all right let me just get straight into it can you earn money on selling notion templates if you only have 17 followers on Instagram or Twitter it doesn't even matter 17 followers even less the answer is yes you can you definitely can but of course it makes it easier if you have an audience but it's still possible so if you want to sell notion templates if you really like creating notion templates but you freaking hate showing up online and you don't really want to spend any time creating social media content you can still earn money on Ocean templates it would be passive income like true passive income let me tell you how you can do this and maybe you're like but Theresa how do you know why would you know how to earn money without having an audience when you do have an audience oh well I didn't always have an audience but let me just be real I didn't get a lot of sales when I didn't have an audience so for me my sales grew with my audience but I know for sure that that's not necessary for everyone this is just my story and I know for a fact that you can still earn good money without having followers and how do I know that well I actually started this whole notion thing with a university friend of mine you probably know him because I like to promote his stuff because he is amazing his name is makisu design and he earns money probably every day doing absolutely nothing like I hate that guy because there are months where he earns just as much as I do or even more without lifting a finger I hate him no just kidding I don't hate him he's actually really really great you should follow him but yeah so this guy has no social media account except from the one I created with the only posts that are on his Instagram are the ones that I created and just collaborated with him he doesn't even have to log in to his Instagram doesn't have Twitter doesn't have Facebook he's just basically like this mysterious being who doesn't have social media so what does this makiso guy do to get sales even if he doesn't have any social media presence or audience I'll tell you the first thing he does is to make sure that his free content meaning his free notion templates the free resources are better than other people's paid content yeah so this means that marquiso actually creates things creates products templates for free that are better than anyone else's template honestly this guy have you have you downloaded his task manager or any of the other okay I helped with this task manager but like have you seen all of the other templates that he created they are like better than most of the paid templates that I see so that's one thing if you want to start earning money on notion template but you don't have any followers because you hate social media then make sure that the free content you have on your shop make sure it's better than the paid content out there people will love you they will download your stuff and they will trust you and they'll be like I want to buy from this guy like people want to buy from a keto because they're like whoa this guy's a genius and he's giving out all of this for free I can't even imagine if this is for free like what's what's the page content I need that I need that I don't even know what it is I just need it so basically that's the first thing the other aspect of this is that okay you might not have social media you might not care about taking pictures every day and posting stories so if you focus on creating free content you will connect people's emails so every time someone downloads your free templates because it's so freaking good you get the email address and that way you can grow your mail list so the second tip is to focus on growing your mailings then all right don't you don't need to have social media you don't need to do whatever I am doing on Instagram but you just need to offer a lot of high quality free templates free notion resources to build your mailing list and then you can maybe do if you want it depends on how much effort if we talk about low effort then you can have like one good email you probably need to test I have one good email I send out on bad days when my boyfriend and I broke up I sent out this one email because it was so sad and then I got some sales that's basically how I deal with my emotions these days so yeah so if you have a mailing list and if you really want to put like the least effort into it you can just try to create one good email or two and just send them out automatically that would be less effort than what I'm doing I'm just setting it up as like I coping mechanism I would not recommend that anyways do that and then you can get sales right because one thing is they trust you and they know your is amazing so that's why I don't want to buy your products and when you advertise for it they're just like yeah I wanted and if you don't know how to write emails I'm not telling you to use chat TPT but it's like a good place to start if you have no clue and then you can always improve it there's a lot of nice email marketing templates out there of course it's always better if you spend like 100 hours on writing a good email yourself but if you definitely don't want to spend time on it you can do that and then we have the Third tip which is I think you already know this um to upload your template on every single Marketplace area so there is a lot of notion Market places but also just marketplaces for digital products spread your stuff out there any place everywhere I actually think this is the most boring thing about being a notion Creator it is to freaking have to copy paste your sales copy and all the pictures and all of that to various of platforms it's the most boring task in the world which is also why this is also why I haven't done it like in every Marketplace yet and it's it's stupid I know I I need to do it anyways I have a audience so okay it doesn't really compensate for me not doing it because I'm lazy but anyways that's what makiso does and that's what you should do too so the fifth tip I have if you want to earn money on templates without having social media account is to spend extra extra amount of time perfecting your product listing and this means the pictures the this means the sales copy and no if you don't want to work hard on social media you cannot just add a random white background the notion logo and then a screenshot of your template which is what I tend to do sometimes because I'm freaking lazy you cannot just do that and then just expect that the sales are gonna come in because if you're not gonna do the social media work you have to make it look freaking professional like you need to put Shadows okay you don't need to put Shadows but you have you okay I'll just give you an example so look at this this is mine right like I did this in three minutes the quality is horrible and I'm still getting sales because I post about it and people trust me through my social media account and then we have um my kiso stuff which is completely different right like if this looks this looks professional like he added Shadows I don't even know how many hours he spent on creating this you see like you can only do this because you have an audience if you don't have an audience this is basically what you would need to do and I'm not saying that you cannot start selling templates before everything is perfect that's not what I'm saying because I'm not a perfectionist and I always tell people that they need to put a stuff out there in all its flaws and Imperfections because I truly think so and honestly makizo he also improved everything like bit by bit right it's not like damn it's just perfect lastly what I would do if I didn't have any audience I would reach out to the people who do and ask them to be my affiliate but there's a big part because I do receive a lot I receive a lot of these offers from people who have six followers and they're new and they want me to feature the template or put it on my website or post about it and they just sent me like this black and white simple ass template and expect me to feature it and I'm like you know what I bet this is good and I could try to sell it but it wouldn't sell like because that's not what I'm about that's not that's not what my page is a person about nothing wrong with simplistic minimalistic templates but that's not me so I could become your affiliate but you're not gonna earn any money from me so so the most important thing with this is to find creators that has like the same value the same style as as you have for your products right and then send a really nice message don't send them that like generic yeah it's just that so do your research and be respectful be nice be polite and make it a bit personal you know you can even ask chat TPT to do this for you but anyways reach out to people who are creating similar templates similar stuff and just ask them if they want to be affiliate I think that's all like that's all the tips I have for you which will help you still make sales even if you don't have a big following based on the study I did myself on this
