(peaceful piano music) - Here's the key, what differentiates Ettinger Law firm from other firms is once the estate plan is executed, we don't take a buy. Back in '99, I invented a system to track our estate plans. So that if there's a change in the law, the computer can search the whole database, tell us which clients it applies to and send them a letter. So once you get Ettinger documents, you're basically good for life. You never have to worry if they're gonna work. And we publish a law letter, once a week, it's called the Ettinger Elder E-lert. This is information you don't see in a magazine or a newspaper. But very valuable to our clients. The third thing we do, we actually have a breakfast for the clients every two years. At the breakfast, we update them on the law. We invite their next of kin to meet their lawyer. The purpose of the breakfast actually is to build a relationship. We think it has value. We're actually investing in our clients. Every three years, we send each client a letter in the mail. Time to come in for your free review. Now why do we want to see them every three years? Because we have no other way of knowing. Did their health change? Have their assets changed, their family, births, death, marriage, divorces? So the plan keeps getting updated. So you know it's gonna work when the client needs it, not when they wrote it. Lawyers in my field, elder estate planner, are all trained to take a retainer agreement. We have this proposal, it's not a fee agreement, but it's a fee proposal. The proposal says, we're going to go ahead and prepare all these documents and after everything is signed, you pay at the end. But unless and until you write us a check, you have no obligation to the firm, which means the client is in charge. That's the best place for the client to be. And if it's the best place for the client to be, by definition it has to be the best place for us to be. And that's how you end up with a happy client. (peaceful piano music) (computer mouse click)
