welcome to expert TA we are excited about the upcoming semester and hope you are as well this video will provide you with a brief orientation of expertise and cover everything you need to know about using the system and completing assignments for the semester after the video there will be a series of questions for you to answer this is the expert TA homepage you can find additional student resources like videos and instruction manuals under the support tab listed here you can also log in from the expert ta home page when you log into your account you'll be taken to the class management page this will be your main dashboard and expert ta where you will complete assignments access grade reports and more before we look at the different points and clicks of the class management page let's take a quick look at how you'll be graded on assignments this semester this is the instructor grade preference page this is where your instructor will decide how each assignment is graded you can see that instructors decide the deductions associated with submission attempts accessing hints and feedback late work and accessing the correct answer if you have any questions about the point deductions for your assignments this semester please contact your instructor now that you have an understanding of how you'll be graded on assignments this semester let's take a look at the class management page you can edit your profile and change your password by selecting my account in the top right corner of the screen under the classes drop-down menu you can see the class you are currently registered in as well as any past or current classes you might be enrolled in using expert TA under the class menu drop-down you have the option to view your grades and access the student practice area in the student practice area you have access to practice problems that you can work as many times as you would like without counting towards your grade at the bottom of the page you will notice a class notes area where your instructor can post class updates and messages you can see all the assignments available to you under the assignment list the list will tell you the start date due date and end date for each assignment if your instructor allows for late work to be some did any work completely between the due date and end date will be great as late work you also see the assignment status letting you know if you have completed partially completed or not submitted any work for the assignment to view the different options you have for a particular assignment click on the assignment name this will give you the option to take the assignment view a printable version of the assignment do your detailed grade report and the grades for each individual problem in that assignment let's take a quick look at taking an assignment in your assignment list click on the desired assignment and select take assignment once you have chosen to take the assignment you will be presented with the problem statement in any image associated with the problem on the left hand side of the screen you will see a problem list that will allow you to easily navigate between problems in this assignment this has been a brief overview of the class management and take assignment areas of the expert ta system
