foreign ocean there is a point where no land exists for thousands of miles in every direction this point is called the oceanic pole of inaccessibility otherwise known as Point Nemo [Music] it's the most remote place on the planet water temperatures just above freezing point big sea States and mostly lifeless it's a graveyard for spacecraft a laboratory for scientists and a supposed refuge for mythical sea creatures the closest land of the Pitkin Islands to the north motonui and Mary Birdland an unclaimed territory in Antarctica [Music] to find the closest hint of civilization you would have to travel around 2500 miles to reach the nearest inhabited lands foreign [Music] ly the closest people to human beings to point Nemo are the astronauts on board the International Space Station people responding to the call for adventure are drawn to its remoteness for our Sailors it's seen as the last great adventure known to humanity
