How to Hit a Golf Ball with an Iron

Introduction to Golf

  • Golf is an outdoor sport on a 9 or 18-hole course with various traps and landscapes.
  • Key areas of a hole:
    • Tee Box: Only place where a tee can be used.
    • Fairway: Path between the tee box and the green, short grass for smoother swings.
    • Rough: Area outside fairway, taller grass penalizes the golfer.
    • Putting Green: Target area with a hole for putting.
    • Hazard: Traps like ponds or bunkers to emphasize accuracy.
  • Emphasizes accuracy over power.

Types of Clubs

  • Driver: Hits up to 400 yards, used only in tee box.
  • Woods: Hits up to 300 yards, used with or without a tee.
  • Irons: Hits between 100 and 200 yards.
  • Wedges: Used for shots below 100 yards.
  • Putter: Used on putting green.
