welcome back to watching god with your host
watchful today i want to answer how jesus is the root and offspring of david especially
if mary was a virgin the answer to this riddle and why it matters so what is the riddle
the riddle comes from matthew 22 41-46 i'm going to read from the amplified bible now
while the pharisees were gathered together jesus asked them a question what do you think of the
christ whose son is he they said to him the son of david jesus asked them how is it then that david
by the inspiration of the spirit calls him lord saying the lord said to my lord sit at my right
hand until i put your enemies under your feet so then if david calls him lord how is he
david's son no one was able to say a word to him and answer nor from that day on did anyone dare to
question him again so that's that's um from psalms 110 one i believe and um it's kind of confusing
to read but what it's saying is basically um the father said to the son sit at my right
hand until i put your enemies under your feet so here's a simplified rephrasing of the riddle
what do you think of the christ whose son is he so that's jesus asking them and then the pharisees
respond the son of david and then jesus says if david calls him the messiah how is he david's son
okay so that's the riddle how is he david's son if he's also david's messiah or savior or lord
most explanations say it's spiritual or that it's a legal adoption that's that's how they try to
explain how he is david's son its son by adoption um which is why there are two bloodlines
recorded for jesus through joseph and mary but being adopted being the adopted son of
joseph gave him the right to inherit david's earthly throne but that only answers how he is the
offspring of david not the roots and that's what we're going to focus on here to understand the
riddle we need to understand bloodlines especially chromosomes understanding the y chromosome so
males receive one x chromosome from their mother who has two x chromosomes and a y chromosome from
their father who has one x and one y chromosome the chromosome doesn't change except if
there's an alteration due to a mutation if there's no alteration then the same chromosome
your great grandfather got from his father will be passed on to your grandfather
and your father and finally on to you so you can see in this illustration we
have the great grandfather grandfather father and son so the great grandfather inherits
the y from his father they all of these sons inherit the y from their father and then they
inherit one they inherit an x from their mother so one x chromosome from their mother and one
chromosome from their father now notice over here that there are no y chromosomes from the mother's
line it doesn't come from here doesn't come from here doesn't come from here it only comes through
the father this is trace this is how lineage is traced through the male bloodline so this is
jesus's genealogy and this is clearly documented throughout the bible so all the way from adam
to jesus you've got um these are the sons so you can trace the basically the y chromosome
from these guys all the way to king david and then going through nathan all the way
over here to eli you have mary's bloodline and then through solomon to joseph you have
joseph's bloodline both of them traced back to king david however since jesus since jesus was
born to mary who was a virgin meaning she hadn't known any man they hadn't conceived together
to produce a child they hadn't been together where did jesus's y chromosome come from king
david was descended from adam he had the same unchanged y chromosome as adam after the fall
and i emphasize after the fall because that's the vital piece of information here is king
david had the same sinful bloodline as adam if jesus had been the offspring of both mary
and joseph he would have inherited that same y chromosome as adam and david he would not have
been spotless or sinless he would not have been considered this the lamb without blemish the the
the spotless lamb in order to have innocent blood he had to inherit a different y chromosome
than joseph's so to understand where that came from we have to go back to the very beginning
bear with me here man is formed from the dust of the ground in genesis 2 7 it says and the
lord god formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath
of life and man became a living soul so the breath of life the thing to notice here
is the breath of life is in the blood and this is reiterated in leviticus 17 where it lays out how
we get forgiveness of sin so this is moses talking to aaron about how blood how blood cleanses sin
and we'll pick it up here in leviticus 17 10. any man from the house of israel or any stranger
living temporarily among you who eats any blood against that person i shall set my face and i
will cut him off from his people for the life of the flesh is in the blood and i have given it to
you on the altar to make atonement for your souls for it is the blood that makes atonement by
reason of the life now remember god breathed into adam the breath of life and the leviticus says
the life of the flesh is in the blood and it's the atonement by reason of the blight life that
makes atonement for sin so it's no secret that blood carries oxygen the breath of life throughout
the body without that we die pretty simple right interesting to note so continuing on after adam
was formed from the dust of the ground he was the one who god commanded not to eat of the tree he
was also the one that god said would die in the day that he eats thereof and this all happened
before eve was even formed so let's read this so genesis 2 16 and the lord god commanded the man
saying of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat but of the tree of knowledge of good
and evil thou shalt not eat of it for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die and
the lord god said it is not good that man should be alone i will make for him a help me so what's
important to note here is god tells him thou shalt not eat of it for in the day thou eatest
thereof thou shalt surely die he's telling adam this right so adam bears the responsibility for
obeying this command from god sin is defined as disobeying god's word when you're told from told
from god to do something or not to do something it is sin to do the opposite so adam was told not to
eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and when he did he would die not the woman him
just emphasizing that because it's important so woman was formed from the rib before adam
sinned so i'm picking this up in genesis 2 20 but for adam there was not found in help meat
for him and the lord god caused a deep sleep to fall upon adam and he slept and he took one of his
ribs and closed up the flesh instead thereof and the rib which the lord god had taken from man made
he a woman and brought her unto the man and adam said this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my
flesh she shall be called woman because she was taken out of man therefore shall a man leave his
father and mother and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh so here we have eve
who's not named eve yet but the woman we have the woman who was formed from adam she was not
formed from the dust of the ground she was formed from adam adam was formed from the dust of the
grounds and this all happened before adam sinned so just to kind of set the the ground bring
this back to chromosomes this is what uh male and female dna look like so the only difference
between men and women are the x are what they call the sex chromosomes the x y men have x y females
have x x now it doesn't take a rocket scientist rocket scientist to realize here that the x x
chromosome has more information than the x y chromosome um i'm not going to go into details on
that but it's plain to see that the x y chromosome is simpler than the xx chromosome so i would make
the leap to say that all the information needed to make a y chromosome is probably here that'll
be important here in a minute so it was after the fall adam was the sinner and cursed until
death so let's read this so this is after adam was formed from the dust the woman was formed
from his rib and now we're going to talk about sin and the lord god said unto the serpent because
thou hast done this thou art cursed above all cattle and above every beast of the
field upon thy belly shalt thou go and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life
and i will put enmity between thee and the woman and between thy seed and her seed it shall
bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel unto the woman he said i will greatly
multiply thy sorrow and thy conception in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children and thy
desire shall be to thy husband and he shall rule over thee notice there's no curse for women
only sorrow which you could argue as a curse it's not the same as adam though because she she
only disobeyed her husband she didn't disobey god so you could argue that she didn't disobey god's
law that's for another another day though um and picking up here in 17 and unto adam he said
because this is god speaking to adam and unto adam he said because thou hast hearkened unto the voice
of thy wife and hast eaten of the tree of which i commanded thee saying thou shalt not eat of it
cursed is the ground for thy sake in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life thorns
also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee and thou shalt eat the herb of the field and the sweat
of thy face shalt thou eat bread till thou return unto the ground for out of it what's thou taken
for dust thou art and unto dust shalt thou return and adam called his wife's name eve because she
was the mother of all living a couple of things to note here she was named after this not before and
she was because she was the mother of all living meaning there were children before the sin i'm
putting that there as seeds for a future video maybe something that you could look into
yourself as it relates to what the sin actually was but i'm not here to focus on what
the sin was only the effect that it had so adam is the one who disobeyed god he was the one
responsible for the sin therefore it was him who had sinned not the woman so that's important
because his children inherited that same sin this is how sin whether whether it had a physical
effect on the bloodline or whether it was just the result of david (I meant to say Adam here) and
his progeny um being condemned i don't know but all signs point to david (adam) and his progeny
are are the reason why um everybody as a sinner as because our just the genetics were cursed by
that failing to obey god in the very beginning so why is the rib important so the rib is the only
bone in the body that will regrow i don't remember how much it is that they can they can cut and it
will grow back but there is a significant amount of rib that can be cut out of
the body and it will regrow the rib is one of about five locations
where stem cells can be harvested from and science has recently discovered that sperm
can be formed from bone marrow stem cells they've done successful experiments with mice
and if you want to look up more about this just look up the new scientists bone stem cells turned
into primitive sperm cells there's quite this is quite a deep rabbit hole you can go into but
that basically indicates that it's possible and so this is why i'm pointing this out
because i believe that this answers and is further evidence for one of the most important
beliefs that we can all have who is jesus christ so before we get into that what are stem cells
a stem cell um is a cell with a potential to form many of the different cell types found in
the body when stem cells divide they can form more stem cells or other stems or other cells
that can perform specialized bodies embryonic stem cells have the potential to form a complete person
whereas adult stem cells can only form certain types of specialized cells stem cells continue
to divide as long as the individual remains alive i think this is important to note because mary was
14 years old when jesus was conceived i don't know at what point stem cells can no longer be used
to form an entire individual but i would say i would venture to guess that it's
probably um in young people and the reason i bring this up is this so this is
my little chart for charting out chromosomes to show how they how jesus is both the root and
the offspring of david so what we have here is we have adam and this is his xy chromosome but
so before before he sinned and disobeyed god god formed eve right she took the rib out of
adam and he used that rib and he formed eve who has xx chromosomes right here we have
this is this is sinless and this is the root of eve the root of eve is the rib and remember
ribs contain bone marrow the bone marrow contains stem cells and stem cells can be used to form
an entire body science has proven this there's no question there's no argument in that regard so
but after adam sinned his bloodline whether there was something physically done to his blood or
whether it was just a condemnation on his lineage his bloodline is now considered sinful i know i
spelled sinful wrong here but i wanted it to say full of sin so all of the men remember what we
said about chromosomes men always inherit the same y chromosome from their father so that
same y chromosome passed all the way through everybody to david right so david
had the same y chromosome as adam likewise david's children so here on nathan's
side and here on solomon's side also carried that same y chromosome all the way so on
mary's side all the way over here to eli and on joseph's side all the way to joseph
however i put a big line here because joseph was only the adoptive father of jesus
christ he was not for lack of a better term the spurn sperm donor i know that's horrible but to
push the point that um jesus was not the result of mary and joseph but something else so we
know that women have two x chromosomes and we know that the woman was formed from
the man using the rib so it's not that far of a stretch to say that god could have so
i so here let me preface this i had i've had this question for a very long time more than 40
years where did the sperm come from for jesus i through my conversation through
my schooling and through my study i i had just assumed it was created right that
god created that sperm when he overshadowed mary it's interesting though to make that assumption
because god doesn't do very many he doesn't create much i don't remember the study but suffice it to
say my understanding of create to create something is to bring into existence something which never
existed before so sperm and dna existed before so he would not have he wouldn't
have created the sperm just like eve wasn't formed from the dust to the ground
she didn't need to because he had already put all the work into adam all he had to do was take
the rib suffice it to say it was less work to form her from the rib than it would be to
form her from the dust of the ground so it's i'm making an assumption here but i think
it's a plausible explanation for understanding the root of david so my my my understanding of
this is that god didn't need to create that sperm all he had to do was form those stem cells that
were in mary's rib into a sperm and combine it with her egg in order to make jesus now what
that would have done is that would have given jesus a new y chromosome that was not the same
inherited y chromosome from the bloodline that traced all the way back to adam it would have
been new it would have actually come from adam before there was sin before the condemned
bloodline it would have been a new bloodline but it would have come from that same
material that god originally formed from the dust of the ground you see what i'm
saying here so this is how jesus was the root of david because he was formed from the same
energetic genetic material before sin that was also the basis of david's bloodline
it was just the bloodline before sin and because he was the child of mary he was
the offspring of david now he also was covered from the legal perspective and this is where the
adoption comes in joseph adopted him which gave him the legal right to king david's throne that
all makes sense so jesus had this is how jesus was the root and the offspring of david he
literally was from the same genetic material before sin was in the bloodline that
david came from which is to say adam so a reminder here this is what the dna looks
like the only difference between the x and the y i mean god could have just come in here and
snip that little part off and made that into a sperm for jesus which i think is a much better
explanation than saying than just assuming that god created a sperm brand new with an entirely
different bloodline that doesn't actually god is consistent god doesn't do things unnecessarily and
and also god is perfect it makes more sense i'd always had an issue with him creating the sperm
because to me in my mind that would mean that he to have to create something new means he didn't
write didn't do it right in the very beginning but seeing that he actually protected jesus's
bloodline in women tells me that he he did it all right from the very beginning and it
just goes as a testimony that god is perfect so perfect that he took care of all of this stuff
in the very beginning he didn't need to create a new bloodline he just needed to protect
that sinless bloodline for a period of time so this hopefully you can see that this is why
jesus is called the alpha and the omega the root and offspring of david he's also called the last
adam he's also called the second man now let's go look at those verses so he's called the alpha
omega in revelations so in revelations 1 8 he says this is jesus talking i am alpha and omega now
that makes more sense because he is alpha he's the beginning from adam and the omega he's the end
the beginning and the ending seth the lord who is which is which was and which is to come
the almighty that don't get caught up on that word and try and say that that means that
he's god we're going to cover that a little bit more it just means that he's powerful and he is
ascended now and he is coming he has inherited power and glory and honor that's all that means
that he's inherited power and glory and honor revelations 1 11 saying i am alpha and omega the
first and the lasts and what thou seest write in a book and send it unto the seven churches
which are in asia under ephesus and under smyrna and under pergamos and under thyatira and under
sardis and under philadelphia and under laodicea revelations 21 6 and he said unto me it is done
i am alpha and omega the beginning and the end i will give unto him that is a thirst of
the fountain of the water of life freely and then revelations 22 13 i am alpha and omega
the beginning and the end the first and the last i just want to point this out again beginning and
the end okay now let's look at root and offspring so in revelations 5 5 and one of the elders said
unto me weep not behold the lion of the tribe of judah the root of david hath prevailed to open
the book and to loose the seven seals thereof and then revelations 26 2 16 i jesus have
sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches i am the roots and the
offspring of david and the bright and morning star that is jesus's testimony he is the root
and the offspring of david he comes from the sinless nature of adam and he is the also
the rightful heir to gank to david's throne he is the last adam the second man so this is
really cool pay close attention to this so this is i believe this is first corinthians i forgot
to add in the first corinthians this is first corinthians 15 42. so it is with the resurrection
of the dead the body that is sown is perishable and mortal it is raised imperishable and immortal
it is sown in dishonor it is raised in glory it is sown in weakness it is raised in strength it
is sown a natural body it is raised a spiritual body as surely as there is a physical body there
is also a spiritual body so it is written the first man adam became a living soul the last
adam became a life-giving spirit why would this reference adam doesn't it make more sense that
god protected the pure sinless bloodline in women that is how he is the last adam why
else would he say he's the last adam if that's not what that means and as the
result of being sinless when the devil killed him that gave birth to
that new life-giving spirits however the spiritual is not first but the
physical then the spiritual the first man is from the earth earthy that's adam the
second man is from heaven as is the earthly man so are those who are of earth and as is
the heavenly so are those who are of heaven just as we are have borne the image of the earthly
we will also bear the image of the heavenly so it is the spotless blood that cleanses us now
i'm not gonna do it now just for sake of time but go go look just go google sin in the blood
and look at how often the bible talks about it's the blood that cleanses us and
it's emphasized the blood that cleanses us adam's blood was no longer spotless
after he sinned because he disobeyed god so the question you have to ask yourself is does
the creator have blood because this comes into the question of who is jesus is jesus the creator or
it was jesus a man who had flesh and blood because the bible says that god is spirit right
so the question is is who is jesus i've i've answered for you how he is the root
and offspring of david hopefully that gives you confidence to know that he was a man that he
had flesh and blood and that it was a pure blood if there was no blood there could be no cleansing
redemption so leading towards the the question of did god create the sperm and put all of himself
all of the essence of the creator in that sperm or did he form the material from adam from
that sinless blood to make to make jesus if there is no blood there
would be no cleansing redemption in hebrews 9 22 it says indeed under the law
almost everything is purified with blood and without the shedding of blood there is no
forgiveness of sins so that's what this is all about is the blood had to be real it could not
have been fantasy it could not have been fable it could not have been ethereal it had to be literal
blood blood that contained the breath of life and it had to be unique right it had to be sinless
it had to come from a bloodline that hadn't sinned in first john 5 6 this is he who came through
water and blood jesus christ not by the water only but by the water and the blood it is the spirit
who testifies because the spirit is the truth the water here talked about here
is baptism when jesus received the holy spirit in luke 23 21 the blood is
that pure y chromosome from mary's rib that was did not have the sin the seed of the
woman taken from adam before the curse there's a lot of parallels that we could cover here but
for the sake of time i want to stick to just blood so let's talk about the water part luke 3 21 now
when all the people were baptized it came so this is talking about jesus it came to pass that jesus
also being baptized and praying the heaven was opened and the holy ghost descended in a bodily
shape like a dove upon him and a voice came from heaven which said thou art my beloved son and
thee i am well pleased and jesus himself began to be about 30 years of age being supposed as was
supposed the son of joseph which was the son of heli and this goes through the whole list of um
the genealogy all the way to luke 33 38 which was the son of enos which was the son of seth which
was the son of adam which was the son of god so this is joseph's bloodline all the way to
adam and adam here is called the son of god right so both adam is called the son of god and
jesus is called the son of god so you have two people who are called the son of god we're also
called the son of god in the new testament but for the sake of what my point is here adam is called
the son of god and jesus is called the son of god now what i want to point out here
is that in the previous verse this is he who came through water and
blood jesus christ not by the water only but by the water and the blood it is the spirit
who testifies because the spirit is truth jesus received the the spirit when
he was 30 not when he was born right and the blood is what testifies of him because
of where it came from so you have two things here that testify who jesus was and the holy ghost
descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him and a voice came from heaven not from jesus from
heaven which said thou art my beloved son and thee i am well pleased now let's read first
john 5 let's continue reading i'm going to start at the beginning here so you
get the full context this is first john 5 6 through 12. who is the one who is victorious
and overcomes the world it is the one who believes and recognizes the fact that jesus is the
son of god this is he who came through water and blood jesus christ not by the water only but
by the water and the blood it is the spirit who testifies because the spirit is the truth verse 7
for there are three witnesses the spirit the water and the blood the spirit is god the water is the
baptism that cleanses the blood is the blood from adam the very beginning before there was sin
in the blood and these three are in agreement if we accept the testimony of men the testimony
of god is greater for this is the testimony of god that he has testified regarding his son remember
thou art my beloved son and thee i am well pleased the one who believes in the son of god has the
testimony within himself the one who does not believe god has made him a liar because he
has not believed in the evidence that god has given regarding his son and the testimony is
this god has given us eternal life and this life is in his son he who has the son has the life he
who does not have the son of god does not have the life so from my previous last two videos i
just want to reemphasize who are the antichrist because remember this really boils down to you
either have the christ and the antichrist those are your two options who are you going to believe
because jesus said that when he comes and there are people who are confused because they don't
understand why they're why they're not saved because they were casting out devils in his
name he's going to tell them i never knew you they think they're casting out devils in the name
of jesus but if you do it in the name of the wrong one he's not going to know who you are so these
are the attributes of antichrist they deny that jesus is the christ they deny the father and the
son and they deny that jesus came in the flesh the son of perdition talked
about in 2 thessalonians is god the son a deity does
not have blood only flesh has blood to deny that jesus came in the flesh is
to is antichrist so whose son do you think he is in the same way that adam was the son of god
jesus is the son of god he is not god the son his father is the one who testifies of him he is the
son of god they are distinct they are sep they are distinctly different they are not the same person
in the same god is in all of us he's through us there has to be a distinction there has to be an
understanding if you believe that jesus is the creator you're worshiping the wrong jesus you're
casting out devils in the name of the wrong jesus you're not going to be born again you receive
that holy spirit when you believe that jesus came in the flesh when you understand that he was
human like you and me the only difference though is his blood did not have that y chromosome
that was damned because adam failed to obey god jesus obeyed god and everything
that he did even unto death he died and as the result of his death like the seed that
dies before it goes into a gr into the grounds the first fruits from the grave was
that new life-giving life-giving spirits and it is available to you and me if we believe
that jesus is the son of god that god raised him from the dead if you believe in your heart if
you confess with your mouth you will be saved you
