  4. New Revelations: Leaders claim exclusive new interpretations/Revelations.

  7. Brainwashing: Coercive indoctrination leading to irrational loyalty.
  8. Exploitation: Economic, sexual, or other forms of member exploitation.

Warning Signs of Unsafe Groups

  2. No Tolerance for Questions: Discourages critical inquiry.
  3. Financial Secrecy: No transparent financial disclosure.
  4. Fear Indoctrination: Cultivates fear of the outside world.
  5. No Legitimate Exit: Leaving is seen as negative/evil.
  6. Pattern of Abuse: Similar stories of abuse among former members.
  7. Documentation of Abuses: Records/news articles pointing to abuses.
  8. Insufficient: Followers feel they can never be good enough.
  9. Infallible Leader: Leader's word is never wrong.
  10. Exclusive Knowledge: Leader/group claims exclusive understanding of truth.
