2025 Toyota Camry Test Drive Insights

Adam here from the Walsner Automotive Group and what I want to do today is take you on a test drive. So next to me here I have a 2025 Toyota Camry. We'll look at the interior, the exterior, some of the trim level options and then see what it's like out on the road.

Okay, so now we're behind the wheel of the Toyota Camry and I've got my cell phone with me as we always do. And this one is going to have wireless charging. Now there's four different trim levels with the Camry. This one we have here today is the XLE and this does have a premium plus package. added in as well, so we'll cover a little bit more of that when we're on the go.

But let's put it in drive, go for a spin around. Now that we're out on the road here, this one again is the all-wheel drive. So it's got the 232 horsepower, and this one will return 46 mpg in the city and 46 mpg on the highway.

Now if you want the most fuel efficient model, that would be the front wheel drive. So that would dip into the 50s for fuel economy, which is pretty awesome. And again, these are just hybrid options.

So it's a 2.5 liter four-cylinder with a couple different hybrid motors. But you know, when last year there was an available hybrid or in the previous generation, this one's just going to come standard with the hybrid powertrain because Toyota figured people want the great fuel economy. Price is going to be a little bit more, but not drastically different.

You can kind of hear some of the beeping going on. Now what is that? That's the Toyota Safety Sense.

So this vehicle has a ton of safety features built in. Things like out in front of me with the heads-up display in this particular trim level, you're gonna have blind spot monitoring, emergency braking. You heard when I was going to merge out onto the road, this gave me a traffic notification.

So I could tell from my left, maybe a little bit out of my blind spot, that there was traffic approaching. Maybe you can't see, it's a tight corner, you're trying to pull out around a building. those are all really great safety features.

Now one of my favorite safety features in the Toyota lineup is going to be the adaptive cruise control. So I can set four 3-2-1 car length distances ahead of me, as I'm cruising down the road here I've got a lane departure warning so it will set that, and this particular one also gets the auto lane change. So if you're eating up a lot of highway miles that is a really cool feature, paired with that lane departure warning that When I turn this on, I've got everything set up.

I'm just cruising. And that active drive support system is going to keep you, and if your family is in the vehicle, very safe. Now, how is the ride and drive?

There's a little bit sportier suspension once you get up to higher trim levels of the Camry, but it's great. It kind of proves to me that not everybody maybe needs a crossover SUV. If you're looking for a ton of space, you got the whole family with you, maybe then it makes sense to jump up to probably a Highlander or a RAV4.

But if you're thinking 95% of the time, it's just you in the car, you're cruising back and forth to work, heading to the grocery store, any of that stuff. I mean, even with the family, the Camry has a ton of room back there. So what's cool is the drive is quiet. It's comfortable. This particular XLE also has a little bit different glass for the front windows.

So it's extremely quiet when you're on the road. Now, from the exterior styling, this is the supersonic red. So there's some pretty cool colors you can get.

and it kind of goes to a two-tone because on the top it's going to be blacked out because this one gets the panoramic sunroof it is such an awesome feature especially with the lighter interior it opens it up so nicely it just looks cool in here and it really does provide a lot of light for those rear passengers so if you got the kiddos back there they're definitely gonna like that feature now again speaking of the rear seat you will have air vents just underneath the center armrest here And there is going to be USB charging in the back so everybody can keep their devices charged up. Now, up front, like I said, I've got the wireless charging down here. And I've got a couple of USB-Cs and a regular USB charger. So there's more than enough charging capability when you're on the go. And with the infotainment screen here, this is going to be the larger one.

So the standard one in the base model is going to be a little bit smaller at about an 8-inch. This goes to the 12.3-inch infotainment screen. This has got wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

I paired my phone in about 30 seconds and it is awesome. Google Maps, Spotify, text messaging, everything is built in there. And with the steering wheel, if you press and hold, you can access Siri. So you're never messing with your phone when you're on the go.

Now, the backup camera in here is also pretty great. It's really going to help you out in a pinch. This XLE also gets the surround view camera. So you'll notice little mirror cameras here underneath the side view mirror out front and then in the back.

So you get a 360 look and there's actually a button you can press over here when you're going slow or stopped and that's going to show you a bird's eye view of the vehicle. That's pretty cool if the kids left something in the driveway or not sure if you can't see around something that feature will definitely help you out. Now the base model is going to have the cloth interior where this one will have a leather pointed seat. Now these are going to be heated as well as ventilated. It is hot today I think it's about 80 degrees outside.

So when I hopped in, you click the auto button for the dual zone climate control, and you can also turn on that ventilated seat, which is awesome. It is one of those, again, features that once you have, it's pretty hard to give it up, but the best one is the heated steering wheel. So you can actually do it to an auto or a high or low setting. That is so good.

I know winter is soon approaching. So when you got the heated seats, the heated steering wheel, and this particular one also gets the digital key. So you can remote start the vehicle.

There's so much good stuff that's gonna prepare you for winter in the Camry, plus with the all-wheel drive. This would make a pretty excellent Minnesota winter vehicle for tackling those extra snowy and cold days. Now, what about the interior from the driver's seat?

These seats are very comfortable. Now, their power, as well as being memory on this particular one, it's great. I mean, the seated position is good. You can see around the vehicle.

There's no blind spots. These pillars are a little bit thinner as well. So sometimes some of these cars get those huge pillars and it's really hard to see out of the right or left side, but the windows in here are huge. And then with the blind spot monitoring on the side view mirrors, that definitely helps out as well.

But that is one of the things with these smaller SUVs. It's hard to see. They're sometimes hard to park, especially if you get up to the larger SUVs. This Camry, it feels like you're driving a little go-kart around.

It just fits in where you need to go, and with that awesome backup camera, it really does make a difference. So obviously the Toyota Camry has been around for a long time and is one of the best-selling vehicles ever just because of that fact that it's reliable, it runs, it's comfortable, everything in here works how it should. There's no confusion if you were to hand someone the key. They press the button when they hop in, they put it in drive, and they're off and running. There's no goofy buttons, there's no goofy infotainment screen, there's a volume knob still on here.

So, I mean, it just is such a user-friendly vehicle. Toyota has it. always done such a really great job of there's a reason there's a billion Toyotas on the road.

That's because they just work. Great fuel economy, tons of equipment inside, and now we have to touch on the price point. So this particular one comes in at $41,500. So again, this is a higher tier trim level. You're going to have the XLE and the XSE towards the top.

So if you don't want as much of this equipment, maybe you don't need the ventilated seats or you don't want the leather trim seats in here. there's certainly options to keep that price down as it does start around that $30,000 price range. Now, there's certainly a way to keep the price down if you choose.

If you want to go to the base model, if you don't want all the equipment, obviously you can go that route. But once you have it all, it's pretty tough to give it up. When the panoramic sunroof's open, you've got the Apple CarPlay hooked up wirelessly and all this great safety equipment and comfort. I mean, this is a lot of car for the money.

The average new car price right now, I think is $48,000. So this is giving you a ton of great equipment. Like I said, the heated steering wheel, the ventilated seats, the wireless carplay, and all the space.

And I mean, every design element of this car is well thought out. If you pop the trunk, it's a huge amount of space. And you can also pull a little handle to fold the seats down. If you absolutely need to haul something a little bit larger, it could certainly help you out in a pinch. But I mean, you could easily set a couple sets of golf clubs back there and have extra room.

But I mean, it's comfortable. it it's really hard to argue with anything i don't like about this vehicle I mean, the fuel economy is great, the hybrid system, now this paired to the CVT, you put your foot down, it's not the fastest thing in the world, but for, like I said, 95% of the time, it gets you up and moving into traffic, and returning 46 miles per gallon is definitely pretty awesome. But I like the appointments in here too.

It's kind of a diamond design, but it's like a cloth that runs onto the dash, onto the door cards, it's really pretty cool, and it works very nicely together. Kind of the black and the lighter tan that runs from the seats to the dash. it all does look really well and the design element of the screen going into the vents is pretty cool now this one also gets the JBL sound system so that is definitely an upgrade from the bass sound system sounds pretty good in here when I had my Spotify hooked up earlier whether you're listening to podcasts or jamming out when you're on the road that is a pretty cool upgrade as well so overall Great fuel economy, great equipment in here, great style and looks. I didn't even touch on the digital gauge cluster.

You can pretty much configure that any way you want. You can set the left side to see what you want, the right side. I mean, it really does show you your eco and power as well as the EV charging. So it will drop into just an electric mode with that hybrid system.

You can use the EV mode or the eco, normal and sport modes. So if you want to save some of that EV power, you can, or if you want to just put it in EV mode, like I did now. dead silent in here. It's quiet, you're off and running, and again you're not using any fuel when you're in that mode, and then when it needs it, if I put my foot down, you can hear the four-cylinder kicks back in and gives you plenty of power and torque. So overall, if you're looking for something that's fuel efficient, that looks awesome now.

The new style on the 25 is such a great design exterior-wise. I love the wheels, they match so nicely with everything. So like I said, I can't think of anything I don't like about the Camry.

It just works. There's a reason there's so many of them on the road, and they run for so long because of the reliability you get with Toyota and the style and good looks that I think you got to get out, take one for a spin, and see what you think. Now, that was just a brief look and drive in the 25 Toyota Camry.
