    • Circuit: The complete path of a message from sender to receiver.
    • Early systems required physical electrical paths.
    • Modern systems still use the term for routing paths.
  • Circuit Switched Networks:

    • Used in frame relay networks like Ethernet or the Internet.
    • Permanent Virtual Circuit (PVC): Logical path established indefinitely.
