assam how Zara is who I presume is assam's wife and Assam says that she died from a stray bomb while shopping for a dress later they're at assam's apartment with his housemates and said finds a fake smoke alarm which is actually a listening device so now Assam and the housemates trust him in flashback three Assam tells Saeed that the operation boss Haddad told Assam that he's going to be the Martyr in what they're planning Saeed knows that assam's not necessarily a bad guy so Saeed tells the CIA people you need to save him and they're like no you're going to tell him to go through with it and we're going to catch him at the last second with all the explosives because at the moment no one knows where they are and you better follow our instructions or we'll arrest your girlfriend in Flashback 4 Syed saying all this stuff to Osan to try and convince him to go through with it and then assam's like okay bet I'll do it if you do it with me in flashback five it's the day of the operation Saeed and Assam get the truck that has the explosives in it so he tells him that he's working with the CIA and gives him 10 minutes to run before he calls them Assam starts spiraling and pulls a gun on Saeed but then shoots himself in flashback 6 the CIA gives say the location of Nadia since he completed his end of the deal by delivering the explosives to them tell Saeed Nadia is in California your Oceanic flight leaves in two hours it's the flight actually it's not the officials say that they're going to cremate assam's body and say it's like oh that's not you got to bury him there's no one to claim the body I'll claim the body you'll be on a flight so move the flight and that's how he ends up on oceanic flight 8 15. it's now day 42 on the island and Jack and Kate are looking for lock Jack is [ __ ] fuming because Locke lied and said that Boone fell off a cliff which is what Jack based his treatment on when an actual fact Burns leg was crushed which caused the blood pooling and I don't mean to drop a surprise rhyme on you right now but Boone died because Locke lied but I mean let's be real who's probably gonna die anyway even if Jack knew that leg was crushed I don't think he would have been able to save him the survivor's host Boone's funeral his booner rule if you will sorry actually no I'm not sorry I have clearance to make that joke because Michael giaccino titled the Shannon and Boone theme burner rule block turns up to the funeral saying it was my fault and explains the plane and Boone climbing up in the radio and Jack [ __ ] flips it where the hell were you you son of a [ __ ] you left him to die you lied to me he lunges at luck and everyone has to pull him off I'm really enjoying the Aesthetics of this Rusty screwdriver later on lock brings Shannon Boone's back and they're kind of having a little DNM and I'm like Shannon that's a shady [ __ ] leave him in the dust he's asking for forgiveness but he's still lying to everyone Shannon's acting all chill in front of lock but she goes to Syed and she says you asked if you could do anything for me John Locke killed my brother will you do something about that and she says it in this monotone voice John Locke killed my brother will you do something about that square root of 64. two times four eight see when your mother Jack has gone feral on the log hate train and he refuses to rest even though he just lost like half his blood during the transfusion so Kate drugs him to make him sleep Saeed says to lock take me to the plane so I can salvage parts from the radio and while walking there he asks like seven trillion questions he's in interrogation mode they find the plane and all the heroine Locke asks Syed why he still doesn't trust him and say he's like well [ __ ] you got a secret gun on you referring to the decomposing priest's gun so looks like hmm gotta build trust okay let me tell you something that you don't know remember when you got hit on the head trying to triangulate the signal yeah that was match so what's up with that lux looking real shady right now Locke says that he did what was in everyone's best interest you were going to take people to the source of a transmission that was saying they're all dead it killed everyone this [ __ ] clown like stay in your lane say it's not having a bar of it he's like okay you crushed a dusted bold [ __ ] what's the hatch Boone mentioned to hatch just before he died and Lock's just like oh hatch um hatch I mean there's two hatches on a plane maybe that's what he was talking about Syed believes this [ __ ] he tells Shannon that lock is off the hook and she's pissed Jack wakes up from his slumber party Tinashe Britney Spears 2014 and the key to the gun case which is usually around his neck is gone someone has taken it he thinks it was luck it's actually sister Shannon now how does she know where the gun case is question mark save that question for season three maybe she's had enough and presumably wants to shoot lock for murdering her stepbrother boyfriend Saeed Kate and Jack ran into the jungle to find Shannon pointing the gun at lock she's serving why lie she shoots a warning shot so he tries to grab the gun off her she shoots luck but the bullet just grazes the side of his head Dr Jack was there and saw the whole thing but he was temporarily conscripted into the I don't give a [ __ ] wall and he walks off rather than help crusty annoying bold liar lock meanwhile Claire is sore sleep deprived because she doesn't want to leave the baby for one second in case he gets snatched and that's a very valid fear based on previous events Charlie takes the baby for a walk but he won't stop crying turns out the only thing that stops the baby's crying is Sawyer's voice it's cute or whatever we also have our RAF 2.0 construction squad on X Games mode they're making huge progress and they're nearly done the end of the episode is lock patching up his wound and Saeed rocks up saying I saved you because you're our best hope of surviving here but I know you lied you piece of [ __ ] show me the [ __ ] hatch it would seem that sometimes Saeed suffers from bad [ __ ] Idis episode 22 is the penultimate episode well sorry to kinder I'll explain that in a bit this right here is a Kate episode in flashback one she's got this crusty Alison delaurentis wig on and she's changing out her number plates for another fake set she sneaks into a motel room and dies the wig question mark question mark So now her hair looks like this there is absolutely no way that this is believable it's so funny like why did they do this you are not gone girl why didn't they just give her a wig and then she can just take the wig off like this wig is so Wiggy at the motel she picks up a letter addressed to Joan Hart and she's reading it crying okay another Alter Ego I guess in flashback too she's in a hospital delivering flowers to a Diane Jansen but she can't go into the hotel room because there's a ranger out the front a Ford Ranger pickup truck of course next we're in the hospital car park and this guy's getting into his car uh oh Kate is in his back seat saying hey Tom she just loves to commit a crime this Tom guy calls her Katie she asks him to help her get in to see Diane so on flashback three Tom has booked Diane in for an MRI so she'll be brought down to radiology and Kate can sneak in but they've got about three hours until that so they drive to this random tree and they start digging in Flashback 4 they find what they're looking for it's a time capsule of memories including Tom's plane and a cassette labeled Kate and Tom 1989. I think the swifties might have dropped the ball a little bit because this was actually the first 1989 Easter egg yes that's right when Taylor Swift was 15 she actually contacted the writers to include this as an Easter egg for her album 1989. so Kate and Tom listen to the cassette on it little time is saying that he got the toy plane when he flew to Dallas for the first time by himself and it sounds like little Kate and little Tom were dating and thought that they would be married with kids in 20 years this [ __ ] kind of had me tearing up a little bit Evangeline Lilly does emotional distress so well little Kate's like nah as soon as we can drive let's run away you always run away and you know why why tell the audience in the car Kate and Tom kiss but it's like a sad kiss a more like what could have been kiss in Flashback 5 Tom gets Diane to a spot that Kate can see her in and Kate says Hi Mom miss Diane is looking rough she wakes up sees Kate and starts crying and there's a Vibe shift she seems scared of Kate and she starts screaming for help so let's go ahead and add that to the list of questions Kate starts running off the security guard tries to stop her she punches him Tom comes in like what the [ __ ] going on and she's like I need your car keys babe she just assaulted an officer another crime on the list they get in Tom's car and Kate's driving she tells him to get out because she has to go before backup is cold Tom's like nah so she flaws it an officer shoots at the car they make it out but then crash into another car specifically a gold Pontiac gold Pontiac seemed to be in everyone's business in this show anyway Tom is dead in the passenger seat stray bullet bullet with a stray kids fan bulletstream Maniac Kate looks at the toy plane in the back seat and runs off so this is the it belonged to the man I love it belonged to the man I killed reveal from episode 12. now back on the island it's day 43 Charlie's running his mouth saying how drive shaft his band would have had a sales Spike when he supposedly died in a plane crash and when he comes back alive it's going to be insane he's just so sure that the raft will be spotted and rescue will come meanwhile random new character arts arts arts a-r-z-t-r's arts hello he was a high school science teacher and he's running his mouth saying that it's been raining every afternoon which means monsoon season is nearly upon them because of that the trade winds will shift to the South but that's not what the raft Squad wants they want to go North to intercept a shipping Lane so basically they've got to leave ASAP ASAP suddenly Miss Kate wants to clock into the raft Squad she just loves to run away she loves it but remember there's a limited number of spots specifically four and we've got Michael Walt gin and Sawyer who have already bought tickets speaking of Jen Sun is begging him to talk to her but all he says is that he's going on the raft Kate Burns a passport photo presumably hers presumably so that when she gets rescued she can fake an identity and run Sawyer finds out that Kate wants his spot on the raft and these two start beefing he says that he knows that she was the criminal the air marshal was traveling with and knows that she doesn't want to be on the island when the rescue comes because she she's gonna get busted you're gonna be busted busted so it makes sense that she'd want to get ahead of her by being on the raft now things are really starting to amp up which sounds like a [ __ ] statement because they are already quite amped up which is true but they're getting more amped Saeed and lock bring Jack to see the [ __ ] hatch imagine being on an island for 43 days and then suddenly this scary bold man that you're actively beefing with that shows you this gigantic steel hatch door in the jungle and he's been digging it for three weeks oh Jack hates him Lock's just like well you didn't tell everyone about the guns for ages like you used your discretion I'm just using mine Jack wants to open the hatch which I don't know if that makes sense to me if anything he seems kind of risk averse his reasoning for wanting to open the hatch in the next episode makes sense but at this point in time I'm like I don't think that he would want to open it say it seems to be the only one talking some sense he's like absolutely [ __ ] nut has no handle maybe it was never meant to be open from the outside Michael gets food poisoning I don't like that sentence Michael gets food poisoning bolt goes to Kate to get Jack but Jack's out hatching with the X-Men she finally finds him coming back from the hatch and takes him to Mike Jack works out that Michael doesn't have food poisoning he was poisoned via water bottle Michael thinks that Sawyer did it because they had an argument about the catification of the raft Hurley's running his mouth and says oh maybe Kate did it she is a fugitive after all Lock's just listening like she's a what jackpoint blank asks Kate if she poisoned Michael and she's like do you honestly think I would be capable of something like that well yes anyway Michael and Sawyer are beefing again tensions are higher guys Michael called Sawyer a criminal and Sawyer's like oh you want a criminal ask Kate he grabs Kate's bag and empties it and finds the burnt passport turns out the passport was Joanna's the lady who drowned so Kate stole a dead lady's passport Sawyer tells everyone that Kate would do anything to get off the island and run away he basically blows up her goody good girl reputation in front of everyone and she tells everyone that she was wanted and she was being transported by the air marshal the survivors are kind of like that's scary lady like you're scary because of all this Michael gives Sawyer back his ticket on the raft then we get a spooky scene I would say this is a spookyana Trenta Walt is talking to luck and saying that he didn't poison his dad and looks like don't worry I know you wouldn't and he touches Walt's arm and as soon as they touch Walt says don't open it don't open that thing just don't open it okay premonition Jack works out that the person who made Michael sick was son she was trying to make Jin sick so that he wouldn't leave on the raft but then the plan went to [ __ ] because the water bottles got mixed up the secret's safe with Jack though he tells her that he won't tell the others what she did we find out later that Kate actually told Sun how to do the poisoning but Sun didn't tell Jack that detail Sawyer sort of kinda apologizes to Kate Kate asks him why is it so important for you to be on that raft and he says because there's nothing on this island worth staying for that's Kate shade because she was having like a flirty geometry moment between her Jack and Sawyer but now that's collapsed we also have Walt telling Michael that he was the one that burnt the raft but he's sorry now and Michael's like oh it's okay we don't have to go and Walt gets all spooky and says yes we do what do you know little boy okay so episode 23 finale part one it's getting so serious actually I might take my jacket off that's how serious it is the season finale is actually three episodes technically it's two episodes with part one being one hour and part two being two hours but I'll just refer to them as Parts one two and three and all three parts are just excellent this has a 9.0 on IMDb these are also the First episodes to have multi-character flashback slashback one is Walt watching cartoons in the hotel room at 5 23 am Michael gets shitty and Walt cracks it and tries to run out of the hotel causing a commotion in the hallway being like you're not my dad flashback 2 is a flash Jack and he's in the airport lounge having a drink when this lady sits down and orders a tequila and tonic with a wedge of lemon she asks Jack why he was yelling at the check-in lady and says that she's on the same flight she's very forward she's like oh your dad died how are you married and Jack says no not anymore which is interesting now this girlie's name is Anna Lucia and she says that her seat is 42 at back of the plane Vibes as we know Jack's seat number is 23b she goes to make a phone call and says they'll have another drink on the plane Flashback 3 is Sawyer in a police station apparently he had buttered Warren trust the minister of Agriculture fisheries and Forestry in a bar we also finally get Sawyer's real name it's James Ford the police officer with a terrible Australian accent says you're not worth what it costs us to incarcerate you you're being deported and your flight leaves this afternoon Flashback 4 is Kate and the Marshall declaring the guns case and he's being an ass and taunting her with the toy plane which we now know means a lot he also says that with the bank robbery she left all the money in the bank the only thing she took was the toy playing because it's the only thing she cares about in Flashback 5 Syed goes up to random lady Shannon and asks her to look after his bag for a moment she's like yeah whatever but then gets into a fight with Boone and leaves the bag unattended Boone's saying oh you never do anything and she's like you don't know what I'm capable of and then she goes and tells the security guard that some Arab guy left his bag and walked away as like a how's that to burn oh that's not in flashback six Sun accidentally spills coffee on gin and there's this [ __ ] racist lady be saying [ __ ] behind her on the beach it's day 44 and we're starting off with a bang because Russo has just walked into Camp rifle in hand she's staring at Claire and the baby and say he's like hey babe like what's going on like what are you doing here you're so crazy like what are you doing Russo says the others are coming and then boom opening theme the others are coming foreign that's that tasty delicious [ __ ] like I'll do the licking fingers like but I can't because I was touching a rusty screwdriver Russo tells them about how her team got stranded on the island when she was seven months pregnant she delivered the baby herself and they were only together for a week before she saw the black smoke a pillar of black smoke five kilometers Inland and then that night hashtag they came and took her hers in the baby baby Russo Alex Russo of Waverly Place Fame and Rousseau's saying well you better watch out because they're coming again you have three choices run hide or die at this point everyone's been through so much [ __ ] so they're just kind of like uh-huh right but then they see the black smoke and they're like oh [ __ ] the French lady's kind of making points right now yes black smoke bonjour do you speak English Russo's like well sucks for you guys I can disappear into the jungle so easily but your Camp has 40 plus people how are you going to hide them all and to stage left mishat they take Russo to the hatch and she's like what the [ __ ] is this if you think about it they kind of out explored her in this instance like she's been there for 16 years and didn't know about the hatch kind of embarrassing I remember she famously blew up her French lady Lair when Hurley came looking for her so it looks like where's the dynamite didn't it must be Italian she's like oh we're gonna go to the Black Rock to get that in the dark territory capital D capital T dark territory random character Arts is like oh you need me to help you handle the dynamite because you don't know how long it's been there or what condition it's in he's so Random like so low impact Jack gives Sawyer a gun just in case anything goes wrong on the raft he might not be back in time before the raft leaves and soy is the only one on the raft who knows how to use a gun the two of them say goodbye to each other they the famously two-thirds of the floated geometry Sawyer finally tells Jack that he met his dad in a bar and that Christian wanted to call Jack and say he's sorry and that he's proud and he loves him something tells me he never got around to making that call that was so bad sorry the Sawyer Redemption Arc is in full swing Jack's over here crying that interaction is actually so sweet Charlie's collecting messages in a bottle to put on the raft bomb squad says goodbye to the RAF Squad it's very emotional I mean they're [ __ ] been through it together Kate wants to crash lock plane for them to use with a radio transmitter and a flare gun also from the plane yeah it's a bit convenient that that Tech Works in this instance but whatever Sun gives jyn a book with Korean to English translation so that he can communicate on the boat I can't do it it's too sweet I can't do it sugar content's too high Jen apologizes to son and son says I'm sorry too you don't have to go now interestingly jyn says I think I'm in this place because I'm being punished and he's still going on the raft not to get away from Sun but to save her they're crying and hugging bro I love them so much oh my God I'm so glad they patched things up before he left because it's possible that they might never see each other again don't forget that the raft could sink or they could get rescued but not be able to find their way back to the island so the bomb squad X-Men team is Russo lock Jack Kate Hurley and arts I'm kind of questioning this because why would Saeed not be with them he's got the most military experience and he knows Russo so it doesn't really make sense that he's not there and why is Hurley there later on because Hurley's with the bomb squad things happen that makes sense with Hurley and because Saeed somewhere else that allows other things to happen so it makes sense in a convenient way but in terms of like a realism way it's like but then again like am I Really Gonna pinpoint issues with realism on Spooky Island anyway on their way to the dark territory loxes that Russo has scratches on her arm and she says that she got them from a bush that's one angry Bush so they arrive at the dark territory Russo says this is where it all began where my Dean got infected my mom damn lost his arm we must move quickly Montana lost his wife I didn't realize was that serious then the bomb squad gets chased by the monster everyone runs and hides in the trees except for lock and Hurley locks just like oh stand still bro it's not that serious it's going the other way anyway Rousseau tells Jack and Kate that the monster is a security system designed to protect the island oh okay oh okay yeah okay they arrive at the Black Rock and it's not a literal Rock Vibes now that I think about it also I think the experience of playing Uncharted altered my brain in the sense that if I was in this island crash experience and I had played Uncharted beforehand when I would see the black frog I'd be like slay let's climb it back on the beach everyone says final goodbyes while it says goodbye to Vincent who tries to swim after the raft and Walt has to tell him to swim back so you want me to collapse into a puddle hmm okay imagine being Vincent you're in Australia and then suddenly you're on a plane that crashes on an island and then 40 Days Later your owner goes on a rickety raft and gives you to some random white lady anyway Sawyer keeps looking for Kate but she's off Jessie J dynamiting the raft departs to the tune of a sweeping cinematic score shout out to Michael giaccino [Music] so finale part two which has a 9.2 on IMDb you could cut the tension with a rusty screwdriver like tensions are so high right now in light of the black spoke warning and possible others infiltration everyone on the beach is moving to the caves before Sundown Charlie wants a gun to protect Claire but Saeed won't give it to him give me a gun I mean Charlie's track record with guns is not great so I probably would have also said no let's get into this episode 24 flashback slash pack one is Jin going to the bathroom after coffee spillage gate and Saeed being Let Go by police after unattended baggage gate in the bathroom Jin runs into a white guy speaking Korean who says he works for Mr Pake and knows Jin is planning to run away and he says he has no choice but to deliver the watch or he'll lose some you are not free flashback 2 is Charlie being a drug addict and Flashback 3 is Michael calling his mum in the airport asking if she can raise Walt and Walt overhears so Michael's like oh that's not at the Black Rock Russo's like dynamites in there have fun I'm off and she disappears into the jungle excuse me where are you going Jack Kate and lock going to the spooky ship and her alien asked wait outside Arts tells Hurley that he feels like he's not cool enough to be in the Cool Kids Click with Hurley Kate lock Jack Etc simply put Arts has beef you people think you're the only ones doing anything of value I get the frustration though like he knows he's not that girl I said this before but if I was one of the original survivors and I wasn't included in the cool fun [ __ ] I'd be pissy too lock deducts that the Black Rock must have been a slave ship from Eastern Africa heading to a mining Colony inside they find the dynamite crate and bring it out and arts is like put that down near he explains that old Dynamite is so dangerous to hold because it sweats nitroglycerin he grabs one stick of dynamite and wraps it up in Kate's shirt and he's running his mouth and then he blows up yes that's right he blows up the dynamite explodes and he blows up chunks of Arts rained down on Kate lock Jack and Hurley like yucky that's yucky like did he really need to do that that's so yucky and then they all just kind of keep going about their business after someone just exploded in front of them and onto them later on Hurley tells Kate that this happened because her Charlie's bad luck he shouldn't have even come in the first place and Kate's like oh no it was an accident but again why did Hurley go on the dynamite Expedition so lock and Jack proceed with carrying the dynamite even though it just blew someone up I think it's fair to say they just earned a rare medal in the I don't give a [ __ ] wall on the beach Russo pops up next to Charlie and Claire saying where's Saeed I need so you'd somebody get me so you Charlie's like damn okay lady say it's hiking to the caves I'll go get him for you as a result he leaves Claire and the baby alone with Russo French lady's like can I hold your baby please me and then Claire says the scars on Russo's arm and remembers giving Rousseau those scars in the jungle from her memory loss Ethan era we still don't know anything about what happened between her being taken by Ethan and lock and burn finding her stumbling Through the Jungle how Russo and the scratches fit into that we have absolutely no idea so upon this scratched arm realization Claire starts spinning the [ __ ] out Charlie catches up to Saeed and they run back to the beach to find sun screaming for help Claire's been knocked out her head is bleeding and the baby's gone Russo took the baby Charlie punches Syed because this is apparently all his fault because he didn't give Charlie a gun again I'm team Saeed on this Saeed reckons he knows where Russo is going with the baby so him and Charlie gonna go catch her his theory is that she's going to the black smoke to trade Claire's baby for her daughter that was snatched 16 years ago and because they're stepping out on his little dangerous Adventure so he does give Charlie the gun as they're leaving Claire tells Charlie to get Aaron back so there you go the baby's name is Aaron also this is our plot convenience reason as to why Syed didn't join the dynamite Excursion which so needed to be looking for Syed when she came to the beach so that she could snatch the baby but then also I guess she probably wouldn't have known that Saeed wasn't going to be at the beach and was going to be at the caves so then Charlie could go get Zaid leaving Claire alone I wonder how it would have played out if Syed went on the dynamite Excursion anyway the Dynamite crew draw short straws to work out who's going to carry some sticks six sticks across two backpacks in case someone blows up the two people that draw the short straws are Kate and lock and jack is not happy that Kate is going to be carrying some Ultra dangerous Dynamite little does he know that she's crime Adventure girl like she's built for this stuff on the boat Michael and Walt are dnming Walt's like why did my mom not let me see you and Michael's like oh she just did what she thought was best for you and while it's like well she was wrong that is so far the Sun Redemption Arc as you can probably tell by now on this show Lost giveth and then lost taketh away because as soon as we get this nice moment the raft hits a log and loses its Rudder so Sawyer has to dive in after it they get it back but in the process Michael sees that Sawyer has a gun remember it's the gun that Jack gave Sawyer at the caves sun is talking to Shannon and says do you think that everything thing that's happening here is happening because we're being punished by Fate for everything that we did before Claire chimes in Claire chimes in like no flops there's no such thing as fate if anyone would believe fate is real wouldn't it be clear based on a little psychic Extravaganza elegansa experience this of course is a continuation of the conversation that sun had with Jin I also think this might be the first Shannon and Son interaction and I really like their energy so I wish there had been more Saeed and Charlie are running through the jungle to the black smoke and they take a break at the Boon crash plane the Nigerian heroine smuggling plane Charlie's looking at it like wait I know someone who loves heroin Dynamite Squad is now making their way to the hatch with the nitroglycerin in tow and they see this [ __ ] off Big Bird and that will become important but like much much later and now time for finale part three I feel like I need the rusty screwdriver for this this episode is rated 9.3 on IMDb which is [ __ ] huge and for good reason Jack and Kate see a mini smoke monster and then a big smoke monster and they run away crazy [ __ ] log walks towards the monster Falls over and stares directly into it now have a listen to what it sounds like it sounds very mechanical engineering right Lock's like oh okay I thought we were besties you and me monster but I guess not this is something serious and he tries to run away and Jack tries to save him the monster starts dragging lock through the jungle and tries to pull him into a hole but Jack grabs him just in time Jack tells Kate to get the dynamite out of his bag and she's temporarily like what I thought the dynamite was in my bag old mate Jack has savior complex remember he tells Kate to throw the dynamite into the hole and she does lock is fuming at this he actually wanted to be sucked down into the hole by the monster but because the dynamite the monster kind of blows up and disappears and they pull lock out now I'm pretty sure this is our first visual of the monster this whole time we've had allusions to her like big thud noises or like we've seen the trees being pulled up and knocked down but this is the first time we've actually seen something and it appears to be a cloud of smoke and we saw like that small smoke monster so the question is is that part of the big one how does the big one work like why does it sound mechanical and it's smoke like babes smoke it's not ripping up trees or is it on the raft Michael and jyn are learning English words like starboard and aft and the whole time during this scene I'm just thinking how are you [ __ ] like how does that work on a raft it gave me pause it really made me think if I was an island and I constructed the raft I don't think I would go on the raft for a few reasons first one is I'm just not built for the ocean okay like as I said before it's too big and too wet and too deep and second thing like you're gonna be out there for days and you have a lot of food there so you're gonna be sitting so how are you gonna do that okay you're just gonna off the side like I'm not seeing a bucket logistically it's just not something that I could see myself dealing well with yeah anyway Michael gives gin the watch and Jin's like no you can have it that is huge these two are kind of Besties now which means shit's gonna go south very soon Syed and Charlie are sprinting Through the Jungle Charlie Falls one of Russo's traps and a bunch of rocks fall onto his head and give him this huge gash say it's like all right flop you're done you're out you subbed out of the team go back to Camp Charlie's like absolutely not I gotta get that baby can't you just do some Soldier [ __ ] and fix my wound so Syed cauterizes this giant gash on Charlie's head with gunpowder like it's very heavy metal like it's very serious now would be a great time to do some flashbacks in flashback one Hurley wakes up in Sydney but his CD player tripped the power in the hotel room so his alarm didn't go off he was rushing to get to the airport can't take the lift because it's full and Charlie's in there actually he gets in his rental car and starts driving but then blows a tire now have a look at this I feel like that Monster energy lady that's like reading the stuff on the can Bottoms Up and the devil laughs 42 kilometer trip 23 degrees temperature 16 kilometers per hour speed then 15 then eight then four you're talking about the numbers why is the car in park though anyway the car is [ __ ] so he runs to the airport and checks in the lady makes him buy another ticket because he's big he's also at the wrong terminal so she's like oh Cassie you got a long way to go it looks like you're not meant to make this fly he pays this old guy wearing a Crazy Eights Casino hat sixteen hundred dollars to use his Mobility Scooter he gets to the gate but they've shut the gate but he begs and they let him on Hurley's like oh my God yes I finally got some luck so lucky that I got my flight yes can't wait to be in La soon oh that's not flashback 2 is locked in his wheelchair waiting to get on the plane and the special Transit chair isn't there so he gets carried on he drops the flight pamphlet and can't pick it up he's very clearly annoyed so back on the island the bomb squad are heading to the hatch Jack's like hey look babe what the [ __ ] was that back there and Lock's like oh you wouldn't get it it wasn't going to attack me I was being tested see Jack you're a man of science and I'm a man of Faith isn't it suspicious that we crash landed with so little injuries it wasn't an accident we were brought here for a reason Jack's not having a bar of it especially when Locke says that the person who brought them all to the island was the island and that burn was a sacrifice that the island demanded and apparently all of this is happening just so that they can open the hatch you know what luck is committed to being a loose unit and I respect that he just says anything maybe Locke has say anything itis they arrive at the hatch it's night time by the way in case you couldn't tell by the poorly lit pitchers Locke asks Hurley to take the extra Dynamite sticks a distance back so they don't blow up Kate runs the fuse lock and Jack rig the charges quick cut to the raft Squad at Sea Sawyer is checking the radar Michael thinks that Sawyer wants to die whoa why else would he want to risk his life to save everyone either he's a hero or he wants to die and then oh my God something pops up on the radar Saeed and Charlie arrive at the black smoke origin point it's just a random fire on a beach with no Footprints near it they can hear Aaron crying in the bushes Rousseau comes out crying saying they were not here huh she said she thought she could have traded the baby for her daughter but they never came but she heard Whispers saying that they were coming for the boy oh well it would seem there's actually another boy on a raft at the hatch the bomb squad finishes their setup and they're about to blow the door Hurley drops his extra Dynamite off and goes to meet them to light the fuse he walks past the hatch drops his torch goes to pick it up what does he see on the side of the hatch the numbers you're talking bit the numbers these are bad news cursed numbers remember he starts yelling stop we can't do this he's running to Jack and Kate saying their numbers are bad we have to stop and they're about to pause the operation but then psycho bold [ __ ] locks like [ __ ] you and your friends and lights diffuse anyway bro oh my God time and place and you did it at the hatch door Hurley tries to stomp out the fuse but it's too late the dynamite blows up back on the raft the radar blip gets closer but then gets further away and they're arguing about shooting the flare because this could be literally any anything and I only have one flare Michael shoots the flare into the sky looks like it worked because the radar blip gets closer again a boat pulls up with this really intense Spotlight and they're like yes we did it we did it Joe ganous I love good news the guys in this rescue boat turn up and they're like hey what's happening old plane crash that's crazy only the thing is we're gonna have to take the boy we're gonna have to take the boy huh hey [ __ ] love the titties what there's a Vibe shift Michael jyn and Sawyer are like uh sorry what no Sawyer reaches for his gun but one of the baddies on the Baddie boat is quicker on the draw and shoots Sawyer in the shoulder that's a [ __ ] tongue twister shoot Sawyer in the shoulder shoots shoulder shoots shoya in the soldier he falls into the water and Jin jumps in to save him in the commotion the baddies take Walt they throw a homemade bomb onto the raft and it blows up one could say that it was some homemade Dynamite right Lord wow wow wow so it would seem that they are coming for the boy was actually referring to Walt but who are they Saeed and Charlie bring Aaron back to Claire and she's like thank you so much Shannon's also super happy that saeed's back but uh-oh we can see in Charlie's bag that he stashed one of the Mary statues from the crashed Boon plane that is bad news then we get a flashback Montage scene of everyone boarding the the plane Kate being escorted Sawyer looking bad lock and Jack Charlie in his guitar case Sai looking at pictures of Nadia gin and the watch Michael and now freshly snatched Walt Shannon looking for her inhaler and dead Boon finding it Hurley just making it on and sitting down to read the French Flash comic dead Arts helping Claire with her bags it's just excellent because we now know why they were all flying from Sydney to La well almost all of these people who cares what Arts was doing oh now to finalize the finale the final finalement there the bomb squad runs to the hatch post-explosure the door has been blown open there's spooky music they Slide the door across and look into the hatch the camera zooms out to show how deep the hole goes it just keeps going and going and there's a broken ladder on the side and then it keeps going and then boom damn okay well now's probably a good time for me to give you a hint about my recap concept [Music]
