morab Deval Billy aka the machine is known for his unlimited cardio and relentless pursuit of his opponents in the octagon He grew up during a rough period in Georgia when violence poverty and political instability was a part of daily life Like many Georgians of his generation he experienced power outages scarce resources and limited opportunities which forced the mental toughness he's known for in the cage During Morab's early childhood years he played sports like soccer and basketball which I'm sure played a role in his athletic development as a child When Morab was 12 or 13 years old he began training in judo and his dream was to become an Olympic world champion Morab had some professional fights in Georgia prior to moving to the United States but they did not go towards his record So he had to start from scratch with his MMA career He lost his professional debut in the US won his second fight and then he lost his third fight After going 1 and two in the US he started to question if he was good enough to be in the UFC If he couldn't win in a small MMA organization then how was he going to compete at the UFC level After some self-reflecting Morab realized that he could not live a normal life and he locked in on his goals He missed working hard and pursuing a goal so he decided to go all in on his MMA goals All Marab cared about was working hard He was not concerned with making money Morab then went on a six-fight win streak and got signed to the UFC In this video we are going to take a deep dive in the training methods that turned Morab into the machine Conditioning Morab developed his unlimited cardio through training hard and not taking days off He also credits his amazing stamina to being smart in fights and knowing when he needs to conserve energy versus being aggressive in fights Morab develops his cardio by running swimming wrestling jiu-jitsu and sparring His work ethic and training intensity are unmatched Morab overwhelms his opponents with non-stop takedown attempts and he never slows down in fights The conditions in postsviet Georgia helped to forge a mental and physical toughness that laid the foundation for Morab's endurance As a teenager Morab trained in Georgian wrestling and judo and these martial arts are grueling by nature emphasizing full body strength and endurance Morab is known by his peers to outwork everyone in the gym He performs high volume circuit training including battle ropes sled pushes hill sprints and explosive bodyweight exercises He treats fatigue as a psychological barrier rather than a physical limit His attitude is simple I don't get tired This mental toughness enables him to keep pushing when others break He trains to chain wrestle constantly shooting 20 to 30 takedowns per session In his fight against Peter Jan he attempted 49 takedowns in 25 minutes which was a UFC record He never stops moving even during clinches and ground exchanges which is discouraging for an opponent Technique training Morab's technique as a mixed martial artist is constantly improving John Wood as Syndicate MMA speaks very highly of Morab and his work ethic Although Morab is a world-class wrestler he still continues to train his grappling and improve his striking skills I still think that people underestimate Morab's striking abilities and he is only getting better His striking isn't meant to KO his opponent It's meant to distract pressure and close distance safely Usually when Morab closes the distance then he is able to secure the takedown opponents become so worried about the takedowns that it often opens them up to strikes from Morab So they get in a situation where they have to pick their poison Are they the girls with their Since Morab takes the time to improve his technique it has actually helped his conditioning improve in fights as well because he no longer enters the octagon fighting wild but now he fights using strategy He has confidence in his technique so it allows him to stay calm in the cage and set things up before dominating his opposition Morab's core technical strength lies in chain wrestling The ability to flow from one takedown to another until the opponent breaks His goal is not always to secure the first takedown is to keep you defending until he wins the position nutrition and recovery One of the greatest resources that the UFC offers its fighters is the UFC Performance Institute The UFC Performance Institute is a world-class training research and recovery facility designed to support UFC athletes performance health for him Thanks to the performance institute Morab is educated on safe sciencebacked methods for making weight and recovering reducing the health risk associated with extreme cuts Morab's approach to nutrition and recovery reflects the same discipline and relentlessness as his fighting style Structured smart and optimized for performance and endurance Morab eats clean even outside of fight camp to maintain a manageable walkaround weight between 150 and 160 lbs which makes his cut to 135 lbs smoother Marab works with the UFC Performance Institute nutritionist to cut weight safely His method includes gradual calorie reduction not crash dieting carb tapering laten fight week water loading and sodium manipulation and sauna or hot baths for the final water cut Post weigh-eighin he focuses on
