InVision's Remote Work and Onboarding Insights

invision were 100% remote meaning we have no offices for all about 850 employees and it presents a whole bunch of wonderful things and opportunities to be progressive with talent we can hire wherever we want but it comes with it a bunch of challenges that you don't often realize especially at the beginning we can't walk a room or walk a floor in a workplace and take the temperature of that culture so for us the the crucial component for what culture amp brings that it's like that check-in that lets us use data to compensate for not being all the same place for us the most important thing about looking at really focusing attention on onboarding with culture amps helped was to look at if people had a great onboarding experience did that lead to longer term engagement and longer term performance when we connected the two parts of the platform the performance data and engagement data the thing that really struck me in my team was how high of an impact a good early experience has on not just that say week or month but much longer than that how high of an impact it has on people's productivity and engagement long term so when we connected the two data sources from performance and and from engagement specific to the problem of onboarding what we found was it confirmed some things about what we hoped and believed to be true that people had a great on burning experience ended up being more productive but the the depth and the power of what it confirmed was really interesting for us someone who felt literally within the first three days that they were helped to get productive by virtue of their their early entry into envision was four times more likely to be to be productive long term the idea that if I felt that I knew what it was expected of me early in my journey as an employee my likelihood of being performant later on went up again like multiple factors over we are often asked about ROI so you know we're a cost Center and can we contribute to the value of the business this kind of data that shows that something we're doing that's a very specific induction program or onboarding program for new employees is actually making them more productive if it's done well is a way to really justify the focus that we're putting on onboarding so when I think about the power of the foresight engine from culture amp it's bringing all sorts of different data into the problem of continuously acting watching and then revising more action so that ultimately you're you're really engaged in helping the organization change and you're getting real-time data throughout that process of seeing how your actions are impacting that change I'm sure that my team with culture amp will find that there's more examples of these critical moments along the employee journey we're putting effort into developing something that's really special for you know each team member has it has a really big payoff and that's the kind of stuff that I'm looking forward to diving into next
