Installing an Evergreen Digital Sprinkler System

Prerequisites

  • Ensure water pressure is between 40 to 80 psi.
  • Minimum water flow of 8 gallons per minute.
  • Verify clean water.
  • Call 811 to mark utilities before digging.

Unboxing Components

  • Controller: Connects to Wi-Fi, includes power plug.
  • Controller Cable: Connects digital sprinklers.
  • Digital Sprinkler Head: Quantity based on home needs.
  • Sprinkler Cable and Flex Hose.

Additional Purchases Needed

  • PVC pipe, elbows, connectors.
  • 1-inch tees with female pipe threads.

Installation Steps

Measuring Pressure and Flow

  • Pressure: Use a gauge on the hose bib to ensure 40+ psi.
  • Flow: Fill a 5-gallon bucket in less than 45 seconds.

Placement and Connection

  • Sprinkler Head Placement: Ensure it can cover the zone's farthest corners.
  • Controller Location: Needs an outdoor outlet and strong Wi-Fi.
  • Water Line Connection: Tap into any nearby spigot or irrigation box.
  • Trenching: Dig for PVC pipe and cables, about 2 feet from sprinkler head placements.

Connecting Components

  • Flex Hose to Pipe: Use Teflon tape on the large side only.
  • Flush Line: Run water for 3 minutes to clear debris.
  • Sprinkler on Flex Pipe: Hand tighten only.
  • Electrical Wiring: Connect controller cable and daisy chain additional sprinklers.

Controller Installation

  • Mount using back bracket, ensure level placement.
  • Connect to AC power and cables.

Setting Up the System

App Setup

  • Download Erogreen 2 app.
  • Add controller using camera and location permissions.
  • Input Wi-Fi credentials.

Testing and Verifying Connections

  • Use the app to test all sprinkler wiring connections.
  • Check for leaks and bury trenches with heads 1/4 inch above soil level.

Calibrating Sprinklers

  • Use app to calibrate each zone's spray distance.
  • Perform measurements for accurate calibration.

Programming Watering Shapes and Schedule

  • Define watering shapes using app's point system.
  • Set watering schedule: days, frequency, and duration.

Final Steps

  • Ensure all settings are applied.
  • Monitor system for effective operation.
  • Adjust schedules based on weather and lawn needs.
