  • Problem: 2 men and 3 women complete a work in 15 days. How long will 6 men and 9 women take?
  • Solution:
    • Multiply both sides by a factor of 3.
    • Result: 15 days / 3 = 5 days

Question 2

  • Problem: 6 men and 8 women complete a work in 10 days. How long for 15 men and 20 women?
  • Solution:
    • Multiply both sides by 2.5.
    • Convert 2.5 to fraction: 5/2.
    • Result: 10 days / 2.5 = 4 days

Question 3

  • Problem: Ages of A and B are in the ratio of 3:5; 9 years ago the ratio was 12:23. What is A's present age?
  • Solution:
    • Assume A's age = 3x, B's age = 5x.
    • Check factors of 3.
    • Result: Present age of A = 24 years
