Hey, guys ! Welcome to Greece Explained ! Sebastian here ! I'm a tour guide in Athens. And, today, we're talking about Athens' best budget accommodation. As usual, we're going to divide Athens into these seven neighborhoods. If this is the first time you see this map, then, it means you first need to watch my video on "Where to stay in Athens". I won't be mentioning specific prices throughout the video since they're all pretty similar. Everything is between €50 and €100 a night. And mind that these are prices for high season. So, if you come during shoulder season or during the winter, it's going to be even cheaper. And, as usual, if you want to book one of these places, I'm going to leave you some links down below. Alright, let's start with Psyri. Psyri is one of the cheapest neighborhoods of Athens. So, there are quite a few budget hotels there. First, there's "Athensotel". It's a four star. And their amenities are pretty extensive. They have a gym, a sauna and a rooftop sun deck with a jacuzzi. Next, we have the "Live in Athens Psyri Central Apartments". These are apartments. So, you also have your own kitchen inside. If you're ready to spend a bit more, for €150 a night, you can book the panoramic penthouse, which has a balcony with the Acropolis view. Next, there's the "To Stay Loft". These are Studios. So, one large room with both the bed and the kitchen/living room. And they have this very nice rooftop where you can have your breakfast, if you want. Next, we have the "To Stay Aristofanous". These are five separate apartments. And some of them have a little balcony, like you see here. Very nice ! Then, there's the "Raise Boutique Rooms". This is a hotel with six rooms. And all of them are very affordable. Next, we have this guest house called "Suite 203 by the Acropolis". Very cozy place and, of course, since this is a guest house, this means there's only one to be rented. And at a price of €75 per night, you can trust me when I say it's selling out quickly ! Then there's the "Pella Inn Hostel", which is one of the only decently priced hostels of Athens. Many hostels in Athens are like €40-50 per person, which, in my opinion, is way too much ! This hostel is €20 per person. And, if you want a separate room, that's also possible. And that will cost you around €75. And guess what ? This place also has a rooftop with the Acropolis view ! For that price, it's pretty surprising ! Alright, this was for Psyri. Let's move on to Monastiraki, now. There are not many budget hotels in that area. So, there's only one I will talk about. And that's the "Kimon Athens Hotel" located in this very cute alley. And look ! Acropolis view from this little shared terrace ! Alright. Now, let's talk about the City Center. First, there's "Triple A-Kolokotroni 62", which is a series of modern studios with a tiny kitchen included. Then, there's "Concierge Downtown". They have four studios which are very cheap for the city center standards. And this rooftop is a nice to have. Next, we have the "Leonidas Loft", which is a guest house that sleeps up to five people and features this large balcony. So, let's move on to Syntagma, now. First there's the "Apollonos Studio". It's an apartment located just one block away from Syntagma Square. So, a very prime location. Then, we have the "Ermou Stylish Suites", which are two separate studios, also very affordable. And, then, there's "GK Athens", which are four large studios. Great if you're a family because they can all fit up to four people. Alright, let's talk about Plaka, now. There's only one affordable place in Plaka I found that I want to recommend. And that's this little apartment called "The Acropolitan". Only €60 per night. For Plaka, this is a very good deal ! And now let's talk about my favorite neighborhood, which is Makrygianni. I love this area because it's cheap and it's close to everything. There are five places I want to tell you about. The first one is the "Byronico Acropolis Apartment". A tiny guest house located just next to the Acropolis Museum. And, by the way, this is the cheapest place of the entire video : €50 per night during high season. Next, we have "Zoe's Studio", which are four separate apartments. All around €60 per night. Then, there is this guest house called "Central Spacious Studio in the Heart of Athens" and this other guest house called "Cozy Luminous and Comfy". Both these places go for €55 per night. Similar places in Syntagma would be, at least, a hundred ! That's why I love Makrygianni so much ! And, finally, there's the "Art Gallery Hotel". Simple rooms but the highlight is this balcony, here, with the Acropolis view. Rooms start at €80 per night. Now, don't be surprised ! I won't be mentioning any hotels in Thiseio. There are not many hotels there to start with. And the few hotels that do exist are slightly more upscale. So, definitely not for this video. Now, one big misconception about Athens is that hotels with the Acropolis view are very expensive. And that is not true ! You can easily find a place at €150-170 a night with an amazing Acropolis view ! If you want to know which ones I'm talking about, you can click here. And once my video is ready on the "best day trips" you can go on from Athens, I will link it here. And there you go ! Hope you liked it ! See you in the next one ! Bye !
