[Music] born in 1337 in Florence Italy Filippo breski is considered one of the greatest architects interested in mathematics and machines who' become a master architect like no other a Florentine hero Bru's Innovative designs make him known throughout the [Music] world you may know him for the construction of ILO of the Florence cathedral influenced by his studies in Rome of Roman architecture he brought classical order in a new form back to Italy that eventually spreads to all parts of the world one of the first Renaissance designers his legacy lives on through his simple yet ingenious [Music] designs the ospital de inen also known as the founding hospital was breski's first major public commission and construction began in 1419 with a long high poro and a square court with arcades the fing Hospital launches Renaissance architecture in a Revival of classical Antiquity to Italy the reconstruction of the Basilica of San Lorenzo was commissioned by giavanni medich in the 1420s this was breski's first ecclesiastical building in the start of many more to come the style was mathematical in its use of columns in straight lines and flat planes the proportions were worked out in great detail due to his new understanding of [Music] perspective the PSU Chapel is a small Dome church that is inspired by the pantheon the work began in 1429 and was not finished till after breski's death the perfect geometry and stunning design is what makes this Chapel a masterpiece of Renaissance [Music] architecture among bernal's works one stands out above all the rest and as the Dome of the Florence cathedral the struggles behind the Dome also known as ILO can be attributed to the Monumental size of the structure and the fact that it was to be built without any support from the ground the Dome was to be one of the largest ever created far larger than the Dome of ha Sophia the dimensions of the cathedral that were decided upon in 1367 would not be modified as to uphold tradition and respect for the past the Dome was octagonal in shape and therefore would need to be constructed by geometric principles which PL to breski strengths the challenges of this Dome with a need for special scaffolding for the workers in machinery for hoisting materials also developing a dome without support that would not crush the base of the structure was only to be solved by an Innovative structure that breski brings to the table breski plans a double shell design for the Dome that included a lighter outer shell and a thicker inner shell adding strength yet still allowing for height in addition baski Engineers his own tools that are imperative for the success of the Dome the final Stone was laid on August 30th 1436 and the Dome was completed in 16 years of the architect's [Music] life [Music] oh [Music] although breski structures may appear simple they rest on an underlying system of proportion berneski often began with a unit of measurement whose repetition throughout the building created a sense of Harmony he died on April 16th 1446 and was buried in the Cathedral of Florence and a funerary mask is made for him in his honor influencing other desires to come including Michael Angelo braski leaves behind a legacy that still lives on through his Works Still Standing [Music] today [Music] all
