everything that you currently see on screen was handd designed by expert developers from the most complex ecosystems to the smallest particles Minecraft has taken 15 years to get to where it is now and I'm about to [Music] ruin to quickly explain I managed to find out how Minecraft does their visuals and I have full control over every aspect of it so for example oh that looks really weird uh right so I'm able to well I'll just turn around I'm able to control everything so I made little waves where it really gets weird though is if you start adding visuals to it like that uh I'm going to turn it off real quick because that is that is very extreme but if we just go to this Pond for example it get it's I mean it is mesmerizing I don't this looks crazy but because I'm a very bad coder it doesn't really end there anything that's translucent will have this property so ice will have it things like honey and but also things like glass so which looks really weird um oh wow that is crazy huh imagine like trying to walk around this I have oh my God this is basically where the magic happens so up here we get the position of the block and then a bunch of math happens and even more math happens you don't really need to know what this is honestly even I don't really know what that is however if we were to do something like this where we add one to the Y position of a block this will hopefully make every block one high higher than it actually is so as you can see there is no block here it's down there all of these things including the water should be one block above the actual position of the water so you can oh wow this is that's interesting but the cool thing is when you start messing with game time the game time essentially is a number that just goes up over time so if I based on the position of a block ping noise is like this stuff it's it's basically just a bunch of noise that you generate over a large area and then wherever the white dots are and kind of like how gray it is in between that's where we're Shifting the Hue of the color which is like doing this basically you just go around the circle and by doing that this behind me turns into this which is really really cool but honestly you can do so many neat things with this for example you can also make it move based on where the player is so now we actually use the camera position to also affect the height oh this is so weird oh it's all squiggly when I move on the faster I go the weirder it gets too this kind of looks like a height map almost you know like the the higher it is the brighter the color gets and then low in valleys you can see has like this blue outline that's so weird okay we're starting to to get somewhere I have an idea huh there we go I made a little Globe it's like a like a moving Globe it doesn't quite spin but I mean it's it's close to oh oh God oh God what I God what is this so I think oh my God everything far away looks closer than things close by look at how big that water is but it's really far away look at me oh wow oh that's so weird look the flowers back here are bigger than the flower here even though that is incredibly far away like if I wanted to walk to that look at how long it's going to take you would think I'm getting close I'm like I'm not even close at all wait for it nope still not there still not there oh my God okay even I thought it was closer than this it's I'm still not there I'm still not at the flower I need to cross the river before I get to the flower apparently there was a river now I'm wait not yet now and I look wait can we find the other flower look at this is oh this is the weirdest thing ever I mean this looks normal but then look at how long it takes for me to get to the camera still going I'm still oh okay uh whoa look at that thing I don't even know where it's is it face at the feet or at the feet at the face no there's a face in there somewhere you can it just looked at me yeah so like there is a face in there but it's just really hard to find oh my god well now I don't know we're getting into territories where it's just a mess so this is what's going on you have the pein noise the random noise formula and I'm adding it to the coordinates of the texture if we lower this number so it's less severe now hopefully yeah so now it looks more normal there we go now it's now it's just like a a wobbly a wobbly little guy yeah I just noticed something really funny if you fly at a creature that's looking at you it's like it's trembling in fear I wonder what happens if we just like make it Minecraft maps their textures onto a giant thing called an atlas but what happens if you change a blocks texture cords to use the texture cords that are next to the block that it's meant to be I I'll show you what I mean wa oh wow okay so I made all the textures horizontally be the same oh that's wa okay so this does work oh look at these flowers I love myself some crossbow flowers and and furn what what what what even block is that I don't even know what that is there's a bunch of clocks growing there's just a bunch of growing what is this oh that's like a so that's a boat and then from this side it's one of those archaeology things and then that's I think part of the iron helmet and that's maybe a brick I don't know no I I don't know what that is oh wao okay um I guess the ground is now partially puffer fish and pumpkin seeds maybe I I think that's pumpkin seeds and it's only the grass as well the sand is still fine it's specifically the grass and the trees which are all Sher boxes okay it's not working now I think it will work and I'm C whoa okay those are some lines wa oh my God we're getting into territory where oh hold on what's going on with the water there we go and then we got the sign every single block that is a full block is ever so slightly shifting to the texture near it on the atlas also Compass grass oh oh my God y that's that's definitely worse so we got lapis Diamond there's obsidian we got Emerald there that looks like emerald block rail you know what's interesting so I imagine if we then put down rails we'll see the diamond back oh I guess we don't cuz we just see flowers uh yeah I mean this world is just pretty much everything you're looking at is insane this is this is I mean there's bees oh particles wait particles are still normal I can probably fix that wo wo okay oh wow yeah that's uh that looks about right wa what is this what is this Sandstorm going on right now are those the water particles oh I think that's like the bubbles
