Steps to Protect Your Account

• Ensure the URL begins with https://idpz.utorauth.utoronto.ca/.
• On public computers, close all windows and exit the browser when done.
• Keep your password confidential; U of T will never request it via email.

Login Problems

• If you know your password, verify it at the UTORid Password Verification Page.
• Passwords are stored using one-way encryption; they cannot be retrieved, only verified.
• Forgotten passwords require a reset procedure.
• Password requirements are being strengthened; change weak/old passwords to meet new criteria.
• JOINid holders should reset their password if experiencing "Authentication Failed" errors.

Forgotten Password

• Visit the UTORid Password Verification Page to check a known password.
• A password reset is required if forgotten as passwords cannot be decrypted.

How to Log Out

• Exit your browser to clear session cookies and log out from weblogin.
• Note: Some browsers, like Chrome, may retain cookies across sessions, potentially maintaining login status.
• Ensure to log out of each application separately if cookies persist.
• Use the close, exit, quit, or "X" button to fully exit the browser.
