right so now we come to the um the Practical side of things then we've looked at the issues that people have we've looked at how to talk to them how to prepare them so I want to talk now then about our actual Deliverance meeting and so how do we prepare for that what do we do practicalities so first thing is we have to prepare ourselves when I say ourselves those of us who are ministering we have a Ministry team and um we need to ourselves be prepared so we are dealing with Spirits we're dealing with powers that are far more powerful than we are other than the fact that we have the power of Christ which is greater so we need ourselves to be spiritually prepared so that we can minister to people and there's a cautionary story in Acts chapter 19 veres 13 to 16 the seven sons of SIA you remember that story where they saw what Paul was doing casting out demons so they tried the same and said in the name of the Jesus that Paul preaches about we cast you out and the demon said Jesus I know Paul I've heard about but who you and uh overpowered them all seven of them and they ran naked down the road and I think goes on to say that everybody got to know about it and there was a so what that shows us then is that um we need to be spiritually prepared uh ourselves so even if we even as I mentioned earlier on there is no gift of Deliverance it's not one of the nine gifts uh we really need to be very wise in um who we allow to minister and um ourselves being spiritually prepared for this if we're spiritually prepared no no problems whatsoever we can uh deal with that um so the power we use is not our own as I mentioned but it's the the power of Jesus and um so we need to be able to move in that the power of Jesus so we need to prepare ourselves first of all so what we need to do we personally need to walk close with the Lord so if we're going to be ministering to people we need to be walking close to the Lord um we don't want to give the devil a foothold at all or um allow him to have any hold over us so we need to be prepared how do we do that well it's Common Sense things just straightforward things we need to have a lifestyle of prayer if we're going to be on a regular basis ministering into uh this area we need to have a lifestyle of prayer we need to be close to God so um Ephesians chapter 610 on Wards we're familiar with that passage I'm sure about um how we need to clothe ourselves with the Spiritual armor and how we need to be people of prayer spiritual soldiers need to be spiritually prepared so then we take our stand against the powers of Darkness Paul says and um to pray in the spirit on all kinds of occasions with all kinds of prayers so we need to be uh people of prayer and likewise we need to be people who have a lifestyle of fasting if we're going to minister in this area on a regular basis we should have a lifestyle of fasting there's something about fasting that um AIDS spiritual things it's it's also true in the occult isn't it that uh those who deal with the occult they will Fast for occultic Powers as well there's something spiritual about fasting um that the devil tries to copy as well so we need to be people who have a lifestyle of prayer and fasting um there's different ways of fasting of course different ways of having a lifestyle in prayer and fasting personally uh I've been a Christian now for over 40 years and right from the beginning of my Christian Life I always I mean God impressed upon me even before I came to the ministry I didn't know why but God impressed upon me to have a lifestyle of prayer fasting and reading God's word and so I've always set aside one day every week so one day every week is is a day of fasting um should be coupled with prayer as well and um there are different ways some people would have a fast for season um and then not and then fast for another season different ways of doing it but the important thing is that we have a lifestyle of prayer and fasting so that we are all always ready and prepared so um I don't espcially prepare for D meeting just take it my stride as part parcel of the normal things that we do all the time so if we're living that sort of Lifestyle then um we don't neede special preparation we we can just uh whatever comes our way we can deal with it straight away because we're always in that spiritual place of being prepared uh fasting needs to go together with prayer as well so um prayer and fasting coupled together and um you know the Bible shows us talks to us about fasting different ways of fasting or different reasons for fasting one is that when we do that we're seeking after God we're just setting aside period of time where we're saying God I am seeking holy after you so I won't even eat um but I'll just spend time seeking after you other reasons that the Bible gives for fasting the the reason why it is a useful spiritual Aid um it hum we humble our soul the psalmist said I humbled my soul with fasting and so we have no power of ourselves we we have no personal Authority we're using the authority of Jesus and so if we humble ourselves before before God the Bible says he will raise us up so if we if we do that then we can be uh very effective in this ministry so we humble our soul through fasting um another reason scriptures there in the notes to be Heard On High God will listen to avert disaster for Revelation and preparation for Ministry so Jesus found it so important that he spent 40 days in he um in prayer and fasting before he went into Ministry so that in itself shows to us the importance of um that spiritual exercise so um ourselves being prepared at all times different ways of fasting how can we do that on just on a practical note uh three different ways that the Bible shows us that we can fast and uh one is the normal fast which is where we abstain from food but not from drinking so that's the normal fast that seems to be the way that Jesus fasted on those 40 days and 40 nights because at the end of the time the emphasis was on his hunger not on his thirst wasn't it so that's the normal way so missing food U but not missing drink there's the absolute fast which is mentioned very rarely in the Bible just on occasions and um where there's neither eating nor drinking but that is always for very short time three days maximum seems to be the case in the the Bible unless it was Moses in the very presence of God where obviously that was Supernatural not not natural so we can have short seasons of fasting like that and you know there may be times if we're dealing with very difficult situations you you remember Jesus said this kind doesn't come out except by prayer and fasting and I've mentioned before that Spirits have different strengths some are very easy to cast out um others are very powerful and they they will put up a strong resistance so there may be times when um you know when a season of fasting that way is helpful and we we would often say to the person who comes for deliverance if you can fast as well as well as pray that would be a very good thing as well to prepare yourself for a time of diligence it's not essential but it's just a very helpful exercise um so the absolute fast which is um just for a short time and then the partial fast can be helpful if we if we're busy people and um you know it's depending on our jobs or whatever or our shedules if if it's difficult to fast uh in the normal way or absolute fast then partial fast can also be helpful um Daniel practiced this Daniel chapter 10 do you remember uh he was the Prime Minister of the greatest Empire of the time and he must have been very very busy uh but he wanted to seek God he wanted to fast before God and uh so he fasted by um abstaining from um Choice food he said wasn't it so basically a a diet of bread and water I would guess something like that I think that John Wesley did that didn't they when John Wesley the great revivalist in this country when he fasted I think that's how he would often do it so um you know for those where it's impractical to fast for whatever reason in the normal way that's another biblical way that um we can do obviously A Private Matter generally speaking it's something we do before God not before um people although there are times of public fasting so just saying then that we need to be spiritually prepared prayer and fasting as a lifestyle so that we're always spiritually strong um right so next thing is preparing the team we we have a team of people um apart from the first days that I mentioned when I was explaining how we got started it was just my wife and myself we've always had a team of people to minister Deliverance so and we do it as a team as well so as I've been explaining um the individual people are prepared before they come to the differ meeting so that we've we've tried to go through all the areas that may be a hindrance to them we've tried to identify that it it's Deliverance that they actually need and then to go through all the areas that would hinder them from being set free so that when they actually come here and we actually have the meetings right here at the front of the auditorium um they should be ready so that the moment we minister to them they can be set free so there's no it's not a counseling session when they come here um it's just Ministry nothing else and so we prepare a team a Ministry team for that and um we do that by we don't stand up on a Sunday and say would anybody like to join our ministry team come and see me afterwards don't do that uh what we do is we individually approach people that we know would be mature and able to do that um so they need to be people say who have a who can have a lifestyle of prayer and fasting um if people are not mature enough when they start getting into this ministry they themselves can find can be under attack so we don't want that to happen um so there need to be people who are wise who are spiritually mature and who can be you know just live that lifestyle that spiritual lifestyle that is required um so we have our meetings on a Saturday here when there's nothing else happening in the auditorium here so that the only people who are here are just the ministry team and the people being ministered to so nobody else at all um so we have a mixture of men and women women in our ministry team and uh so we prepare them prior if we're asking somebody to come and join the team um explain these things need need to be people of prayer and fasting um and the we let them uh listen to all the teaching verse we've got it on CDs but um that we've done in the past but the best way to learn is to do it I found um that um um once you start it's not it's not difficult there's nothing difficult about setting people free all you need is understanding confidence to know what you're doing and when you do that it's um it's not a problem so on the job training is the best way so I like to get people in and uh so they work with minister with us and then set them let let them free um to start ministering as well in this church we often get um or we have in the past had students from our national Bible College they come down for replacement they may come for a month sometimes they come for two months uh 3 months and the purpose is for them to get practical Ministry and um so we put them in all the various areas of ministry and one of them they'll always come to is the Deliverance Ministry and I've watched these students um very quickly they get straight into it you know I remember we had a a very small woman she's not that big um wasn't English I won't say where she was from but um she came she was minute and she she joined it she was with us on a placement and we explained these things and we we allow allowed her to minister and I was watching her this little woman ministering to a great big man casting Spirits out she was going for it and the spirits were coming out and she was doing fine so um on the job training very helpful doing it that's how Jesus taught his disciples was it by doing um so that's good um when we go overseas um to to train people overseas what we generally do is we have the the teaching sessions like this and then we will organize an actual Deliverance meeting um and then what we do is we we minister to the people who've come for training because very often they'll need Deliverance first um and then we will set them free in the meeting we'll be there but we'll just supervise them and say but we've shown you what to do you go and do it and um they then do it and they realize you know they can do it um and so we've taught them as we're doing now we've shown them what to do we've released them to do it and um after that they're fine we've you know some countries we've been to they've actually pioneered churches now through Deliverance because some of the cultures um in other countries they they're very familiar with these with with the spirit world and uh and when they see the power of Jesus to set them free they've actually been starting churches through that Ministry so that's that's great um so what we then do uh we we start at 11:00 on a Saturday always from 11: onwards and our ministry team we meet together we have half an hour of prayer together before we start um so that's the team that we have and then we prepare the room so as I mentioned we do it actually do it here what we do we when we're ministering to people we get them to sit on chairs so not standing up to sit on chairs so we have a uh chairs lined up here we we usually get we would just from our own church alone we would normally have at least 15 people people up to about 40 people um so that's this kind of range of numbers just just from the church here so we we put out about 30 odd chairs here and um put them separately so we can stand around them and minister to them facing forward like this and um and the reason we use this room rather than a small room is because um if noise is made it doesn't matter uh we've got space um as I say we don't minister in homes so we do it as a team in a room that's big enough to to be able to do that um so it provides the seclusion that's needed um and the space sometimes people will fall off the chairs they may roll around the floor it's not a problem we've got uh the space for that to happen um so as I say we put the chairs out we put a space around them so that we can then minister to them we can come alongside them and minister to them uh individually now we always have a large quantity of washing up balls you know the ones that you have for washing up in the kitchen the um plastic ones and just going back to what I was saying earlier on about um being prepared uh the power of spirits I remember we have these washing up Bowls the heavy duty ones I've watched a young skinny boy when he was uh being a demonized boy take one of those balls and rip it in half I've watched him do it he ripped it in half one of those heavy duty balls that's where we need to be you know need to know what we're dealing with um yes so we use the the room the room here um yes washing out balls and many tissues as well reasons for that I I'll mention in a moment so uh we have the washing balls up here and all the tissues ready for when we when we need them and we always need them so we prepared ourselves we prepared the team we prepared the room the people themselves have been prepared we've already spoken to them so everyone has been individually counseled spoken to so the meeting itself as I mentioned we don't engage in talking much that's not necessary they just come to be um set free so what I do we wait till the people are in they're all sitting in a long row here or two rows rather sitting here so I'll just talk to them to begin with and what I do is I just talk to them just saying some very trivial things because sometimes people come in think what what's we have explained before what's going to happen but if they haven't been before you know people can have concerns they might be a bit concerned about what's going to happen so I just talked to them about anything everything just for briefly about the weather about anything else just so that um there's no Mystique there's no Aura of anything it's just a we just here together to to minister to you that just to set people um at ease in that way so um we do that then I'll just explain I I just every meeting even if people have coming for second or third time I explain this every meeting what's what we're going to do and I'll say that what we're going to do is um first of all we're going to lead you in a corporate prayer um and then uh we're going to start ministering to you don't take any notice of anybody else so whatever else is happening just ignore it don't take any notice you you've come here to be set free so you just concentrate on being set free as so don't take any notice of anybody else I'll say to them that we're all here for the same reason there's only the ministry team there's only those who come to be ministered to there's nobody else here we're all here for the same reason we just want to be set free so you just concentrate on allowing yourself to be set free and don't be distracted by anybody else um then I'll explain to them that we'll we'll minister to you and because there's always more people than there are in our team that we'll come and minister to you for a little while and then we'll move on to somebody else and then we'll come back to you and different team members can go to different people as well it makes it um when you do it as a team it's much easier especially if you've got a situation where somebody is um you know there's a spirit really resisting so if you one of you can go and Minister and then go on to somebody else and somebody else can come along and it makes the the work much much easier in that way um so I'll explain those things to them and um and then I'll say to them um I hope you're not in a hurry to go because we're here for a while so that uh just be patient as we come come and keep ministering to you um then I'll lead them in a corporate prayer and the so ask him to pray out loud together and uh it will go along these lines it would be something like this I'll say heavenly father I thank you that you love me I thank you that in Jesus all my sins are forgiven uh I ask you now to forgive me completely for every sin I've ever committed I forgive and release every person who's ever hurt me and I renounce I cut off our renounce every tie uh with the powers of Darkness down through both generational lines um and then I ask you Lord Jesus to set me free completely amen so we'll have that corporate prayer and what I'm doing then is I'm just going through those three areas that are the hindrances to prayer just to reiterate sin please forgive me unforgiveness I release everybody and I renounce any um contact with the occult so having done that then we then start to minister to people and as I said right at the begin this is done by command it's not done by prayer we don't pray for people um we speak to the demons can't see them but we speak to them so we say in the name of Jesus Christ Spirit I'll say something like this I'm not speaking to this woman I'm not speaking to this man but I'm speaking directly to you Spirit that's troubling her troubling him in the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out and then I'll often just uh break every generational tie over his or her life break every generational Spirit uh take authority over every Spirit In The Name of Jesus Christ um I come against you through the power of the name of Jesus I come against you through the power of the cross of Jesus through the power of the blood of Jesus um speaking directly to Demons taking authority over them boldly and commanding them to come out in the name of Jesus Christ um the spirits then have to leave they come out one by one Spirits do and what we don't do is we don't close our eyes never close your eyes remember we're not praying when it comes to you know Christians automatic close your eyes when you're ministering Don't Close Your Eyes good reason for that you don't know whether somebody's going to whack you or not so keep your eyes open um just to see what reaction is is going to happen so any kind of manifest manifestation may occur the majority of times people know exactly what's going on as I said on occasions people will go into a trance that's less common most times people will know exactly what's happening and um we will just be ministering to them and um so we begin to sometimes the spirits start coming out immediately which is great you know that's sometimes they want to hold on they don't want to come out straight away so we have to as I mentioned ear we need to start wrestling spiritually wrestling um and when dealing with spirits um I will often use scripture as well so for example if we know what kind of spirit we're dealing with often we don't um but if we know what kind of spirit we're dealing with if it's a spirit of death for example um you can use um scriptures like you know Jesus said I'm the resurrection of the life anything that's opposite to that Spirit uh we can use that John 10:10 I've come that they may have life um so death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire Revelation 2014 the scripture I often Ed generally when uh ministering to people if I feel that you know there's a resistance there to Spirits coming out is Luke 10:18 where Jesus said I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven I've given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy now that's a good General scripture that uh demonstrates that uh Satan is defeated um we've been given authority to trample on every spiritual snake and Scorpion so those kind of scriptures um sometimes the people will be aware of what what spirit is is in them sometimes they they become conscious of what the spirit is um and if they can tell us that's helpful um it isn't necessary to know the name of the spirit to cast it out if we know its name that's that's fine but uh it isn't it isn't essential you just command spirits in the name of Jesus Christ just start coming out and one by one they will start coming out other useful scriptures Philippians 2:10 another one that I often use in the Deliverance meeting when ministering to people at the name of Jesus every need he shall bow whether in heaven Angels whether on Earth people whether under the Earth demons and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the father so using scriptures can be very helpful if we know the kind of spirit it is and um scriptures that are opposite to to what it is now next one there's no need to shout no need to shout um Spirits don't respond to the volume of our voice um there's a tendency sometimes for people to get excited and start shouting it's just a bit of a distraction I'm talking about the ministry I'm not people who Minister uh we we don't do it here but uh it's possible then to get very excited and start shouting thinking that you know the more you shout the more the likely the demons to come out the Vol our volume has no relevance whatsoever what is important is the authority of the name of Jesus and you can just speak very quietly into a person's ear and command in the name of Jesus I command you to come out and Spirits have to come out it's the authority of Jesus not the volume of our voice that's important um so no need to shout at all and even when the people themelves start shouting we'll often try and close the shouting down you don't shout in the name of Jesus just come out quietly so uh as we're ministering to people then there can be various kinds of manifestations and we need to ensure that um people are being delivered are not simply showing manifestations so the manifestations are uh a number of things shaking people may start shaking doing jerky body movements that's quite common um I like often like to watch people's eyes because you can see um through people's eyes things that are happening because often demons look out through people's eyes and so their eyes will often glaze over um in somewhere they're looking out but there's a glaz glazing over sometimes their eyes will do all kinds of funny movements um and even you know when you start ministering to people if nothing is happening um often just by looking into their eyes you can see actually something is happening that the demons are reacting because you can see through the eyes people's eyes what are happening what's happening there um sometimes there's demonic talking um you know there is a demonic speaking in tongues Satan counter Feats every gift of the Spirit uh there is a hissing or shouting sometimes um facial contortions very often when Spirits start to be stirred up when you start to command to come out people's faces start to contort and again that's a very that's a good way of seeing that actually you're if there's nothing immediately happening there is something happening inside uh so from the face from the eyes you can often see that happening sometimes people will roll off the chair and uh Slither on the floor most times they don't most people will stay in their chairs uh but occasions that will happen and um so these are different kinds of manifestations they're not the actual Deliverance but they're the manifestations and um so we need to ensure that the people are actually set free now when people are being set free it's usually very obvious something happens that makes it clear that they're being set free and one of the most common is wretching this is why we have the the washing up balls um and the tissues because the most common or very common way when people are being set free they start wretching and and um and they'll bring up uh it's not vomit it's sputum of some sort um that comes from the stomach or somewhere but they will bring that up sometimes in quite large quantities so we give them the washing up Bowl they've got tissues and um I've already told them at the beginning don't worry about anything that takes place uh if you feel like wretching don't worry we're perfectly ready for that kind of thing um so wretching is very common occasionally I've seen blood being brought up but generally that's with people who involved in witchcraft when they've involved in witchcrafts something to do with blood they they bring that up but most commonly it um they'll bring up some kind of sputum so we have bowls and tissues already for that another very common way of being delivered is coughing so as people are coughing Spirits are coming out so they come out most commonly they come out through the mouth so people are coughing uh coughing and each time Spirits are coming out they're coughing and it's not something they they they control but it's something that a way that the spirits are ex exiting um another way that they come out is through very heavily exhaling through blowing like like that so Spirits can come out that way sometimes it's through yawning it's not that they're getting bored um it's that they're actually yawning and sometimes the yawns can be very powerful violent yawns you know but uh but they yawn very heavily uh burping is another way um sometimes shouting and screaming but we try to close that down sometimes you don't see anything but there is a a smell which is something you've never smelt in your life it's a it's a very unusual um smell um sometimes they fall on the ground rise on the ground but we need to make sure Spirits are actually coming out so most cases there will there will be some physical manifestation as the spirits are coming out occasionally you don't see anything happening now that doesn't mean to say that nothing is happening because there are occasions when people will come out without spirits will come out with without any obvious signs um but the person himself knows something is happen they know they feel a release but I we always like to check out if we don't see any obvious signs of deliverance we like to check it out to make sure that um something indeed has happened um and that they're not just um you know nothing's happening at all so these are very common ways then and uh in any Deliverance meeting any combination of these things will be happening at the same time very often so but what if there's no response you know you've been through the whole process of preparing somebody they come to the Deliverance meeting and but nothing seems to be happening well there's a number of things that we can think of first of all um and that is that um remember some Spirits they will hold out for as long as possible so they'll just hold on tight so there's no obvious manifestation happening no obvious Deliverance but it could be that um there's a spirit in there that that is holding on for as much as it can but as you keep persevering as I mentioned earlier on I learned right at the beginning that as we wrestle with Spirits we can wear them down this is one of the benefits of a team you know you can have one person ministering to somebody uh and then somebody else can come in afterwards so it could be first of all that um it's a stubborn spirit that you really just need to spend time and once you know you you've broken its will then it will start to come out so sometimes we need to to wrestle um there was one I remember one person who came here we knew she needed Deliverance she knew she needed Deliverance but every time she came nothing seemed to happen and um you know we we we couldn't understand why didn't know what the reason was and um anyway she came a number of occasions and then suddenly one day it just happened she was amazingly set free and uh you know very obviously and heavily demonized but set free now to this day I don't know the reason why it didn't happen before um but what I know is that there are times when we needs to persevere and she knew she had a problem and she wanted to be freeze that's why she kept coming back and uh eventually the tide just broke and she was set free um sometimes we need to to go back to the person and speak speak to them um remember we've already spoken to them about hindrances deliverance and uh how they need to have their lives in order um so sometimes we will say to them if they're not being set free and to be honest it happens very rarely these days but um on occasions we say to people have you genuinely done all the things we've prepared you for in this way so for example Psalm 6618 are you sure you've doubt with every sin in your life that there's no ongoing sin that you haven't dealt with um there has to be a genuine repentance you have to turn away from the old way of life and and not hang on to any sin so uh that's why as I mentioned earlier on if people are cohabiting we will tell them we will only minister to you when you've dealt with it not um not before um the other areas have you is there any occultic object in your possession that um you haven't dealt with think again you know in this day and age when we can travel to all kinds of countries people can buy all kinds of things you know in the market places in the various areas not always realizing that um it's not just a a pretty object um some of these things can come from occultic backgrounds that have actually been cursed so is there anything in your home ask God you know lead God will talk to you speak speak to God help tell him to show you if there's anything um has there been a complete confession of sin before God honestly be before God has there been true forgiveness so just going back over those areas that are biblical hindrances making sure that they've genuinely covered those most times we we we see people set free so um because we've going right back to the beginning when we started I said we leared a lot as we gone along we made a lot of mistakes wasted a lot of time and so by doing all the things that I've been explaining today when it actually comes to the Deliverance meeting most times we'll see people set free it's it's very rarely that uh we will not because we prepared them in that way covered our basis right up to this time right and so we will minister to them and um we'll spend at least two hours doing that and then I have already said to people don't forget um Deliverance is often a process so I would invite you I would encourage you to come back to our next Deliverance meeting until you know for sure you're completely set free and you'll know that because either nothing is happening anymore or uh you and yourself know that the the problem is is dealt with um so uh and then we like to follow them up uh afterwards um actually we have forms we give them to fill in as well to uh let us know how they're doing um so that um we want to know how helpful was the Deliverance did you find you were being set free what difference has it made in your life uh is there any areas still that you need dealing with just so we can get a general feedback and and um on that one so we keep in touch with them on that um so asking them you know general questions how you feeling now uh you feel free how beneficial was it and so on do you need to return again just before they leave having finished ministering to them we always pray over them and we just pray Lord just fill every space you know if there's been any wherever Spirits have gone just fill every space in their body uh every part of their being so we just pray a prayer of blessing over them and um and let them go there so that's the Practical side of things here in the actual minist Ministry itself now what I want to do is just um I'm going to run through some frequently frequently asked questions and then um if anybody has questions of your own then if anything we haven't covered then the opportunity to be there so I have to do that so some frequently asked questions and the first one is this should we lay hands on people people when we're ministering to them I think one of the concerns that people have when they ask this question is is it likely to come into me you know is it going to be a transfer of spirits um well it's not necessary to lay hands on people but I do find it can be very helpful there's something about you know the ministry of laying on of hands that the Lord Has Done Works through our hands and I often find that when I put a hand on somebody's head there is a manifestation you know there's a reaction to the spirit um so it isn't necessary but it it can be very helpful and we have to be very careful of course uh who we're ministering to uh men and women have to be very um wise in how we do that but usually people don't mind hands on their head um being ministered to in that way sometimes um if I'm ministering to a woman um and I've and the um the spirit is in her stomach I'll say to her you put your hand on your stomach um and then I'll minister to you in that way um but I think people are are concerned about the transference of spirits um we don't have to worry about that if we're born again Believers we are walking close with God we we're here to cast Spirits out we don't have to be afraid of them we're not afraid of the devil the devil's afraid of us um so there's no concern there and what i notic is that there are times when Jesus laid hands on demonized people Luke chapter 4 for example um verses 40 to 41 Jesus is ministering to people uh he was laying hands on on them as well so uh it isn't necessary because it's the authority of Jesus but sometimes I just fine there's a reaction when I do that and um he can help um second question is it necessary to ask a spirit its name well it isn't necessary um I I told you right at the beginning uh God gave me a uh introduced me to the to the ministry where every Spirit told me its name it's never happened since that was just uh God helping me to to understand things if we know what kind of spirit is then Spirit of death come out Spirit of uh lust come out or whatever if we know that then we can do that sometimes the person themselves will we we'll know in their mind I know what Spirit it is and then we can use the name of the spirit um if we don't know we don't have to keep asking every Spirit what's your name we just say Spirit come out that's all in the name of Jesus um and also it's not a wise thing to to engage in a conversation with Spirits um you know we got to be careful that we don't uh cross a line you know our curiosity gets the better of us we want to know things no we we're there just to cast them out um and in anyway Spirits May lie they may not lie they might tell us the truth they may lie who knows but um so it isn't essential to know that if we know it all well and good if we don't don't worry press on um third question can spirits cast out be trans transfer to someone else in the group present well we only the only people here are people who are the ministry team and who are being set free um no Spirit want to hang around here when we're ministering you know um they won't want to enter the ministry team because we're already those who are being set free the spirits are going out um I can't see any fear at all the people who' have come we've prepared them for deliverance so they're not people who are um you know living they're not people who are in the wrong spiritual States they're desperate yes but we prepared them for this time so there's no fear whatsoever so uh not to to worry about that um we just say to people that uh once you're set free stay close to God so that you remain free um fourth question is self-d Deliverance possible now the answer to this is yes if we're born again Believers we have the authority of Jesus within us um and we can actually minister to ourselves and set ourselves free if we're mature enough to do it now most people when they come for deliverance they're not in a position to do that so um but remember Deliverance is not a gift um it's the authority of Jesus that we use and um and there are occasions when we've had people come to us maybe they've come from a long distance and so we've ministered to them for a period of time we've seen them set free and if we know that they're mature enough we can say to them look you've seen what we've done now when you go home you minister to yourself you get a washing up Bowl you get some tissues and you say uh spirit I command you in the name of Jesus come out of me and and we can deliver ourselves and Spirits can come out they can start coughing start wretching um so it is perfectly possible it's just that um most people find it very helpful for someone else to minister to them um and especially I say we we don't need so uh tell someone to do that first of all who was spiritually mature and secondly who wasn't able to get to our meetings because they're far away but yes it is deliver it is perfectly possible to deliver ourselves um fifth question how do you deal with demonized children now we have to be very careful particularly in our culture here um so we have to be very wise and um the occasions that we've ministered to Children is when the parents have brought their children to us um and they have said to us we know this is a problem um and the children themselves are old enough to to understand uh some some children are wise beyond their years it's and some some are not sometimes what we've done is just to to minister in the form of a prayer see what we got be very careful is not to frighten children so um they they come because of parents have brought them so we can minister in the form of a prayer um which the children would would hear as a prayer but actually um we're choosing our words carefully just to um see them set free so we have to be very careful when it comes comes to Children um and we'd never Minister any child unless the parents brought brought the children to us um sixth question when Jesus commanded demons to come out they did so at once why is it necessary to minister for a long time or on more than one occasion now I've been asked that question a number of times you read the Bible Jesus said to the spirits come out and they came out so how come you're telling me speaking to me how come you're telling me that there are time you you have to spend a long time or or more times Well my simple answer to that is this I'm Not Jesus all right um that's a simple answer um but I even noticed that um that story of uh Jesus and the demoniac of the gines Luke chapter 8 verse 26 onwards in Mark chapter 5 if you read the text very carefully you'll notice that the demon didn't come out immediately um Jesus had commanded the spirit to come out and then the spirit started to enter into conversation with Jesus so if you read the text carefully the spirit didn't come did not come out immediately uh he came out after uh a time um but also I mentioned that um usually that there's a whole gang of spirits they come out one by one and um so you need to spend time to to to cast them all out in that way seventh question people ask is this is it possible to minister Deliverance at a distance sometimes people come to me and say I've got somebody uh who's demonized you know a relative or such like and they they live a long way away can you help them well my faith doesn't extend that far uh your faith May um to be able to cast demons out of people I don't know and can't see um what I what we have discovered is that um we can do it over the telephone um so sometimes people have been a long way away on the telephone so we've said to them put the telephone to the ear or before you do that go and get a bowl go and get a tissues put your put the telephone to the ear and then over the telephone will'll start minister in the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out and the other end of the telephone line however hundreds of miles away they're being set free so that contact I can do it at a distance in that way I've managed to do it in that way um because the spirits can actually hear you commanding them to come out um the other thing that we've used on occasions on a number of occasions actually is prayer cloths you know in um acts is it acts uh 1811 I think it is where Paul was in Ephesus or was it 1911 Paul was in Ephesus and the Bible says that God did un extraordinary Miracles so that even uh handkerchiefs cloths that uh Paul prayed over well when they laid on their sick uh people were healed and people were set free now there are times when people have come to us and said look we can't bring the person to the meeting they may not even be um a Believer but they've but we've given them a prayer cloth for example there's somebody who who who who had a relative who was troubled in the night not a the person wasn't a Christian uh the person who came to us was but the person wasn't every night this person relative troubled by Spirits you know can't sleep you know just uh constantly Disturbed so we gave him a prayer cloth a prayer cloth is just a piece of cloth we anoint it with all we pray over it in the name of Jesus and say um in the name of Jesus you know whatever this whoever this cloth touches whether it's for healing or whether it's through DS we we we uh Holy Spirit we ask you to minister through this prayer cloth now the prayer cloth is nothing but it's a point of faith of contact isn't it um and there are a number of times when we've said to people just put it under the person's pillow and they've reported back to us do you know when we put it under the pillow they've had a peaceful night's sleep not saying they're delivered but uh those Spirits have been set have been uh quietened and um so that's at a distance as well uh if you have the faith to believe and are able to minister over a long distance without seeing the person God bless you um the eighth question that uh frequently asked questions is this how can I tell the difference between the Holy Spirit affecting a person and an evil spirit operating now the reason that people ask this question is because when people come out for Ministry um people can fall on the floor you know they can shake um and it's not an evil spirit it's the holy spirit because the Holy Spirit can do all kinds of things isn't it um you know people can fall down under the power of the Holy Spirit um and sometimes you know they can shake in that way so people who are demonized can do that and people who are under the power of the Holy Spirit can sometimes do that remember Satan always tries to counterfeit anyway so how do you know if somebody say it's the ministry time and somebody's falling on the floor and they they're doing funny movements um how do you know whether it's a spirit or the Holy Spirit Well what I say to them is this when it was happening did you feel good or did you feel bad um and if they said well I felt really good about it I I would say well that I'm pretty sure that's the Holy Spirit then because an evil spirit would make you feel good and if they felt bad that wouldn't be the holy spirit so um that's what I say in those occasions um ninth question are future children free from generational curses once the parents have been delivered now I was talking about generational curses and I said that it's very common for spirits to pass from one generation to another and um and that will continue until the parents are delivered now supposing the parents are delivered soing they have children and then the parents come forward and the parents receive Deliverance now the parents are free but the generational Spirits have already gone to the children so the children then need to be set free but supposing the parents are delivered before they have children children then that's broken the spirits will not be passed down to the Next Generation so uh very important to understand and to uh help people with generational spirits and curses then the last common question where did demons come from well actually you know the Bible doesn't give an exact answer to this there are a number of there are three ideas that people have um one is that they are Fallen Angels so Jesus said I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven and when I'm explaining to people I I think this is the easiest way to explain to people um that um that's who they are um the problem is biblically speaking is that um demons crave to enter a body human body I was saying earlier on that um the human body has a natural protection it seems unless somebody opens a doorway to let them in well uh Angelic beings they don't have physical bodies but they have a spirit body so um you know why they would want to enter crave to enter a human body if they have one of their own even though it's a spirit body um that's one of the negative things about possibly their fallen angels then secondly there's this very um strange verse in Genesis chapter 6:2 which talks about the sons of God uh intermarrying with with the daughters of men wasn't it and their offspring um produced uh Giants well this supposes then that um there was a time that uh angels and actually I think there's a Jewish uh tradition that uh God assigned 200 angels to come and look after the early human beings and they those angels fell and intermarried with with women and so then it would suggest that there was an intermarriage between fallen angels and human beings uh and The Offspring of them was were these uh demonic beings you know half human half uh half Angelic um that would give a good reason why they might crave to enter a human body because they're they need a body themselves that may be true um the only difficulty with that is uh when Jesus was talking about he was answering a different question but he was answering question on marriage um a woman had a number of husbands whose wife would she be in the Eternal State and Jesus was counteracting that but in in the process he said that um in in the Eternal State we will be like the angels now again he doesn't expand upon it uh angels Don't marry there's no if you read the Bible there's no reference to a a female angel they always appear like young men um and they don't marry and Jesus said that they don't marry so you know are angels angels appear to be asexual that is they're they're neuter they look like young men but they don't angels Don't reproduce you know God created a fixed number of angels so there is a uh a slight difficulty with that idea and then the the third idea is that they are disembodied spirits of a pre-adamic Race So before Adam there was a race of people that lived and died and they're the spirits of those I think that's completely biblically biblically untenable because um that would suppose Death Before Adam and that you know wouldn't be so so um people have their own ideas I usually explain it by saying that they Fallen Angels it may be that Genesis 62 does indeed refer to that intermarriage between the two um there are a number of things in the scripture we'd love to know the answers to is um but not particular but we don't know but whatever it is um the reality is they're there they're there we know they're there the Bible speaks a great deal about them and the things that we've been covering today so um we just need to deal with them some questions we will have answered when we see the Lord um that would be an interesting one to know so those are questions that people often ask and then just at the end of your manuals there then we've got um what is marked up as the Deliverance Ministry leaflet this is a as I mentioned this is A4 copy of the the smaller leaflets that we keep the A5 size in the church if you want to take one of these on the way home if you're not from our church here and you'd like to by all means do so and it these are freely available in our church anybody can pick them up at any time and if they read through it and say actually I want to talk to somebody about this then they'll come and talk to us and um we always give them to those who come to talk to us anyway to take home because there's a lot of useful um references there that
