Notes on Getting into NUS and NTU

Introduction

Speaker is a second-year student studying Business and Computer Science at NTU.
Video divided into two parts:
- Admission procedure
- Scholarships and bonds (3-year and 6-year)

Most important factor in application: 12th Board Marks
- All boards (ISC, CBSE, State) considered.
- Popular majors like Computer Science and EEE have higher cut-offs (generally around 95%).
- Cut-offs for double major programs are higher than single ones.
Application Timeline:
- Applications open: October-November
- Applications close: March
Application steps:
1. Fill in an online application with contact info, program choices, and achievements.
2. Pay the application fee:
  - NUS: 30 SGD (approx. 1,800 INR)
  - NTU: 20 SGD (approx. 1,200 INR)
3. Receive acknowledgment email with login credentials to the application portal.
Submit 12th board results within 3 days of release.
Admission decisions released by mid/late June.

No essay or SOP required for NUS and NTU.
Strong extracurriculars boost admission chances:
- International/national level achievements
- Olympiad medals
- National level athletes
- Speaker got in only with 12th marks without notable extracurriculars.

SAT and English Exams (TOEFL):
- Not required if from English medium school.
- SAT required for state board students.
Eligibility:
- Students from all state boards in India can apply.

Math required for certain majors (e.g., Computer Science) along with one Science subject.
Check subject requirements by searching for "NUS [your major] admission requirements".

Once offer is received, access student visa application via university portal.
Fill out online application for student pass.
Receive IPA (In-Principle Approval) after 2 weeks, which is a single-entry visa for Singapore.
Obtain student pass upon arrival, which serves as a multi-visit visa.
