when you come to alzas a great first stop is the adorable village of riboville inside which you will find the iconic house of trimbok this is a great place to go because you can taste all the classic alsace grapes in one stop they're really well known in the u.s for a good reason the quality is impeccable but come taste them here in person it's a blast and inside the tasting room is a great place to taste all the core grape varieties of alsace in one stop pinot blanc riesling pinot gris and gewurztraminer so you can lock in all four classic grapes on your first stop i always say to people you have to taste the wine to know it and if you can taste it where it's made you'll never forget it so somebody's coming to alsace to visit what should they know we have a great restaurant scene in alsace we have among the top restaurants in france so there is a lot to do a lot to eat a lot to taste and certainly a lot to visit so when you come here to visit you're going to go to the restaurants then you can also take beautiful walks on the trails and in the in the mountains to burn off the calories right absolutely we have a great museum in colmar we have the most beautiful vintage car museum in mulus which is the biggest car museum in the world we have some wonderful villages to visit i mean you can easily spend a week in alsace can we come here to visit you preferably with an appointment so just send us an email or a little phone but of course you can another great winery to visit in alsace is domain weinbach a true traditionalist in the town of kintheim it's beautiful and when you get to taste the wines you'll love them and be sure to visit another of my favorite wineries in alsace zind homebrest you can visit quite a few wineries some for some of them please do take an appointment but wine tours and wine visits are extraordinary i think and i'm quite proud to say it the az winery is one of the prettiest uh in the world there's not many wine roots that can you know match the authenticity the old villages the scenery and all that you can do there take a moment to send an email and make an appointment you'll have a great visit the region of alzas is a string of absolutely charming villages like this one il hoisern it's also a capital of gastronomy with more michelin stars per capita than in all of france and the world with the crown jewel being right here the auberge de lille where chef mark heberlin whips up some amazing specialties we have been voted now i think for two or three years the area in france with the highest number of michelin star restaurant for the local population so you can program a pretty good you know gastronomical trip so die a little bit before you come here because you eat very well so when you come here you will drink well and you'll eat well so save your pennies and diet ahead of time hey the bells are ringing that means it's lunch time i'm getting hungry oh the wine the food of al's ass we have really cleaned our plates this week but to work off those calories you can hike the vineyard trails it's easy to get a map of the trails and why work out in a gym this is a great way to get the most out of your travel dollars take in the scenery and in al'sas it's every bit as good as the food and the wine a great last stop on your visit to alsace wine country is right here in marlinheim at arthur metz it's just 20 minutes from the strasbourg train station and what better send-off than sparkling wine my favorite style the alsace version is called cremont alsace and arthur metz does it right let's go taste it i love sparkling wine so i'm thrilled that here in alsace they make a local version in the traditional method called craymont dell's ass cremont just means creamy like the bubbles they make them from the classic grapes a rose from pinot noir and a blanc de blanc from chardonnay but they also make them from the local traditional grapes like this michelle leon by arthur metz made from pinot blanc that's really worth checking out and actually the category is because they are an amazing value for the quality so for 15 to twenty dollars broadly available try the alcest grapes with bubbles my favorite's the chardonnay well maybe the rose i don't know i love them all many many people usually when they start traveling to france they start eventually to travel to paris or to champaign or maybe to bordeaux and only afterwards i feel after one or two trips they come to aliza's and they they all go like oh my god if i had known that before they would have started with alzas so it's still a well-kept secret but little by little alsace is getting world-renowned so on the town in alsace it's just two hours and 15 minutes from paris on the tgv try all the classic grapes and the sparkling daily tastings
