laws of the land you must contact the proper authorities to bring awareness to any possible threats as stated in leviticus chapter 5 and verse 1. all right so let's go ahead and get it let's go ahead and get it we're talking about uh first kings chapter nine in the time of solomon all right so let me get this gum out some people can multitask but i um i can't chew and talk at the same time all right here we go hey shalom says i must have christ bless all praise thank you here we go the book of first kings chapter nine and verse one and it came to pass when solomon had finished the building of the house of the lord in the king's house and all solomon's desire which he was pleased to do that the lord appeared to solomon the second time as he had appeared unto him at gabien a gibeon now what we gotta remember a lot of these so-called jews they talk about the temple the temple in jerusalem the temple they always talking about um uh their their heritage and their homeland which doesn't belong to them but you gotta remember solomon built the temple of the lord you understand the first temple not only that solomon was a black man all right let's read that real quick i don't want to go to a lot of precepts i want to do a lot of reading but you let the people know you remind them that solomon was a black man all right let's get this real quick sorry with solomon chapter one and verse five start at verse one uh the song of songs which is solomon's verse five i am black but calmly oh you daughters of jerusalem as the tents of kadar as the curtains of solomon you understand so whenever you see anybody talk about the jewish that they're asking what color was the man that built the first temple in jerusalem he was a black man see what they do all right see what they do all right let's get it but remember the scriptures say be a peace with all man but i'm just saying all right here we go first kings going back chapter 9 and verse 3 and the lord said unto him i have heard thy prayer and thy supplication that thou has made meet before me i have hallowed this house which thou has built to put my name therefore there forever and mine eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually and if thou will walk before me as david thy father walked in integrity of heart and an uprightness to do according to all that i have commanded thee and will keep my statutes and my judgments then i will establish thy throne the throne of thy kingdom upon israel forever as i promised david thy father saying there shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of israel okay verse six but if you shall at at all turn from following me ye or your children and will not keep the commandments and my statutes which i have set before you but go and serve other gods and worship them then i will cut off israel out of the land which i have given them in this house which i have hallowed for my name and i will cast out of my sight and israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people now we're going to stop right there this thing sounds familiar he says if you'll walk before me in integrity and uprightness as your father david did because a lot of people don't think that david had integrity right they see the things that he did uh he took the census of israel when he wasn't supposed to he took bathsheba the mighty man uriah's the hittite's wife he did a variety of things that he wasn't supposed to do but the lord still said that david in verse 4 walked upright and he had integrity of heart hmm later on in the chapter we're going to see how he had integrity of heart okay so in verse 7 we see that it that the lord said if we will not our solomon would not keep the commandments of the lord and not follow after the things that he said that he would cut off israel that he would uh cast cast him out of his sight which it means to cut him off and that we would be a proverb and a byword among all people where have we heard this before where have we heard this before where he said that we would be a proverb and a byword among all people let's go back let's go back because moses said it as well all right deuteronomy chapter 28 let's go there i want to hit verse 4 15 first but it shall come to pass if thou will not hearken unto the voice of the lord thy god to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which i command thee this day that all these curses shall come upon thee and overtake thee when it talks about overtaking us it's talking about not just uh that generation but the seed after as well watch this verse 37 and thou shall become an astonishment and a proverb and a byword among all nations whether the lord shall lead thee okay so we read that the lord just told just reminded solomon about the words that he gave to moses to tell to the children of israel let's go back to first kings chapter 9 and verse seven then will i cut off israel out of the land which i have given them in this house which i have hollowed for my name will i cast out of my sight and israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people it's going to say what it means in verse 8. and this house which is high which is a high mighty royal house everyone that passes by it shall be astonished and shall his and they shall say why have the lord done this unto this land and to this house that's what it means when the people look at us and have astonishment and uh uh of heart and look at us they're gonna be like dang this was a great people they had the jerusalem they had the kingdom they had everything and look at them now that's what it's talking about uh when it's talking about a proverb and by word that we used to be a people the astonishment that they uh that they're astonished at us because we don't know you know we don't recognize the fact that we once was on that level and now look at us all right verse 9 and they shall answer because they forsook the lord their god who brought forth their fathers out of the land of egypt and have taken hold upon other gods and have worshipped them and served them before therefore have the lord brought upon them all this evil okay so when people want to know why how we got out of jerusalem that's another precept to show we started serving other gods wood stone other other gods okay and um show them that the lord is not just all love because it says therefore hath the lord brought upon them all this evil okay verse 10 and it came to pass at the end of 20 years when solomon had built the two houses the house of the lord and the king's house solomon built that thing a black man okay verse 11. now hiram the king of tyree have furnished solomon with cedar uh trees and fir trees and with gold according to all his desire that then king solomon gave haram 20 cities in the land of galilee and iran came out from tyreen to see the cities which solomon had given him and they pleased him not so he pretty much gave him the ghettos he was like man what what is this i gave you the the best cedaw i gave you the best trees to help build this up you gave me 20 cities but this is 20 cities of trash this is the ghettos this is like this is like uh uh compton this is like inglewood this is like tampa this is like uh chicago this is like detroit all you he gave him the ghettos and he came down and he wasn't feeling it he said he can't get jiggy with this okay he was not feeling it that's what it mean when it says he pleased him not verse 13 and he said what cities are these which thou has given me my brother and he called them the land of kabul unto this day and haram sent to the king six score talents of gold of verse 15 and this is the reason of the levy which king solomon raised for to build the house of the lord in his own house in milo a millow in the wall of jerusalem and hazard in megadome for pharaoh king of egypt had gone up and taken gizer and burnt it with fire and slaying the canaanites that dwelt in the city and given him for a present unto his daughter solomon's wife okay so we look at that we already read about solomon taking the wife of the egyptian pharaoh or king so that's already breaking another commandment all right so we're going to start seeing that it became a snowball effect of sin that solomon became began to do we know that solomon was already gifted or um gifted with the with the uh with wisdom wisdom out that nobody on the face of the earth was able to have okay so you look at these great kings and pharaohs you look at um the so-called wise men of the earth nobody had more wisdom than solomon except christ okay um verse 16. where was i yep verse 16. i'm gonna read it again for pharaoh king of egypt had gone up and taken gazer and burned it with fire and slain the canaanites that dwelt in the city and given it for president to his daughter solomon's wife and solomon built gazer and our uh geezer and betha haran the nether and by allah and to tad more in the wilderness in the land verse 19 and all the cities of store that solomon had and cities for his chariots and cities for his horsemen and that which solomon desired to build in jerusalem and in lebanon and in all the land of his dominion so solomon took care of his people okay he has cities for his chariots he has cities for his horsemen you see that uh in in a land today you look at m c hammer you look at who was that uh that uh mike tyson they tried to take care of their people but they just didn't have it like solomon had it you understand verse 20 and all the people that were left of the ammonites the hittites the perizzites hevites jebusites which were not of the children of israel watch this their children that were left after them in the land whom the children of israel also were not able to utterly to destroy upon those did solomon levy a tribute of bond service unto this day what does that mean that the children that was left hey azariah all praises thank you that the children that was left he made them bond servants of the other nations of tribute of the other nations what does that mean means they were slaves was it lawful absolutely let's go to the law on that real quick just in case anybody's questioning let's go to leviticus chapter 25 and verse 44. leviticus chapter 25 and verse 44. now remember under solomon who reigned approximately 40 years there was uh there was peace in the land all right so nobody was like hey i you know i i ain't feeling this right now solomon made tribute okay marsha's leviticus 25 44. i'm tripping hold on where is it all right the book of leviticus chapter 25 and verse 44 both thy bond men and thy bond maids which thou shalt have shall be of the heathen that are round about you of them shall ye shall ye by bond men and bond maids all right so yes it is lawful that's what was going on all right let's go back to first kings chapter 9 and verse 22. it says i'll read verse 21 again their children that were left after them in the land whom the children of israel also were not eight were not able utterly to destroy upon those did solomon levy attribute of bond service unto this day now if we remember in the book of i think it was joshua that um hold on i don't want to miss quote uh no it's in judges it's in judges um i'm gonna get it real quick uh during the time of joshua but it's mentioned about in judges judges chapter 2 verse 20 because remember and well it says in acts chapter 9 that uh israel were not able to utterly to destroy the nations that were round about we're going to see why why was it because we weren't strong enough was it because we just didn't have the right weapons why were other nations left around in the first place we're going to see watch this let's go to judges chapter 2 and uh let's start at verse 20 and the anger of the lord was hot against israel and he said because that this people have transgressed my covenant which i commanded their fathers and have not hearkened unto my voice i also will not henceforth drive out any from them before them of the nations which joshua left when he died that through them just talking about the other nations i may prove israel whether they will keep the way of the lord to walk therein as their fathers did keep it or not therefore the lord left those nations without driving them out hastily neither delivered he them into the hand of joshua chapter 3 verse 1 now these are the nations which the lord left to prove israel by them even as many of israel as had not even unknown all the wars of canaan only the generations of the children of israel might know to teach them war at least such as before knew nothing thereof so the nations that we read about um in first kings chapter nine were left during the time of joshua um during the time of judges to prove us whether we would keep the commandments or not whether we would uh learn their ways or not whether we would get into idolatry mix marriages celebrate their holidays if we would intermingle within them now of course you can see that we had to work with them that's why solomon said hey man i appreciate you know giving me the best cedar i appreciate you know this this um this this trade that we got but i'm i'm gonna pay you i'm gonna give you the worst thereof i'm gonna give you the tri-cities i'm gonna give you the ghettos man you can't have the top-notch baby all right so solomon was a cold brother but uh all praises that was wisdom okay let's go back to first kings chapter 9 and we're at verse 22. so we read that uh in verse 21 that we did have uh israel had man servants and made servants of the other nations verse 22 first kings 9 22 but of the children of israel did solomon make no bond man but they were man of war and his servants and his princes and his captains and rulers of his chariots and his horsemen so instead of you know the poor making them um servants to tribute and things like that he built his people up he made them uh chiefs of officers he made him his men of war he trained him that means he had to put him he enlisted them in his military did his people get paid in the military yes he took care of his servants he took care of his chariot his cherry uh the people that took care of his chariot rulers of his chariots and his horsemen he took care of his people watch this verse 23 these were the chief of the officers that were over solomon's work 550 which bear rule over the people that wrought in the work okay but pharaoh's daughter came up out of the city of david onto her unto her house which solomon had built for her then did he build millow verse 25 and three times in a year did solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he had built unto the lord and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the lord so he finished the house and king solomon made a navy of ships in zion gabor which is beside eloth on the shore of the red sea in the land of edom now when you uh remember the class that deacon i thon very great class go back and watch um the name slips my mind but it was a few weeks ago where it talks about that um the navies from the navy ships uh from tarshish and things like that he had to sail and bring certain things back in those ships certain of them came to this side of the earth remember how wisdom uh the wisdom that the lord bestowed upon solomon he knew the routes to take he knew what times of years to go he knew about these things so when you read about the navy ships at the navy of ships solomon had that okay he had the power he had the wisdom he had the money and the knowledge to do these things all right those um those things were very important during those times and solomon had it all he was the man he was a man verse 26 and king solomon made a navy of ships to is zion gebur which is besides elon and on the shore of the red sea and the land of edom and haram sent in the navy his servants shipman that had knowledge of the sea with the servants of solomon and they came to owe fear and fetch from thence gold 420 talents and brought it to king solomon where he know where to go solomon had control of this wasn't nobody trying to undermine solomon nobody was trying to uh what excavate um what are these people the gravediggers and all of that nobody was trying to go under solomon let's look in the zondevin compact dictionary about the land of o fear okay in page 242 we're going to look at o fear we're going to look at the importance because there's a scripture that says the lord will make us more precious than gold more precious than the golden wedge of old fear let's look at how precious this o fear is give me one second did i say 242 i thought i had it here give me one second dang i wrote it in here wrong so i'm gonna have to find it the old school way oh here it is how many people when they trying to find uh words in a dictionary still count through the abcs abcdefg all right i'm guilty i'm guilty all right oh fear okay so oh fear is on page 424 now 242 is 424. it says um oh fear often indicates uh locations and no fear is placed between sheba and hawaii both of which were in southern arabia the land occupied by the descendants of ophir um it is mentioned as the source of much gold oh fear in arabia was not only the source of gold but it may have been a way station for the ships of tarshish coming westward from india okay if the apes ivory and peacocks to say nothing of the almond gold had to come from india these large ships which made the round trip once in three years could have voyage from the neighborhood of goa on the west coast of india to ophir and thence to the red sea and the gulf of i don't know how to pronounce that but oh fear was famous for its gold from very early days even in the time of job okay so you read about how ophir was named after man but it was a land that had much gold precious gold alright so let's go back first kings chapter 9 and verse 28 and they came to o fear and fetch from thence gold 420 talents and brought it to king solomon the book of first kings chapter 10 and verse 1. and when the queen of sheba heard of the fame of solomon concerning the name of the lord she came to prove him with hard questions so she came she probably came with a list a whole scroll of questions for this brother she wanted to make sure that he was who she who people say that he was and we're gonna read uh read a little bit about this sheba as well because if you know anything about uh i think it's like the rastafarian culture um sheba and in the ethiopian tradition um sheba holds a lot of weight within their beliefs okay but we're gonna see does it correlate to king solomon does he have descendants from sheba and vice versa a lot of people we kind of battle with that and we're gonna we're gonna answer that question today first kings chapter 10 and verse one again and when queen and when the queen of sheba heard of the fame of solomon concerning the name of the lord she came to prove him with hard questions and she came to jerusalem with a very great train with camels that bear spices and with very much gold and precious stones and when she was come to solomon she communed with him of all that was in her heart so she had these questions that was on her mind and she asked solomon verse three and solomon told her all her questions there was not anything hid from the king which he told her not and when the queen of sheba had seen all of solomon's wisdom all and the house that was that he had built and the meat of his table and the sitting of his servants and the attendants of his ministers and their apparel she came and she she was like she had questions for him and he was like wait wait i know what you're probably thinking right now how could i you know she was astonished he was answering questions that she probably didn't even think of he was answering questions before she could even get him out solomon was a wise man i know what you're thinking let me tell you but in verse 5 it says in the meat of his table and the sittings of his servants and the attendants of his ministers and their apparel and his cup bearers and hit in his ascent from by which he went up unto his into the house of the lord there was no more spirit in her meaning she she couldn't believe it she almost fainted she saw that everything that solomon had was in order the ascent going up to the house of the lord the way he had to travel she's just like look at his brother his his cup bearers are in order they they have uniform they have you understand there's uniform in the house of the lord so yes sisters it is imperative when you're in the body that we're all on one accord black purple or your original royalty uh if you don't have your original royalty apparel attire yes it's important the brothers the purple and um black with your boots lace your your boots shine you understand creased in the house of the lord and for those in uniform for the man of valor to have your manavala shirts okay come in with your black uh pants and your boots shine if you're not in meadow valley you're waiting to get in have a black shirt with your black shoes with your black boot everybody should be in order that way when those without come within they'd be astonished there'd be no more spirit within them what spirit the spirit from the world that doesn't have any order they'll look in the body and say you know what there's no more there's no more that spirit of undiscipline in me i want to be like these brothers the sisters come in i want to be like these sisters because i see that they are in order that's a blessed thing to have that shows wisdom shows discipline and it shows love for the people you understand let's continue let's continue verse uh first kings chapter 10 and verse 6 and she said to the king it was a true report that i heard in my own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom howbeit i believe not the words until i came and my eyes had seen it and behold the half was not told to me thy wisdom and prosperity exceeded the fame which i heard verse 8 happy are thy men that means that they were happy to be in order i'm gonna finish it this just made me excited verse 8 happy are thy man happy are thy servants which stand continually before thee and that and that hear thy wisdom meaning that when she looked around she saw that these men were happy to be in order she saw that the sisters were happy to be in order they stood continually before them their knees wasn't getting weak they didn't want to say can i get a can can i can i get a replacement they saw that the the man that was on post on security that uh that they they wasn't falling asleep she saw that everybody was happy to be serving in the house of the lord because they had no complaints you understand the the the uh what wisdom the solomon was ruling wisely he was taking care of his people so when there's no reason to to complain brothers sisters we gotta serve with joyfulness and gladness of heart that's a beautiful thing and she observed that so when those that come into the body look around they should be able to observe that all right all right uh that's right out there you're absolutely right let's uh let's go keep reading so we're first kings chapter 10 and verse nine blessed be the lord of thy god this is her words she says blessed be the lord of thy god which delighted in thee to set thee on the throne of israel because the lord loved israel forever she understood that the nations understood that the lord loved israel loved israel forever she understood that she that let's get it deuteronomy i ain't going to talk about it we're just going we're just going to read it we're going to let the bible speak deuteronomy chapter seven verse six all right when did he love israel deuteronomy chapter seven and verse six we're gonna keep reading for thou art a holy people unto the lord thy god the lord thy god have chosen thee to be a special people unto himself above all people that are upon the face of the earth she understood that she understood that the lord chose in order to choose there has to be options you understand the lord made a choice out of all he said i want israel verse 7. and the lord did not the lord did not set his love upon you nor choose you because you were more number than any people but you were the fewest of all people but because the lord loved you and because he would keep the oath which he has sworn unto your fathers have the lord brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you out of the house of the bond men from the hand of pharaoh king of egypt you understand he brought us out and you got to remember too what we just read in 1st kings chapter 9 solomon married the daughter of the uh the king of egypt the pharaoh he knew that history he didn't have no beef with solomon you say man you destroyed my forefathers the lord of your the god of you your forefathers destroyed my forefathers man and made us look stupid he swallowed up all the homies in the red sea i can't i can't give you my daughter no he understood that the lord god was with israel i understand and they gonna understand that again so first kings chapter 10 and verse 9 this is what the queen of sheba has said blessed be the lord thy god was delighted in thee to set thee on the throne of israel because the lord loved israel forever she understood that it's time for us to understand that it's time for the other nations to understand that therefore made he the king to judge uh to do judgment and justice let's continue and she gave the king 120 talents of gold and of spices very great store and precious stones there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of sheba gave to king solomon and the navy of hiram that brought gold from o fear and brought in from ophir great plenty and alma trees and precious stones and the king made uh in the king made of the algme tree pillars for the house of the lord and for the king's house harps also in south trees for singers there came no such alkma trees nowhere seen unto this day so they went out and had shipments of all of these things you understand to bring back to make pillars to to uh for for singers in the house of the lord for the saltiest for singers meaning that solomon knew how to entertain the people he wasn't just no i i don't want no music i don't want nothing just just everybody just be bored and uh milo monotone i'm just gonna serve the lord no they were serving the lord with joyfulness and heart of heart and gladness of heart he he uh he had pillars that means he had vision for the house of the lord he wanted certain things done i mean of course the lord told him to do certain things but he wanted to he wanted he wanted um israel to be able to enjoy the feast israel to be able to uh have joyfulness in the things that they did all right verse 13 and king solomon gave unto the queen of sheba all her desire whether she asked beside that which solomon gave her of his royal bounty hmm now a lot of people get caught up in that they say see that solomon gave her all she desired but when we read already she had questions she wanted to know about his wisdom about the order that he had so much so that she said listen i know i found out more from seeing you and seeing what what you're doing then i heard about what you're doing she never said anything about his uh his royal bed his royal throne she never said anything about sex but here's where a lot of um even christians and here's where a lot of the uh um culture in ethiopia believe that this is happening or that this happened that they had sex laid down verse 13 one more time and king solomon gave unto the queen of sheba all her desire whatsoever she asked what did she ask she had questions now i know what we're thinking all her desire we think it's a sexual con of context but i'm gonna show you something in deuteronomy uh 14 watch this this is going in regards to the tithing okay because the bible it uses certain terms that in today are kind of um like desire it kind of um today's time has kind of perverted some of the words all right so we're gonna go to deuteronomy 14 and verse 26. it says uh verse 25 we're going to start in verse 25. start at verse 24 all right deuteronomy 14 and 24 and if the way be too long for thee so that thou are not able to carry it or uh so that there aren't not able to carry it or if the place be too far from me which is talking about jerusalem which the lord thy god shall choose to set his name there when the lord thy god hath blessed thee then thou shalt turn it into money and bind it up bind up the money in thine hand and thou shall go unto the place which the lord thy god shall choose so this is talking about tithing which was of the field watch in verse 22 truly shalt thou uh thou shalt truly tithe all the inherent increase of thy seed and the and that the field bringeth forth year by year so i'm gonna slow it down tithe was the increase that the field brought year by year it was the tenth of what we have from the crops of the oils and the corn and the wine all of the things we're supposed to bring for the levites in jerusalem but like we just read in verse 24 if where you're located is too far for you to carry that to jerusalem to give to the levites then you turn it into money it was never money but once you turn it into money watch this verse 25 then shalt thou turn it into money and bind up the money in thine hand and shall go into the place which the lord thy god shall choose and thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after the reason we went here is because in first kings chapter 10 it said in verse 13 and king solomon gave unto the queen of sheba all her desire what we're proving is that these words aren't always what we think they are desire and um let's go back to deuteronomy 14 and 26 and thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after what does all that mean is talking in regards to whatever you whatever you wanted in in that context i'm gonna show you for oxen it says and thou shall bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after for oxen for or for sheep or for wine or for strong drink or for whatever thy soul lusteth after and the lord shall and thou shalt eat there before the lord thy god and thou shalt rejoice thou in thy household you understand so it's not talking about sex it's talking about the desire or the lu uh the lust after in that context so let's go back i hope it makes sense first kings chapter 10 and verse 13. and king solomon gave unto the queen of sheba all her desire what was her desire to know about the wisdom of solomon that's what he's talking about we got to put it back in like the christians say in context okay whatsoever and it says whatsoever she asked besides that which solomon gave her of his royal bounty she turned and went to her own country she and her servants it says nothing about her being pregnant okay watch this you go to um britannica biography queen of sheba i'm gonna read a little bit it says the queen of sheba appears as a prominent figure in the cabra nagas or the glory of king the ethiopian national epic and foundation story so this is fundamental in the ethiopian culture about the queen of sheba according to this tradition the queen of sheba called mecca visited solomon's court after hearing about his wisdom she stayed and learned from him for six months on the last night of her visit he tricked her into his bed and she became pregnant she returned to her kingdom where she bore solomon a son manilec or menelecta first was made king by his father thus founding the royal solemn solomonic dynasty of ethiopia this is real people which ruled until the disposition of haile salasie the first in 1974 wow okay so apparently the queen of sheba during his story laid down with solomon he tricked her because he didn't have enough women and we're going to read about that he tricked her into laying down sent her away back to her home and then there was man elect the first solomon made him king and then he uh became the progenitor or the forefather of haley selassie and they say hey lisa it's not an i it's a one okay haley selassie the first in 1974. okay the story of queen of sheba also appears among the persians where she is considered the daughter of a chinese king and a parry hmm listen let's go back i'm sorry to say it solomon ain't the baby daddy all right according to the text solomon you are not the father all right that's what the bible say and here's another thing they think that haley selassie the first came from the loins of solomon and that the um the ark of the covenant is in ethiopia all right roster guy way off with that one yes benjamin you're right all right we're going to prove that ethio i just want to smash this a little bit okay and then we'll get back to the reading haley selassie or ethiopia does not have the ark of the covenant okay because first of all they have nothing to do with solomon okay whole comment says all right here we go watch this watch this we're gonna go the second maccabees yeah second maccabees chapter two verse four i'm just i'm gonna just smash this real quick second maccabees chapter two and verse 4 all right that man all these bill collectors calling me all right second maccabees chapter 2 and verse 4 and it was also contained in the same writing that the prophet being warned of god commanded the tabernacle and the ark go with him as he went forth into the mountain where moses climbed up and saw the heritage of god and when jeremy which is jeremiah came thither he found a hollow cave wherein he laid the tabernacle and the ark and the altar of incense and he stopped the door meaning he closed or put um he rolled a stone over the door verse six or he just shut it and some of those that followed him came to mark the way but they could not find it which when jeremy perceived he blamed them saying as for that place it shall be unknown until the time that god gather his people again together and receive them unto mercy the lord hasn't gathered us all together and he hasn't received us unto mercy what is that talking about when christ returns the ark of the covenant is lost is gone from the memory of man jeremiah the prophet couldn't find it neither could his people and neither could the ethiopians so no i'm sorry it's not in ethiopia okay and you don't have it it's gone it's lost until christ returns and haley sanasi is not christ okay let's continue i'm sorry i just had to get that out my system first kings chapter 10 verse 13. and king solomon gave unto the queen of sheba all her desire whatsoever she asked beside that which solomon gave her of his royal bounty so she returned and went to her own country she and her servants now the weight of gold that came to solomon in one year was 603 score and six talents of gold uh besides that he had of the merchant and of the traffic of the spice merchants and of all the kings of arabia and of the governors of the country and king solomon made 200 targets of beaten gold 600 shekels of gold went to one target and he made 300 shields of beaten gold three pound of gold went to one shield and the kings put them in the house of the forest of lebanon there moreover the king made a great throne of ivory and overlaid it with the best gold verse 19 the throne had six steps and the top of the throne was round bout behind and therefore were staged on either side of the place of the sea and two lions stood beside the stays and 12 lions stood therefore on the one side and on the and the other upon the um the six steps there was not like made in any kingdom so people always talk about graven images and things of this nature when it talks about graven images it's talking about images like leviticus 26 and verse one let's go back leviticus chapter 26 and verse one and ye shall ye shall not make you no idols nor graven image neither rear ye up a standing image remember these lions that were around solomon were standing but here's the difference neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land to bow down unto it for i am the lord your god so were there graven images yes were there graven images to worship in the house of the lord no we didn't bow down to those things okay there were lions round about standing lions but not to worship not to bow down so much so that there was none like it in all the earth all right let's continue um i left off at verse 20 and 12 lions stood there for on the one side and on the other side upon the six steps there was none like it made in any kingdom and all king and all king solomon's drinking vessels were made of gold and all the vessels of the house of the forest of lebanon were of pure gold none were of silver it was nothing accounted of in those days of solomon meaning hey i got gold everywhere it's it's nothing i got gold like it ain't nothing ain't nothing silver baby this is gold i love gold gold uh solomon has so much gold it was like how we be having pennies you understand we got pennies in in in uh in the in the cup drawers we we got pennies in our pocket you understand solomon had money he had pure gold you got a picture that verse 22. for king for the king had a sea an at sea a navy of tarsus with the navy of haram once in three years came the navy of tarshish bringing gold and silver ivory and apes and peacocks solomon had apes people if you know anything about me you know that i love gorillas specifically uh silverback gorillas they're amazing and lord willing i can ride a guerrilla in the kingdom all right lord willing that's what i want i want to have a gorilla and uh many gorillas and uh if the nations get out of order imma send my gorillas to slap a heathen take them up a tree and drop them all right that's not now that's just an imagination one day all right you never know but i love apes and solomon had apes okay he had these apes and he brought him back not only that there was ivory um which were elephants teeth are the tusks that came from elephants and peacocks these things are very precious on the face of the earth okay verse 23 so king solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom you see that no king reigned like king solomon no king was richer than king solomon they tried to say massamuso or uh other ethiopian kings or african nobody did it like king solomon i'm telling you all right well the bible's telling you verse 24 and all the earth sought to solomon to hear his wisdom which god had put in his heart and they brought every man his presence his present vessels of silver and vessels of gold and garments and armor and spices horses and mules and a rate year by year and solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots and 12 000 horsemen whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots and with the king at jerusalem remember these were of his people instead of making them slaves and and bond servants he said look i'm gonna make 12 000 horse horsemen i'm gonna make uh chariots and horsemen a thousand and four hundred chariot he did this of all his people he was what he he provided jobs for his people let's keep going verse 27 and the king made silver to be in jerusalem as stones and cedar and cedars made he to be as the sycamore trees that are in the veil for abundance so it was just like stones laying around that's how silver was in jerusalem to solomon and solomon had horses brought out of egypt and linen yarn and king so you talking about that uh that uh persian that that what is it the egyptian linen that's what he had and solomon had horses brought out of egypt and in linen yarn and king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price and a chariot came up and a chariot came verse 29 a chariot came up and went out of egypt for 600 shekels of silver and a horse for 150 and so for all the kings of the hittites and for the kings of syria did they bring them out by their means so solomon was like look i want that today it'd be like a bugatti you know what i'm saying today i speak as a man okay he bought the best chariots he bought them them the nice gold-plated chariots with the seats and things on it and you understand the night with the nice reigns on the horses and all of that solomon wasn't going cheap on his horses he said i want it i like it i'ma buy it that's how he was you understand he was balling out but here's the thing there comes a point where and we'll start to see i don't want to you know overshoot it where you become complacent right you have so much you have uh not just wisdom you have riches you have the people and with those things come power you understand power and gold can begin to pervert the mind if you're not grounded and that's what we're going to see as we continue reading all right so we're now in first kings chapter 11 and verse 1. but king solomon loved many strange women remember with the money with the power with the distribution of jobs comes women comes uh distractions comes the flocking of groupies as solomon had but the king solomon loved many strange women together with the daughter of pharaoh so we had a wife already that was a different nation but he also loved the other women of the moabites which are the chinese in that time you gotta remember they wasn't the people that we're looking at today they they the chinese women at that time the moabites they were dark people and ammonites japanese dark people ammonites hold on ammon yep and [ __ ] now they weren't dark i don't know what he was thinking they weren't dark they was red people on the face of the earth as they are today you understand and the zydonians those were africans the children of zidane when you hear about tyree and zaidan he loved the africans as well and the hittites africans as well the lord had already told uh our people not to do these things let's get the law on that deuteronomy chapter seven and verse three okay deuteronomy 7 and 3. and it says uh neither shalt thou make marriages with them who's of them the other nations thy daughter thou shall not give unto his son nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son for they will turn away thy son from following me that they may serve other gods so will so will the anger of the lord be kindled against you and destroy thee suddenly so the lord loves solomon solomon loved his people but he also loved the women of the other nations remember the lord said they will turn your children and your heart away from your god and you will learn other gods it wasn't a maybe it was a will you understand so as we start to read let's go back first kings chapter 10 and verse 2. it says of the other nations concerning which the lord said unto the children of israel you shall not go into them neither shall they come in unto you for you sure for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods solomon clave unto these in love even still david told him not to do it his father told him look man listen be be a man we read that in um first kings now chapter two let's read it again he warned him but that's israel that's jake what do they say uh israel whacks fat or gestron wax fat and kick we kick our feet up we get complacent we get content watch this first kings chapter two and verse one then i'm gonna continue reading for the sake of time uh let's continue now the days of david drew nine that he should die and he charged solomon his son saying i go the way of all the earth be thou strong therefore and show thyself a man and keep the charge of the lord thy god to walk in his ways and to keep his statutes and his commandments and his judgments and his testimonies at his writ as it is written in the law of moses which we read in deuteronomy 7 and 6 that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest and whithersoever thou turnest thyself warned um his son solomon david was a prophet as well remember the most high or the lord spoke through the prophets so david already knew he was like look man i i did things that i wasn't supposed to do i'm tr i'm trying to say don't do what i did solomon but yet and still solomon did these things not only did he take the women of the other nations he also broke another law that the lord told them not to do lord willing you can write these in your precepts deuteronomy 17 and 17. watch this book of deuteronomy chapter 17 and verse 17. neither shall he multiply wives to himself to talk about the king of israel that his heart turned not away neither shall he greatly multiply to him silver and gold that's what happened that's what's going on let's continue reading first kings chapter 11 and verse 2 of the nations concerning which the lord said unto the children of israel ye shall not go into them neither shall they come in unto you for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods solomon clave unto these and love another one is exodus 34 and 16. and he had 700 wives princesses and 300 concubines and his wives turned away his heart it happened just like the lord said it would it happened for solomon went after astaroth the goddess of the zydonians and after milkam the abomination of the ammonites and solomon did evil in the sight of the lord and went not fully after the lord as did his father david went fully after the lord solomon didn't you understand because his heart turned away when sat when david sinned against the lord he repented and he turned back unto the lord solomon kept going into sin you understand that's why the scripture says a righteous man falls seven times and gets back up again you understand verse eight uh hold on where are we at and you remember asherath is who we call um easter um esther or diana all right you read about that in the new testament as well let's uh first kings 11 and seven then did solomon build in high place for chamet uh kamash an abomination of moab and in the hills that is before jerusalem and for molech the abomination of the children of ammon for the sake of time right amos chapter 5 and verse 26 molek um or rifram is who uh you see the six point star which a lot of the israelite camps still wear when you look at the israel um uh israeli flag you'll see it's called the shield of solomon or something like that or the star of dave uh the star of solomon or shield of david looks like this i don't know if uh i can do this or not but it looks like this all right see that that is the star of molech when you read amos chapter 5 and verse 26 okay that's what it's talking about it's an idol solomon put it up to worship the gods of the the goddess of the zydonians it's nothing it has nothing to do with righteousness it's called the shield of david uh it has nothing to do with the righteousness in israel okay so if you got that in your house get rid of it it's an idol if you got it on your your neck you whatever get rid of it okay let's continue first kings 11 inverse okay fine fine i'll prove it i'll prove it uh amos where's amos let me get it for the sake of time i'm trying to i'm trying to uh uh make sure we hurry up but i'm pretty sure there's somebody out there calling me a liar all right calling me a liar uh 5 and verse 26 star of molech there we go book of amos chapter 5 and verse 26 but ye have borne the tabernacle of molech and ki chion your images the star of your god which which he made to yourselves where did we get that from from the time of solomon okay from the time of solomon when you read in acts chapter uh 7 and verse 43 israel was still doing this in a time of acts it was called the the star of reference still doing it as a lot of israel still does today so let's go back let's go back i just had to do that all right first kings 11 and verse 8 and likewise did he for all his strange wives which burnt incense and sacrifice unto their gods and the lord was angry with solomon because his heart was turned from the lord god of israel which he had appeared unto him twice so it's not just like he read the uh the the the bible the lord spoke to solomon himself he he heard his voice verse 10 and had commanded him concerning these things that he should not go after other gods but he kept not that which the lord commanded wherefore the lord said unto him solomon for as much as this is done of thee and thou has not kept my commandments and my statute which i have commanded thee i will surely ran the kingdom from thee and will give it to thy servant notwithstanding in thy days i will not do it for david thy father's sake but i will rend it out of the hand of thy son this is a very pivotal uh moment in the history of israel okay very pivotal moment in the history of israel because of this you will see that the kingdom of israel became divided this was the sin among many sins but this right here this was the sin that divided the kingdom of israel under jeroboam and reborn he said i'm not going to do it in your in your time solomon because of your father i love your daddy but i'ma do it in your children's time because i told you not to do this and you did it anyway verse 13 how be it i will not rent away uh i will not rent away all the kingdom excuse me i had a call i will not rent away all the kingdom but howbeit i will not rent away all the kingdom but will give one tribe to the son of david my servants uh for the son of david my servant's sake and for jerusalem's sake which i have chosen we're going to see what that one tribe was okay verse 14 and the lord stirred up an adversary unto solomon hey dad the edomite come on man come on now dawg so when we read about it he says i will give it to your servant hey dad the edomite he stirred up an adversary of israel esau was always the first hater esau was always the first enemy remember in genesis it said that he comforts himself in in in killing us he always had hatred against the children of israel you understand so let's continue reading for it came to pass when david was in edom and joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain after he had smitten every male in edom we weren't playing with them [ __ ] 16 verse 16 for six months did joao remain there with all israel until he had cut off every male and edom esau man they they had to go when you read about it i'm not gonna get it now but when um when king david was fleeing from saul he went into the temple and got his sword that he slowed that he slew king david with because you know he had to protect himself and um saul and his compadres came and he had a servant that was an edomite he was talking to the priest and was like look man um you helped david out that you you an accessory to the crime i'm the king i'ma have to uh i'm gonna have to kill you for that thing but nobody would touch the priest because he was a priest so he says who's gonna kill this man i command you to kill him the first person that stood up and said i'll do it was an edomite that's what happened it's a sad thing not only did he do that he killed all the priests and a lot of women and children that gum [ __ ] all right so let's go um first kings 11 and 16 uh 17 that hey dad fled now what am i reading hold on verse 15 for it came to pass when david was in edom and joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain after he had smitten every male in edom for six months the joab remained there with all israel until he had cut off every male in edom you read about that in second samuel chapter 8 17 verse 17 that hadath fled he and certain [ __ ] of his father's servants with him to go into egypt hate that being a little child so he remembered everything that he just saw that he that he witnessed that he heard about and they arose out of midian and came to piranha and they took men with them out of peran and they came to egypt unto pharaoh king of egypt which gave him a house and appointed him vic vic um victor's and gave him land and hadat found great favor in the sight of pharaoh so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife the sister of top penis the queen and the sister of tapanese uh bar bear him ganesh gennabuth his son who tapeness weaned in pharaoh's house and gun gun gannabuth was in pharaoh's household among the sons of pharaoh and when haddad heard in egypt that david slept with his fathers that joab the captain of the host was dead haydad said to pharaoh let me depart that i might go to my own country then pharaoh said unto him but what hast thou lacked with me that behold thou seeketh to go to thy own country and he answered nothing i'll be it let me go on my own in any one let me go any in uh in any wise and god stirred him up another adversary resin the son of eleadah eliader excuse me which fled from his lord hadas uh had hada a desert king of zobath and he gathered men unto him and became captain over a band when david slewed them in zobah and they went to damascus and dwelt therein and reigned in damascus and he was an adversary to israel all the days of solomon so it's given a little bit of history of um hey dad and the [ __ ] that they got um partnership with pharaoh king of egypt okay and he's saying that they uh after egypt he wanted to go certain places then he went to a resident um then he went to uh verse 25 in damascus verse 25 and he was an adversary to israel all the days of solomon now remember there was peace under the time of solomon but not so many more that's how the lord does it you keep the commandments he'll give you peace you break the commandments he will give strength to your haters that's why you know you go to the uh to the office you know people hating on you at work or wherever you be you notice somebody that's always against you but they just never say nothing but then you start breaking the commandments you start doing silly things you start doing the opposite of what you're supposed to do and then everything that stored up start coming out well uh we've been watching you for quite some time mr johnson and we see that you stole three erasers you were shaking the uh the the the vending machine uh sir and um you parked in illegal parking so we're gonna have to let you go you see what i'm saying all the why didn't you say nothing in because you were doing what you was you the lord it just wasn't it wasn't your time yet but now the lord rose up an adversary to israel watch this and he was an adversary to israel all the days of solomon besides the mischief the heyday did and he abhorred israel and reigned over syria and jeroboam the son of nabat and aphrodite of zerada solomon's servant whose mother's name was zarua a widow woman even he left lifted up his hand against the king where am i at okay verse 27 and this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king solomon built mello and repaired the breaches of the city of david his servant his father and the man and the man jeroboam was a mighty man of valor and solomon seeing the young man that he was in industrious he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of joseph remember joseph was two tribes when you read about it in joshua chapter 14 and verse 4 it says that joseph was true tribes ephraim and manasseh okay and it came to pass at that time when jeroboam went out of jerusalem that the prophet elijah the shallow knight found him in the way and he had clad himself with a new garment and they too were alone in the field in ahijah which was a prophet of the lord caught the new garment that was on him and rented in 12 pieces so he took it and he started um took his garment and started re renting it or tearing it in 12 pieces and he said to jeroboam take thee 10 pieces so to jeroboam he gave 10 pieces of this garment for thus saith the lord the god of israel behold i will run the kingdom out of the hands of solomon and will give ten tribes to thee so remember the lord said that he would um keep one tribe that he wouldn't uh take one tribe that he would preserve one tribe of uh david okay and now we're reading that the prophet elijah told that he rented in 12 pieces and he gave it to jeroboam so what's going on here it seems like something's missing he gave him 10 tribes there's two tribes that's missing house of david is referring to [Music] judah and watch this hold on and benjamin at that time watch this verse 32 but he shall have one tribe for my servant david's sake and for jerusalem's sake the city which i have chosen out of all the tribes of israel because that they have forsaken me i have worshiped and have worshipped azeroth the good the goddess of the zydonians kimash the god of the moabites and malcolm the god of the children of ammon and have not walked in my ways to do that which is right in my eyes to keep my statues and my judgments as did david his father howbeit i will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand but i will make him prince all the days of his life for david my servant's sake whom i have chosen because he kept my commandments and my statutes david did but i would take the kingdom out of his son's hand and will give it uh unto thee even 10 tribes so jeroboam got 10 tribes of israel um as we continue reading we'll see that the house of judah or the house david was benjamin and judah levi as will reid went with um jeroboam and then got cast out and then came became part of the house of judah judah benjamin levine we'll keep reading verse 36 and unto his sons will i give one try that david my servant may have a light away from me in jerusalem that which i have chosen me to put my name there and i will take thee and thou shall reign according to all that thou soul desireth and shall be king over israel uh hold on i may have gotten it backwards but let's keep reading and it shall be if thou wilt hearken unto all that i command thee and will walk in my ways and do that which is right in my sight to my uh to keep my statutes and my commandments as david my uh my servant did that i will be with thee and build the ashore house as i built for david and will give israel unto thee um and i will for this afflict the seed of david but not forever solomon sought therefore to kill jeroboam and jeroboam arose and fled into egypt unto shaishak king of egypt and was in egypt until the death of solomon so solomon was like yo it's going to be divided onto my sons uh i'm not liking this i'm not liking this jeroboam um is going to get 10 tribes and is going to be divided within within uh israel imma kill him i'm gonna kill my son i'm gonna kill him you could see that he had no longer the spirit of the lord after he started dwelling with these other nations um verse 38 and it shall be if thou wilt hearken unto hold on where am i reading uh okay here we go yep verse 40. solomon uh first kings 11 and 40. solomon sought therefore to kill jeroboam and jeroboam arose and fled into egypt and unto shaishak king of egypt and was in egypt until the death of solomon and the rest of the acts of solomon and all that he did has in his wisdom they are they not written in the book of the acts of solomon and the time that solomon reigned in jerusalem over israel was forty years okay and solomon slept with his father and was buried in the city of david his father and ray obama his son reigned in his set in his stead okay so we read about jeroboam getting 10 tribes now we're reading about rehoboam okay that reigned after the sun i mean the um son of david solomon first kings chapter 12 and verse one and ray obama went to shechem okay let me uh i got a couple minutes here do we have any questions so far all right i'm not sure if uh if anybody does this but ask questions they usually ask questions at the end but if you do have uh some questions uh which i would like to get at the end write them put them in spiritual pocket and then um lord william will have a little a few minutes go over that okay let me see how long is chapter 12 wow not that bad okay here we go so yeah solomon is now dead but before he died he tried to kill his son jeroboam which would get ten tribes now after his death raya born reigned in his stead and ray obama went to shechem for all israel were come to shechem to make him king and it came to pass when jeroboam the son of the bot who was yet in egypt heard of it for he was fled from the presence of the king solomon and jeroboam dwelt in egypt which we just read about okay he fled to egypt to flee from his father's persecution that they sent and called him and jeroboam and all the congregation of israel came and spake to reborn saying thy father made our yoke grievous now therefore make thou the greek make thou the grievous service of thy father and his heavy yoke which he put upon us lighter and we will serve thee now when it talks about uh thy father made our yoke grievous it was talking about in regards to the building of the temple um remember uh he solomon didn't take on uh slaves he took on servants he took on you know in regards to um giving them i guess jobs he didn't make them uh slaves as he did to other nations in that regard but they hit they did have to put in that work they did have to put in that labor okay um verse five and he said unto them so that uh this is israel coming to reborn um and he that you that your father made our yoke heavy this is his response um reborn's response verse 5 and he said unto them depart ye for three days then come again to me and the people departed this goes in at that point the young brother had wisdom meaning that if you don't have an answer it's okay to take some time to give us would give an answer okay give an answer and it's okay between that time to get counsel to give that answer but here's the problem you don't get counsel from the people that aren't counselors from your peers a lot of sisters they get counsel from the people that they that they came into the truth with not an elder sister and a lot of brothers they get counseled with the people that are on their level or that came into the truth with them not their elders that's a problem and we're going to see here verse six and king rehoboam consulted with the old man that stood before solomon his father while he yet lived and said how do you advise that i may answer this people and they spake unto him saying if thou will be a servant unto this people this day and will serve them and answer them and speak good words to them then will they be thy servants forever but he forsook the counsel of the old man and they uh which they had given him and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him and which stood before him now there's a problem with that he he didn't care about that he didn't care about the the the uh wisdom of the elder man that served with his father it has to be said something solomon was the wisest man to walk on the face of the earth and yet he had counselors he forsook the counselors of the wisest man on the face of the earth oh gosh so you know it went downhill from here verse 9 and he said unto them what counsel ye give that ye may answer this people who have spoken to me saying make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter this is ray on speaking to his homies his friends those are that were on uh age with them verse 10 and the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him saying man i'm sorry thus shalt thou speak unto them uh unto this people that spake unto thee saying thy father made our yoke heavy but make thou it lighter unto us thus shalt thou say unto them my little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins disrespectful verse 11 and now whereas my father did laid you with a heavy yolk i will add your yolk i will add to your yolk my father has chastised you with with whips but i will chastise you with scorpions so jeroboam and all the people came to rehoboam the third day as the king had appointed saying come to me again the third day so that was rare obama's answer when they came back the third day that's what he had to say from them not from the council of the older man but from the council of those he grew up with verse 13 and the king answered and the people the people roughly and forsook the uh old man's counsel that that they gave him and spake to them after the council of the young man saying my father made your yoke heavy and i will add to you to your yoke my father also chastise you with whips but i will chastise you with scorpions wherefore the king hearken not unto the people for the cause was from the lord for the cause was from the lord that he might perform his saying which the lord spake by ahijah sheila knight unto jeroboam the son of nabat so when all israel saw that the that the king hearken not unto them the people answered the king saying what portion have we in david neither have we inheritance and the sons of jesse to your tents o israel now see to thine own house david so israel departed unto their tents but as for the children of israel which dwelt in the cities of judah rehoboam reigned over them okay remember ray obam and jeroboam jeroboam was to get 10 tribes rehoboam now you see reigned over the cities of judah in jerusalem okay then king reborn sent adorama who was over the tribute and all israel stoned him with stones that he died then king rehoboam sent adorama who was over the tribute and all israel stoned him with stones that he died therefore king rambo made speed to get up to the chariots to flee jerusalem all right so israel rebelled against the house of david unto this day so that's the split within israel israel rebelled against um the house of david southern kingdom rebelled against the the no no no northern kingdom rebelled against southern kingdom until this day until this day okay you'll see it obon sent adorama who was over the tribute he said hey man go get them people back man they still got work to do they still you know that's why they said what do we have in the house of david what inheritance do we have listen we already know about uh uh the the judah you know um that there shall be a king that reigns from the loins of judah listen man we ain't got nothing to do with y'all y'all want to rule to your tents israel let them do their own work let them do their own thing we would serve we would we would serve with gladness just listen to us make that uh the yolk a little lighter and we'll do what we got to do but um the wisdom of uh rehoboam was slack it was bad it was bad so verse 19 first kings 12 and 19. so israel rebelled against the house of david unto this day in verse 15 remember the cause was from the lord it was a prophecy that had to come to pass verse 20. and it came to pass when all israel heard that jeroboam was come again that they sent and called him unto the congregation and made him king over israel there was none that followed the house of david but the tribe of judah only remember that tribe of judah only once they heard that jeroboam had came back from um from egypt they said hey yo we ate we doing our own thing we're sovereigns okay let's call jeroboam to roll over us since we departed from reborn let's go to jeroboam that's how jeroboam got the 10 tribes okay verse 21 and when rehoboam was come to jerusalem he assembled the house of judah with the tribe of benjamin and hundred and four score thousand chosen men which were warriors to fight against the house of israel to bring the kingdom again to rehoboam the son of solomon so they said look we ain't having this we about to get on man we bout to go fight against our brothers to bring the honor and the kingship back to make everybody one nation but watch this verse 22 but the word of the lord came unto shamaya the the man of god saying speak unto jeroboam i mean ray obam the son of solomon king of judah and unto all the house of judah and benjamin and to the remnant of the people saying thus saith the lord you shall not go up nor fight against your brethren the children of israel return every man to his tent for this thing is from me the lord says that thy hearken therefore they hearken therefore to the word of the lord and return to depart according to the word of the lord so yes this was the split in israel jeroboam got the 10 tribes rehoboam got the other two tribes judah and benjamin levi was a part of the ten tribes that was now with jeroboam okay verse 25 then jeroboam built um shechem in the in mount ephraim and dwelt therein and went out from thence and built penuel and jeroboam said in in his heart now shall the kingdom return to the house of david so he was saying look red bomb ain't got nothing to do um now the real kingdom gonna return to the house of david uh verse 27 if this people go up to do sacrifice in the house of the lord at jerusalem then shall the heart of this people turn again unto their lord this is him thinking in his in his spirit even a terrer born king of judah because he was in jerusalem and they shall kill me and go again to rehoboam king of judah so they remembered rare born remember i mean jeroboam remembered that there was a law that we had to go to jerusalem three times a year to do uh to keep the feasts and to do sacrifices and all of this thing all right so um jeroboam is saying if they go up to jerusalem to keep the feasts and to do sacrifices they're going to put me to death because they're going to remember this is where we're supposed to be in the house of the lord doing sacrifices their spirit they're going to be think themselves so jeroboam this is what he did verse 28 whereupon the king took counsel and made two calves of gold and said unto them it is too much for you to go up to jerusalem behold thy god so israel which brought thee up out of the land of egypt so he says behold your gods these are which brought you out of egypt israel and he set the one in bethuel and the other he put in dan so this was right before um they made it to the land of benjamin going into uh jerusalem verse 30 and this thing became a sin for the people went to worship before one even unto dan so they had options before they got to israel he put little worship houses there so they didn't have to go to israel he said it's too far for you to go just burn sacrifices and incense right here and he made a house of high places and made priests of the lowest of the people which were not of the sons of levi so this man jeroboam did whatever he wanted to do he had no regard for levi because levi knew well at that time that they were supposed to serve the lord that they were supposed to give incense and sacrifices in jerusalem that's why he didn't want them rebelling against him or reminding the people to come to jerusalem he set up people that wasn't of the high priest that had nothing of the order of levi and of the basis of men verse 32 and jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month of the 15th day of the month like unto the feast that is in judah and he offered upon the altar so did he and bethuel sacrificing unto the calves that he had made and he placed in bethuel the priests of the high places which he had made so he offered upon the altar which he had made in bethuel the 15th day of the eighth month even the month which he had devised of his own heart he came up with his own high holy days his own feast days that's what these brothers is doing today when you talk about the sunrise sabbath and when you talk about the the uh the new moon or the um sabbath is dictated on this and on a new moon and all of that listen you're throwing the days of the lord off you devise it of your own heart that's the same thing jeroboam was doing any and let's go back verse 33 and ordained a feast unto the children of israel and he offered upon the altar and burnt incense that's what jeroboam did and as you start to see the nation of israel started to decline even more after 40 years of peace that solomon had all right so that's the four chapters for today um i pray that we all got something there was more precepts i could have pulled out for for y'all but uh you know for the sake of time i wanted to slow it down all right i wanted to
