in the philipp morris asian art award 2000. philip morris is one of the biggest um um competition then of the cinema competition then he is also a recipient of the cultural center of the philippines sensibility to many of the manila's galleries [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] makes use of the urban landscapes like this urban landscape [Music] is to bring out or bring art out of this state state-wide galleries and into the daily lives of commuters [Music] [Music] so yeah [Music] urban landscapes so that's uh the style i think artist sneakers are a well-known site so indiana manila and and he also works as a mixed-media photo manipulation okay aside from the sagara patana style neon like photo manipulation mural painting and other stuff so mural painting [Music] uh element so my shapes and lines called loris elements [Music] okay in the philippine art art world and his um visceral multimedia installation so born in 1953 a graduate of fine arts then as program in off university of the east university of the east he worked as a set designer and entrepreneur for several decades so seth designer um [Music] [Applause] [Music] work is well known for his uh use of salvaging with the artists salvaging with the artists using found materials or old recycled parts to create entirely new artworks or new works [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay nineteen years ago so he's 2014 installation about art about the philippines [Music] he employed the use of over ten thousand uh excise excess carabao horns you have some horns carabao ones imagine wine and experimental paintings which plays with texture and color to create image that arrests the viewers eyes mostly satin pagano dinamata gonna force a texture [Music] [Applause] uh notable for his use of colors and texturing in his artwork his paintings are abstracted yeah more abstract paintings and also in and human experiences by experimenting with composition champlain [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] pieces are set apart by his use of different techniques styles and media in order to put together images that are disjointed and unified at the same time [Applause] yeah just like this [Music] is [Music] one of this generation of artists uh technical masters uh and her work is well known for both uh adherence to the real life form and for its ability to challenge the viewers yeah she graduated from the university of the philippines with a major uh with a major in painting my guitar [Music] and perhaps moon most known for her ability to force her viewers to question ideas of authorship reproduction and joint end point of view um [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] painting [Music] uh this playfulness of exploring the dynamic between subject and viewer has been present throughout her career [Music] based on [Music] known for combining a variety of different media and explores new themes materials and concepts in his artwork ethan contemporary artists uh [Music] in different media including photography sculptures and installations and he's particularly known for his work so edited surrounding the human form by layering usually separate styles such as graffiti cartoon and cartoons and photorealism he highlights the multiple and sometimes conflicting identities that make up the philippines
