Changing Your Mindset

If we are in a bad situation today, because of the wrong decisions, the bad actions that we did in the past. Listen, what you have to do today, listen carefully, get up from the bad. Start to manage your future, to be better. Change your way of thinking, your bad past, your mistakes in the past, cannot determine your future. You may have done bad things, many mistakes you made in the past, things you shouldn't have done, many wrong decisions, but don't hate yourself. Forgive yourself. Reconcile with your past. Sometimes we get angry with ourselves. Why did I do that? Why did I do that? Why did I say that? But God taught me. Just like God forgave us. Forgive yourself. In June Impact Community Indonesia raised the topic, Changing Mindset. Today, I will talk about the right mindset. The right way of thinking. Phillipians 4 verse 8 Let's read it together. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Say, think of all of that. Everything good that we read earlier. whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy That is what we have to think of. Say Amen. Our way of thinking determines our attitude. And our way of thinking will determine our life. Say Amen. If you have the right way of thinking, your life will be right. If your way of thinking is wrong, your life will be wrong. There are people who, whatever good they see, they always see it from a bad angle. No matter how good people are to them, they can always see bad things. No matter how good God is to them, they can always see bad things. People have a point of view. Everyone's point of view determines how they see this life. How they perceive this life. And determines their actions in this life. If we have the right way of thinking, I'll tell you, problems can be a blessing in your life. If you have the right mindset, even problems can be a blessing for you. Say Amen. Every time there is a problem, every time I'm told, Mrs. Henny, you're being told this and that by people, I always respond, Yes, there will be a great blessing coming. We are not always greeted by the churches when we offer for 60 Minutes Worship to bless the city. You know that since 2021, I made a commitment to not accept a preach invite from any church, any company, any family, any conglomerate, any government. And I did it. The ministries invited me, from various ministries, I refused. Regents from various regions, until their messenger came here, forced me to, in quotation marks, to preach, I refused. Because I love you I don't want my life to be like before. Every day, I fly here and there, preach here and there. God spoke to me, at the end of 2019, Henny, what did you build? And I understand today, that I have to give my life to teach, teach and see the changes in life from the people I mentor. Amen. You know that, when we go around, we find that, not all churches like us. Many are disappointed with me, especially, and say this, look, Jojo and Henny finally opened a church. Those words came out, because I was once offered to open a church, I never wanted to, and I once preached at several churches, and said that I didn't want to open a church. Because I really didn't want to. Because I believe that Tangan Pengharapan, is a trust from God And Tangan Pengharapan is the church for me. Because two or three people gather, God is present there. Say Amen. And I see, Tangan Pengharapan bear fruit and become a blessing. But then during the pandemic, God led us to do online worship. And it's not just that, the online congregation grew to 3,000. The cell group became almost 200, Impact Family, online. Imagine, after the church began to be on-site, the congregation began to gather, Mrs. Henny, we want to worship, where can we find you this Sunday? We want to go to church. We don't have a place. So if I say, we are forced by God to have our own congregation, we are forced by God to open a church, I'm not lying. It's not because I want to, but God wants it. Amen. And I was sad when we were rejected. Because actually, what God put in my heart, when God told me not to go around again, is that I have to bless the city. I have to go around, to cities, and not just in one church. I want those who are present, from various churches, various denominations, to bless everyone, whatever the church flag. But, what can I say, it's hard to find a big place, and you know, renting a ballroom in a hotel is expensive. While we bring ICI Worship, there are a lot of people, and we bless them, which means we don't have to pay for the tickets. We don't get a salary from the churches we go to, but ICI has to sow for the cities. We take all the ICI Worship team, we give them salary, and food, hotel, transportation, ICI wants to bless. Amen We are called to make impact. That's why we come to cities, we don't ask for money. Even when we make it in big churches, we don't take the offering, we return it to the church to bless them. Amen We go around Malang, Surabaya, we go around Semarang, even yesterday we went to Bandung, then Bali, and people are blessed. I am grateful for what God has done. We believe that when we hold 60 Minutes Worship, 60 minutes of worship in cities, it burns their fire. Yesterday when we were in Bali, God visited more than 3,000 congregants, some fainted because it was too crowded. Even many went home because they couldn't go in. Many had to sit on the carpet, sit outside, until the house complex was full. We saw how Gthe holy spirit visited them, and what did they say? They were refreshed. They felt like there was a new fire. They hadn't felt like this for a long time. The presence of God was amazing. Even Yeshua Abraham couldn't sing. He just cried on the pulpit. I saw how much the Holy Spirit works, refreshing people whose souls are dry. Amen. You know, when we are rejected, we are sad, but we believe, if humans close the door, God opens the door. Amen. If you have the right way of thinking, you are able to see good things in bad situations. If you truly believe that God is good, you will see, no matter how evil the intention is, God is able to turn it into goodness in your life. I remember when Joseph was in God's process. You know, I read God's word, I found Joseph was arrogant. A spoiled brat. Since he was a kid, he was his father's favorite child. Let's say Jacob, Loves him more than his brothers Given the most beautiful robe And since he was a kid, he had dreams. His dreams were weird. The sheaves of wheat bow down to him, he alone stands upright But the point is, he made his siblings jealous of his dreams. From this, I learned, if you are given a big dream by God, not everyone is ready to hear it. Keep it in your heart. Amen. He was arrogant, he told his siblings, he showed off his beautiful robe God processed his life. So he was picked on by his siblings. Through his siblings, God allowed, he was put into a well. Then he was sold to Egypt. Then he became a servant at Potiphar's house. He was slandered by Potiphar's wife. He was put in jail. I think at that time, Joseph must have felt his big dream was a lie. He must have given up, he thought his life was over. All his dreams were in vain. But when God helped Joseph, started to promote him, lifted him up, translated Pharaoh's dream, he saw God's hand working, lifted his life up. He became the ruler of Egypt, became the second person after Pharaoh. That's when Joseph realized, all the sufferings he went through, was God's process to prepare him. And God's way to send him to his dream. That's why in Genesis 50 verse 20, when Joseph met his siblings again, who once slandered him, put him into a well and sold him, he said, You intended to harm me But, together, God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. See how God brought Joseph, to a level where he was able to see, all his sufferings in the past, was God's way to send him to God's promise in his life. I went through an unhappy childhood. There are still a lot of dark things, that I can't tell in my sermons Because it will be a shock, and hurt my parents' feelings. And maybe the congregation is not mature enough to hear it. But I went through a very dark life. From small to big, stepping on as a teenager Let me tell you, on the one hand, I was once angry with my parents. I felt like I was being treated unfairly. I felt abandoned. I felt priceless. But today, like Joseph, when I was in a place where, God had planned this day for me, and looking back, I realized, that God had prepared me since I was a child. God allowed me to experience, the bad things in my life, to shape me today. If you hear a lot of my sermons, about my experience in life, my growth of faith, is because I have a connection with the Holy Spirit. And how, through the process of life, I grew to know God personally. Be happy in your life today, if you have to go through, a lot of challenges, because that's where your faith will grow. You will see how amazing God is in your life. Amen. I believe that in Romans 8 verse 28, it really happened, that God worked, to bring goodness, in everything. It is said, we know now that God worked, in everything, to bring goodness. Say everything. When we say everything, it means good or bad. When you are treated unfairly, when you are oppressed, when you are used, when you are forced, when you are betrayed, when you are left behind, when you are humiliated. God worked, in everything, to bring goodness. In 2 Corinthians 4 verse 6, it says For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” Say amen. Listen carefully, It is said, in verse 7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. Look carefully, go through all the problems, we realize that, God is the one who helps us, to go through everything. We will never see a miracle, if there is no problem. We will never experience God's mercy, if we never feel, what is called a deficiency. Listen carefully, people will say, I don't want to get sick, to see a miracle, I know. But, there are many things, that we experience in this life, and in the end, we appreciate, God's mercy. Because I had a hard time, I appreciate God's blessings. When I was young, I was a spoiled rich kid, I was loved by my father, I must have been so arrogant, I couldn't appreciate people, I couldn't feel people's hardship, I didn't have empathy, because I was growing up very selfish. I grew up to be a very selfish kid, I prioritized myself. Imagine, how God's plan, would be fulfilled in my life, if I prioritized myself so much. I once told you, when I was still dating Jojo, during the fasting prayer at the church, when the church prepared rice box, I still took two for me and Jojo, before the prayer started. I put it under my chair, so that when after prayer, when they run out of rice box, I still had rice box, for Jojo and me. Imagine how selfish I was. And God's process, which was so difficult, which made me despised, oppressed, humiliated, made me who I am today, and understand, how to appreciate other people, how I can't be a Henny Kristianus, who acts all highly, has fame Today, I don't feel that I'm great. All because of His mercy. Amen. Our life is a blessing. Who are we if not because of God? That's why God's word said, the overwhelming power, comes from God, not from us. Say Amen. If you are blessed today, don't forget yourself. The power you possess to be rich, comes from God. Say Amen. Many people are born from an unharmonious family. They blame their parents, blame their broken home, which makes their life broken. Ruined. I'm not saying, it has no impact. It's true. Our background, the way we were raised, our parents, our bad experiences in the past, the bad behavior of people towards us, will definitely affect the way we think. The way we see ourselves. Our self-confidence. It affects our mental health. It affects the way we think. Of course. But, let me say this. As time goes by, after going through various struggles, various problems, wrong decisions, bad behaviors in the past, we will definitely realize that our past will not determine our future if we don't allow it to happen. In the end, we will realize that our bad past, the bad behavior of our parents and people in the past, will not destroy our future if we want to stop blaming them, stop blaming our past, and start taking responsibility to make the right decision for our future. Jacob 5 verse 9 says this Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! People who always blame other people, for their wrong decisions, for their ruined life, I tell you, it will not change anything. You will not be an adult. You will not be a responsible person. Even though do you know that each of us must be responsible for ourselves in front of God. Romans 14 verse 12, let's read it together and remember this well. 3, 2, 1, Therefore, every one of us will be responsible for himself to God. Your responsibility to God is your own. Say Amen. Say it with me, I am responsible for my life. Do not blame others. Come on, young people whose families are broken homes, stop blaming others. No one will force you to do something if you choose not to do it. I'll give you an example. In the past, I always blame my husband and my friends who always invite me to eat until I get fat. In the past, I like to blame because of the pandemic, I gained 16 kilos. I blame the situation, I blame my husband, I blame my friends, I say, you are poisonous, you are poisonous, I am the one who is poisonous. Listen carefully, one time I met my cousin. He is thin, he looked at me and saw that I was fat. He said this to me. How can you be that fat? I said, yes, my husband. Accompany him to eat. Then he said this. Hey, your husband can't force you to eat if you don't want to eat. It's impossible for him to take food and put it in your mouth. Eat, eat, eat, he said. His words hurt me at that time. I was offended. But it made me realize that I was fat because of my own decision. I was fat because of my choice. I like to eat, I like to eat delicious food. And if it's delicious, it can't be a little, it has to be a lot. Nastar can be half a jar. Pia Duren, two. Kue Lapis, two slices every day. Every day, untill cholesterol. He likes to eat, I followed him. I like to eat aswell It's the same. But see how God opened my mind. Every action, word, and decision that we take. It's our own responsibility. Amen People can't force us if we choose not to. I have a leader in ICI. Her husband loves to eat, her wife is very thin. Her husband loves to eat noodles, she's thin. I see every time they eat, she only has two spoons That's why I told Jojo, if we want to stay thin, if we eat, we order one for two. Amen? I hope we can, honey. Hallelujah. If you like to make me eat, don't make me eat again. Have mercy on us. Every action, word, and decision that we take, there's always a consequence. There's always a responsibility that follows every decision we make. Say amen Galatians 6 verse 5 says, Because everyone will carry their own responsibility. husband and wife hear. If there's a rapture, Jesus comes the second time, God's word say, two people sleep, one is lifted, one is left. If Jojo and I want to be lifted, Amen? Each of your faith. Don't just because your wife likes to pray, you're safe. Faith doesn't hop on We will carry our own responsibility. Let's compete in faith. Compete to be a witness, compete to be an example. If we are in a bad situation today, because of the wrong decisions, the bad actions that we did in the past, listen, let's start to see this life in a different way. Change our way of thinking. Have a positive view, have faith, believe that God is good, He is willing to change everything to be good. Try to see, all of our bitter experiences, teach us what is sweet. All of the bad actions that we receive from others, teach us what is good. Suffering and poverty teach us, what is God's blessing. Amen? Philippians 4 verse 12. The apostle Paul said, I know what is deficiency, and I know what is abundance. In everything and in all things, there is nothing that is a secret for me. Whether in the matter of fullness, or in the matter of hunger, whether in the matter of abundance, or in the matter of deficiency. Say it together, All things I can bear, in Him who gives me strength. You can do it, say it to your left and right You can do it. With Jesus, you can do it. What you have to do today, listen carefully, rise up from the deficiency. Start to manage your future, to be better. Change your way of thinking. Your bad past, your mistakes in the past, cannot determine your future. You may have done bad things, many mistakes you made in the past. Things that you shouldn't have done. Many wrong decisions. But don't hate yourself. Forgive yourself. Reconcile with your past. Forgive yourself. Amen? Sometimes we are angry with ourselves. Why did I do that? Why did I do that? Why did I say that? Why am I like this? Maybe we are angry with our children, and we are angry with the wrong way. I regret every time I remember my mistakes in raising my children. I regret when I remember the mistakes I did to my husband. But God teaches me. Like God forgives us. Forgive yourself. Don't give up on yourself. Don't give up. Don't hate yourself. Reconcile with your past. Proverbs 11 verse 7 says, People who are kind, are good to themselves. Remember, kindness is easy to forgive. We make a lot of mistakes, but you have to forgive yourself. Amen? The important thing is, regret is useless. Repentance determines our future. I repeat, Regret is useless. Repentance will restore us. Isaiah 1 verse 16. Read it together. Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. Verse 19, If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land; Say Amen. We can not cancel what has happened. What's done is done. Look at the past as a valuable lesson for the future. Remember, regret is useless. Repentance will restore us. We cannot change the place where we stand today. But we can determine where we want to go. Philippians 3 verse 13 says, My brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have caught it, but this is what I do. I forget what is behind me, and direct myself to what is in front of me. Say Amen. Say it together. I forget what is behind me, and direct myself to what is in front of me. And run towards the goal, to get the reward. What is our reward? The call of heaven from God in Christ Jesus. I want to finish. Remember, we cannot deny that there are many bad things that might happen in our lives. Problems coming our ways. There are bad things that are not as expected. A failed investment. A failed business. Children who do not grow up to be obedient children. A marriage that is not always harmonious and good. A partner who is not always loyal. Staff who might be a burden to us. Problems, health, finance, problems, relationships, economy, business, anything will come in our lives. This is what will make you strong. You must have faith. Believe that God works in everything, to bring goodness to those who love Him. The key is to live loving God. Then all things will work. Say Amen. Believe that God is faithful, He never leaves us. If you have a positive mind, that God is good, He is faithful, He is just, He will show me a way out. The trials that I have experienced will not overshadow my strength. Believe that God will give you victory. Say Amen. One day, Jesus' disciples asked Jesus about the bad things that happened. A blind man since his birth in John 9 verses 1-3. When Jesus was passing by, He saw a blind man since his birth. His disciples asked Him, Rabbi, who sinned? This man or his parents? So that he was born blind? Jesus answered, read together. Not him, nor his parents. But because God's works must be stated in him. Look, many bad things happened. Honestly, it's God's mystery. We don't know why it happened. But if you believe in God's authority, believe that His plan is the best in your life, you must be sure that in every problem, God wants to work to declare His glory. It is said that God's works must be stated in him. Whatever you face in your life, remember three things, I want you to remember quickly. Be grateful in everything. If you are grateful, you will have a more positive view. You believe that God wants to work Say Amen. 1 Thessalonians 5 verse 18 says, Be grateful in everything. Because that is what God wants in Jesus Christ. Second, believe that God is faithful. Keep saying God's word. Say God's promise. Praise Him, worship Him when you feel weak. 1 Corinthians 10 verse 13 says, The trials that you face are ordinary trials, that do not exceed the power of man. Because God is faithful. Therefore, He will not let you to be tried to exceeding your power. When you are tried, He will give you a way out. Say Amen. So that you can bear it. Even when there is a disease, John 11 verse 4 says, The disease will not bring death, but will declare the glory of God. Say Amen. Because by the disease, God's children will be glorified. Whatever your problem is, let's hold on to God's promise. Say, I believe that you are faithful. I believe that you are faithful. I believe that your promise is faithful. Say Amen. The last one. Facing the struggles. Let's find God's purpose in every struggle. God must have a purpose. Deuteronomy 8:2 says, Remember all the journey that you have done for the will of God, your God in the wilderness for 40 years. With the purpose, to humble your heart, and try you to know what is in your heart. That is, whether you hold on to the command or not. Believe me, if God allows a problem to come into your life, there must be God's purpose there. Ask God, what does God want? I understand. The faster you understand, the faster your problem will be solved. Have faith in God. Humble your heart. Believe that He is faithful. Say thank you. Our life is not always good, but believe that He is good.
