the jabra evolve 75 has been one of jabra's most popular headsets for over four years now but they've updated it with the brand new evolv 2 75 and in this video we're going to compare them and see if it's actually worth doing the upgrade and of course we're going to do our signature noise canceling test with both these headsets so let's get started right now [Music] for those of you that are new here my name is david this is the channel headset advisor where we review and compare all the latest headsets speakerphones and webcams to help you make a better buying decision so consider hitting that subscribe button and notification bell so you don't miss out on future videos now let's start off with design improvements the evolv 75 has a matte black finish with accents of red and while it looked cool at the time now as a lot of products have come out the new evolv 275 just looks more modern and it gives the red trim just a more outdated uh feel as far as the way that it looks the evolv 75 had a unique design where it had a magnetic microphone boom so you can actually attach it uh to the headband itself which was very revolutionary at the time but in using it in practical use the microphone oftentimes got disconnected when you twist the headset and becomes unmagnetized so it was kind of a design flaw with the evolv 75 but with the evolv 275 they've actually made this discreet microphone boom that can easily just fold up and get tucked away a lot easier and it's not going to you know become disconnected from the headset itself and just looks a lot cleaner with the new design they've gone with the weight of the jabra evolve 275 is 4.12 ounces so the evolv 275 is actually heavier by about two ounces which if i can do my math right is about 20 to 30 percent more weight on the evolve 275. so the reason for that is you get almost 36 hours of listening to music on the evolve 275 and 24 hours of talk time whereas in the evolve 75 you get 18 hours of talk time and 17 hours of music listening time so the battery life is almost double depending upon what you're using the headset for and then also the music quality of both the speakers they've really improved it on the evolve to 75 giving you a better audio experience as far as the speakers go as far as technology goes the evolv 75 utilizes bluetooth 4.0 and the evolv 275 utilizes bluetooth 5.2 so you just get better performance out of the newer bluetooth technology and the evolve 275 really captures that improvement on the battery life and also the sound quality improvements the evolv 75 utilizes a uni-directional microphone whereas the evolv 275 actually has eight microphones built into the microphone boom which helps isolate background noise to your voice quality it has four analog and four digital and then of course later on we're going to test with all of our noise canceling tests these two microphones so you can hear for yourself which one actually sounds better and if there is any improvement on the evolv 275 one of the most talked about elements of a headset as far as the design goes is the usb connection on the headset itself and the evolv 75 utilizes a micro usb connection which is not surprising since it is an older design and older technology it uses micro usb whereas the evolv 275 utilizes usbc which for all the reasons it makes it easier to connect it's faster recharge and better quality when plugged in as a wired headset so that's always a nice design improvement now the big reason that the evolv 75 is popular is because it has active noise cancellation which allows you to really block out the background noise around you and focus in on your work your phone calls or your video meetings so if you have barking dogs when you're working from home it helps block out what you actually hear in your environment now the evolve 275 this is where they've made some big leaps not only did they increase the size of the ear cushions so it does more passive noise cancellation which just means it kind of blocks your ears more from the environment but they also have about five levels of adjustment on your active noise cancellation whereas the evolve 75 only has one it's either on or off and you have five levels with the evolv 275 as well as a feature called hear through so you don't have to take off your headset if you're trying to have a conversation with somebody next to you in addition with the evolve 275 they've actually enabled more features that you can adjust on the jabra direct software that you can download on your computer so you can update the headset of course but you can also change the equalizer on the evolve to 75 more bass more treble depending upon what you like to listen to such as podcasting or you know rap music if you want more bass and you can also adjust things like your active noise cancellation levels and hear through levels through this software now where the evolv 75 you cannot adjust these types of things there's about a 50 dollar price difference between these two headsets you have 293 versus 349 but of course for our loyal viewers and subscribers here on youtube i have a special coupon code for you coupon code jabra all one word that's going to get you a huge discount on these headsets and we will have links in the video description below when you order from our website it helps support this channel allows us to keep making these videos and we really appreciate the support in advance now the question is is it worth the 50 difference or if you already have the evolve 75 is it worth upgrading to the evolv 275 now i'll answer that here later on in this video after we get to the microphone test so that you can hear for yourself how the sound quality of these microphones compare so through all of our noise canceling tests was it an improvement drop your thoughts in the comment section below would love to hear your feedback now the question is is it worth the 50 price tag difference to go with the evolve 275 over the evolve 75. now look they're both available from our website and both are good options but the answer is very simple in my opinion is the evolv 275 is a no-brainer yes and the reason why is the first one and the main one is that microphone they've really done an outstanding job building in those eight microphones built into that noise canceling mic boom as well as the improved uh design where you can fold away your microphone boom and put it into headphone mode without you know the flaws of the previous model of the magnet just kind of not working properly all the time plus you have the latest bluetooth you got the usbc connection and almost double the battery life so overall in my opinion i think it's absolutely worth the upgrade if you're looking to purchase either of these models right out of the gate and of course we have this coupon code jabra the links will be in the video description below and we have a a couple of programs if you're looking for 10 or more of these headsets we have bulk pricing available so you can email info at headsetadvisor.com to learn more about our bulk pricing and number two is if you're looking for ten or more we have a headset as a service plan so for about ten dollars per month you can outfit your entire team and it covers your headset unlimited warranty even if the headset breaks covers the battery the ear cushions that wear out over time are all covered under this plan for a small monthly fee so that's a great option if you're considering that so that's just my two cents those are just my thoughts i appreciate you coming by and watching this video hope you enjoyed it make sure you subscribe to this channel so you don't miss out on future videos and also like the video and if
