10 Tips for Slaying the Spire
1. It All Depends
Situational Awareness: No best class, card, or relic
Adapt to your current situation
Focus on synergy and surviving elite fights
2. Considering Different Paths
Act 1 Pathing: Aim for 3 normal fights + rest site before first elite
Fight 2+ elites, preferably later in the act
Rest sites are valuable for healing or upgrading cards
Act 2 & 3: Path choices depend on the deck, relics, and gold
3. Embrace Elite Fights
Elites: Best source of relics, more predictable than normal fights
Necessary for act 4 heart kill
Sniping with Niao’s Lament can be advantageous
4. Do Not Take Every Card
Keep your deck slim and synergistic
Only add cards that solve a current or upcoming challenge
Frequently assess deck performance and needs
5. Simplify Your Deck
Utilize card removal at shops or events
Remove curses, strikes, blocks, and other non-synergistic cards
Aim for a deck full of impactful cards
6. Get That Card Draw
Importance: Draw more impactful cards consistently
Snekoi relic: Higher win rate due to extra card draw
Slim decks + card draw = Effective scaling
7. Choose the Right Upgrades and Relics
Valuable upgrades: Prioritize cards like Catalyst
Shops: Be judicious in spending gold on relics
Boss relics: Choose wisely for scaling benefits
8. Build in Scaling
Scaling: Match deck power to increasing game difficulty
Energy, card draw, and scaling cards/powers
9. Practice the Things You Don’t Like
Experiment with unfamiliar or uncomfortable options
Example: Boss relic swaps, Runic Dome
Practice: Learn and adapt to optimize strategy
10. Prepare for More Immediate Challenges
Focus on short-term goals within the current act
Evaluate deck vs. upcoming elites and bosses
Develop a thought process for evaluating choices
Conclusion
Focus on pathing, scaling, and making better decisions
