best We Worship You Lord who oh who has a shout in him today anybody oh yeah praise God all right give your neighbor a high five you may be seated everybody everybody everybody praise God well good morning everybody so good to see you and I'm just you know I shouldn't be amazed anymore but I still I'm always amazed you know when I come in this room and see people here this early in the morning seeking God and uh how about we put our hands together and just give God praise for to be a part of a church this is his church come on it's his church praise God and I'm glad to see you today and and I know there's a bunch of you that are uh experiencing this for the first time so only on this day do I take a minute or two longer to orient everybody to this experience my job is to make sure it's a great experience for all you guys that you really able to connect with God let me take a quick moment say hello to our campuses where all 26 locations are joining us right now and we also have we don't even know how many we think it's hundreds and hundreds if not thousands of churches that actually just stream this service into their auditoriums and uh yesterday I was getting texts from um pastors I'm very close to and I'll give a few of those a shout out uh let me Begin by uh one who was our first greatstone campus Pastor uh Josh and Amber kazero they they we sent them out to go plant a church uh in New Orleans everybody they're just they're right near where that tragedy took place y'all say hello to Josh and Amber and one hope one hope Nola good to see you guys and then uh Pastor George and April Davis in Jacksonville Florida at Impact Church dear dear uh to me uh David and Missy Russell they were actually on our staff here as well and they went planted a church in Chattanooga Tennessee called Raj church and they're with us right now and Brandon and Jonica anderton in Mak Georgia Central City Church uh Devon and Ashley web got a text from Debon this morning at 5:03 in the morning uh connect Church in Mount Juliet Tennessee and and last but not least um Les and Angela Harvey at church of the Pines in Tyler Texas now say a big hello everybody all [Music] right isn't that fun isn't it fun to be a part of the greater Body of Christ I mean we're just we're the Capitol c Church we're not Church of the Highlands we're part of something much bigger uh than us and that's a blessing um man my mind's re reminiscing to to the the first 21 days 25 years ago or 24 you know this our 25th time to do this the first one we didn't have any auditoriums we didn't even have a church service yet we were meeting uh in my home around a coffee table with 63,000 mailers that we were going to send out to let everybody know we were planting a church and there were 34 people some of them are right here in the room right now Lane and uh his his family and Cory Hardesty and others were just a part of what God was doing here and I'm just so grateful to the Lord um um it's it's it's very very special it's very very special while we pray for an hour we're going to spend an hour with the Lord we always start by the way with praise and worship which by the way is a part of prayer Psalm 100 enter his Gates into with thanks with Thanksgiving into his courts with praise give thanks to the Lord and bless his name before you ever ask him for anything we already thank Him in Advance for what he's already done and so that's why we prais that was a part of it and then then then we have a few moments in the word of God faith comes by hearing hearing by the word of God faith is what makes prayer work okay Faith is what makes prayer work but what makes Faith work the word of God so we take a just a few minutes and get into the word of God stir our faith we go right back into worship worship is different than praise worship is just connecting straight to the father in a moment we'll sing a song and just worship him with all of our heart and then I'm going to Turn You Loose for about 25 minutes on your own to pray uh I've done everything uh we can to to Resource you there are just tons of resources is up here all the prayer cards from yesterday's connection cards there are larger ones that are the kids there's even some for the correctional facilities up here you you'll notice which ones are which we have prayer guides for children that look like this we have prayer guides for adults that look like this and I've had the material that's in here uh I wrote when I was a youth pastor in Colorado Springs it's just they're just how to pray they're just they're warfare prayers and forgiveness prayers and prayers to Mo models of prayer there's no way you're going to run out of something to pray for okay then I we resource you then we have these excuse me we have these updated Guides of leaders and so these are every every 21 days we update this for the leaders of our country and the leaders of our church and the campus pastors and so grab these and all this is for you to take home just take all this home accept the prayer cards bring those back so we can pray over them again tomorrow okay so keep all of this as the resources for yourself let me give you a few little instructions um for the 25 minutes on your own and one of those is is is I'm encouraging you to pray out loud when you when you just sit and think God knows your thoughts but it's easy for you to get it distracted espec especially with thousands of people in a room it's just easy so just so we'll have music playing and it may be louder than you would find comfortable we do that so people can have privacy okay at the same time don't pray so loud that we you draw attention to yourself cuz we want to keep our eyes on Jesus can I hear a good amen everybody all right second thing is um there you always find out who the Social Butterflies are in the room cuz they like to visit okay if you want to visit that's fine but don't do it in the room take that conversation out into the four years okay I don't mind you being a sanguin uh and just some that's that's okay it's how God made you but uh let the rest of us pray come on somebody all right so and then thirdly don't don't uh walk up and pray for somebody unsolicited if they ask you to pray for them you can pray for each other but don't just walk up to somebody and start you know lay hands on them start praying for them if they didn't ask you to okay I wanted to give you those uh little instructions there that so we are um very very focused I want to bring you um I want to bring you a word just a quick little word and we're going to get right back into worship like I told you our theme of course is the year of new beginnings and every um every day is going to have some idea around New Beginnings but each week of the three weeks we'll have a different focus of where those New Beginnings come from and this week the whole first week is we're going to talk about just a fresh new beginning and our faith in Jesus Christ like we're not we're not going to worry about missionaries we're not going to talk about campuses we're not going to think about the just focusing on our relationship with God can we make that new can we make that fresh can we have a year of new beginnings in our relationship with God and then so today's focus in that week's focus is we're going to focus on Jesus being our Lord our Lord let me read you a verse out of Revelation chapter 19 this is this is near the end of time this this is what the Bible says in verse 11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse whose writer is called faithful and true and with Justice he judges and wages War his eyes are like blazing fire and on his head are many crowns and he has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself he is dressed in a robe dipped in Blood and his name is the word of God God and on his robe and on his thigh he has the name written read it out loud with me every voice king of kings and Lord king of kings and Lord of lords now Jesus is many things we're going to pray those many things he's my provider he's my peace he's my sanctifier man he's the one who's always there he's all these wonderful things but at the top of that list in my mind is is he is king of kings and Lord of lords say it again he is king of kings and that's who he is now one of the other things that he is to us he is savior right and we like him being our savior in fact I probably for most people that's their favorite part of who he is is that he pays for our sins he's my he's my savior but I want you to know that the word savior is mentioned 59 times in the Bible but Lord is mentioned 7,939 times okay so praise God for him being my savior oh save me from my sins I don't have to go to hell I can go to heaven right praise God for that but he really wants to be our Lord and Lord is something much different Lord literally means Master owner the one who has control of my life and I can't think of a better way to start these 21 days then by saying I want to start this year by saying it's not my agenda it's not my plans you're the Lord I I I I belong to you in every way come on everybody Jesus is is Lord he's my king and and it's hard for us that live in democracies to understand that because in a democracy you know it's we the people and I get an opinion and I get a vote and I I'm self-ruled praise God for that when it comes to countries I'm all for it but when it comes to kingdoms a monarchy we're talking about he's the king of kings Lord of lords there's it's it's it's a it's a benevolent dictatorship if you will it's he's the Monarch the father Son and the Holy Spirit and I don't have an opinion or vote I am God ruled not self-ruled say a good amen right there everybody amen I just love starting the Year by saying that's not about me I'll do whatever you want me to do I belong to you and I want to give you one verse and we're going to pray in Philippians chapter 2 that shows you and I think if you just pray this verse you can open your Bible and just pray this verse chapter 2: 5 you must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had that though he was God he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to instead this is what I want us to do today he gave up his Divine privileges he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being and when he appeared in human form he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's death on the cross therefore God elevated him to the place of the highest honor and gave him here it is again the name that is above all other names that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven and on Earth and under the Earth and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is say it out loud he is he's Lord to the glory of the father three things he relinquished his rights Lord you don't owe me anything that's why listen to me I don't come into the first week with any prayer requests just telling you how I do it I'm not here to say Lord this is what okay here we are it's what I need in fact I like to pray Lord you don't owe me anything I relinquish my rights I belong to you what do you need from me can we pray that prayer then humble myself that's what fasting does he humbled himself it's not about me it's all about you and then he lived in obedience whatever you want me to do and I can't think of a better better way to start off this first day this first morning of Prayer by praying those three things stand up on your feet everybody you've heard from me enough it's time to Worship the Lord and put our face in our heart toward Heaven come on we lift up those holy hands everybody and just seek the Lord and just worship him we praise you today Lord God we bless your name we praise you with all of our heart oh we worship you today come on lift those hands and wave them to the Lord God we bless you today and honor you with all of your heart Jesus and blessed are those who run to him confidence in Jesus they won't forsake them bless are those who seek his face who bend their knee and face their Gaze on Jesus they won't be Shen come on and praise the Lord with me sing if you love his name come on and let your voice with me he's worthy of all our praise bless are those who walk with him whose hearts are set on pilgrimage with Jesus they'll see his glory bless that anxiety and fear and stress and worry aren't going to plague my life God no depression no stress God God you've given me the peace peace like a river the peace that passes all understanding God as I offer up my petitions and my anxious thoughts God Lord with Thanksgiving I thank you the peace of God guards my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus today somebody needs to receive receive the peace of God today we worship you you're my peace God thank you Father I bind fear in jesus' name I break the power of worry right now off of people's minds and hearts because you are our peace God lord you today you're my shepherd God you guard me and you lead me and you guide me and you're speaking to me God I'm asking that in these 21 days I become more and more sensitive to your voice John chap 10 your sheep know your voice and I'm turning away from the voice of the devil I'm saying no to sin I'm saying yes to god father I'm following in your way Lord God guide me just protect me lead me I pray let your word be a lamp to my feet a light into my path God I want to stay in the steps of the righteous I pray in Jesus mighty name and I worship you today God you are Jehovah sha you're the Lord who's always there I thank you for the filling of the Holy Spirit I thank you God that the Holy Spirit like a voice that's behind me saying this is the way walk in it I thank you Father for the Holy Spirit guiding me and giving me power and convicting me and showing me your way today Lord God I praise you today and Worship You Lord holy sing it out holy are you Lord are you Lord godm come on tell here God for you to hear what I want I'm here I'm here God for you to tell me what you want I I I focus my heart on your life your agenda your will for my life today and Lord God I humble myself like Jesus did and God I just come and I I push the plate away and I'm pushing the world away for 21 days God so I can seek your face Lord humble myself and pra seek your face turning from my Wicked Ways Lord I want to hear from Heaven forgive my sin feel forgive the sin of our nation Lord forgive the sin Lord God of our of this this generation God heal our land we pray ohmighty God as we come to you humbly seeking your face and Lord I want to be like Jesus and live a life of obedience Lord I'm asking you to speak to me and tell me what you want me to do whatever you want me to do come on say that that phrase whatever you want from me this year God I I I I want to follow your will your way God speak to me I pray Lord we hallow your name we worship your name your kingdom come and your will be done in my life let's walk through the Lord's Prayer together just for a few minutes your kingdom come come on tell him that your will be done in my life God I'm asking for your will in Birmingham and in Alabama I'm asking for your will at church of the highlands your kingdom come your will be done in the United States of America God we're asking for an outpouring of your spirit God in our nation in the mighty name of Jesus would you cry out for our land everybody would you take 30 seconds and just cry out to God lord lord your kingdom come your will be done in our lives I pray God and in our nation in Jesus mighty name oh we seek your face Lord today give us this day our daily bread God we depend dep on you for everything God I'm depending on you for my health I'm depending on you Lord for my provision I'm depending on you for my family God I'm depending on you Lord I need you would you just tell him those beautiful words I need you in 2025 I'm not prepared to enter into this year unless you come with me almighty God I need you for everything I pray and Lord we pray forgive us our debts as we forgive those who have trespassed against us come on just reach up toward heaven right now and ask God to cleanse you from every sin and every addiction and every habit and everything that's gotten into your life that Grieves the Holy Spirit Holy Spirit would you point out the areas of our life that just grieve you and we're repenting of that we're turning our Direction and we're asking you Lord cleanse us from all unrighteousness God I worship you today God that you not only forgive me God you've chosen to forget it and I praise you today God you're an awesome God now Lord I release everybody who's offended me come on everybody get some names in your heart and in your mind right now and Lord I just I'm going to let it go Lord the ones that have offended me and the ones that have hurt me God and the ones that have disappointed me God and those that I've been carrying Lord an account for in my heart God I'm releasing them today and I'm finding freedom in Jesus mighty name Lord I pray God that I'm not LED God today into temptation but Lord you're delivering me from the evil one Lord God you're teaching me how to say no to the devil you're teaching me how to recognize when the enemy throws a trap in my way and I thank you Lord God that you have Set Me Free from every trap of the enemy God lord today I declare you're an awesome God and you're a mighty God lord and I declare victory over the devil in Jesus mighty name and I Praise You Lord let's reach up toward heaven right now and just just express our faith in God's ability your kingdom your glory Lord God for yours is the kingdom yours is the power yours is the glory in Jesus mighty name I
