How to Replace the Front Grill on a Ford F-150
Tools and Materials Needed
10 mm Nuts
T25 Screws
Trim Tool (preferably plastic to avoid scratches)
Double-sided tape or special sticky foam (for badge reattachment)
Steps to Remove Old Grill
Step 1: Remove Nuts and Screws
Remove 10 mm Nuts:
There are six 10 mm nuts at the top of the grill that need to be removed.
Remove T25 Screws:
Six T25 screws are located at the bottom, holding the grill onto the brace.
Step 2: Detach Grill from Hood
Use Trim Tool:
Metal clips along the top need to be disengaged. Use a plastic trim tool to pry the grill off if necessary.
Protect the hood paint by using tape if you're concerned about scratches.
Removing and Reusing the Badge
Badge Removal:
The badge is held by three plastic pins (two with tabs).
Pry the tabs up while pushing down on the badge to release it.
Badge Reattachment:
Use double-sided tape or provided sticky foam to attach the badge to a new grill.
Ensure the badge is seated properly.
Installing the New Grill
Step 1: Align and Secure the Grill
Align Push Clips:
Line up the push clips on the grill with the holes in the hood.
Press the grill into place.
Step 2: Secure the Grill with Screws and Nuts
Install Lower Screws:
Start by securing the lower screws. Ensure they are snug but avoid overtightening to prevent stripping.
Install Upper Nuts:
Reattach the six 10 mm nuts at the top.
