Method 1: Using the Windows Icon
Right-click
on the Windows icon.
Click on
Settings
.
Select the
Accounts
section.
Click on
Family and other users
.
To add a user, click on
Add other user
.
Method 2: Using Search Settings
If you don’t see Settings from the Windows icon:
Click on the
search bar
.
Click on the
three dots
and select
Search settings
.
Click on
Accounts
.
Follow the same steps as Method 1 from here.
Adding a User Without a Microsoft Account
Click on
Add account
.
Choose
I don’t have this person’s sign-in information
.
Select
Add a user without a Microsoft account
.
Enter the
new username
and
password
.
Set up
security questions
for password recovery.
Click
Next
to complete the process.
Verifying Current Users
Click on the Windows icon to view current users.
You can also check in the
Control Panel
:
Search for
Control Panel
.
Click on
Change account type
to see all users.
Signing In with the New User Account
Click on the Windows icon to see user options.
Choose the newly created user or click on
Sign out
.
Log in with new user credentials.
Wait for the system to get ready for the new user.
Location and Privacy Settings
During setup, options for location settings will appear:
Choose whether to allow app location usage.
Accept or decline sending diagnostic data to Microsoft.
Final Confirmation
Log out from the new user to switch back to the original account.
