name it and claim it pull down your blessing blab it and grab it whatever you want to say right you are little gods or just declare it decree I declare I decree right I I told you guys about my dad doing some of this as well but he repented so it is extremely extremely evil right I want to be healthy I want to be wealthy and that's why it's so attractive and that's why as a younger Christian I fell into it do you realize people have been hurt before being in churches being slain in the spirit where older people have been set quote unquote pushed down to see said to a guy in this church that he will be healed from cancer he died a few weeks after that hey guys Allan here and I'm so very excited to be with my friend my brother in Christ my co-laborer in the word of God Daniel meritz AKA dlm Christian lifestyle my brother how are you doing today man it's good to be here thank you yeah yeah hey guys um so awesome guys he came in from California to spend the weekend with me and my wife Jennifer his wife is back at home with my wife they're spending time we've had an amazing weekend but we came together because we share a very common passion we love the word of God we love sound biblical Theology and we want to make sure that we are always creating content that would help you stay in line with good Theology and use discernment to determine uh theology that might take you off course so one of the most dangerous teachings that are going around and has been around for a while is the hyper charismatic movement Word of Faith Prosperity Gospel all those are kind of tied together to some degree so we both have different experiences in our life uh as it relates to the hyper charismatic movement we're going to talk about that in this particular video so just to be clear and set up the outline for this video what we're going to talk about is first and foremost what is it right so what is that and also who are the main people that promote the hyper charismatic movement so you can understand who they are also guys how to recognize this what are the signs that when you start seeing these things happen in your church you'll say oh man that is my church moving in a direction that it doesn't need to go and then also why is it so dangerous right I mean like what's the big deal why is it so dangerous to follow this movement and then finally we're going to talk about how do you find balance between what I call the poverty gospel and the Prosperity Gospel we'll talk about that as well so Daniel my brother um tell us a little bit about what exactly do we mean when we refer to the hyper charismatic movement all right all right well it's nice to be here with you guys and um I moved from South Africa just recently to California and it's great to be here in Texas of all old places but um the hyper Charismatic Church in South Africa might be a little bit different to what you guys have here but there are a lot of connection so first of all it's when the church overemphasize the gifts of the Spirit right and while they do that they focus on health and wealth preaching as well so when I talk about the overemphasizing of the gifts of the spirit it's laying in the spirit you know laugh in the spirit being drunk in this the spirit and they they use the gift of the tongs wrong as well there there's a few things we can talk about here but it is so dangerous here and we'll talk about this more but it is why it's so dangerous is because it is counterfeit gifts not used by the Holy Spirit and it might be made up as well because people want to make money out of people who fall for the tricks of these people who just deceive and we we can go into it but that's in a nutshell what it is about yeah yeah and also um we were talking yesterday about this whole idea of focusing on self life right focusing on life the self life versus the spirit right a lot of their teachings it's all about you getting what you want from God focusing on yourself right as opposed to the spirit so um so okay so now that we kind of have an idea because there's charismatic churches and there's hyper charismatic right this kind of goes above and beyond like he's he mentioned who are some of the main people that um promote this hyper charismatic movement yeah so someone who's popular I think that most of you will know Benny Hinn uh Kenneth copelan um these are oh man and and what you will see how to identify them is that they have a lot of money and it's all about money for them um maybe you can mention a few as well you know a little bit more of the people here in America yeah I mean there's Joyce Meyer you know and and when I say Joyce Meer I'm not talking about you know she's full-blown all the way in but if you look at some of her teachings I have a whole video on my YouTube channel where I talk about that but she has um promoted a different times in her Ministry this whole idea of prosperity you can even go to her website right and look at some of her affirmations and you can see that she promotes this idea of Prosperity Gospel and things of that nature crlo dollar uh clearly uh is a uh member of the word faith uh as a matter of fact he I believe was Kenneth Hagen's uh Protege or Kenneth Copeland's prote or whatever and then TD Jakes might even dabble into that as well so right so yeah so that's the idea guys so so Daniel I'm GNA ask question so as we talk about these people so what's the difference between a pastor who is prosperous versus a pastor who promotes Prosperity so right I mean is it a sin for a pastor to to to have money to be prosperous uh how does they find the line between okay I Pros I I experiencing Prosperity or I'm promoting or preaching prosperity right well first of all let me make this clear there's a very big difference here because it's all about God's will right so it might be God's will for someone to be rich and that means a church as well because He blesses this church so that they can do missionary work or do a lot of different things so there's a responsibility here as well when we look at how people use the money and so if if you have money you can do God's work with that right if he blesses you with it but but if you're a Prosperity preacher and that is your focus and you just want to preach health and wealth because you want money and it's all about the self that we talked about earlier you know the world is already full of self self respect self um selfishness right selfconfidence self-confidence self this self that but the word of God says that you have to deny yourself pick up your cross and follow me and there's a lot of Christians who are moving away from that these preachers as well it's all about what they can gain they want to worship God because of what he can do for them not because they are lost they need a savior and because they want to delve into his word and live righteously and holy so there's a difference there yeah yeah so one of the scriptures that we want to talk about guys and and as you all know if you've subscribed to Daniel you subscribe to me you know that we are heavy into the word of God we believe that's what you need so we're going to give you a lot of scripture in this uh uh particular video so one of them is second Peter 2 1-3 so I'm going to read it but at any time as I'm reading this if you want stop and kind of break down and I might do the same we're just going to kind of co- te today guys we're just kind of going off the cuff here all right so second Peter but false prophets also arose among the people just as there will be false teachers among you so right there let's stop right there we are not necessarily talking about people outside of the church right we're talking about people inside of the church even Paul said even Savage wolves among you will arise right so we're talking about people who sound very very true they sound like they are using the word of God they actually are using the word of God but improperly so it says false teachers among you and here it is who will secretly bring in destructive heresies secretly right the touch on that yeah they they're very clever the way they do this because they take verses out of context and what is interesting is the way that the devil you know attempted Jesus as well and Jesus would answer him with scripture every single time you know so was this battle between uh basically the truth so the problem that they do here is that when they bring in these destructive heresies they will focus on the selflife they will take certain verses and they would interpret it the way they want to and they would make you believe that it is what the Bible says and it is dangerous if you are not a spiritually mature Christian who do not know scripture because then you won't be able to discern between truth and lies and it is dangerous for especially young Christians as well who just come to Faith and if they fall for these people yeah you you got to know the word of God to be able to discern yeah and we're going to point out several of the scriptures some of the most popular scriptures that they use in like to twist a little bit later on this video so that when you start hearing these taught in a way that's not accurate with the word uh and not consistent with the word you you're you're radar will go off and you realize okay this is false teaching so let's continue even denying the master who bought them bringing upon themselves Swift destruction so that's going to let us know guys that these false teachers they Bible was very clear that they are headed for Swift destruction that God has marked them uh and Daniel and I are of the firm belief that many of these people may not even be saved all right uh if they're preaching this type of thing they may not even be saved and it says and many will follow their sensuality which lets us know that there are so many and we see that today guys we have some of these uh Prosperity preachers and they have hundreds thousands millions of people following millions of people supporting their Ministries and it's just because they're bringing these secret destructive heresies and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed that is key and I know Daniel probably wants to comment on this because of these false preachers how many of you have ever seen people or heard people say I don't want to have anything to do with Christianity I don't want to be a Christian I don't want to go to church because they've had a bad experience with some of these false prophets these false preachers false teachers and as it says because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed it's turning people away from the truth right and you know it's it's like it's like rat poison right I don't know if you know this but it's about 95% of it is good food is the 5% that kills you little le le the Hol lump right so they use truth and they bring in the destructive heresies and that's why people believe it that's why this is so dangerous yeah totally and then it says and in their greed they will exploit you with false words this is important in their greed right we know the Bible is very clearly against the greed of money right and so first of all I just want to mention this a clear sign is if some of these pastors or preachers when they have Jets to fly around with they don't need that right even Jesus himself you know when he went into Jerusalem he went on the donkey he didn't go on a nice beautiful horse right and he walked a lot of places so um it's because of their greed that they will exploit you with false words and he and we'll touch on this a little bit later because they will tell you that if you give them money God will bless you even if you use the little bit that you have you have to trust through faith that if you give this money then God is going to bless you and so they actually steal money from a lot of people mhm but let me stop there because we're going to continue continue in into it a little bit more later yeah yeah so you hit on this a little bit earlier but what are some of the the signs or indicators right so let's say I'm watching this video and I'm at a church right now what are some of the things that if I see these things happening in my church or at a church service my radar should go up because this is clearly hyper charismatic you mentioned some of them earlier but go ahead and uh give us a little bit uh more breakdown on some of these all right so if you go to these churches you will see that they will misuse the gifts of the Spirit so we're talking about slaying the spirit drunk in the spirit right Laughing crazy in the spirit some these people make noises you know like dogs and things and it just Bible if you if you read the Bible there is order in the church right and what you will see with these churches is there's Disorder so an example of that is using the gift of speaking in tongues in the wrong way as well so everybody starts speaking tongues there's no one that interprets it the Bible is very clear Alan there needs to be two or three people that interpret it as well right there's always order in the church and then you will see that they have this um what they call is they they speak things into existence by using the faith Force so in a sense they think they're a little God so you'll have the little God's Theory as well so they speak and then God has to jump and make what they want happen instead of God speaking and then they jump yeah yeah guys and and there's so much so much to that we we'll kind of dig into a little bit but yeah I mean you know it's so clear and what boggles me so much is I don't understand how someone can call themselves a teacher of the word of God and how do you clearly read 1 Corinthians 14 which clearly says if someone speaks in tongues there must be at most two or three so not 500 people speaking in Tong two or three at a time each taking a turn right and then there must be someone to interpret yeah how do you read that and then as a pastor encourage everybody in the church to pray in their prayer language and everybody's praying and nobody knows what anyone is saying and then if there is someone there to interpret which 99% of the time there's not you don't even know if the interpretation that they've given is accurate or not so it's just this misuse and as Daniel said earlier this overemphasis and this idea of being slain in the spirit guys I'm telling you take it from me there is no such thing being slain in spirit there's no example of that happening in the early church there's no biblical support at all for people being slain in the spirit uh you need to run away from that people will say I'm against the supernatural that's not it yeah right do you realize people have been hurt before being in churches being slain in the spirit where older people have been set quote unquote pushed down and they get they their back hurts something or or they they fall on somebody else like this is not order yeah yeah it's not and and I want to add to that because I grew up with my dad doing that for a while so never in scripture do people fall backwards if they do fall it's forward but then in worship of God right they are of sound mind as well always right they don't they're not just unconscious um there some of these churches where people start to take off clothes and these kind of strange things as as well but while they emphasize on the gifts of the Spirit and this is important their whole theology is mostly based on health and wealth as well and that's why they attract so many people because people want health and wealth that's why they're there yes they pray upon PE two people's greatest two Desires in life right I want to be healthy I want to be wealthy and that's why it's so attractive and that's why as a younger Christian I fell into it and that's why so many people watching this video you've fallen into because they keep giving you these promises which we're going to look at some scriptures that this is what God has for you because this is God's promise all right so let's keep going on so let's let's let's move forward with the with speaking things into existence right using the faith Force right uh speaking things into existence uh you know the little God's Doctrine declaring and decreeing you hear these little key words that's why we're giving you these key words name it and claim it right pull down your blessing blab it and grab it whatever you want to say right but you are little gods or just declare it I declare I decree right I speak this into existence let me just go on record and say this very quickly guys if you look at the scripture that says speaking those things that are not as though they are that's a great example of how a scripture can be taken out of context if you look at that scripture it's in Romans I believe it's in Romans it talks about uh and God causes those things that are not to be as if they are the passage there is talking about how God opened up Sarah's womb to be able to enable her to have children when she was previously Barren and it said it is God who is able to call those things that are not as though they are yeah it's not talking about us being able to call anything into it the passage clearly says it was God that said your womb is empty and Barren I'm going to call that which is that is not as if it is so that's an example guys don't just go on these cliche these Christian cliches oh I'm going to call those things that are not as though they are I'm speaking into exist it's not biblical yes yeah fully agree agree with that um what I would like to do is I'll I want to read something here a little bit because I believe God questions explains it very very well so this is what they they basically believe God created human beings in his literal physical image as little Gods before the fall humans had the potential to call things into existence by using listen the faith Force sounds almost like something like a Jedi you know may the faith force be you yeah and then it says after the fall we humans took on Satan's nature and lost the ability to call things into existence in order to correct the situation Jesus Christ gave up his divinity and became a man died spiritually took Satan's nature upon himself went to hell was born again and rose from the dead with God's nature after this Jesus went after this Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to replicate the Incarnation in Believers so that they could become little Gods as God had originally intended wow there's a lot of problems with that yes and and we don't have a lot of time to to to fully explain this but we are not Gods I just have to say that very quickly nowhere in scripture does it say that we are little gods and the the whole focus of the Bible is to focus on Jesus Christ that's why scripture says you have to deny yourself pick up your cross and follow Jesus if you want to be a true disciple and yet this whole gospel is focused on the self life yeah yeah totally all right so guys let's let's transition a little bit and let's talk a little bit about what are some of the key scriptures that you might hear being preached from the pulpit or from a Evangelistic service or a crusade or something like that that they like to twist to try to convince you that you need to give money and you'll be you know blessed as a result of that so I'm going to let you take the first one all right sure uh Mark 12 41-44 all right the famous story of the of the Widow you want to read it or I'll read it yeah I like scripture uh we need to get back into the word of God in these days so Mark 12:41 says and he sat down opposite the treasury and watch the people putting money into the offering box so this is Jesus many rich people put in large sums and a poor Widow came and put in two small copper coins which make a penny and he called his disciples to him and said to them truly I say to you this poor Widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box my goodness and I just want to quickly stop there because they would preach this and then there would be poor widows and people who are poor and they would they would need fincial help and then they think okay if my faith is enough I'm going to use the little bit of money that I have and I'm going to give this to God so they're being deceived because they're not giving it to God they're giving it to these false teachers to fly in Plains and live in mansions so it is extremely extremely evil the last sentence here for they all contributed out of their abundance but she out of her poverty wow has put in everything she had all she had to live on now I just want to mention there you know if if God calls you to do certain things through the Holy Spirit and you obey even if it's your last money if you give everything up for him that is awesome that is what God calls us to do with certain things in our lives right to comp to reach that point of complete surrender but when these false teachers do it and they deceive people to do it that is that is why I think also scripture says you know for these false preachers the deepest depths of hell are prepared mhm yeah yeah I mean guys and you can see how a scripture like this can be twisted it's like oh she gave all that she had she gave out of her poverty and these other people gave out of their abundance and so you should follow the same and do the same thing yeah all right so that's that's a problem all right so the next one I'll I'll cover in briefly is just the whole idea of Malachi 3:10 you know will a man rob god well how do we rob God by tithes and offerings I call you to bring the whole tithe in the storehouse that there may be food in my house test me in this and see if I don't open up the floodgates of heaven and pour out a blessing so rich that you will not be able to to receive it right so this is painting the picture that there's a transactional relationship with God and it's also painting the false picture that if you tithe you're going to be um that you're going to be guaranteed that God's going to open up the windows of heaven and pour out such a huge blessing that you're not going to have any room to receive it right not realizing once again taking this out of context I have a whole other video on my Channel that I posted recently about why tithing is unbiblical right now if you want to give 10 % that's biblical but this idea that you must tithe and if you don't you're cursed with a curse like Malachi says and that if you give 99.9% God is angry with you and if you give 10% you never have to grow and never give anything more than 10% all of that it's Old Testament it's it's caught up under the Old Testament law we are under grace giving and so uh they like to use that scripture as well yeah yeah we're not under the law of sin and death anymore scripture says we're under the law of the Holy Spirit now so that means everything you do needs to be within the will of God how the Holy Spirit leads you so for some people he might lead you to give money some people not all right so let's take the next one all right this is a good one that they like to use John 1413 and 14 yes it says whatever you ask in my name this is Jesus talking this I will do that the father may be glorified in the son if you ask me anything in my name I will do it so here the use just the name of God and it says in the name of Jesus or I speak it I declare in the name of Jesus that is not what it means to truly use you know the name of God what it means here is you need to abide in Christ you need to ask things within his will so it means that you can go to God you can ask him about everything right financial help or health we can ask that from God and then we get an answer from him right so we pray within his will and if it is within his will he will make it happen and if he also confirmed that he will make it happen we can trust in his promises and we can know it will happen so this is very clear speaking within the name of Jesus meaning just praying within his will abiding in him this is so important to understand because we can do nothing without Jesus Christ right abide in me right uh you want to add to that yeah well I mean yeah it's just the same idea like being in his name right asking something in his name means according to his will right and and so we can't claim to always know exactly what his will is but just simply saying I ask this in his name Jesus is not making a blanket promised to everyone if that was the case I could say oh Lord you know give me a private jet in his name in jesus' name right and then it would happen so clearly he's not speaking literally here where he says ask me anything and just tag in Jesus name onto the prayer and it's going to happen so another one guys we've talked a lot about money right the wealth part but remember there's two aspects of this false Doctrine the health and wealth right and so one of the scriptures they like to use to try to suggest that every Christian is guaranteed um to be healthy is the good oldfashioned Isaiah 535 which says but he was wounded for our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities the chastisement for his for our peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed right and and so they love to quote this and without doing careful exeresis and not realizing that if you trace the meaning and the usage of the word healed throughout the entire book of Isaiah you will not find it being used to refer to physical healing and it's talking about uh Salvation like a nation being healed of its backsliding right or a nation that is turned away from God and God says I will heal you of your backsliding or hey I will heal you of this but it's not talking about physical healing now I will say physical healing is included in this but not guaranteed for this life in other words Jesus did die so that we would be fully healed but it doesn't mean that we're promised to be fully healed on this side of Heaven it just means ultimately we all will be fully healed whether it's in this life or in the next life right so yes there's it's truth in that and that's what I meant to say earlier guys for many of these false teachings and false teachers there's just enough truth sprinkled in like you said with the rat poisoning that it sounds good but when you really break it down and you start to study the script for yourself when you use discernment you understand sound theology you realize that there this is really a misappropriation of the scriptures and this is a great example of it it is definitely not God's will for us to always be healthy right because this world is not perfect this life is a series of ups and downs it's a lot of UPS some people have financial problems other people have problems but in all of these difficulties in life the purpose is for God to work on us right we have to endure it he is the Potter we are the clay and he says that we will go through trials and tribulations but it is in that time that we can still have joy and peace in him we will never have a perfect life in this world yeah that's so awesome okay there's so many other scriptures God we can point to but for lack for the sake of time we're going to point one more Daniel I'm have you read Luke 6:38 and we can just talk about this one as well sure all right give and it will be given to you good measure press down shaken together running over will be put into your lap for with the measure you use it will be measured back to you oh man yeah here here they press on people to give a lot right because if you give a lot and more then God will also bless you of a lot more so that's why these people are so rich because people give a lot right and it is so sad because then a lot of them don't get it back right because there was never God's will for them in the beginning to give to these false teachers and then they start to turn on God and and wonder well what's what's wrong why is God not blessing me or they look at themselves and think think but my faith there's something wrong with my faith MH it is it is evil I'll just say that again it is extremely evil yeah yeah and and I'm going to add to that guys because somebody might be asking and watching this video so brother Allan brother Daniel how do I interpret that then because it clearly says given it would be given unto you so help me out like how do I read that and interpret guys here's the thing yes I firmly believe in what Paul said right if you sow sparingly you reap sparingly if you sow bountifully you reap bountifully but it doesn't always come back to us in a financial monetary way right I truly do believe in the law of reap sewing and reaping it's biblical it's scriptural right which is why I don't believe God wants to put a cap on 10% because if you are limiting yourself to 10% you're saying well what if what if God wants to bless you by giving you can give 20% now that doesn't mean you're going to get 20% back financially it could mean that you get a job that you weren't looking for it could mean that somebody in your family gets healed it could mean that somebody blesses you with a car it could mean that you have a long life it could mean that you have a peace of mind it could mean that your child gets into a school that they apply for I don't know but leave it up to God to determine how he wants to give it back to you how he wants to bless you that's his business our job is to just seow and not just seow because we were told to but to give from a cheerful spirit and leave how God wants to bless us back in return and not demanded the difference between these two teachings what I just taught in the prosperity gospels is that they're saying that if you give money God's going to give it right back to you and oftentimes tenfold so you give a dollar you get $10 you give $100 you're going to get $1,000 no it doesn't work exactly like that right and I'll just add to that you know scripture says very clearly that you ask and you do not receive because you ask wrongly to spend it on your passions your desires so this is on the self life because a lot of people these people they want to give because they want the money to spend it on their Pleasures so that is wrong and God doesn't allow us to just get everything we ask for even if we look at Paul you know he asked God three times to take away the thorns in the side and God said no my grace is sufficient for you yeah all right so let's transition a little bit guys and let's talk about why this is dangerous we're going to kind of go through these a little bit quickly but uh let's talk about some key things the reasons why this is so dangerous for us as Christians and so um the first one would be you you hinted on it a little bit ago so let's just talk about it this idea that well be if I didn't get what I wanted from God it must mean that I don't have enough Faith there's something wrong with my faith in other words it creates this false guilt talk a little bit about that yeah people are sick you know and and there are people who are really unhealthy and struggling with certain health conditions for a long time but then they go to these churches and they really man this is again this is so evil and and I think it is it is for God it is also painful to see it but these people they go they go to these churches and then they have these uh health conditions and then they they name it and claim it in Jesus name and they they they do everything that they can and then God doesn't do what these preachers say he will do and then they Wonder well it's either two things it's either my fault or God's fault some of them they if they think all right it can't be God's fault because God is perfect they look at themselves and then they don't understand what is wrong with me my faith must not be enough because it is the name it didn't claim it you know they're using the faith Force so if you have enough Faith you know say in my name I will give it to you so then you think all right so how can I what is wrong and then they go years and then they walk with this and they never feel good enough instead of reading scripture understanding you know that all of us even Alan and me if we look at ourselves or even who someone who turned Christian now you know we are being justified by God we are Christians God sees us exactly the same way and then we just grow in faith and then we learn to abide in Christ and ask within his will and if it is his will he will give it to us if not there's a reason he why he allows certain things in our lives to test us to work on our character and here's the thing a lot of us don't want God to do that and we we're not content if he allows it in our lives but we need to be content because it's not about our lives anymore right like Paul says I don't live anymore but Christ lives in me my whole life is now Christ deny the the self right pick up your cross follow Jesus it's all about him so I am willing to endure hardships I'm sure you are as well for the sake of Christ because this world is temporary and a lot of these people in these pastors they focus just on this world as if it is everything you can die tomorrow two of my brothers died and then they stand in front of God so we need to change our way and our perspective understanding we will always have a life of ups and downs but God is faithful and he will give us what we need to endure hardships so that we can grow closer to him yeah yeah I love that I love that so Daniel mentioned it either two different directions either it must be my fault he talked about that now I'm going to take the other one it must be God's fault right and so now there's others who say I know I had enough faith I had people praying I had people trusting I know it wasn't my faith so God it must be your fault so now I am wanting to leave the church even leave the faith because God promised he was going to do something for me according to them and he didn't do it and so therefore God I'm giving up on you I'm giving up on my faith and guys there are so many people who have deconstructed and this is one of the reasons why because God allowed my loved one to pass away God allowed this negative thing to happen in my life and so therefore God doesn't love me anymore guys listen let me ask you a question and this is going to sound insensitive but I just want to ask if you've experienced loss for some reason in your life I want to I want to just come alongside you and say I I you know I I love you God loves you if you've experienced this loss um may God comfort you but just because your loved one lost was was uh just because your loved one was was lost right and you lost your loved one does that mean that Jesus didn't rise from the dead you see what I'm saying like you can't jump from okay God allowed this person to to pass away so that means that 2,000 years ago Jesus didn't rise from the dead no for Christianity to not be true you you it's not about just proving that someone passed away before their time you have to prove that Jesus Christ didn't rise from the dead so before you leave the faith because something negative happened to you that's truly what Christianity is built on is that so uh with that being said let's let's let's talk a little bit about um this idea of progressive revelation and kind of how they uh there's some scriptures in the Old Testament particularly Jeremiah that we were going to look at um that talk about this idea that God is speaking to me right because that's a key aspect to this conversation about uh the word faith movement it's this this focus on uh a progressive revelation or extra biblical Revelation which is the idea that God is speaking to me outside of scripture and sometimes uh in in conflict with scripture but God is giving me something new something new and and you'll hear them God gave me this God dropped this in my spirit God gave me a new revelation for the body of Christ today guys when you hear any of that type of stuff run because there is no new revelation matter of fact what's my shirt say oh Sol is crystas I'm wearing the wrong shirt I meant to wear the shirt Sola scriptura right only scripture nothing extra so there's a couple scriptures that we're going to read D I'm have you read J Jeremiah 14:14 first all right all right let's do it and the Lord said to me the prophets are prophesying lies in my name and this is the Old Testament I did not send them nor did I command them or speak to them they are prophesying to you a lying Vision worthless divination and the deceit of their own minds wow yes uh I agree 100% run the other way you know we are not saying that God cannot speak to you he speaks to us today right through the Holy Spirit you know we can confirm it you know friend can send you a message and then you read the same passage in the Bible you go to church and he preaches the same thing and you can discern it with the holy spirit that gives you peace and discernment you know but this is a little bit different right right because here they make things up or it is also counterfeit I I'll can I share a very quick story I know we're out of time no you're good my so I I told you guys about my dad doing some of this as well but he repented and then um he he started to focus on the word of God and preached it and someone asked him to come and help out with a church because there was this lady who started to prophesied and the future and they were starting to go away from scripture and start to follow this woman and they just want the prophecies the problem was she started to prophesy about things that will happen in the future but then they did not come true that's one big sign that it's not from God because if God says something will happen it will always happen so see said to a guy in this church that he will be healed from cancer he died a few weeks after that and then my dad went as well and the woman was saying well that's what God told me you know and he said well scripture says you have to test the spirits right and they prayed and they test the spirits and then a demon manifested he had to drive out the demon deinition telling the future and then she lost the gift as well so be very careful okay so there's a couple other scriptures in Jeremiah that I'm going to read very very quickly Jeremiah 23:16 all right you really need to read the whole chapter jeremi Jeremiah 23 it's all about false prophets thus says the Lord of hosts do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you filling you with vain hopes they speak visions of their own minds not from the mouth of the Lord okay let me give you a little context here because this is important we're Bible students here on this channel right so what what what Jeremiah is talking about here is um at the time of this writing the God had um allowed the nation of Israel and Judah to be taken into captivity into Babylon and there were prophets at that time that were telling the people hey either a they were telling the people this isn't going to happen before it happened like hey this isn't going to happen no no uh it's going to be peaceful or they were prophesying lies that shortly after they got over there that God was going to bring them right back and so don't worry about it and this is the reason why Jeremiah 2911 right he had to come back and say hey no you need to get comfortable in Babylon cuz you're going to be there for 70 years you need to get comfortable you need to pray for the welfare of the City you need to uh to make sure that you have children in this land and you need to make sure you do uh you know do well for the city and all this stuff because you're going to be there for 70 years but these prophets were coming along and giving these people false hopes that they God was was going to return them back and God it's like no no no right don't listen to them and that's the same thing that's happening today filling people up with false hopes you give this you'll have some money you give this you'll experience this type a blessing in your life let me read one more Jeremiah 23:25 through 27 I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in my name saying I have dreamed I have dreamed how long shall there be lies in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies and who prophesy the deceit of Their Own Heart who think to make my people forget my name by their dreams that they tell one another even as their fathers forgot my name for baale this is a big thing as well because then people start to forget about God his word and they start to focus on these spiritual gifts a lot more and then you start to see their sin underneath as well this person sleeping with that person and this um you you shared a testimony uh on my channel as well with someone doing that and making sexual advances as well a pastor doing that so you can it's extremely dangerous when they start to move away from scripture and the thing is if you don't follow scripture what are you doing you're starting to have a religion that's made up that's in your own head or from false spirits that are teaching you false doctrines so it's very dangerous yeah all right guys so this video is obviously really long so we're going to transition now and focus a little bit more on you guys right so um so let's finish with this question so how should a Christian approach God whenever they genuinely want God to do something for them right I mean they have a genuine need a genuine concern a genuine request uh how should they approach God because I know you've heard this before where some people will make the idea that if you pray and you say well if it's God's will then you pretty much negated the whole prayer because that is a sign of weak Faith you should never pray if it's God's will just pray in faith so what is your response to that well I'll say very quickly well if that's true what about Jesus then that prayed before the time you know let this cup pass from me but not my will but your your will be done that's Jesus himself right so that's how we have to live as well because we are not God we can't see the future we can't see all the Ripple effects of our actions but God can and Proverbs 3:5 is a very good example of that where it says that you have to trust in God with all your heart and it says there do not do not lean on your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths yeah totally so once again it's not weak Faith to uh sayl this is what I'm asking for I'm laying it all out but Lord I don't claim to have Divine infinite knowledge so if it be your will let this pass right uh another one is this stay away from the demanding the decreeing the declaring right stay away from that language you can't decree you can't declare can't demand anything come humbly to the Lord right come asking him give him your request as a matter of fact um the Bible talks about that it says um uh it says do not be anxious for anything but in all things through prayer and supplication all things all things God invites us to bring every concern that we have to him not in some things but in all things and he wants us right he wants that relationship with us it's it's a Contin conversation and then he says there Philippians 4: 6 right and seven and says and then the peace of God will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus that's amazing because it means even if you go through difficult times you can still have peace and joy in Christ because you know and he connected with other verses you let the Bible interpret the Bible right so you connected with Romans uh 8:28 that says that God will work all things together for good to those who are called according to his purpose so that means not everything will be good on its own right everything together so it's like making a cake you know if you just eat the salt or the flour is not good but if you throw it together with some chocolate and stuff you have a beautiful cake that is our lives in Christ yeah yeah and I want to focus on one final thing guys before we bring this video to close because sometimes it's easy for us to um air on one side of the I don't know what it is about Christians that we many of us we we we kind of like extremes right and so there one of the extremes is the Prosperity Gospel and that's the idea that God has promised that every Christian should be healthy and wealthy and you just you're totally consumed with it right but there's this other extreme that I really want to talk about I'm going to call it the poverty gospel and that's this idea that the poorer you are in Christ the better bigger badge of honor you'll get the greater rewards you'll have in heaven because if you're poor that means you have to trust God more you have to have enough faith and this that and the other so we want to make sure that we have a balanced approach to finance Prosperity because there's examples of people in the scripture that God blessed financially abundantly right Joseph of ARA who had a rich tomb that Jesus was buried in you have Lydia who was rich you have David and Solomon the Old Testament and never were they condemned for being rich right so the issue is not prosperity and being rich the issue is how we handle it and I want to read a very important scripture to kind of bring this to a close it's 1 Timothy 6:17 through 19 and I want you to notice here it says As for the rich in this present age so I want you to notice that Paul is not condemning those who are rich right he's actually telling them if you are rich this is how you need to approach it or this is how you need to handle it he's not saying don't be rich but he says charge them not to be hoty or arrogant or flaunting it so don't live a life where everything you do is all about show and that's what you see with a lot of these prosperity preachers is that you know if they do have a nice car they roll up in the at the church with you know this stuff or or they have uh I don't know these gold tip shoes that everybody can look be like oh that that's those shoes cost 10 $3,000 or you know they have this extremely fancy clothing that basically draws more attention to themselves and takes the glory away from God so don't be arrogant people should have to wonder people should have to find out that you're a millionaire they shouldn't be able to look at you and tell that you're a millionaire they should be shocked oh he's a millionaire I would never have known that's how it should be right and then it says not to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches so now it's talking about the idea of where is your trust is your trust more in your riches or in the God who can provide these riches it says but on God who richly provides us with everything to enjoy I like that because this tells us that if God has blessed you with riches enjoy it right it's a blessing and don't don't downplay it don't make excuses for it just be have a be u in other words just enjoy it because it's a blessing right but then I love this they are to do good to be rich in Good Works to be generous and ready to share that's about four different ways Paul said it yeah do good be rich in Good Works be generous and ready to share yeah so if God has blessed you with riches man give it away and bless other people yeah he will bless people with great minds with great visions and he might give you a really good business he might not call you to you know just stop working go do disciple work in somewhere in Asia but he will bless you financially because he wants you to use that money responsibly for his kingdom so when you know there are online preachers maybe even Allan or or other Ministries but the holy spirit is telling you you need to help this person financially then you need to do that there's a responsibility here but you can enjoy it as well if God gives it to you not on the fleshly self right because that's why it's so difficult for people who are rich to truly be Disciples of Christ and be willing to fully surrender all their money all their belongings we look at the Bible verse of the camel through the eye of the needle that's so difficult right um um but if you are rich if you have money where does it come from in the first place yeah from God so how does he want you to use it that's something that you need to take close the the door go into your room pray about it and handle it correctly because this life here on Earth is short you're but a vapor the one day you're here the next you are gone you can't take any of that money with you at all then you stand in front of Christ and you are going to be judged absolutely finish reading this and then we're going to close it up thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future do you know that if God has blessed you with riches and you give it away and you're generous and you do good works with it God's saying hey you're storing up for yourself and a a a a treasure because that means you were a good Steward with what I've blessed you with and and you are simply a conduit through which I can get a blessing to someone else through you so I've blessed you to be a blessing to other people and then Hebrews 13:5 keep your life free from the from Love of Money and be content with what you have for he has said I will never leave you nor forsake you I want you to to just kind of close and just uh give some final thoughts to that scripture um well that scripture and a little bit of what we've said you know his will was for John the Baptist to live in the wilderness not to be rich right so the first question you need to examine yourself is are you content with what God gives you your purpose that he has for you but in the other other hand you have Solomon right who who was rich he had everything he desired at the end of his life he said all is Vanity right so what I want to say here is if you have a love for money you're in big trouble your love should be for Jesus Christ he's the priority of your life all you need is him and uh Matthew 6:33 said that you have to put God first right seek his uh Kingdom and his righteousness put that first and then he will give you everything else that you need so God will give you equip you what you need to do what he wants you to do all you need to do is to live in faith abide in Christ and do what he wants you to do financially if he gives you a lot of money or not the gifts that you have the talents that you have the family around you everything that you have comes from God and it's this continual relationship where you do everything for him yeah and then I want to end on this guys how do I know if I have this Love of Money problem guys it's really simple when you check your heart and you look at how much time time goes into being consumed with getting more and more like when you compare how much time do you spend with God or how much time do you spend trying to figure out ways to get more and more money how much of your mind is on the things of the spirit and things of God versus how can I get more and more money like the the parable about the man who had all these Barns and instead of uh being content with that he tore all his barns down and said I'll just build some more right it's like this constant need for more and more and more and not just resting in the blessing that God has for you there's nothing wrong with trying to earn a good income and and trying to earn more money we're not trying to paint that picture you should you should be you know try try to make uh your family comfortable and the Bible talks about being able to leave an inheritance for your children's children so there's nothing wrong with that that's great it's when it becomes your God that's why Jesus said you cannot serve God and money right and when that happens uh there's no room for God in your heart so uh hopefully you guys enjoyed this video it's probably a little bit longer
