Figma just got smarter with Google AI Studio. Okay, so today I want to talk with you about a product from Google. It's called Google AI Studio.
And basically, it's a product from Google that gives developers on any people that want to test AI tools to get experience with the new tools. But what I want to explain to you today that I think will be very important for designers, it is an option in this tool to share the screen and ask the AI model about what we see on the screen. So I will do it with Figma.
when I will share the screen and ask the AI model to help me to make an auto layout and to give me some suggestions about accessibility in my design. So I now select stream real time. And here there is an option to share my screen. I will click on that and select the Chrome tab of Figma.
OK, now I share the screen with the AI model. Can you see my screen now? Yes, I can see your screen.
OK, perfect. I need your help, OK? OK, I'm ready to help.
What do you need? I selected now title and subtitle and I want to add an auto layout. How can I do it?
I see you have two elements selected, the title and the subtitle. To add an auto layout, you will want to click the plus button next to auto layout in the layout section of the right panel. Okay, can you tell me if it's this button?
Yes, that is the auto layout button. It is located on the right panel, under the layout section. So now I want to do another thing. I want that the space between the title and the subtitle will be 8 pixels. How can I do it?
Okay, I see you've added auto layout to the title and subtitle. To adjust the space between them, look for the auto layout section in the right panel, and there will be a number input field with a symbol that looks like a stack of lines. You can change the number in that input field to 8 to set the spacing to 8 pixels. Okay, what is the value now?
The spacing value between the title and subtitle is currently 46 pixels. Okay, so I need to change it here, yes? Yes, you need to change the value in the input field with the stack of lines symbol in the auto layout section to adjust the spacing.
Okay, thank you. Now I like it. I have another question for you.
Okay, I'm ready for your next question. Okay, can you see the card now on the screen? Yes, I can see the card on your screen. Can you find some usability issues on the card? Okay, I can help with that.
One usability issue I noticed is that the button is a gray color, which does not provide enough contrast with the background, and may be difficult to see for some users. Okay, so I need to change this color? Yes, changing the button color would be a good idea.
Okay, from this list of colors, what can I take so it will be better? From that list, black or accent green would be the most accessible options, since they contrast well with the light gray background of the card. Okay, is it now better?
Yes, the black button is much better and provides good contrast. And there is a good contrast between the text and the button? Yes, the text on the button is also white, so it is contrasting well against the new black background.
Okay, thank you very much. You're welcome. Let me know if you have any more questions. So as you can see, I share the screen with the Google AI tool, the AI Studio, and basically it gives me help about questions I had on the design.
Although it will not work always 100% and it has some issues, you can see that in the near future, we'll be able to add this functionality to our products and help users. So instead, call to customer success team, they will talk directly with the AI and the AI will help them. I also think that in the near future, the AI will perform the task as we saw from Claude and OpenAI, the last operator feature they launched. That's all for today, even in the product designer.
