yeah hello viewers yes this is ranana ma'am back again and yes this time is the pros piece which all of you have requested ISC students please don't get disheartened I will be soon coming up actually because of the sweltering heat I was feeling so lethargic so for several days I tried to make up my mind to shoot the video but procrastination tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow that Tomorrow Never Comes so finally I've made up my mind now I'm going to do it today so yes many requests regarding this story with the photographer and this I wouldn't say this piece but this author he's one of my favorites when I was in college also we had one my financial career so it was a very humorous piece and in our exam I had got quite a good marks writing about him and the story so naturally I was very fond of him or still now I have that fondness anyway let's not talk more about that let's focus on the story but before you know what's coming before I start if you have not subscribed to my Channel please do and don't forget to press the like button how do I do it like this don't forget to press the like button if you have liked it and let's [Music] start so do you all have any idea of stepen leok have you read any other stories of him no have you he's a humorous writer all his stories there is humor he tries to make himself as if the victim of some problem and we laugh at his helplessness so same here also with the photographer my financial career also was the was similar where he went to the bank for the first time and he became so nervous and what are the things he did that finally he decided he would never go to the bank again then another was with the astrologer or something he had gone to the astrologer and the astrologer had predicted that he would commit a murder so he wanted to make that prediction true so he kept on searching for victims but none of them died and finally one day when he was returning home and he he finds one fellow in the darkness he finds one fellow leaning at the bridge so he goes from behind and picks up the legs of that fellow and puts him throws him in the waters of the river and the next morning he wanted to go and tell the astrologer that he has fulfilled the prediction but then he reads in the newspaper famous astrologer drowned in such and such River and then he realizes that it is the astrologer whom he had Mur murdered so the man doesn't know so the funny thing is that the man doesn't know that he predicts the futures of others and he doesn't know that he himself will be a victim of it so this one is also quite interesting I want my photograph taken I said so he goes to a photographers Photoshop and he says I want my photograph taken we also do we go to the studio don't we to get us as photograph nowadays to yes you click a selfie with the mobile and all that but for those passport and all that visas and all that you need to be photographed so he went to the photographers that means his studio and he said I want my photograph taken the photographer looked at me without enthusiasm without interest he was a drooping man in a gray so drooping yeah so not a straight person he was a person bent bent person with a dim eye of a natural scientist so not very bright eyes dim eyes of a scientist s natural scientist so they uh they observe nature so natural scientist so he had that type of eyes but there is no need to describe him yeah why should I describe the photographer I've got want to him to take my photograph not to interview him everybody knows what a photographer is like yeah all of us we have visited the photographer at some time of our life or the other so there is no need to describe we know what the photographers look like sit there he said and wait I waited an hour I read the ladies companion for 1912 the girls magazine for 192 and the infants journal for 1888 so these magazines which are very old was Kept For the people who would be waiting so he completed reading all these three which were kept there for infants for girls for ladies but still he's not called inside the studio a long time has elapsed I began to see that I had done an unwarrantable thing in breaking in on the privacy of this man's scientific Pursuits with a face like mine so then he feels that did I disturb him did I intrude into his privacy did I do a wrong thing by getting into his privacy with such a uh ordinary face like mine if my face had been very interesting he would have been interested so did I do the right thing I think I must have done something wrong in coming and telling him to get me photographed so in this way one hour passes after an hour the photographer opened the inner door yes so the door to the studio he opens the inner door come in he said severely I went into the studio so he enters the studio sit down said the photographer so he is as if like a Headmaster of a school I sat down in a beam of sunlight filtered through a sheet of factory cotton hung against the Frosted Skylight so Skylight you have it quite high in the room nowadays the rooms don't have Skylight so there a beam of sunlight enters this studio through the cotton there is a piece of cotton hung there to prevent the light from coming but through that also a ray of sunlight has entered the studio the photographer just see now will now you will find the funny things the way the photographer behaves he seems to be a weird fellow the photographer rolled a machine into the middle of the room and crawled into it from behind so he gets into the machine from the back part of the machine he was only in it a second so he goes inside the machine for a second just enough time enough for one look at me so he goes inside and from there he takes a look at the n and then he was out again immediately he comes out staring at the cotton sheet and the window panes with a hook stick apparently frantic for light and air so he needs light so he is tearing those cotton sheets which he had with which he had covered the Skylight why because he needs more light he needs more air also sorry then he crawled back into the machine again that means when he saw through the machine he most probably felt that there is not sufficient light so that is why he tested the cotton cloth to make the room brighter crawled back into the machine again and Drew a little black cloth over himself so he covers himself with a black cloth this time he was very quiet in there so not for a second last previous time it was for a second and then he comes out why because he was dissatisfied with the light and now he stays there for quite some time he's probably Pro probing the face of the narrator for such a long time I knew he was praying and I kept still why should he go inside and pray inside the machine so he doesn't move when the photographer came out at last he looked very grave and shook his head he looks very serious and CHS is said why because he doesn't find the face satisfactory as he wants it to be he doesn't find the face that your face is quite wrong that is hardly a nice thing to say how can you tell he has not come here for Perfection he has come him to get himself photographed it is not that he will put his face in the photo exhibition he just wants a photograph taken your face is quite wrong and just to tell a person in at his face I know I answered quietly I've always known it so he seems to be a Meek person someone else would have broken his face only for saying your face is quite wrong but this fellow he's a Meek person gentle person so he says yes I've known it all the time he side he means the photographer side I think he said the face would be better 34s full so these are photographic terms 34s full I'm sure sure it would I said enthus enthusiastically so now he feels at least the photographer must have found a way to make my photo look better so when He suggests the face would be better three qus full he also very happily agrees to it for I was glad to find that the man had such a human sight to me yeah he's such a nice person he will make my face appear better that it is first initially he's quite happy with it so would yours in fact yeah so if you also had your face three qus it would have been better how many faces one sees that are apparently Hard narrow limited but the minute you get them 34s full they get wide large almost boundless so when the face is 3/4 of the fil full of the frame so there is a frame 3/4 full it your face will look better otherwise it might look long many people having long narrow limited face but when they are 3/4s full it looks much better so he was giving a lecture but the photographer was in no mood to listen the photographer had ceased to listen he had stopped listening he came over and took my head in his hands and twisted it sideways so he's probing the face I thought he meant to kiss me and I closed my eyes what a weird notion why should the photographer come and kiss you and after all you are also a male so why should he come and kiss but the way he brought his face close to the face of the narrator the narrator felt it in this way most probably he's trying to kiss me so he closes his eyes and waits for the kiss to come but it never comes I was wrong no he didn't intend to kiss me he twisted my face so far as it would go and then stood looking at it yeah and then he looks at the face most probably he's trying to think which angle would look better means if I'm trying to take the photograph from this angle or this angle or that angle which angle would be looking better he sighed again I don't like the head so face gone not are not up to his expectation now head head is also not right then he went back to the machine and took another look open the mouth a little he said I started to do so close it he said quickly open mouth close it then he looked again the ears are bad so he finds fault with each and every part of his face face is bad head is bad ears are bad droop them a little more how can you droop your ears is yourselves you can't do it how can I droop my ear unless I keep on holding to it to make it seem drooping thank you now the eyes roll them under the lids so roll your eyes Under the lids no I can't do it put the hands on the knees please and turn the face just a little upward yeah a little upward yes that's better so this pose maybe uh he feels this is better this pose pleases him now just expand the lungs so and the hump and hump the neck that is just contract the waist ha and twist the hip up towards the elbow What rubbish instructions is he giving for just a photograph to be taken just see the instructions what droop your ears roll your eyes Under under the lids put your hands on your knees turn the face a little upward and then expand your lungs not only that hump the neck and contract the waist twist the hip up towards the elbow how can you twist your hip up towards the elbow all ridiculous things he's saying now after saying so many things giving so many instructions all of them ridiculous and finally what conclusion does he come to I still don't like the face quite like the face it's just a trifle too full the face is too full so he still sticks to his notion 3/4 full would be better I swung myself round on the stool stop I said with emotion but I think with dignity in a emotional but dignified manner he tells stop because he has suffered a lot of humiliation at the hands of the photographer your face being tilted and like this like this what and what not so how long can he endure it this face is my face it is not yours it is mine I lived with it for 40 years and I know it's false I know it is out of drawing I know it wasn't made for me but it is my face and the only one I have yeah so this is my face it might be faulty but it is my face I was conscious of a break in my voice so he becomes very emotional when he gives this speech but I went on such as it is I've learned to love it yeah it is my face for the 40 years of my life I have lived with this face and I have loved it this is my mouth not yours so even if it is faulty it's my mouth and I like it the ears are mine and if your machine is too narrow here I started to rise from the if your machine is too narrow for my face I'm going so he gets up from the seat snck the photographer had pulled a stray the photograph taken so when he was agitated angry and emotional and maybe at that time the expression on his face was light by the photographer and he had been probably waiting for this and he clicks photograph has been taken I could see the machine still staggering from the shock yeah the machine is still moving because suddenly he had pulled the string and taken the photograph I think said the photographer pursing his lips in a pleased smile this is how he does pursing his lips and he's pleased that I caught the features just in a moment of Animation so yes when you seem to be excited and talking about your face that it is mine and all that and that was the right time when I took the photograph so he takes the credit so I said bitingly features a you didn't think I could animate them I suppose but let me see the picture so he is sarcastic and he says yes I CAU the feature features features of the face so you didn't think I could animate them so I didn't do it the features did it but anyway show me the pictures show me my picture oh there's nothing to see yet he said I have to develop the negative First yeah you all know but though it is now becoming an extinct AR very few people click with the camera and then go to the photographers Studio to get it developed it's so easy now clicking you have your mobile and you click it and then immediately you see it and all that edit it then and there yourselves only you don't need the photographer to edit and make you look beautiful oh there is nothing to yeah I'll come back on Saturday I'll let you see a proof of it next Saturday come on Saturday I went back so he goes to the studio the Saturday the photographer beckoned to me made a gesture for him to come I thought he seemed quieter and Graver than before so he feels why is has something gone wrong because he seems more serious than before I think too there was a certain pride in his manner he feels proud that he has been able to make my face look presentable make my photograph look better he unfolded the proof of a large photograph and we both looked at it in silence he is proud and he as he looks at the photograph but the narrator is trying to find the similarity between his face and the photograph is this picture really mine is this Photograph really mine so both of them are looking at the photograph silently for two different reasons the photographer is looking it at it with pride because he he has rectified the errors in the face and made it look much better and the narrator is trying to find out where is are those eyes mine are the ears mine he's trying to find out is it me I asked yes he said quietly it is you and we went on looking at it so again both of them they probe into the photograph he has doubts this is not mine the eyes I said hesitatingly don't look very much like mine no those eyes they don't seem to be mine oh no he answered I have retouched them they come out splendidly don't they yeah so I have corrected the faults of the eyes I've given a retouch to it Finishing Touch to it don't they look so fabulous don't they look brilliant fine I said but surely my eyebrows are not like that so so eye has been retouched the eyebrows retouch no said the photographer with a momentary glance he again looks at the face of the narrator and he looks at the photograph the eyebrows are removed we have a process now the Delight so what is Delite so it is for the put putting the new eyebrows removing the old ones and replacing it with something new for putting it new for putting in new ones you will notice here where we have applied it to carry the hair away from the brow so maybe it was too close so he carries the hair a little higher up I don't like the hair low on the scull yeah so he has moved it a little higher up but that is not how his eyebrows are oh don't you don't don't you I said because the man said I don't like the hair low on the skull so he says oh you don't like don't you no he went on I don't care for it I like to get the hair clear back to the superficies and make out a new brow line yeah I want to make a new brow line I want to remove where your brow was I did that and made a new eyebrow line what about the mouth I said with a bitterness that was lost on the photographer is that mine so he feels that the mouth is also not mine so he sounds irritated he's bitter my eyes not mine eyebrows not mine the mouth not mine but it doesn't affect the photographer his bitterness his irritation doesn't affect the photographer he's proud with what he has done I it's adjusted a little I adjusted the mouth a little yours is too low I found I couldn't use it your mouth is too low so I didn't feel it right to use it so I changed a little the years though strike me as a good likeness they are just like mine yes so only one thing which is just like his is his ears they are his ears they look as if they are his so eyes not his eyebrows not his mouth not his only the ears yes said the photographer thoughtfully that's so but I can fix that all right in the print so he's not satisfied with the ears also he says I'll fix it we have a process now the sulfide Deli Sufi for removing the ears entirely I'll remove entirely your ears and put a better pair of ears I'll see if now this is the height of endurance and the man and the narrator has reached it so he is very angry I had come to take a photograph of mine so that I would give it to my friends to keep and looking at the photograph they would remember me and what has this idiot done he has removed all my features and put something so that face is not mine that is someone else's face what will I do with it so listen I interrupted drawing myself up and animating my features to their full extent and speaking with a withering SCA that should have blasted the man on the spot so now he shows his anger yes in a very exited manner so this man he should have been blasted then and there only listen I came here for a photograph a picture something which mad though it seems would have looked like mine with all my faults it would have looked my photograph my picture I agree it is full of faults but still it is mine and I wanted something of that type where the ears are mine the eyes are mine the mouth is mine I wanted something that would depict my face as Heaven gave it to me yeah so I I wanted something which God has gifted to me I wanted that humble though that gift may have been that gift might have not been very brilliant it might be humble one but still it is mine and I'm happy to have it I wanted something that my friends might keep might keep after my death so when I'm dead and gone looking at my photograph they would remember me think of me to reconcile them to my loss yeah so this would be as if to make up or compensate for the for my loss I'm dead but the photograph will be there that would remind them of me it seems I was mistaken what I wanted is no longer done yeah so I wanted my photograph not with with my faults facial faults but not something Immaculate but something which is not mine I did not want something like this if I give this photo to my friends so when I'm dead and gone would it have any impact because this is something different go go on then with your brutal work why does he call the photographers work brutal work because he has removed the facial features and put some someone's ears or some ear some nose some some mouth some eyebrows so nothing similar and the only thing that was similar was the ears and he says that yes I will remove the ears entirely and then put a new set of yours take your negative or whatever it is you call it dip it in sulfide bromide oxide cowhide anything you like so he's become very angry so sulfide and Deli are the terms the photographer had used so he says dip it in any damn thing I don't care so whether you dip it in sulfide or bromide oxide cide cide means the skin of the cow so whatever you do remove the eyes correct the mouth adjust the face restore the lips reanimate the neck tie and reconstruct the waste coat so whatever you want go on doing go on doing go on doing I don't care I'm not concerned and I am not going to take also this Photograph because nothing is mine so why should I accept it coat it with an inch of gloss shade it emboss it gild it till you till even you acknowledge that it is finished finally you feel yes I've done all the corrections all the editing that is needed all the corrections that is needed finally go on doing till then then when you have done all that keep it for yourself but don't give it to me keep it for yourself and your friends give it to your friends not mine I had come for a photograph which I wanted to give to my friends but what's the use of giving this Photograph where nothing is mine they may value it yes you give it to your friends your friends would value this one but I don't to me it is but a worthless Bobble it's nothing but a worthless thing I broke into tears and left so he's become very emotional and he leaves the place with tears in his eyes and all very sad and very emotional he leaves the place so this is funny yes why we are laughing at the cost of the narrator because the photographer he is trying to make it a perfect as if it is a perfect specimen to be given in some exhibition but the man has some sentimental value attached to his face even if it is faulty my nose is like this but still it is my nose I wouldn't want a pointed one so yes my face there may be many faults but I would to me this is this is my face and I wouldn't want to exchange it for some perfect features because that would mean nothing to me this face means and this is the same with the narrator in spite of his faulty face it was his he had been with this face for the 40 Years of his life it was a gift from God it might be a humble gift but it was his and he wanted the photograph to give to his friends who would cherish the photograph after his death also they would look at it fondly and remember him Tred his pres trying to make up for his loss and what is this man doing the photographer he has in trying to rectify the faults of his face he has made it a completely different face which has no similarity to the face of this person so this is where the story comes to an end and what is the theme so the theme of original Self the faulty face and the distorted self distorted self by the photographer so he takes a the dig at the photographer and yes we should be able to accept our originality yes this this is my face it has FS so what I don't care it is mine so originality should be accepted and our face is a gift from God and you have no right to find faults or to humiliate me make me feel ashamed of my face you don't have the right to do it so looking at the face don't judge a person my face might be faulty but I might not be a faulty person so look delve deep into me to understand me Don't Judge Me by the nose or the eyes or the ears so because this is The Superficial appearance outward appearance outward appearance can often be deceptive so we should respect our face the one which we have received from God and yes finally initially he agrees to whatever the photographer says but finally he regains his uh dignity and he blasts out at the photographer and leaves the place in disgust so here you can get character sketches regarding the questions only two characters one of the Nar and the other of the photographer and prepare regarding the title title is very appropriate because he had gone on a gone to visit the photographer for his photograph taken so with the photographer is a very appropriate title so this is it and I think I have made it Crystal Clear if you have any questions you can write to me in the comment section and now bye for the time being and don't forget this yes
