Storytelling Through a 56-Card Deck

this is probably my favorite investment of 2022 and I've bought a lot of cool things but there has been nothing more valuable than this simple 56 card deck that helps you tell stories that people love and I've been using it for pretty much all of the videos that I post on social media whether it's Instagram Tick Tock or even YouTube so in this video I want to break down what it is what it does how to use it and the results that I've gotten and then hopefully convince you that it's worth the investment now I said I would bring up results within the first three videos that I posted after using the strategies that I just showed you I actually had a video get over 200 000 views in 90 minutes all from telling stories so 56 cards and they're all connected and where you kind of want to start with this is just first understanding how you are supposed to structure a story so what we're gonna do is just kind of outline the best way that I've found to structure stories and we're going to use a red card a purple card and a green card so let's assume the answer to the first question here is no and we're just going to go right to the red card as a concept card called the dragon and the city so it sounds kind of corny but this is kind of how you have to think about how stories are structured so there's a dragon that's outside of your city walls and your city is no longer safe what should you do should you escape and find a safer place to live should you defend the city and strengthen the city walls should you attack the dragon and then hopefully that he doesn't get stronger you know each option has risks and rewards just like your theoretical project that you're doing so you have to start to think about what is your city what is your dragon and if you were to escape defend or attack what would that look like in the context of your story and once you've kind of got all of that written down and again there's multiple red cards so it doesn't just have to be the dragon and the city but once we kind of have that aligned with what we want to take place in our story we then have to figure out what our story needs to do and in that case we'll go to a green card and this is honestly my favorite card in the deck because it uses the pop method that I love the problem opportunity practical steps and promise and in this card we're actually going to take that dragon and the city analogy and apply it to something that applies in real life so we'll start with a problem and we'll say that in our case of the dragon and the city the dragon represents bad health and maybe a bad diet and instead of attacking the dragon before it gets stronger what we're gonna do is escape and find a safer place to live and in this case we're going to talk about getting in shape going to the gym and having a healthier diet so that would be our opportunity and from the opportunity we go to practical steps and practical steps just means it's going to take a long time for us to get away from the dragon and move into a new city and settle there and set everything up but once we get there and once we're all settled the dragon will never be able to reach us so problem opportunity practical steps and promise and again the problem is bad Health the opportunity is that if we were to start going to the gym and eating cleaner then we're going to get away from the dragon and practical steps here is that it's going to take a long time for us to get in shape because working out and eating healthy is a long journey so it's not going to be easy but once we get away from the bad food and start exercising a lot more we're going to be in a lot better shape and not only that but we're going to feel a lot more comfortable in our own body now that we know the answers to why we need a story and also what our story needs to do and in our case it would be to convince people to start living a healthier lifestyle we then need to know how to tell our story because boring stories don't hold an audience's attention so in this case we're going to go to a pink card and this pink card is movie time so tell me a story and a little movie starts playing in my head I literally see what you mean and this is kind of where being a good writer or at least practicing writing every day comes into play so we want to jump right into it right where are we what is happening what happens next that's the action key or we can do emotion who was involved what is at stake and how does it feel so we can just use emotion for our example who was involved obviously the person who is living an unhealthy life what is at stake maybe even a shortened life expectancy or health problems that persist over the course of their life and how does it feel and in our case it would feel kind of depressing and you know you're kind of Uncertain where you are health-wise and you maybe lack the motivation to go to the gym so once we have all those questions answered it starts to become a lot easier to tell a story you want to ask yourself what is the movie playing in this person's head so we could say I went to the doctor and the doctor sits me down after a blood test and they're like listen you know all of your blood results they look good except for a few things and I think it probably just has to do with diet and those few things might like after that you can literally picture yourself sitting in the doctor's office the doctor's talking to you going through your blood results like that's how you want to tell a story it's how it's what convinces people to do things so at that point you've got your story structured and packaged and it's all just from three cards now of course if your answer is no to any of the other questions on this card you can browse through the 56 cards here and there is no way you won't come out of this with the ability to really play a movie in somebody else's head which is ultimately what's what keeps people engaged over time as you get better and better and better at telling stories it not only grows your community but it gets people connected to what you're saying because they know you went through that so I really encourage you if you want to make a small investment in your business this is probably the best way to do it you don't have to go out and spend 2500 on a MacBook 300 on a microphone just get this Storyteller tactics
