Evasive Techniques in Boxing

if you want to be evasive in boxing you got to have good head movement good footwork and when you combine the two together you even that much harder to hit so in this video I'm going to show you three drills and ways you can put your head movement and footwork together I guarantee it's going to make you that much harder to hit it's going to allow you to set up offense much more effectively all right the first drill is the four-way ducking drill you've seen it this is a video I did 10 years ago with the cross line and the ropes but you don't need the ropes to work it you can just work it out of your regular stance so from here you imagine a slip line behind you I'm gonna duck while going back and then I'm going to duck going back forward again now there's a slip line here to my right I'm going to duck under while going to the right ducking under a lead hook or any other kind of shot I want to get under or just moving to the right I duck under and then I'm gonna go back duck under to the left all right so here in front I go back forward to the right to the left all right from here I go back forward to the right and to the left and I'm going to work this drill I'm gonna if you build up the capacity you want to work it for a round non-stop but you also want to get in a little bit of a pendulum flow with it not just be so flat-footed so here this is how you're gonna actually work it I duck back duck forward to the right to left back forward to the right to left and I can relax for a bit move around if I want back forward right left back forward right left if I want I can start to play with it I can go back back forward right pivot Left Right pivot left left forward forward pivot through back okay I can have my cross my four-way going with me anywhere I want foreign okay but it all starts from this fundamental back forward to the right to the left back forward to the right to the left and you can play with it and mix it up this is the First Fundamental drill ducking while incorporating footwork being much more evasive the second one is a side step with a slip you can work it as a drill for conditioning or you can work it one side at a time for tactical reasons so I go here I slipped to the right and I step to the right this allows me more distance more safety you don't always want that but when you want to be create that angle have a little more safety you slip and step from here I can counter I have a little bit of an angle or I use it to get away same thing here to the left body shot lead hook or from here I use it to Pivot out or from here I use it to get away or from here I use it to switch right here bang so you can work it one at a time right by either moving off or countering right working that or you started working as a flow back and forth here here this is more for conditioning okay really get the legs working okay you work that conditioning once that becomes more natural to you the move or the technique will come easier to you A lot of times you'll hesitate because your body knows it doesn't have the capacity it doesn't want to use up that energy to do it you build up the capacity and then later foreign it's nothing for you okay to put it together and work it together so this is one here you can work it one side other side you can work counters or you work it as a drill to get the head movement the feet synchronized also build up the conditioning all right the third one is to be able to move forward with head movement and footwork together this allows you to cover ground to get inside while moving the head so it starts like this here I slip right I step right but it's a forward step I slip left I step a small step left I slip right left right left right left right left right left right I want to allow myself to just relax and fall okay it's almost like this right but it's left right left right so here I go left right left right left right left right left right and I can punch off any of those we've covered this in another video right Banks yeah I move both feet right right boom right or right left okay I'm able to punch off of that or what I can do is I can punch on it boom which I'll cover in another video but for now here's the basic drill right left I'm stepping forward right left right left right left right left right left can you start to break it fast okay you get yourself forward while moving your head off the center line and from there and set up your offense but it all starts from that drill being able to go here here here here you gotta be able to get that head movement going with the feet if you don't have that the rest of it's not going to happen for you so you synchronize head movement footwork going forward with that forward movement step and slip drill that's drill number three if you like this video guys you'll definitely like the membership on this channel most likely level three training camps I have I have a head movement training camp there five days of just working head movement and drills and tactics and combos but I have a whole bunch of other ones footwork counter punching overall training work rate I just created another one fighting on the
