Overview
This lecture provides an orientation to Expert TA, covering system navigation, assignment management, and grading policies for students.
Expert TA Homepage & Resources
- The Expert TA homepage includes access to student resources like videos and instruction manuals under the support tab.
- Students log in to their accounts from the homepage to access course materials.
Class Management Page Features
- The class management page serves as the main dashboard for assignments, grade reports, and class information.
- Students can edit their profile and change passwords via the "My Account" option.
- The "Classes" dropdown displays current and past enrolled classes.
- Under the class menu, students can view grades and access the Student Practice Area.
- The Student Practice Area provides unlimited practice problems without affecting grades.
- The class notes area at the bottom of the page displays instructor updates and messages.
Assignment Management & Grading
- The assignment list shows all available assignments with start, due, and end dates.
- Assignments submitted after the due date but before the end date are graded as late work.
- Assignment status shows if work has been completed, partially completed, or not submitted.
- Clicking on an assignment name shows options to take the assignment, view a printable version, see detailed grade reports, and view individual problem grades.
- Instructors set grading preferences, including point deductions for submissions, hints, feedback, late work, and accessing correct answers.
- Students should contact their instructor for questions about point deductions.
Taking Assignments
- To take an assignment, select the assignment from the list and click "Take Assignment."
- Problems appear with associated images, and a problem list enables easy navigation between problems.
