Lessons on Stories and Honesty

Let's dive into why this event mattered. This event mattered because of that one thing that influences human beings more than anything, which is story, a good story. A good story, or an often repeated story, is the reason that some of you are Christians. The story of Jesus and the great sacrifice, the drama of being nailed to a cross and dying for all of mankind's sins. The story of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, is why some of you are Muslims. Though you've never met the Prophet Muhammad, never shook his hand, never seen him. The story is all you have. In fact, if you didn't have that story, you couldn't possibly be a Muslim. You wouldn't know Islam. You probably wouldn't know monotheism itself. Stories are very impactful to the human psyche. There are certain things that affect our psyche very powerfully. Let me take you on a journey, if you would. When you're a child, you may be inclined to lying or dishonesty and blatant trickery due to your immaturity and not understanding how human societies function best. So maybe you sneak and eat a piece of candy and your parents say, hey, did you eat some candy? You say, no, I didn't. No, I didn't. You lie as an instinct, in fact, for you are not yet reformed. As we mature, we are taught and enculturated out of lying. Those of us who actually have a good nature, which should be most of us, we transition out of dishonesty more easily. Those who have wicked nature, which should be the smaller percentage, they're prone to criminality, prone to thoughtless violence and emotionalism. They may still be dishonest, but they're easy for us to see. They're low class people and we can tell it. Then you have a group of folks who get a bit clever in adulthood, and they continue lying and manipulating to get the advantage, and that is what has corrupted modern society. I'll give you an example. Let's say you have a proper boxing match between a Muhammad Ali and Smoking Joe Frazier or Muhammad Ali and Big George Foreman. That's a proper boxing match. If I were the promoter, I would only be telling the truth to say this is the rumble in the jungle. This is the truth. The Thrilla in Manila. This is going to be one of the best boxing matches you could ever see. We have the young, handsome Muhammad Ali, who is quick and fast and has a mouth that's just as fast as his hands and feet. You're going to want to be there. And then on the other hand, we have Big George Foreman. The man is the size of a bear and just as strong with bone-crushing punches. You're going to want to be there, and it's worth paying every penny for front row seats. And you would. would come and you would get every penny that you paid for. The show would deliver. In fact, it would over deliver. Conversely, you would have another promoter who, knowing the truth that he does not have two fighters that are worth seeing, he does not have two fighters who are true headliners, then he must get into story. Let me tell you about... Anthony James, you know, he just recovered from cancer and he's overcome so much in his life. So what does that have to do with boxing? Really nothing. Then they have to create a story for the other guy and they have to do what's called sell the fight. They have to sell the fight, which is to say they are intentionally manipulating the psychology of the consumer, of the boxing fan, and even pulling in a multitude who aren't boxing fans merely with the story. Those of you who have followed my work for some time, I teach you about human nature. I teach you about your own nature. In Boston University, I teach you how to master the self so that you might be worthy of influencing and leading others. And you won't have to try to make them submit to leadership. They'll come to you for leadership because you clearly are that developed. So what I just described to you with those two different types of boxing promoters is one really has the real deal. When he speaks in hyperbole, it's really not hyperbole. You know, he has two guys who are excellent pugilists. And then the other guy, having two fighters that are really not that good, he has to utilize story and tell you the background and then lie about how good the fight is going to be just to get you there. Here's the worst part of that dynamic. There's the master and the slave, the producer and the consumer. In that first dynamic, both sides win. If you're the producer, which is to say the promoter, the fighter, the venue, all of the folks who are going to make money, you're winning because you have to be the producer. two great fighters if you're the consumer the audience the boxing fans those in the stadium paying seat tickets those watching at home you win because it's going to be a great fight That's what's called a win-win, increasingly rare in this day. If, on the other hand, in the situation where you have two fighters who are not that good, and this promoter's trying to make money, and the fighters want to check too, and the venue, of course, wants to get broken off, and you have two fighters that are not very impressive, you have to lie, you create the story. And the people show up to the stadium because their psychology has been influenced, and we'll talk about that. You've marketed to them. So the people who are in together as partners, even the two fighters fighting each other are partners. They both know that they're not going to do a great job. They both know that they're past their prime. They both know that they can't deliver on what the promoter has spoken about. Even though they pretend to not like each other, even though they go to the weigh-in and slap each other and push and shove each other. It's all for show to influence your psychology and to create a story that will influence you. It's marketing and they are business partners engaging in theater and acting, which only fools the foolish. Those who are actually fools or those who have selected to be fools because they have yielded to the power of story, which is marketing. And in that case, you have a win lose. No matter which of those fighters lost the fight, they both won because they both collected purses. The promoters won. The venue won. Netflix won. Pay-per-view would have won. Who lost? The consumer lost. Those people who paid those expensive tickets lost in the stadium. Those people who watched at home and paid Netflix and got buffering and slow service lost. The true boxing fan. lost and that's really sad because you were lied to on purpose it was a money grab but that doesn't make it unique everything about boxing and sport in general is a money grab nothing wrong with grabbing money much wrong with lying to grab the money and there's even much more wrong with being the fool who handed over the money and this is why I'm speaking to you because I want to educate you out of being the fool. They even got me. I kid you not. They got me too. I paid a Netflix subscription right before I got on this live. I went and canceled it. Not because I can't afford it. Not because Netflix doesn't have other shows, but because I was actually angry that they had tricked me and I wasn't a part of the winning side of the deal. Jake Paul and Mike Tyson were partners and I got fooled into thinking that they might have had some bad blood. Mike Tyson might want it to. do him some harm and had the capacity to do such. Jake Paul was going to fight hard. I got fooled into not realizing that they were business partners where someone like me should have known this as clear as day. And you know what? It's wise that they're business partners because the audience wanted to see them beat each other within an inch of their lives, which benefits who? Just the audience, not the fighters. The fighters are there to collect a dollar. Why? They're at work. They're in their job. We seem to forget that. So they were pursuing their self-interest. We were pursuing our self-interest, and they were out of sync, and we suffered for that. I should have known better. In fact, you all who listen to me should have known better. I yielded to human psychology and excellent marketing. Shout out to my boy, Jake Paul. I don't even like Brody, but I got to respect the business acumen because I'm a real one. You know it was a terrible fight when I think a Netflix premium membership was like 16 bucks. I was mad that I spent 16 bucks. I would have rather burned the 16 bucks than give it to Netflix for what they did to me, which was a robbery of time. And it was really, they were monetizing hope. That was the true sadness to me is that they monetized hope. Jake Paul monetized hope. We thought we might see a champion rising and we thought we might see Iron Mike when really we saw an old man. making a good business deal to make his last grab for a big payday. And, you know, that's all fine. Shout out to Iron Mike. I think it's a beautiful thing that he got paid, but I hate that it was at my expense. I really do. The expense of my time and my capital. I really hate that it was at my expense. And I hate that I wasn't wise enough to sit back like a boss, let the dummies go and watch it, and then just do a reaction afterward after everybody was pissed off like I knew they'd be. I really am disappointed in myself. And that's why I'm doing this so that the saints do not. behave in the ways of the wicked and the ways of the average people. We should have knew better. We love boxing, but we should have known better. That was utterly despicable. Surprise, that went the distance. Jake, congratulations. First off, this dude, this ball head dude with the big nose, I have no clue why he's allowed to announce. I don't think he's ever been a fighter. He's not very eloquent, intelligent, not humorous, not good looking. There's nothing special about him. I don't know why that dweeb is allowed to be in that position. That's the kind of thing we should look into. Maybe he's a part of a particular community because there's no reason he should have that job. Congratulations on the victory. Are you surprised? that went the distance i listened to his tone somebody just finished a fade where's the energy in your voice where's the excitement you this dweeb is so hard to listen to first and foremost mike tyson it's such an honor let's give it up for mike bro this is he's a legend so first off this shows that there's no animosity there's no hate he's doing the honorable thing that people would describe as classy he's acknowledging his opponents and his opponent's greatness not mike's greatness of today but Mike's greatness of the past. And that's why I always tell you guys, get Boston University, study it, review it, and execute on it. Why? Because most of what you guys will have in this world will be due to what you did earlier in life. You need to establish that foundation so that you could float on financially based on your past accomplishments, past reputation. That's what Mike is existing on right now. Because what he did in that ring was very unimpressive, not commendable at all. In fact, it was pathetic their entire rounds where he scarcely threw a punch. That is bad boxing. I don't care if you're an amateur. That's bad boxing, okay? It's cowardly and it's weak. Now, I'm going to say it was cowardly in his case. He was just old and feeble. It's the best he could do. But the point is he's floating based on his past accomplishments. And that's why I encourage you guys, I don't care if you're $50 or $50. I don't care if you're 50 years old or 80 years old. You'll never be younger than you are today. Today is the youngest you will ever be. Tomorrow, you're a day older. If you haven't gotten Boston University, you haven't gotten to work on yourself, get to work on yourself now. Mike Tyson, as a 60-year-old man, is benefiting based on what he did in the past. Do something so that you have a foundation to exist on, a financial foundation, a reputation foundation. Greatest to ever do it. He's the GOAT. I look up to him. I'm inspired by him. Now, he said he's the GOAT. Is he talking about Mike today or Mike 30 years ago? or 20 i'm sorry 30 years ago mike yeah actually that's crazy actually yeah 30 years ago and we wouldn't be here today without him this man is an icon and it's just an honor to be able to fight him and he's obviously the toughest baddest man on the planet so it was it was really tough like like i expected now we saw mike could barely walk before the fight even took place when mike was walking to get to the the back area where he's going to warm up the man could barely walk he was moving like a senior citizen so is he the toughest baddest man today is either goat today no we're talking about yesteryear yester decades give it to me i want to go back and forth there so mike and that's why i want you guys all to know that you do not have time you don't you need to get after it today you need to have urgency today if you can respond to that as well congratulations on a very strong performance are you happy that was an actual lie and this ball is clearly paid to say that so i can't hate on the the ball head big nose kid for saying that was an excellent performance. You got to remember the announcers, the judge, they're on somebody's payroll. They're on somebody's payroll. They're not there as an objective party to keep it real. So understand this. Unless you're watching the Saint and the Sinner on YouTube, nobody's keeping it real. Somebody's on a payroll. Somebody's catching a check. Nobody's keeping it real, okay? So let that go out the window. With what you did out there tonight. Absolutely happy, yes. Are you surprised? Now, when Mike said he's happy, he's happy because he put on a good performance, or is he happy because he survived? He's happy he didn't get knocked out and have his reputation ruined and get embarrassed and probably get hurt in a way that would be more permanent given his age. And most importantly, the biggest piece is that ball didn't got a bag. 20 million, 20 M's. How much did he make? I don't know. And frankly, I don't care because it ain't going in my bank account, but I know he made a lot of money, and it's a beautiful thing. Shout out to Mike. You dig? The distance. No, I knew he was a good fighter. I knew he was prepared. I came to fight. Now, here's the thing. When Mike says, I know he was a good fighter, Mike doesn't actually mean that from a boxing standpoint. I know he doesn't mean that because Mike understands boxing. Even though you might listen to his tonation and not think he's the brightest star in the sky or the sharpest knife in the drawer, Mike is a student of boxing. That's how he became that good. He studied all of the greats, and he fought many of the greats. He knows what boxing is at its pinnacle. So when he says he's a great fighter, he's being cordial to his business partner. And I understand and respect that. And you know what? I would have done the exact same thing because I'm an honorable man and I do not disrespect people I get money with. Point blank, period. I'll never do it. That's not how I'm built. And I'm not going to do business with people who are. Skittle guzzlers or who touch kids. I'm not gonna do business with them So that's why you hear me speak ill of those kind of characters because those are deviants and those are devils in our society But anyways, Mike bro don't think he's a good fighter. He doesn't think Jake Paul's a good fighter You know 58 a lot of people thought you shouldn't be here A lot of people thought you'd be done and dusted in the first round Do you feel like you proved the world wrong that you could at least go eight rounds with a younger man? i didn't prove nothing to anybody that's correct now you damn sure didn't prove anything because a professional prize fight has three minute rounds and you had two minute rounds that's ridiculous you had eight total rounds and a professional prize fight even when you go farther back in history go up to 15 rounds look at what ali was fighting and then when you look at the gloves these balls have 14 ounce gloves a professional prize fight should not have gloves nowhere near that out that ounce so This is not a professional. It's a mockery. And you know how we knew? And this is why I'm so disappointed in myself, because all the real money, all the big money did not show up for this. And I know because I'm always at the best fights. Check my background. Whether you're talking about all the Deontay Wilder fights, you're talking about the Tyson Fury fights. You're talking about the Canelo fights. Whoever matters in boxing, I was there at their fight. You're talking about Devin Haney. You're talking about Tank Davis, Ryan Garcia, anyone who mattered or had a big fight, I was at their fight every time. And I'm either on the floor seats or I'm like one, two or three rows up from that, which are actually the best seats. The seat right up from the floor, that's the best seat in terms of viewing. But the point is this. When you looked at who was on the floor, and mind you, when I've been at the floor seats in Vegas, whether it's Canelo or Triple G, who's there? You got Dan Bilzerian was right there. 2 Chainz was right there. Dave Chappelle right there. You know, so-and-so there. Like, everybody is there, and everyone's dressed to the nines. In this case, you basically saw no celebrities that I recognize, which means that they're not real celebrities. They're fake celebrities. It was Z-list celebrities. The only person I recognized was Shaquille O'Neal, and I don't know what kind of bag they paid him to be there, or maybe he's friends with the Jake brothers. He wants to do some business. Shaq is very active in doing business and keeping his name relevant in the- way that Snoop Dogg is. You know, Shaq is beyond basketball. Snoop is beyond rapping. So that could have been his play to eventually do some social media type business or reach a new, younger audience with the Paul brothers. But there were no celebrities there. And what should that have taught all of us who are business people? Where's the big money? Where's the big names? They're gone. We should do what they do. Follow the big money. Follow the big brains. Follow the leaders. Emulate. Don't follow them. I should say emulate the leaders. And they were not there. Why? Because they knew it was a fraud. And we all got defrauded. I'm not one of those guys that look to please the world. I'm just happy with what I can do. He said, I'm just happy with what I can do. What he really means is, look, I'm like 60-something years old. I just made $20 million. What you want from me, bruh? And I'm still standing. Shit, it was a good day. It was a good day. Can I ask about the knee brace? Were you dealing with an injury going into it? Everything in everything's injured. I'm 60 years old Brody everything injured man. I use I use Viagra man Remember back in a day. I caught a case for our a PE man that thing get up strong strong like a rock Why la strong like walk while I what going on me pounded it boom boom no problem real rude boy But so bros on Viagra at this age. What you mean are you injured? No? He's not injured. He's old come on, bro What you thinking? Boy over there with the knee brace on like he's Patrick Ewing, like he's Dan Marino. Yeah, but I can't use that for an excuse because if I did, I wouldn't be in here. The broadcast team was debating what you were doing with your gloves. Was it a mouthpiece issue or were you just biting on your gloves? What was that? Could you tell us? I have a habit of biting my gloves when I fight, yes. Why do you do that? I have a biting fixation. I've heard about that. Yes, so has Evander Holyfield. Carry on. I want to know more. Stay right here, Mike, if you can. Jake, back to you. Did this man surprise you? Was he better than you thought he would be? He's exactly what I thought. Was he better than you thought he would be? Absolutely not. Absolutely not. My closing words to you all, I want you to remember this. Anytime something is going on, you should ask yourself, who's the master, who's the slave? What are the masters doing? Who's the producer? Who's the consumer? What are the producers doing? How can I emulate them? And one thing we should have picked up on is we knew it was a scam and a farce, the betting odds in Vegas. They had Jake Paul as the favorite. So they basically had a guy who His body is very unimpressive. He's not in great cardio shape. He's proven that time and time again. He's only fought old men. He's fought people who are non-boxers, basketball players, MMA guys. And he's even lost before to someone who was basically talentless and didn't even have very much skill. They still had him favored to beat Mike Tyson, and the odds were not even close. So the odds makers in Vegas knew what was going on. They, too, were a part of the fix. So... How we suffered is only due to our own foolishness being influenced by a weakness in our human nature, which must be countered. The weakness in your human nature must be countered. That's why we have the ism. Study daily. It helps you deal with the weakness in human nature. You know, yeah, it might be your nature to, you know, play softball abroad. We study the ism to keep your pee hands strong. You dig? It might be your nature as a female to. be combative. We study the ism to know how to communicate effectively and rationally. And we all suffer because of weakness in our human nature and our inability to execute on the ism because that was a folly on all of our part. And, you know, they basically beat us. They told us a story that we wanted to hear. We wanted to hear that Iron Mike was still a savage. We wanted to hear that. That's why I made it easy to lie to us. We wanted to hear that it was going to be a great fight because we want to see a good fight. And his marketing overcame us and he was successful in his business venture. And so I commend Mike and Jake Paul and we took that L. You heard me? And no more L's. You dig? I hate losing. I love winning. And I mean that in the true sense of the word love, not like you people use it casually. I really mean I love winning and I hate losing. I really mean it with full hatred. I despise it. I'm not down. Let us end this with our tradition, the creed of the assassin. Repeat after me with full conviction, knowing this is true of you. The Creed of the Assassin. I'm going to be who I truly am because I am remarkable and I'm going to strive every moment to show the greatest part of who I am. Until next time, peace to the saints.
