Top Menu:
File Menu:

Key Sections in FL Studio
Browser:
Contains all samples and instruments on your computer.
Channel Rack:
Stores selected samples/instruments for the project and allows for pattern creation.
Playlist:
Where patterns are arranged into a full song.
Mixer:
Routes all audio and allows for sound manipulation effects.
Piano Roll:
For sequencing melodies and chords.
Building Patterns
You build patterns in the Channel Rack and arrange them in the Playlist.
Creating Patterns:
Click the plus icon in the Channel Rack to create and name a pattern.
Color coding for organization is recommended.
Step Sequencer:
Left click to select steps (beats), right click to delete.
Example: Create a four-on-the-floor rhythm with kick.
Arranging in the Playlist
Draw or paint patterns into the Playlist.
Use the
Pattern/Song
toggle to switch between listening modes.

Using the Piano Roll
Right-click a sample in the Channel Rack and select Piano Roll.
