what's up guys today we're going to teach you how to do a counter steered doughnut which is the first step into actually [Music] drifting so for a donut what you're going to do is you're going to drive into the turn and rev the car to about 4,000 RPM and let the clutch out rapidly so pretty quickly this will break the rear tires loose pretty easily at that point you want be steering the direction you want to do a donut so you'll basically drive into the turn at a good like 5 6 mph Revit 4,000 RPM dump the clutch and that we'll get you started okay so basically what we did was we just initiated the donut all right once you've gotten it started and the car will actually spin around you're going to do the same thing but when the car starts to Pivot while it's actually rotating you're going to steer the wheel to the right at about the same speed as the car is rotating so you want to throw the wheel pretty quickly and then snap it in 4,000 RPM snap the wheel and now you're actually doing a donut and what we're doing while we're doing the donut is I'm pedaling the gas to keep it into the Power Band about over 4,000 RPM and I'm just using the steering to kind of keep me centered not a lot of steering input and when you do it you want to do it pretty slowly so as we're doing this we're pedaling it more throttle is going to push me out wider less throttle is going to pull me in nice and close to these track trash cans here see less throttle and then more we start going wider so all we're doing here is just adjusting where we're at and then you'll finally fine-tune it so that you can stay right on the cones and get super close to where you need to be and we'll even just nudge this red one right here all right so the Bare Essentials for a drift car for me is going to be a handbrake a good working clutch and a welded diff the rest of it can pretty much be open as long as it's rear wheel drive has enough power to do a standstill burnout and even then if it doesn't you can still get away with some drifting and the working handbrake really just allows you to have fun toss the car where it needs to and be able to link a complicated track if you just want to do a couple turns here or there the E bra may not be necessary because you can use clutch kick but you need a welded diff because the open diff is just too inconsistent so now you guys know how to do a counter steer donut go to the track Street wherever have some fun and uh like comment and share if you have any questions hit us up [Music]
