to you god bless you welcome to the shepherd's chapel hey welcome to this family bible study hour there you got it right on the screen hour of temptation the hour of temptation we're going to talk on that subject it is an hour and you know what temptation is so it is if you would that time allotted that people will be tempted that's exactly what it means is what it says tempted by who well the false messiah Quite contrary to what most people teach Concerning the very last hour. We're going to go into that and we're going to understand, if we may, how you escape that hour. I would like to lay this groundwork, if I may, I'm hustling for an analogy that I might use concerning something that, there can be something, if you're deceived a little bit, that you may think, boy, that is really a good pastime or something, or some food you eat, and it's really tempting to you. And then you realize that it's very bad for you or if it ever makes you sick one time you don't find that tempting any longer as a matter of fact you kind of pour it and steer away from it so the true secret to escaping the hour of temptation is naturally Christ and our Father's blessings but is to know who it is that's doing the tempting and you won't find him tempting at all It is that temptation, not a temptation of the world, which is bad enough within itself, but a temptation that that gathering of the end times, as Christ would warn in Mark 13, He didn't say, say maybe that the false Messiah would come.
He said he would come. And he would come before Christ himself returned or before there was any gathering out. And unfortunately, as simple as it is that a child can... understand.
It is not taught. So therefore, let's pick up on the terminology, the hour. It's used many times in our Father's Word, the hour of temptation.
Let's ask a word of wisdom. Let's go to our Father's Word and let's take one or two of these places where it is mentioned and affix the subject matter and the object. And that way it isn't just words that I might speak, but it is Word of God that speaks.
You're all familiar with the book of Revelation chapters 2 and 3, which address the seven churches. And those seven churches are, if you would, types of churches that you find even to this day. And naturally, where the hour of temptation is utilized is in that letter that was written or the subject matter written to the church Philadelphia, the prophecy.
You're familiar with that church. That's the church, one of the churches that Christ found nothing wrong with. It and the church of Smyrna.
If your church does not teach what is written to the church of Philadelphia and the church of Smyrna, then really your church isn't teaching you what pleases our Father. In other words, he insists. Because it is the only two churches he found nothing wrong with out of the seven. Anyone with a little bit of intelligence should know and understand. I've got to have that information.
I've got to understand it. So with that thought in mind, let's go to the third chapter of Revelation. Let's pick it up. Verse eight. We're concerning Philadelphia, which you will find that identified in verse seven.
Verse eight. And it reads. I know thy works.
Behold, I have set before thee an open door. In other words, with the works of that church and what it teaches, you have an open door that allows you to see into the Word of God with understanding. Not just to read it and have it confuse you. you, but to read it and understand what you have read.
An open door, and no man can shut it. No man can deceive you or shut the door of your mind to what is fact and what is truth. For thou hast a little strength, in other words, in your own self, with him you have a lot of strength, and hast kept my word. What is it they have kept? They have kept my word being the word of God.
Beloved, it's the most important thing in your life today for longevity. That is to say for the eternity, quite frankly. And that is that you don't keep man's word or some organization's word.
with the subject even being to churches but God's Word all of his word and has kept my word and has not denied my name now name is important in this also because it is his name that will be dropped at the great apostasy or they will use the name Yahweh Savior in as much as that's what the word Jesus means or Yeshua But they will affix it to the wrong party because of the deception. Why? The information that follows in the next verse. They don't have it. Listen to it.
Verse 9, behold, or look here, look very closely. I will make them of the synagogue of Satan. Who are we talking about? Synagogue simply means Satan's own church. When after Antichrist appears on this earth, it will be established.
Though by this day, name it is repulsive but when a person is deceived and in they see this most beautiful of all the beings that God created in a sense other than his own personage then we see the deception for he comes saying why is he called the false Christ the spurious Messiah because he pretends to be Christ is that that difficult to understand of course it isn't he pretends to be Christ and he comes and he establishes his temple of the end times. Paul puts it very adequately when in chapter 2 of 2 Thessalonians he calls it the temple of God. He sits in the temple of God claiming to be God. That's exactly what he will do.
Nothing difficult to understand. Many people wonder, well, who is this one? You just read it. Satan. All right.
By whatever name you wish to call him. Son of perdition. There's only one. Which say they are Jews, claim that his children claim to be of Judah, is what it's saying, and that's called iuras in the Greek, and it causes a great deal of consternation for our brother Judah, because they are Kenites, that is. to say that bad part of the fig tree and are not, but do lie. They're not of Judah and they do lie.
That is to say the Kenites. Behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet. and to know that I have loved thee.
Now that is not to say that the Kenite is going to worship you. But as it is written, on the first day of the millennium, and we're about to go to that last hour here in a moment, you will be at the feet of Christ. Every knee shall bow to him, including the Kenite.
Why? Well, because they're going to worship him when they see Satan placed in the abyss for the... a period of 1,000 years for the millennium.
And they're going to know he is all powerful. And in awe, they will bow to the king of kings. Even they. Will some of them be saved?
I think so. They will have that right. God is fair and he loves every soul he created.
And he is long suffering with the exception of those such as Esau that he would hate. And that is well written in Romans chapter 9. Now, why did we come here? Because here we see the open door to the truth.
And your church either teaches what we just covered in that ninth verse for also the church of Shmerna in chapter 2 verse 9 makes the same statement. Those two churches had that one thing in common that they had that key of David which is to say they had an open door into the scripture and could understand the migrations of the peoples and understand God's plan of salvation that is to say the great deception of the end times. Now let's read on verse 10. 10 because thou hast kept the you have done what you have kept the word of my patience right not accepted someone else's but have kept the Word of God which is to say this word And his patience. Do you not remember why this is written from 2 Peter chapter 3, long about verse 7 or 8, God is long-suffering, meaning he has all kinds of patience and it is his hope that all will come to repentance. Alright, remember he is patient.
The word of patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon, upon who? Upon all, I repeat, all. all the world to try them that dwell upon the earth now i realize that many teach well you don't have to worry about this book of revelation you're going to be gone well you're just not all right this absolute subject here is the hour of temptation, which is Christ's so-called return to the gathering together with those that he loves.
And you're going to, in other words, God has the ability to allow you to escape the hour of temptation. Why? Because it won't be tempting to you.
It will be an abomination. It will be the desolation of that abomination spoken of by Daniel the prophet. Why?
Because that book is open to your mind and you can see it and understand the deception that will be prevalent in this earth age at that time. You don't find it tempting. And more so, God. will allow those to escape it and will even be utilizing or using the servants that he has called out to see that truth and to bring forth that testimony which we'll be covering in the next segment, the next lecture following this one, we'll go into that a little stronger if we may. Well, how do we know that's the end times?
How do we know that's the hour of temptation? Because it is. referred to over and over with everything in context in subject in order to that in we're going to go over to second Peter for just a moment a thought just struck me here we're going there second Peter and we're going to talk about the end times just a little bit if we may and what would be transpiring there at that time chapter 2 and 2nd Peter verse 1 and it reads but there were false prophets also among the people, even, now you listen to me, listen to the word, even as there shall be false teachers among you, that means you today, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies. Even denying the Lord that brought them and bring upon themselves swift destruction. Well, no Christian is going to deny the Christ. If you put somebody in his place, if you think you're going to fly away and all of a sudden pretty boy shows up on the scene.
And performing the miracles that he is able to in the sight of man. And saying the very things you want to hear, being a supernatural entity. able to perform miracles that are so awesome that most people are not mentally prepared or spiritually prepared for it, then they will deny the true Christ simply by accepting that synagogue in its place, believing truly and totally that it is Christ. Verse 2, And many shall follow their pernicious ways, by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
In other words, those that believe that that first Messiah that shows soon on the scene is the true Christ, and anyone that denies him, they will speak evil of that person. You can rest assured they will, as normal as any Christian would if someone talks against Christ. They're going to defend him.
They're just one problem. By not patiently sticking to the Word of God and by listening to men's traditions, they will go to the first Messiah rather than the second, as is so aptly brought forth in the Word of God by Christ Himself, as we will discover those events that transpire in this hour. This hour of temptation. Verse 3. And through covetousness shall they with vain words. That's formed or fabricated words.
Make merchandise of you whose judgment. Now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. In other words, God is aware of what's happening.
Verse 4. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, that's to say in the first earth age, that third as it is written in the 12th chapter of that book of Revelation, that followed Satan himself. If he spared not them, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains, pains of darkness to be reserved unto judgment, as it is written in the book of Jude. Verse 5. And spared not the old world, that is to say, the first world, First Earth Age. Now let's come back to this one and we'll go to Noah. But save Noah, the eighth person, even in Noah's flood, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.
God didn't spare him. What the fallen angels had intermixed with the daughters of Adam, as it is written in Genesis six. And there was only one family that was clear, of that in that sense. Verse 6. In other words, what is he saying here? God was able to deliver Noah from that hour of temptation.
He was afraid. He was able rather to deliver Noah to deliver him from his own wrath, that is to say God's. Verse 6. And let me just go one step further on that.
How did he do that? Through Noah's obedience to build the ark. Noah was obedient to God. Are you?
Verse 6. And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them with an overthrow, made them into a city of fire, making then an example unto those that after should live ungodly. In other words, it was an example of what sodomy and the things that were transpiring there in Sodom and Gomorrah. You remember what happened to the two angels that went to the city and approached Lot.
In other words, he was able to do what? Verse 7, and delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked. In other words, God was able with Sodom and Gomorrah, the... The fire and the brimstone was a very prime example of exactly what shall transpire in this end generation at Sodom and at Hame and Gog and Armageddon. It was a tie.
it was an example of what God is about to do will you be spared hmm if you follow after the wicked one you will perish with the wicked as far as as escaping the first death in other words I let me say the first resurrection you will not take participate in the first resurrection but we'll have to go through the second because you were deceived why by listening to men Rather than understanding the plan of salvation of God. By these wonderful examples that he sets forth here. In this book.
He was able to deliver those that trusted on him. Lot trusted him. Noah trusted him. Lot was obedient to him.
Noah was obedient to him. And God saved them. Which was an example of his salvation for you even today. Obedience to his word. word.
All right. Verse eight, for that righteous man dwelling among them, there in the iniquity of hell, basically, Sodom and Gomorrah in seeing and hearing vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds. It disturbed him to be around that sort of thing.
One more verse. Verse 9. The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations. We're talking about the hour of temptation.
God knows how to deliver those that are obedient, those that love his word. He is able to deliver them and the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished. He can do it.
Do you trust him? Do you believe that? If you have faith to know that, then you wouldn't worry about the end times.
Because it's not going to be tempting to you. Anytime you are well informed and are not biblically illiterate, whereby you understand God's plan, you're not going to be able to do it. never going to find, regardless of how many miracles he works, Satan tempting.
Quite the contrary. He's going to be an abomination. Filth! Filth that he is on this earth parading as Messiah, and the unlearned shall whore after him, thinking that it is the true Christ. Let's return back to that third chapter of Revelation a moment, considering the fact that the hour of temptation, that God would deliver you from it in that tenth verse.
verse. He would keep you from that hour of temptation that God is able to deliver his. It's not the rapture, my friend, that is commonly taught. I would think anyone would be intelligent enough to see that simply by understanding as we complete these lectures on this subject, the hour of temptation.
How that God intends to use his servants. That's what servants are for. That in their loyalty and love to him, they serve him.
Let's go on to the 11th verse where we left to go to Peter there. Behold, I come quickly. Hold that fast which thou hast that no man take thy crown. Don't be robbed, my friend. There will be people trying to do that.
Trying to sway you into the great church of the end times. With the false messiah. That is called the first tribulation.
There are two. Unfortunately, only one is taught. Most speak of the tribulation of God. Well, God's not angry at you. God God doesn't want to destroy you, and he's able to bring you through his wrath, even as he was Noah, even as he was Lot.
That's why the example, verse 12. Him that overcometh. Well, how do you overcome? There were only two churches out of the seven, my friend, that were overcomers.
The others were somewhat off. Those that are overcomers are those that have that key of David and know who the Kenites are. All right? As it is written, Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God.
Think about that. And he shall go no more out. And I will write upon him the name of my God. And the name of the city of my God, which is New Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God. And I will write upon him my new name.
Do you know what that new name is? It's written. It's even mentioned already in the second chapter of this book. Maybe ultimately we'll go there. I don't intend to right now.
I want to teach you what that name was and yet is and shall always be. Because within the name itself, it is a verb to take place and gives you the action that you must perform to put you in that good state. and to escape the hour of temptation.
Hey, it is great when something that you know is desperately bad for you is not tempting. Satan, the filth and scum of the heavens and the earth I don't find him tempting at all I know he's coming first to deceive the poor wretched unlearned that does not make me happy and that is one of the reasons that I have dedicated my life to teaching the truth of God's Word and receiving his blessings in bringing that word forth that others could learn and know and could understand that name okay so with that thought in mind let's go let's still hang into the thought of the name but let's go if we may over to the 17th chapter of this great book of Revelation and I want to show you again about that hour of temptation what hour is he talking about it is it is a symbolic hour in the sense that a great deal of knowledge hinges on that hour of temptation because it allows you to even have the information and knowledge in hand and mind as to the length of time for the elect's sake as it is written in Mark 13 that God shortened the seven years of tribulation both the both his and the false messiahs for those that had the knowledge to overcome Let him give you that new name and allow yourself to escape that hour of temptation by coming to the full knowledge of God as possible and to find the wickedness no longer tempting because of the seal of God that will be placed in your forehead, which is to say the truth, in your brain, mind. All right? Revelation 17, verse 8. This is not a parable or put in parable form necessarily, but for those that have eyes to see, it is the explanation of the parable of the ten world leaders spoken of in the 13th chapter of the book of Revelation.
But inasmuch as the subject is the hour of temptation... We bypass that part and pick it up in the 8th verse, Revelation 17, 8, and still with our minds on the hour of temptation, let us begin. The beast... That thou sawest, in his vision, John, that is to say, was, in other words, he was in the first earth age, and is not, Christ has ordered him behind himself, and even though his evil spirits can come on this earth, Satan is helped by Michael the archangel as the twelfth chapter of this great book, so reiterated and made very clear and simple.
Until Michael will cast him out on this earth soon as false Messiah. Is not and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit. That is to say his place of holding which is a level of degradation.
Yes, even in paradise. A figure of speech. Hang on. and go into perdition. Now there is, let there be no doubt in your mind because that is the chief identifier, the word perdition, which means to perish, because God has not held judgment day for anyone with the exception of Satan himself.
And he has been judged. He has had his judgment day. And his sentence is death or to perish. So let there be no doubt in your mind who we're discussing. There's only one.
So you cannot get too confused, really. It's not a matter of multiple choice. There is only one.
And that's Satan and his synagogue. Who goes into perdition, and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder whose names, or what, whose names were not written in the book of life, that new name, if you would, recorded on that book, from the foundation of the earth. of the world that is to say his election and there is also a book with those that love Christ even among the ethnos that shall that are also in that book when they beheld the beast that was and is not and yet is why is he yet is because he's going to be tossed out now comes the explanation of how that will come to pass verse 9 now do you understand that in as much as he was and yet is not on earth today and this is addressed to earth but in heaven and yet shall be that we have three different segments there and Satan carries many names Lucifer say Satan, the devil, the dragon, the serpent. All those are utilized in chapter 12, verse 7 and 8 of the book of Revelation, as well as chapter 20, verse 1 of the great book of Revelation, the many names of Satan. But there are about 12, 17 of them.
So think about it. And in the languages, to a linguist, those names are definitions of his morals. and his actions Verse 9, and here is the mind which hath wisdom.
How about it? Open yours up. Has God opened that door for you that allows you to escape the hour of temptation?
Then open up and let the wisdom that God has placed in your mind understand the scripture. These seven heads are seven mountains. That means there are seven nations being seven dominions that the beast controlled the world from.
It's called the one word. world system on which the woman sitteth. Who is the woman?
That great mystery Babel and the harlot, those that whore after the false Christ thinking he is Jesus. That's who she is. Verse 10, sharpen up.
And there are seven kings. These are not seven different kings. They are seven titles of Satan in different roles that he has played throughout the first earth age and the second earth age to this date.
There are seven kings. Five are fallen. Five of those roles have already come to pass even at the time of this writing.
And one is, old Satan's always on the job. And the other is not yet come, but he will. Why?
He's being helped by Michael in the heavens, as it is written in Revelation 12, 7. And when he cometh, he must continue. How long? A short space. A five-month period as it is defined in Revelation chapter 9. But hang on to that thought for a moment.
Verse 11, And the beast that was and is not... Even he is the eighth. Same old boy playing the same old games. It doesn't take you long to wise up to him when you relate it to temptation, my friend, deception.
and is of the seven. Why? Because he is all seven. Just different titles.
And goeth into perdition. There again, get acquainted with the word perdition. It is the same, prime root as Satan's name so that you know that the son of perdition the one that goes in perdition is Satan the false messiah he that was the archangel that protected the mercy seat which has a messiah connotation meaning he wanted to be the Messiah himself but he was not never has been and never will be with the exception that he is the spurious messiah allowed by God to deceive those that have not loved God's word to the point that they listen to it rather than the traditions of men. How are you fixed for blades, friend?
That's just an old military saying that says, How you doing? You hanging in there pretty tough yet? Okay, hang on some more. And the ten kings which thou sawest are ten kings which have received no kingdom as yet. Listen to me, but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
One hour. There is, my friend, that hour of temptation. Real quickly, let's go to Isaiah.
Let's go to the Old Testament in just a moment. Isaiah 65. I want to insert a few thoughts here. Isaiah 65 and let's see where do we want to pick it up at there we want to go to the 11th verse in Isaiah 65 and the 11th verse reads but ye are they that forsake the Lord in other words God is cursing or putting a curse upon those that will not hold to his word listen to it I'm going to read it rather rapidly here but ye Are they that forsake the Lord and forget my holy mountain, that's Zion, and prepare a table for that troop, the wrong troop, the wrong host, it's Gad in the Hebrew, and that furnish... The drink offering unto that number. Many, many tekel.
Unfortunately, the wrong drink and the wrong number. God of faith is who Gad is, all right, in the troop. I'm sorry.
unfortunately it'll be the bad fate of many to walk that path therefore in verse 12 well I number you to the sword and ye shall all bow down to this slaughter very religious thing friend there will be deceived because when I called you did not answer and when I spake you did not hear But did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not. People always go in the wrong direction, listening to the wrong people, when you have your Father to listen to. Listen to Him, 13. Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold my servants, that is to say, those that I protect shall eat, but ye shall be hungry. Whenever that famine of the end times comes, what is that Amos chapter 8, it's the famine is not for bread, but famine or starving to hear the true word of God, because there will not be that many teaching the true word of God at that time. Okay.
Behold, my servant shall drink, but you shall be thirsty. Behold, my servant shall rejoice, but you shall be ashamed. Thou preparest a table for me in the face of mine enemies.
Has he prepared that table for you in this generation? 14. Behold, my servant shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit. Unfortunately, wrong spirit, friend. Verse 15. And ye shall leave your name here comes the name part now you shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen for the Lord God shall slay thee and call his servants by another name do you have that name as I ask yeah we're in the Old Testament but it's the same one speaking your father do you have that name he calls his servants by another name verse 16 that he who blessed himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth have you here's the truth friend And he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth, because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes. In other words, I will forgive every sin those commit that love me and hold my word precious.
And we'll even give them a new name. Do you know we're going to go to chapter 62 in closing this lecture? And we're going to observe that name. And we find in that name, as we begin in verse 1, and I'm going to read this rather rapidly.
It's good. You listen. For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.
Many might think that God's long-suffering and patience goes forever. It doesn't. He just gives everyone a chance.
Verse 2, the Gentiles, that is to say the nations, shall see thy righteousness and all kings thy glory, and thou shalt be called by a new name. Which the mouth of the Lord shall name, and I might add, has. Verse 3. Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
Do you stick to the real truth? Do you realize that you are royalty? When you absolutely have your eyes open, your ears can hear, and you're a servant of the living God. Verse 4. Thou shalt no more be termed forsaken.
Neither shall thy land anymore be termed desolate. That is to say, desolation of the abomination of Daniel the prophet when the false Messiah stands in the temple claiming to be God. But thou shalt be called Hephzibah.
You know what that means? My delight is in her. That's what the name is. Those that God is delighted in.
Hephzibah. and thou land, even the very land itself, Beulah. For the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married, joined. In other words, meaning God has returned, that he is here. As it is written in Ezekiel chapter 16, God loved that place, and it was his favorite spot on the earth or even from the heavens.
Now, listen on. What about the name? Verse 5. man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee. And as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee. Marry to God and call the wife, not the bride.
The reason both terms are utilized in Revelation 19. Verse 6. I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem. You know what a watchman does? He watches. watches for the true events to come to pass, which shall never hold their peace day or night nor night. Ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silent.
You keep blowing that trumpet. You stay on guard. You stay on watch.
You keep telling the truth. You say it over and over. You wake up those that sleep seven and give him no rest.
That's silence till he establish until he makes. make Jerusalem a praise in the earth. It isn't yet, friend, but it's going to be someday. Verse 8, the Lord has sworn by his right hand. You can count on it, friend.
God has sworn by his right hand. This will come to pass. It hasn't yet.
And by the arm of his strength, surely, I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies. And the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast labored. No more GAT, no more NAFTA, no more world banks and one worldism, whereby goods and monies are regulated by a one world system. But by our honest Father, verse 9, but they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the Lord, and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of holiness in other words you you brought it to pass you're the one that's going to enjoy it or have what have you done for God lately it is your riches in heaven your works do go with you as it is reported in Revelation chapter 14 verse 10 go through go through the gates going in prepare you the way of the people cast up cast up the highway Gather out the stones.
In other words, kick the rocks out of the road and and decipher the truth in such a way that a child can understand it to find his way into the kingdom of God. Make it easy for those that follow. Lift up a standard for the people.
In other words, lift up Christ and the standard, the word of God, Christ, that the living word and place it and keep it in sight of the people. Behold, the Lord, verse 11, hath proclaimed. unto the end of the world.
Has that happened yet? No, we're still in this second earth age. Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh. Behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
His recompense is with him. What has he said? For the good, that is good. And for the bad, unfortunately, that is bad.
But you love him. He forgives your shortcomings and utilizes you. you in his salvation plan.
12 and the completion. And they shall call them the holy people, the redeemed of the Lord, and thou shalt be called. What?
Called what? Sought out a city not forsaken. And also his people called out.
Hey friend, is he calling you? Have you always known there was more to God's word than you'd been taught? Do your eyes see? into the deeper truths we're gonna pick this up in the next lecture the hour of temptation and that new name don't miss it all right bless your hearts you listen a moment won't you please all right good day to you god bless you welcome to the Shepherd's Chapel hey welcome to this family Bible study our praise God we're going to finish the lecture the hour of temptation why why is it important to you to be at least familiar with that hour of temptation temptation because it is a set period of time that God is allotted just before Christ returns. And in as much as we are in that generation, you'll remember in Mark chapter 13, that in verse 28, Jesus said, learn the parable of the fig tree, because when the shoot, as it is recorded in Jeremiah 24, both the good and the bad fig are set out, all things will be fulfilled before that generation passes away.
Well, that shoot was set out in 1948. So you're in that generation, and now we begin to hone, if you would, the time down to that hour, which really is a five-month period of time, as we found out in the book of Revelation. Because the hour is the time to, let's simplify it a moment. The hour, the son of perdition is given an hour. His name is Apollyon also.
And we find out in Revelation chapter 9 that he has a five-month period. There was silence in heaven a half hour. Now, how long would that be judging by? Revelation chapter 9, it would be two and a half months. So instead of three and a half years, we have the time shortened for the elect's sake, as it would say here in this 13th chapter remark, for the elect's sake God has shortened the days, else there would be no one saved.
So it is a very, it is really a time of severe deception. That is called the tribulation of Antichrist. So, with that thought in mind, we come back then and begin to hone in on that hour whereby you can recognize it when it comes to pass. We're going to talk about some very simple things today. The, when Christ set it aside, the hour, and he begins to explain some of those final events that consummate the end of this age.
I want to go with that thought in mind, the hour of temptation. I want to go to the 13th chapter of Mark. You'll remember that Christ is telling how it will be at the very end, just before he returns in this particular chapter, as well as Matthew 24. We're going to...
and address that hour from both chapters. Okay, first let's go with Mark 13. And in as much as you are all familiar with that chapter, if you've studied with me any length of time, we ask that word of wisdom from our Father. Let's pick it up in the ninth verse of that 13th chapter of Mark, and let's go with it.
Listen to the word of God, taught by Jesus Christ in that office, and it reads, But take heed to yourselves. What does that mean? It means be real careful. Be real careful for yourselves. For they will deliver you up to councils, and in the synagogues you shall be beaten.
What synagogue are we talking about? Do you remember Revelation 3, verse 9, where it stated, you that have the key to David, you that know those that claim to be of our brother Judah, but in fact, or the Kenites of the synagogue of Satan, that even they will come to you. and worship and he said i'll let you escape the hour of temptation as it was written there in revelation chapter 3. so here is the another account of that being delivered up before the son of perdition in his synagogue his gathering place his church so to speak and that is to say not to be confused with any synagogue of today, but the synagogue when Antichrist is on this earth.
Why anyone that refuses to accept the son of perdition as the true Messiah, naturally will be delivered up for what? For punishment? No, conversion. The great apostasy would have taken place, so we continue.
This is part of that hour of temptation. It may be tempting to some to say, oh well, why fight it? But to the rest, it will be an abomination, okay? You shall be beaten and you shall be brought before. That's spiritually beaten if you allow it.
You'll be brought before rulers and kings for my sake. Would you be willing to do that for the Son of God? Would you be willing to do that for Jesus who died for us on the cross? I think so. For a testimony against them.
In other words, that is the purpose. Is to give a testimony against the Kenites and the son of perdition. What an opportunity. Talk about a champion.
of the people and people say that God's word is boring. This will come to pass. It is written and true Christians will stay true and remain a virgin spiritually all the way to the end to the true Christ.
All right. Now, verse 10 and the gospel. This is the reason you are delivered up not to not to be harmed. But what? And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
And many people say, well, it is today. Oh, come on. Come on. You call that the gospel?
Think about it. Think about it. How many people have eyes to see and ears to hear? We are told in Luke 21 that, well, let's go one more verse and then we'll break into that a little bit, okay? But when they shall lead you and deliver you up, when this takes place, this is the teaching.
of Christ, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do you premeditate, but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that hour, that hour, what hour? The hour of temptation. As a matter of fact, this is the only time that God's elect could commit the unpardonable sin, and that's why it is an hour of temptation.
I do not think that one living soul will commit that sin because we find him an abomination. What will they do then? What will you say?
But whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, the hour of temptation, that speak ye, for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit. Spirit better translated the Greek is spirit in other words. This is that that was spoken of on Pentecost Day when Peter would state this is that that was spoken of by Joel the prophet When the both the sons and the daughters are delivered up and the Holy Spirit speaks through them It's coming and that hour of temptation will be upon the whole world, but God's elect will not fall short.
In this entire chapter, Christ is making it very clear that the false Messiah will come to this earth establish this false church, government as it is written even in Revelation 13. And we will stand against it for a very special reason. That is that the truth spoken by the Holy Spirit is not Holy Spirit, the very two-edged sword of God coming from the mouth of those champions that are not deceived. Back in verse 5 of this 13th chapter, that would be Christ's first warning.
Take heed that no man deceive you. Why? Don't listen to man's traditions.
Listen to the word of God. For this is how it shall come to pass in that hour of temptation. Now, I want to go now, if we may, to Matthew chapter 24. I want to pick up there. This is the very same subject matter being taught. We're going to go just in all fairness to a different report.
That was Mark's report of what happened. We're going now to Matthew's report. Matthew 24. We will go to that 24th chapter and we're going to remember what I said about the parable of the fig tree. Jesus didn't say maybe Christian you are to get around to learning it. He said learn it.
It's imperative that you know it. Otherwise, you would not know the season even, you see. Okay?
For anyone that is concerned about that, we have a tape titled The Parable of the Fig Tree. And I say the same. You better learn it.
All right. Now, let's pick it up, if we may, in verse 34 here. In this 24th chapter of Matthew, Christ has just explained concerning the parable of the fig tree and how that all things would be fulfilled before that generation passed away.
and we pick it up reading that in Matthew 24, verse 34, it reads, Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass till all these things be fulfilled. Verse 35, heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. The word of God is eternal.
You're going to live by this in the eternity if you're there. Otherwise, you're going to be in a lake of fire anyway. It won't make a whole lot of difference to you, will it?
Because you're gone. Verse 36, listen carefully. But, in other words, but means he's continuing the same subject. But of that day and hour, and I repeat, and hour, what hour? The hour of temptation.
Of that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But again, he gives the parable of the fig tree directly before that. and does give the generation so it's important beloved that you understand that now let's see what is this verse 37 said but meaning the same subject is continuing giving you more clues but as the days of Noah that I'll pronounce it in the Hebrew Noah were so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be in over it's going to be just like it was in Noah's day when the true Christ returns to this earth all right well how what was going on then well he's going to tell us isn't it wonderful what a teacher he is verse 38 I speak of Christ for as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noah entered into the ark now you know it doesn't take an intelligent person to go back to Genesis chapter 6 because these are very important things they would take place in that hour of temptation so you better sharpen up these things that follow will take place you're actually reading how it will be here on earth during that hour of temptation you know very well that from Genesis 6 it states that the fall of the earth is the hour of temptation angels saw the daughters of Adam that they were beautiful and they came and they took them to wife seduced them they were impregnated and children were born and they were called Giber by the Nephilim in other words the offspring of progeny of the Nephilim They searched, God searched, and there was only one man that had a perfect generation, which the word generation in Hebrew taken to the prime means pedigree, that had not intermixed with these hybrids, these fallen angels. And that's why the flood came to pass.
God destroyed the hybrids, got rid of them. That's why the flood came to be, because they were giving and taking in marriage to who? You know who.
It would be this that Paul would say a woman should keep her head and covered in church because of the angels why? Revelation 12 7 Michael is going to cast Satan and his angels back out on this earth And it's going to be as Satan fills the role of as the son of perdition the only son that has been pronounced and sentenced by God to perish as the Spurious Messiah or he's going to pretend to be Jesus Christ himself Now that isn't too difficult to put together, especially for you that have eyes to see and ears to hear. That will happen in that hour of temptation. How much clearer could Christ make it?
That will be going on. Verse 39, he continues, And after Noah entered the ark, and knew not until the flood came and took them all away, he said, shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. You can read in that same chapter of Revelation 12 that there will be a flood also, a flood of lies coming from Satan's mouth that chase after those that try to follow Christ.
And there will be another flood, but not by water, by lies, deception. Hey, it's already started, my friend. And anytime someone would tell you, don't worry, you're going to be gone.
they're lying to you they do not mean to they are in ignorance concerning it and I know it upsets them when I say that but tough I'd rather see their soul saved than and at the risk of intimidating or offending. Because this is Jesus Christ speaking of exactly how it shall be before his coming. And many men lie about how it shall be at his coming.
Quoting traditions of men rather than the word of God. Hey, you make your own mind up, friend. You're making your own bed and I guarantee you, you're going to sleep in it. My question is, who will you believe?
Jesus Christ or some man? It is Christ that is telling and sharing these things with us. Verse 40. Then, that means at the same time, or just right after that, after you see these things on earth, then shall two be in a field, the one shall be taken, and the other left.
And oh, how many sermons have been preached. Oh, praise God, I want to be the one taken. Who are they taken by?
The son of perdition. the Antichrist, the fallen angels. Do you want to be taken by them? Hey, hop in bed with them, friend, spiritually. It's all your game.
You're the one that's going to pay the bill. Have at it. He's telling you about the hour of temptation. Are you intelligent enough to even be tempted?
Are you biblically illiterate? Or are you familiar with God's word? Listen to the teachings of Christ.
Two women, verse 41, two women shall be grinding at the mill. The one shall be taken and the other left. The subject in this entire chapter is the deception of the false Christ.
He's the one doing the take. Do you want to join the team, friend? Got mighty pretty uniforms.
Jump in one of them if that's what your choice is. Listen to the traditions of men in Suffolk. Listen to Jesus Christ and find eternal life.
Verse 42. Watch therefore. He said, I've told you about it now. Watch therefore. For you know not what hour.
What hour? The hour of temptation. You know not what hour your Lord doth come. The hour of temptation precedes the very end of that hour, that five month period.
Verse 43. But know this. Christ speaking still, know this, that if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched. and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
If you know the hour of temptation, you won't be caught off guard, friend, because that's the hour in which it will come. 44. Therefore, be also ready for in such an hour, what hour? The hour of temptation. In such an hour as you think not, the Son of Man cometh. In other words, with the false Messiah already on earth, not too many will be watching for the true Son of God.
But you will be. Why? You know the truth.
You know the hour of temptation. Verse 45. Who then is a faithful and wise servant? Now, do you want to be a faithful and wise servant? Now stop and think about this. This is a question by Jesus Christ.
Who then is a faithful and wise servant whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household to give them meat in due season? Do you know what meat is? meat is? That strong food from God's table.
The truth. In what season? The season of the generation of the fig tree and the hour of temptation.
Can you handle strong meat? Or are you still sucking a bottle and still wearing diapers of Christianity? Are you biblically illiterate or have you studied our father's word?
You can answer to yourself. Verse 46. Blessed. Boy, now this is where you want to be, is it not?
You want to be blessed. Blessed is that servant whom his Lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing. And what did it say? Blessed is the servant that's flying around in the atmosphere. Out in the boony, boony, moony moons.
Alright? That isn't what he said. Blessed is the servant that stays...
on the job in the field which is the earth working. Working what? Doing what was described as when deliver it up allow the Holy Spirit to speak and continue serving the living God.
And blessed only is the person that is still doing that work and cursed is the first taken. Cursed. In the bed of Satan the Jezebel of Revelation chapter 2 and 3. It declares very clearly there that she'll hop in his bed. I didn't say it. Christ did.
Verse 47. Verily I say unto you. Verily can be translated better in the English. Truly.
I'm telling you the truth is what Christ is saying. That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. In other words, there's going to be some teachers during the millennium. And it will be those teaching that meet even now. That one that stays at the mill working will be in charge during the millennium.
For those that have allowed themselves to trip and fall into the deception of the false Christ. 48. But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, my Lord, the light of his coming. 49. And shall begin to smite his fellow servants and to eat and drink with the drunken.
He ain't coming. And don't worry about it if he does. you're going to be gone anyway. You don't have to study God's Word.
You don't have to understand the book of Revelation. You're not going to be here. So just party up spiritually, friend, and rest easy. You're saved. Saved by who?
Antichrist? Wake up. Verse 50, the Lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour.
What hour? The hour of temptation right at the close that he is not aware of. Are you familiar with the hour of temptation?
You're being taught, friend. 51. And shall cut him asunder and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Oh, Lord, you don't understand. I've been a big-time preacher here for you for many years. I just got off track there a little bit with that rapture thing.
I've led a lot of people to you, Lord. He's going, get out of my sight. Get over there with the hypocrites, you hypocrite.
Chapter 25, verse 1. 1. Sounds strong? I'd rather see you wake up now than wake up after it's too late. I want you to read the first word of verse 1, chapter 25. Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins.
which took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom. Now, I'm going to tell you something. We're going to be talking about this same hour. The hour midnight is the end of the day in this parable.
It begins with the eleventh hour. They all claim to be Christians. The oil in the Greek that is placed in these lamps is olive oil, which is symbolic of God's truth and the Holy Spirit.
How are you fixed for it, friend? How well have you studied your father's word? In other words, this has to do with that hour summed in a neat pattern and tied whereby you can see the end hour passed before your eyes in this parable and then comes midnight what are you going to be doing at midnight friend let's check it out if you continue your present course today where are you going to be at midnight listen Verse 2, And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
You don't have to know God's Word. Just a waste of time listening to God. Listen to me. You don't have to understand Revelation, even though the word Revelation means revealed or unveiled. Don't trust God.
Trust me with your soul. Don't be foolish, my friend. Verse 3, they that were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them.
They were so-called saved, but they didn't have any meat. They didn't have any of that. the spirit of the word of God. They hadn't studied it.
They were biblically illiterate. Empty. Running on empty. Brain cells down to zero concerning the word of God in the time segments. The hour of temptation.
Verse 4. But the wise took oil. That oil is the love of the truth. took oil in their vessels with their lamps in other words this was a reservoir of oil other than what was just lighting the little wick up in that little chamber had a big reservoir had a five gallon bucket of it along with them all right I'll put it that way what are lamps they're lights and Christ is the light of the world have you ever studied his word I hope and pray For the souls of those men that have passed off the words of Jesus Christ in the book of Revelation has no need to learn it. Because you're ignorant, uneducated in the word of God, and you're leading a lot of souls straight to the lake of fire and empty wicks.
Verse 5. While the bridegroom tarrieth, they all slumbered and slept. Getting close to midnight. Drowsy out. God sent the Spirit of God of slumber upon a bunch of them for their own protection. Six.
And at midnight, the hour is over. At midnight there was a cry made, Behold the bridegroom cometh. Go ye out to meet him.
We blew the whole hour from 11 to 12, and they were asleep. You don't have to understand God's Word. Just be stupid. You'll be gone, stupid.
It'll be all right. Now, that's how much sense... it makes, my friend.
And I realize I'm riding them pretty good and I got my spurs dug in deep, but it's pretty late in the day, pretty late in the hour to be playing church with a bunch of wimps. All right. Get serious. Verse seven.
Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. Do you know what it's like to trim a lamp? It doesn't make a real bright flame. If it's a little jagged and got a lot of old soot there, you'd better have yours trimmed because it burns brighter.
Verse 8. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil. For our lamps are gone out, or they're going out. Hey, it's a little late to wait to the last minute and say, teach me God's word. I'm sorry, throw them back in.
Too late, Charlie, so sad. You're not good enough. We don't want you in that condition.
Too late, so sad. When you're wise enough to understand, you're within that hour, and everyone since 1948 should be. You better be gathering in that oil, which is God's truth, of His Word that guides you and directs you. He did not leave us here helpless and dumb. He sent us the Word of God from where all wisdom flows.
Are you listening to me? man, or are you studying God's word? Hey, it's up to you, friend.
We're a little late in the day to be playing church and traditions. You better get into his word. Verse 9. But the wise answered saying, not so. I mean, you can't teach somebody in one minute or when it's too late. In an instant, it doesn't happen.
Lest there be not enough for us and you, but go ye rather to them that sell and buy for yourselves. Go back and study it for yourself, friend. In other words, verse 10. And while they went to buy, twelve times the clock struck.
The hour ended. The bridegroom came. And they that were ready went in with him to the marriage. Not to that Jezebel that jumped in Satan's bed, but the marriage to Yeshua Messiah Jesus the Christ.
And the door was... shut. And so it was.
I mean, too late, Charlie. The girls are at town. Don't shut the door yet. They'll be right back.
And there's nothing feminine about this in that sense for all or the bride of Christ that wait for him and and all will that run a little short there's a marriage they're going to attend all right I've kept referring to it and and And she's spoken of here in Revelation chapter 2, and I'm going to just take a little break. Notwithstanding, I have few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which called herself a prophetess. She claimed to have God's truth, that church. To teach and seduce my servants to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and I gave her space to repent of her fornication, and she repented not.
Behold, I will cast her into a bed. And them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. That's the tribulation of jumping in bed with Antichrist, whereby they are with child.
Woe to those that are spiritually with child. When I return, saith the Lord. You would read that also back in the 24th chapter of Matthew. Too late, Charlie. There's two weddings.
Which one? Also, Paul would say in 2 Corinthians chapter 11, I worry about you. He said, I'm going to talk foolish a moment.
And it would be to somebody that really would know the truth. But the book was written to even this generation, and they don't. Many don't.
I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy for I want to present you to the true Christ as a virgin Not seduced as Eve was by the evil one meaning the devil Are you going to be a Jezebel? Or are you going to be a wise virgin? During the hour of the temptation, all the way through it, up till the twelve gongs of midnight. Are you going to enter in before the door is slammed shut?
It's up to you, friend. All up to you. Don't blame it on anybody else. It's up to you.
We're going then back to that 25th chapter of Matthew. Let's pull up the next verse there. Verse 11. Afterward.
Not then and not but, meaning you still got time with those terminologies, but here it says afterward. Sorry, friend. Afterward is too late.
Afterward came also the other virgins saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. We're ready now. Our preacher told us we didn't have to understand Revelation or any of the prophecies, but we went real quick and we listened to some old tapes and everything, and now we're back up to date. We're ready, Lord.
Open to us. Verse 12. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Get out of my sight.
Too late, Charlie. Now is the time. Now is. Even as that hour of temptation approacheth, beloved, be aware, be awake.
What are you supposed to do? What would Christ advise you concerning this matter? Verse 13. watch. Do you know what a watchman is?
They mean watch over your own soul. Open your eyes. Look at God's word. Watch for the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah is all over this world just exactly as it was written. You don't have to go very far to see it.
The corruption, the pollution. Are you watching? Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh. Friend, you know that hour. It's the hour of temptation.
If, if you study his word. Do you know the moment? No, nobody knows the moment. but you had better you had better take very serious he that created all things his instructions and his his advice because i'm going to tell you something just as sure as prophet have come to pass in the past and they do line online they come to pass every day an example I'll use myself and my ministry as an example almost 40 years ago I was teaching that we would go into one world ISM and many people laughed 30 years ago I was still teaching it. 20 years ago people would still smile.
The USA go into a one world system? Forget it, Jack. 10 years ago, still the same thing. Today you hear of the New World Order.
the cutting down of nafta of gat do you hear of the world new world order all over the place the united nations not in the united states the united nats nations all over. One monetary system, hopefully all trade fair, free, no tariffs everywhere. We're just one people, one world. Christian, saints, all alike with everyone else.
Well, they are God's children. But those are all prophecies that have come to pass online. I have seen it in my generation.
And my generation happens to be the generation of 48. Those prophecies are coming to pass at a rapid pace. I can remember over 40 years ago when you would have to wait a long, long time for one prophecy to come on another. Does that sound familiar to you?
Something like labor pains? They're far apart and then they get closer and closer. So are prophecies and they're coming to pass at this time.
There's one thing to, well, I've never seen any prophecies come to pass. Well, I can tell you that you're not familiar with your father's word, and you're biblically illiterate if you haven't. Because he forewarned you, if you read his letter that he wrote to you, you would be seeing those prophecies come to pass, for they do at a very rapid pace now.
The birth of a new age is about to transpire, happen. The 12 strokes of midnight are soon coming. How long? Soon?
Two? Three? Four?
2000? The year 2000? I don't expect this earth age to go too far past that, if that far at all.
For all these signs are on the table practically for the appearance of the evil one. The temptation. To receive him as the true Christ begins at that time. Are you going to worship the first supernatural Messiah that appears on this earth soon? That's what it comes down to, my friend.
Christ's advice is, don't be the first one taken. He said, don't let somebody deceive you. shall come first.
Paul himself would teach in 2 Thessalonians 2, I want to talk to you about our gathering back to the true Christ. It isn't going to happen until the son of perdition in the hour of temptation stands in the temple of God claiming to be God. And those that will not study the word, God has sent strong delusion upon them, whereby they will believe the lie.
Are you going to believe it? Many will. I trust that you have eyes to see and ears to hear.
And that you grow and mature daily in our Father's Word as we gather together and study the meat, not milk, meat of the Word of God. All right, beloved, there you have it. The hour of temptation. Can you be tempted? It states in the book of Daniel, he's going to say to you, I'll pay all your bills.
I'll write off all your debts. I'll give you everything you want if you'll worship me. I am Messiah.
There's just one thing wrong, friend. He's the spurious. Messiah how many will line up before him all the world will wonder whose names are not written in the Lamb's Book of Life the hour of temptation there you got it hope you enjoyed it all right bless your hearts you listen a moment won't you please
