my name is Cardinal Mason and what you're looking at right now on screen are four copywriters who combined last month made a little over $600,000 and you're also looking at4 million dollars worth of watches I brought everyone together today to do the biggest free course to ever be available on YouTube for Powerhouse copywriters that are all making money and we're going to teach you to do the same I'm going to break down the basics and fundamentals of everything you need to know to start from zero Griffin's going to talk about some Advanced writing techniques that you can use to be really really persuasive cuz he's probably one of the best direct response writers on the market right now Bose going to talk about different types of funnels that you can make for your clients and how you can squeeze every dollar out of any audience ever and Ben is going to talk about how he makes consistently six figures a month with his business which is mostly copyrighting plus some other stuff that makes him very wealthy the point of this video is to give you a resource that you can access for $0 if you've ever been interested in starting copyrighting ever been interested in making money online this is going to cover everything you're going to need so sit back relax watch this multiple times take notes save this thing like it subscribe let's get into it all right welcome to the free copyrighting course as I mentioned the goal for this is to give you enough information than if you have no money to invest in anything online products or coaching programs that can help you accelerate your path as a copywriter this should be enough there's a lot we're going to cover and I will genuinely do my best to make it as valuable for you as possible before we go into the actual content course content let me just tell you something I can't see you through the camera so I'm kind of going to make a guess on who's watching I'm going to assume you're past the point of thinking that like online money is a scam and you have a truly open mind going into this you're trying to find something that can work for you copyrighting as a business model is probably the single best thing that you can get into for a couple of reasons number one it doesn't cost you any money to get into it you're not buying inventory you're not paying for ads like if you were a drop shipper it also doesn't require you to potentially lose money like with trading a lot of people get into trading think they're going to get rich they lose money for 3 years until they start actually making a profit you also don't need employees or a degree this is something you can do completely by yourself as long as you have the skill of writing and a laptop also another thing that should help you sort of get your mind around the fact that you can do this is that the success rate for copyrighting is very high again with trading or drop shipping it feels like there's very few people who are like really making money with it you're either unprofitable losing money all the time not making anything or you're making you know a million dollars a year living big and you got a Lambo copyrighting is not like that I have a ton of people who've learned from me directly or indirectly who make even 3 to 5K a month online with copyrighting they're not trying to get rich this is something that like normal people are doing and this is like their job and there are so many opportunities to go around this is not going to become saturated there's way too many businesses in the world for that to ever happen you have the people that kind of don't take it seriously just do a part-time 3 to 5K a month you have people who are like kind of starting their career with it they're like 8 to 15K a month there's a lot of those and then you have people that are like me or the other people who are going to do this course with me like Bo Ben or Griff and they're making close to a million dollars a year if not more you can make as little or as much money as you want to you can work like an hour a day day and make a little bit of money or you can work you know 9 hours a day and make all of the money and the thing that held me back from starting copyrighting when I first started was I didn't know if it was actually guaranteed to work I didn't want to start because I thought well what if I do it and dump a bunch of time into it and nothing ever happens what if I just waste all my time you can just get that out of your head and just understand that this is going to work like it's going to work it's about how much time you put in and about how willing you are to actually do this if you can get past the first few months of like the hard stuff I promise this will be a very fruitful career for a lot of you all right so let's jump what is copyrighting copyrighting just means sales in print so the same way you have people that sell stuff over the phone or in person or door too trying to get people to buy stuff a copywriter is doing the same thing that A salesperson would except they're just doing it with the written word why do they call it copywriting is because back in the day when this word became a thing you were writing ads and then you were copying it so you could just distribute across town back when before there was internet so a copywriter is just writing words that sell to help a business make more money now what is a copywriter actually writing well think of all the ways that businesses make money they have a website that sells their stuff they have ads they have the video that goes inside of those ads sometimes they have people making what's called organic content where it's not an ad it's just someone posts a video on Tik Tok or Instagram or whatever YouTube shorts that's trying to sell a product you have marketing emails and you have marketing text messages I guarantee you get those all the time basically any word produced by a business is written by a copywriter and the reason they get paid so well is because if you learn to write a certain way then you will make way more money for that business than if a non- copyr wrote it the better you are at the skill of copyrighting the more you'll be able to sell for these businesses and the more money you can make and for the model of freelance copyrighting when people say that they actually do this they're not just doing it for one company you can but that would just be a job you wouldn't be a freelancer the reason Freelancers make so much money is because they have a way where they can write copy for a bunch of different businesses so instead of just making 60k a year working for one company you can make 5K a month from each business that you work with and work with 10 companies the way works is when you get a client they'll pay you a bunch of money usually between $2 and $55,000 every single month for a set number of deliverables and so it really does depend on the company it depends on the deal you work out with them but some companies are going to want an email a week some want an email a day some want an email every day but they also want ads and they want you to redo their website every month and maybe they need a bunch of scripts for that organic you know Tik Tok short form marketing thing that I was talking about they pay you to do it and then you send over that stuff to the client and you can do it from wherever you want you can do it from your house you can do it from the coffee shop you can do it from the beach don't do it from the beach it sucks but you're remote you can do it whever you want it's all submitted online that's how people make money so what types of businesses actually need copywriters I mean the short answer is every business needs copywriters every single business in the world is trying to make more money and they need sales so it doesn't matter what the business is there's always something you could do for them but what I've done and what I tell everyone is to stick to the big three e-commerce info products and SAS software so e-commerce is like when people sell physical products online you have clothing brands like fashion Nova you have sporting good brands like crossnet or uball you have Fitness stuff like young La aloe vori Lululemon all these companies sell clothes or physical products whatever online these companies are running a lot of ads they're writing a lot of emails they're doing SMS marketing they have a ton of pages on their website where you have like the main page and then for every individual product you also have like the product description and a bunch of copy Elsewhere on the page very lucrative clients because they usually make a lot of money and there's so much for you to do then you have info product Brands what's an info product is basically anything digital digital products information that's what it is people that sell courses coaching programs little discords communities Consulting all the people that sell stuff that doesn't have to get shipped to your house that's info products these are great clients to have because usually the people that are running these businesses they make a lot of money and they don't have a big team so an e-commerce brand that makes 100K a month they probably have like 10 people working for them you're not directly dealing with the founder you might be talking to a marketing manager if if that's who you're working with they don't usually have a ton of money left over to pay you the best e-commerce Brands to sign are the ones that are doing like 5 plus million a year cuz then they can afford your retainer with info products it's different for an info product doing 100K a month they might only have like $5,000 a month of overhead which means they have plenty of money to pay you the way that they make money is sometimes ads CU they don't usually rely on ads most of the time but you can do that for them they really rely heavily on email and SMS again they do have a website but it's different because it's not really called a website it's usually called a sales page a funnel which we'll talk about more and then this is where you get a lot of organic marketing stuff so you could script out reals or or Tik toks for them and maybe even scripting out long form YouTube videos these are the easiest clients to have and by far the most fun to work with now the third of the big three is SAS which is a acronym that stands for software as a service now the reason these are good clients to have is because nobody's really working with SAS companies so it's kind of like a big blue ocean they also usually have pretty good margins because all they have to do is pay Engineers to keep the product alive and they're also super legit companies like the people that are working for a SAS are really smart great to have in your network every SAS client I've ever had I've learned a lot from them downsides can be that maybe it's a little over your head maybe you don't have a ton of technical knowledge you don't know how to write for a sass then you might not do very well they require a bit more professionalism usually so if you can't write sort of how they talk kind of like a tech nerd then you might not do well other than that easy clients you'll be fun most of the time what they need is a ton of email usually running ads too and also I found that they usually rely on blog posts too so you know those articles that you see online where it's like five best apps to use for this thing SAS companies use those to get customers and that's usually really helpful for them so if you can write little listicles like that that's what cators do as well that'll be easy now let's talk about actually getting good at writing copy like what does it really take in order to get someone to buy something using only the written word now I'm going to show you but there's a couple things that I want you to do first for background knowledge I want you to read a book which I know I'm asking a lot but it's worth it for as long as I've been talking about copyrighting online I've recommended this book called cashvertising by Drew Eric Whitman the reason for this is because Drew Eric Whitman he's a copywriter is a really good marketer and in this book he's broken down the elements of persuasion how to really get people in a position to buy the key levers that you can pull when sort of getting someone into making a buying decision I'm just like teaching you all about psychology so that you can really manipulate people into getting the sale and when I say manipulate it's not a bad thing I'm not talking about like gaslighting them that this just the way that sales works it's not a bad thing as long as your product is good and that's what this book talks about I read it when I first started I make all of my students read it it's really really good there's a ton of copyrighting books and you can read all of them if you want but don't procrastinate okay this is like sort of the big book of everything that matters and if you just get through that you'll have a really solid understanding of what copywriting is and what's asked of you when you're writing this stuff the second thing I want you to do is go on Instagram or Facebook or wherever you spend a lot of time online and just scroll through and try to find ads like actively seek out ads you're going to find those you know in between stories and you're going to see them in your feed on Instagram and for every single ad that you see I want you to do a couple things I want you to pay attention to what they're trying to sell you and how they're selling it to you watch what the person in the ad is saying and see if you can try and figure out why they're saying what they're saying and then once you've kind of broken down the ad click on it go to the website read the copy on the website and you can either take a screenshot of it on your phone or you can save the link and put it in like a little folder and then if they have an email list like a newsletter sign up for that using like a burner address like just make a random email address and that's going to be the email that you sign up to all these newsletters with so you can read this stuff and see what copyrighting actually looks like because until you consciously do it you're not going to really know what copyrighting is you got to read it you got to seek it out in the world cuz it's already there and then you'll start to realize that everything is copyrighting now real quick I'm going to break down two very very basic writing formulas that you can use when you're trying to write copy I'm going to let Griff go over the more advanced stuff but I just want to give you a very foundational level of knowledge of this stuff so that the rest makes sense all right so you can see my screen now I'm going to show you this real quick all right so we're in Google doc which is by the way where all copy is written and the two formulas that I want to show you are Ada and PAs okay so Ada stands for attention interest desire action okay Pas stands for problem agitation solution the way this us usually looks is with Ada that's usually used for ads so think about it the most important part of anything when you're trying to sell anything is to get someone's attention we live in literally an attention economy if you don't get someone's attention you're not going to make any money and honestly it's never really been harder to get people's attention because of how cooked everyone's brain cells are like most people have zero attention span anymore so this is by far the most important part so you have the attention part which is also called a hook so let's craft and add together Let's Pretend We're doing it for like a fitness coaching thing which by the way would be an info product the hook has to be something shocking enough where people are going to stop scrolling and see what you're saying something like do you want to know the secret method I use to shed 25 pounds of fat in just 60 days that's a hell of a hook because a lot of people are fat and they want to lose weight and they want to do it quick now you're at interest so how do you get people even more invested in the stuff that you're saying so now we're building interest we're building trust we're really trying to convince people that we have something that they want I put losing weight is never supposed to be easy but 99% of people make it 10 times harder on themselves than they should I believe that the only reason that 60% of Americans are overweight is because they've gotten bad information for the last three decades and I want to change that right now now we're going to go to the desire part we want to build up something inside of these people that makes them really want to spend money on a solution because this person is so good this ad is really changing the way they think so we got I've helped 200 people lose at least 25 PBS in the last two years but that's not that impressive with this method I've never heard a single person complain about it being too hard or too much work this is 100% the easiest way to do this you don't need a crazy exercise or diet plan and you don't need to torture yourself just to get the body of your dreams none of my clients have done that and you don't have to either so right now if you're fat you're thinking oh my God wait so I can lose weight it's only going to take 60 days and I don't need a crazy diet or exercise plan they're at least curious enough to find out more and if they're really desperate they're going to they're going to want to buy this thing so now that they want to buy it that's when action comes in so I got the action or call to action is what it's usually called so we got I put together a mini crash course on how my clients have lost weight quick and kept it off and I want to give it to you for the best price I've ever offered that if you click the link right now you get access to this for just $17 I'm only going to give you the price for another 48 hours so act fast click now enroll and feels what it feels like to have a body that you're actually proud of okay so let's just break down what what just happened here so we got by the way is this the greatest copy in the world no I'm just doing this for the purpose of showing you an exaggerated version of what this stuff is supposed to look like side note if you ran this ad on Facebook it would 100% get denied you are this is not compliant you can't make claims like this I'm just showing you kind of what it's supposed to look like so you're saying what the thing is that you're actually selling this this is part of the action right so I have crash course whatever and then you're getting it's the best price that you're going to get of that so that's part of the value ad it's only 17 bucks that's pretty cheap compared to a lot of the stuff that people sell online so you're providing value because it's like it's how to lose weight quick you got the social proof of how my clients have lost weight quick you have a really good price so basically discount that's part of the offer and then you also have uh like urgency so you're going to hear this a lot SC scarcity urgency sometimes for scarcity it's like I only have five of these I'm only giving this to five more people you see that sometimes urgency is I'm only going to do this for five more hours so that's basically what she's doing or or whoever this person is I'm picturing a woman in my head another 48 hours so act fast just another reason people to buy right now click enroll and then I sort of remind people what the main benefit is and feel what it feels like to have a body that you're actually proud of okay so this is Ada this is good for when you're trying to get people who don't really know who you are and you know don't know anything about you and you're trying to just grab their attention and sell them something right there Pas is for when you already have their attention and this is usually with like an email list right so all not all of my emails but most of the emails that I write follow Pas kind of loosely the reason you can do this because with email people have opted in they already like you they already kind of trust you and so you know you don't have to like get their attention every single time sometimes yeah with your subject line obviously you have to have a reason to open the email but you already have their attention you're not fighting for their attention so with this Pas problem agitation solution all you're trying to do is point out a problem that they have okay that they've been experiencing in their life trying to make it sound really really bad and make them really feel it pull pain out of them and then the solution is your product and you're basically saying I can take away this pain you don't have to do this just buy this thing all right and as long as you can make the pain feel more painful than whatever you're going to have to spend on it cuz you know sometimes spending 17 bucks is a little bit painful as long as you can make the pain of their problem more painful than you know pulling out their card and paying you then you're going to have yourself sale just for the sake of Simplicity let's keep the product the exact same so it's just an email for this imaginary fake influencer that's selling a $17 like dream body program and because an email is going to take me like 20 minutes to write for an imaginary thing that I don't even know what it is I'm just going to give you like sort of the the most important parts I'm not going to write a whole email for you we can do that later okay so we got the start of an email we got hey name it's Sarah from fake imaginary influenzer dream Body Inc a lot of people talk about how the worst part of being overweight is that your organs will start to fail and you have a high mortality rate obviously we all want to live longer and be healthier but that doesn't really affect our day-to-day for being honest it's not top of mind what is top of mind is your complete lack of confidence in every aspect of your life so this is the problem here right this is how we let up to it the problem is if you're fat you have no confidence okay um by the way I know this is not that it's this is not like a Stell email in any sense of the word but like what's important is we identified what the problem is all right so we led up to it and we have it right here but you can't just go and say like if you want more confidence you know buy the $17 thing you that's not enough you need to really dig into like what does it look like to be unconfident like how does that really affect your life like what does that feel like how can can you like go in there as a copywriter and really twist the knife so these people are like [ __ ] my life sucks okay so we got agitation here and I know I said before that this email kind of suck but I think what I just I I just cooked so this is the agitation I remember when I was 28 lbs a few years ago it was the saddest I've ever been because I was so socially starved I didn't want to leave the house I was so self-conscious of how I looked and how ugly I thought I was that I just assumed everyone else had the same thoughts about me I literally thought that every person I talked to saw me the way I saw myself now imagine talking to someone that thinks you're ugly and disgusting but hasn't said it out loud imagine how you'd feel in a conversation like that obviously that wasn't true but that's how I felt it made me so quiet shy and fearful of talking to anyone even my close friends now that I'm 78 lbs lighter I feel beautiful and now humbly I assume everyone else sees me the same way imagine how you'd feel if you knew the person you were talking to thought you were hot you'd speak to them a lot differently now I feel like I literally ooze confidence everywhere I go I walk differently I talk differently every experience in my life is elevated now that I have the body I've always wanted you see how visual we get over here you see how like you like when you're reading this you really think like oh man it must suck to be fat even if you're not fat and if you are fat and you do have this problem you're thinking like holy [ __ ] that's true I want to have the experience that she has 78 lbs lighter now a couple notes just side things while we're doing this see how I kind of write line by line like this like I just break up all these ideas this is the most effective way to write anything I don't know if you were taught that you need to do like big [ __ ] MLA style paragraphs n those are a challenge to read no one's going to actually read that thing so break it down line by line make it really easy to read basically every new idea just b b b also I have grammarly grammarly used to be really good and now it seems like it kind of nitpicks me like why can't I say literally here grammarly is good for stuff like this right so this actually should be affect instead of effect effect and like anytime there's like a a red line it's usually right you can ignore the blue and yellow and purple ones because they're just trying to make you lose your sauce so now that we've agitated let's go for the solution so all right so we got solution here I wish every person in the world could feel the way I feel after having lost all this weight shut up this is correct shut up and that's why that's what I'm trying to do with my mini crash course and I kind of sped through this bit I've created the $17 resources uh three months ago and I've already had over a dozen people telling me that they've lost 25 plus pounds in only 2 months and it didn't even feel like a challenge it's got benefit benefit benefit and it's probably the best product online right now for losing weight quick getting the body of your dreams click this link here and I would just hyperlink it and grab your copy before the price goes up all right so these are the two formulas that basically feed everything that I do you could never do anything else and just do this and you'd probably be fine now when it comes to getting clients this is obviously the most important part because you can be a great copywriter but if you don't have any clients you're not going to make any money I have this video on getting clients that is so so good it's so in-depth it's so thorough I posted this video on my YouTube about a month ago and it is probably one of the best videos on my channel I wouldn't change anything about it it's still the strategy it's still the stuff you should do we got where to find clients the stuff you can say when you're trying to do Outreach and if you want to watch that video I got it linked right here it's going to change your life all right so now that you know where to find these clients and how to do Outreach now you're on a sales call and there's a bunch of stuff I can tell you about a sales call but here's the most important stuff don't be nervous and don't talk too much the reason you're nervous is because you think it's a job interview and you think that they're fully in charge of are they going to hire you or not no because you didn't like apply for a job you're not going through like their own systems and processes they're looking at you as basically an expert the reason you're on a call with them is because they think that you know more about something than they do so don't stress about that it'll be fine also you should be letting your client do way more of the talking the structure should be like a little bit of banter at the beginning and then you're going to ask them questions and you want their answer aners to those questions to be as long as possible like you want them to be like spilling their heart out about their business talking about stuff but really the stuff you want to ask is basically how long have you been running this business roughly how much you making right now what's holding you back from making more which tasks take the most time for them like what what are they kind of want to get rid of you're just learning stuff about them so that you can actually make a tailored pitch to them they're also probably going to ask you a bunch of questions about like how would this actually help me which you already know how this going to work they're going to be like oh why do I need email and you just saw in the last part that it makes up a ton ton of their revenue and they they have so many people that are interested enough to buy but just haven't had a reason to buy yet that's what email's for so you're going to explain all this stuff and they're going to be super happy with it and once you have all the answers to your questions and they've seen what they need to see you're going to be like do you think it makes sense for us to kind of work together like would that be cool would you benefit from having this do you think that you would make way more money if I was working with you and writing all kinds of different copy once you get a yes to that question then you're ready to move forward they're usually going to be the one to ask you about price they'll usually say like all right well like what's this going to cost and the way you want to structure is basically just outline everything that you're planning on doing and make it sound as busy and big as possible so you can say like all right well I'm going to write three emails a week for you I'm going to make sure these a banger emails going to make sure that every single one of them is converting or engaging people in some way I'm going to be doing daily short form scripts for you I'm doing an SMS a couple times a week and I'm going to have like literally a finger on the pulse of this side of the business so I can make sure that you are making as much money as possible and for all that it's just going to be three grand a month and if you make the stuff that you're going to do sound big enough for the client three pay a month is not going to be that much to them remember what I said at the beginning you want their pain to cost more than the thing that you're charging so talk about how much money you're going to make them D and then just be like yeah 3K a month you can negotiate on price a little bit but you usually won't have to like sometimes they'll be like man that's a lot like can we start on like a free trial be like no no free trial cuz I know I'm going to make you money you be like if if you know 3K is a lot right now like there's there's room for if the first month you want to do something a little bit different we can work something out but stay in your ground like don't let your clients bully you B let go best case scenario they they sign they pay 3K a month even for me making multiple five figures a month as a freelancer I do all of my client communication through text messages I used to have slack I don't even do that anymore I text my clients I be like hey what do you want to write an email about they'll be like yo yeah I just dropped this new product it's fire here's what it is you know just I added it to your email you're logged in now write a couple emails about that we want to push that hard be like all right cool and then I'll just write into Google doc copy the link send it to them via text and I'll be like does this look good and they're like yeah rip it and that is what client communication looks like when you're making money as a copywriter most of the time it's super chill the clients you're working with will trust you and they might not even need to approve your stuff one day now for this next part Griff is going to drop some bombs on you like I mentioned in the beginning Griff is as good as a lot of these A-list direct response copywriters he's a Savage when it comes to actually really selling hard with words he's going to give you a lot of value in terms of how to actually write really good copy how to ascend your writing completely and some more in the weed stuff on like how to grow people's businesses before we get into that I want to remind you that all the people that are in this video me Griff Bo Ben we are all coaches inside of a program called the Inner Circle this is my magnumopus the thing I'm most proud of it's a coaching program where we take people who have no experience in copyrighting give them all kinds of resources and help them level up quick you get one-on-one access to your assigned coach and myself you get daily group calls so you can do Q&A we can do copy review you get a ton of feedback on your stuff a ton of support and that's not even including the 15 hours of course content that we have in there but if you're trying to learn more about that I got a link in the description for you click that but then come back to this video because this is more important what's up everybody my name is Griffin professional copyrighting coach and copywriter extraordinaire you got a little bit of an intro about me from Mason so I'm not going to waste any time I'm just going to dive right into it we're going to be diving deep into the anatomy of how an email works how to write great emails and we're going to move on and talk a little bit about vsls or video sales letters all right so let's get into it let's talk about how to write a great email and the first thing and I think the most important thing is a subject line right what does a great subject line do number one it qualifies right so anybody who you don't want to click on the email shouldn't click like otherwise because they're not going to buy so they don't matter and this is why I'm kind of anti-open rate and I don't talk about it much and I don't even really track it that much is because as long as it's healthy as long as it's not like going to spam you're pretty much all right and so let's say like if it's an Ecom brand or something it's like 20% off all kids toys for example like you want to have this up FR this is obviously a bad example cuz this not this is not a great subject L you don't want people who aren't going to buy kids toys to click this so this is like the thing that qualifies the people who are clicking so first is qualifying second of all is attention grabbing so what you would use is also like you can also call it a pattern interrupt something that they wouldn't normally see in their inbox like something that kind of like breaks the monotony so when when everybody is using subject lines like this where it says 20% off all kids toys you would say uh something like I mean obviously it can it can really vary depending on what you're going for but for example how I I Ed this subject line one time how Rick Harrison could have been a billionaire it's attention grabbing because it's like well why the [ __ ] how could Rick Harrison have been a billionaire if you don't know this is the Pawn Stars guys or the Pawn Stars main guy and this this one did really really well because it looks different you know like it doesn't necessarily you're not exactly sure what it is so it's very attention grabbing the problem is if you use ones that are too like IR relevant like this then you have an issue which is why the next one next thing I'm going to say is relevant let's say you're selling like some kind of info product and you're your subject line is just like this it's attention grabbing but it's irrelevant like it's just random or if you put like PP poo poo like of course that's going to be a pattern interrupt because people aren't used to seeing it but the point is that like it needs to relate somehow and next I'm going to talk about what's called the classified test so one of the greatest marketers of all time Dan Kennedy talked about how if somebody just saw your headline in the class ified section of a newspaper they should immediately be able to know what it is and they should be able to buy just from that for example learn the secret to making 10K a month online this is another good example because it it passes this test it's relevant probably um it grabs attention and it qualifies so anybody who doesn't want to do this won't click it let's go over the the different types of emails especially for info uh for coaching clients so a lot of things you'll see is social proof breaking limiting beliefs handling objections and educating so these are like the four that I can think of off the top of my head I'm sure there's about a million more that I could sit here and think of but these are the ones that I use the most they seem to be the ones that do the best this is social proof is very easy so we can literally write one right now we could be like how Jimmy made 50k in a single month using this uh and let's put a little arrow I like putting the arrow so subject line off rip qualifies relevant it's attention grabbing passes the classified test using this people want to find out what this is right so hey first name I figured I'd show this to you so the big thing with uh with email is you don't really have like as much space as like a full sales page where you can write 9,000 words and just hope for the best so your best thing that you can do is I like to use pictures especially when it comes to social proof and you can like kind of show rather than just tell so you can show and then tell and it just makes the messaging stronger because it makes people figure out what the [ __ ] is actually going on picture is worth a thousand words you know Jimmy joined my program three months ago and you went from working at Chipotle making $3 per year to now making over 50k in a single month his tire life has changed he went from not being able to pay for gas and food in the same week to now sending his mom money every single month because he literally has too much this is all possible because of this would be the mechanism so it would be like whatever and you can do the same if you you just click here to submit your application to the program so later Johnny so you have a little sign off this is obviously really like Bare Bones I can pull in some examples in a second if you guys if if we really want to show that if the editing team doesn't want to gatee keep from you guys we have everything here right we have social proof we broke a limiting belief because the only way you can break these limiting beliefs for people you're not a [ __ ] therapist you can't sit in front of them and be like so why do you think this way the only thing you can do is show them that it's possible for somebody who was like who was doing this so that's why this before before and after scenario works really well is because it's very easy to show people that like if you were this guy right now you could be this guy so we're handling the objection of I can't do this because I'm broke loser who doesn't have what it takes and this is all possible because of the mechanism you would probably expand on the mechanism here too all you have to do is X Y and Z and you can get X result right and then educa and nurturing this one's not really present it doesn't really need to be in all of them because people just want to be inspired right so when it comes to email people will mostly buy or book calls out of EXC right so they just get excited and they're like [ __ ] like this looks really cool I know I can make money off this this is interesting I'm going to book a call or I'm going to buy this thing you don't have that much attention elasticity you're not like they're not sitting there watching a 40-minute video of you where you get to build all this trust and you get to lay the foundation all you can really do is is get people excited and that's that's the point of a great email which is selling the click so what does selling the click mean all that means is rather than trying to sit here and write a thousand words to try and convince somebody this way this way and this way why this is the best business model ever all you need to do is generate enough curiosity where people will just click they know generally what they're getting into so obviously like you can generate curiosity by being intentionally super obscure and not really getting into the details of anything but then you're just getting pure curiosity clicks which is not what you want you want curiosity uh here's the C curiosity plus intent equals sales you don't need to sit here and sell them the entire program or whatever it is you're selling could be anything could be toys could be energy drinks it doesn't matter the point is like your job is to get them get them to the next page intending to buy because you need to realize that anytime somebody opens your email or anytime somebody clicks on your ad or anything like that they're going to that next step with the intention to buy hopefully if you did your job right that is that is how you do things you need to have the you know the CTA and they should know what that means and then they they go and they do the thing that you want them to do it's very simple we're going to head back over to the studio and I'm going to show you guys how to write vsls that convert and so thank you uh let's move on a good email length to go for is typically around 2 to 400 words anything longer and people are going to be like oh what what is even the point of this anything shorter and you're probably not getting enough information across and the goal in those 2 to 400 words is to generate enough curiosity where you're just selling the next step obviously you're going to be selling different things through email it might be e-commerce products might be a low ticket product for an info product client it might be just a book a call but the point is you need to sell the next step people don't need to know all the information before they hit your your funnel which Bo is going to talk about in a second they just need to know enough that they think they might be interested and the rest of the cop is going to do the rest of the job now there's a lot of email marketing nerds out there who will tell you oh there's like these are the stats you need to track you need to look at this and this and this and if this is too low then this is a problem really there's there's a few standards for stats as far as things go so the only things that I think you need to look at are open rate and click rate typical open rate is going to be somewhere between 35 and 50% if it's higher you're doing a really good job if it's lower then you might want to look at that a lot of times if it's lower than 20% that might be another issue and it's another whole technical thing that you have to worry about later you probably won't have that issue you probably won't run into it so the typical rule of thumb if you're going to charge anything for email the most fair and the easiest price to sell is typically one of their backend product so let's say you're working with somebody who sells High ticket coaching and their program is $4,000 you can reasonably charge them $4,000 a month and if you sell one of their products they make their money back on you and I mean if you watch this video you're going to be making them a lot more money than that so you're going to be completely fine now the only problem with that is you can have a few email clients you can get paid pretty well the way I went about it and the way you should probably go about it is you need to be able to write more kinds of copy if you want to make more money and one of the best placs to start is vsls now not a lot of people can write those because they're a little bit longer they take a little bit more skill they take a little bit more brain power but once you get good at that which you're about to you'll be basically Unstoppable and no other copywriter will be able to compete with you on anything except for price now a vs sell is a video sales letter the point of a video sales letter is to get across all of the information the entire sales argument everything to convince somebody to buy your product and the way that you do that is you need to present the information in a way that not only makes people listen all the way through so that they go through the sales process but so that by the end of it not only have you helped them and provided value to them you've also convinced them to buy from you the most important thing with selling any product is having the people watching understand that your product is different in some way and better the way you do that is through differentiation or unique me ISM so a great example is you see all the supplements that are like oh we use this one ingredient from the Amazon that only you have to milk a tire to find it and we have it in our product and nobody else does so that's a unique mechanism this can be applied to info through like certain methods that people name a lot of times this is going to be something you come up with so you got the unique mechanism the dream outcome so what are people going to get out of what you're selling any type of marketing is change work you're selling a transformation you need to have a really clear idea of what that transformation is so that you can tell people not only what they're going to get how they're going to get it you need to understand the audience so you need to know who you're selling to you need to be able to use the language of whoever you're speaking with whether it's young old male female you need to understand their personal pain points what's going to benefit them and lastly you need to tell them what and sell them how a lot of vsls are typically a little bit longer longer format people will only watch all the way through if they believe there's something they're going to get out of it and so in order to make people feel that way you have to provide them actual value nobody watches anything where they're just going to watch a video for 40 minutes and then get a sales pitch at the end nobody does that and so when you're writing vsls you have to have a really clear idea on what you're actually selling the offer so that you can put little tidbits in there so that people can learn so next I'm going to show you a little video where I write you a shorter form vssl just so that you're not sitting here watching me write for like a full 3 hours I'm going to make sure everything's in there that needs to be there and you'll get a good idea of the anatomy of it so here's the general framework I use for vsls just kind of like filled out like I usually just do all this in my brain um so I I kind of just freestyle it but I think this is a good place to start if you've never r one before so we're kind of going to fill out these line by line just as like a fake one so let's say the audience is 40 plus oh 40 plus year old man say their pain points are they fat uh they're struggling they're wow I can't spell either struggling their relationships with their wife they're super busy so they don't have a lot of time their dream outcome is to get that chisel mie star look they relationships get better their people notice them more and they have more status so the thing is a lot of uh a lot of copywriters especially beginning copywriters will go like we'll say this is the dream outcome and it's like okay I have a better physique now that's my dream out or I lose a certain amount of weight or I put on a certain amount of muscle and that's really like only the start of it this is like kind of the next layer the movie star look they get to look like the guys they see in the movies that their wife is like fawning all over their relationships get it better so the people around them start to respect them a little bit more they have more status CU at the end of the day every dream outcome comes down to a certain like biological need right otherwise you're just selling a commodity if you want to sell things that people actually need and you want to make them feel like they need it you have to imply that they're going to get this thing this this high level thing and you can't do that by just saying somebody's going to lose weight you can't let people fill in the blanks for them let's say the product is Fitness coaching for men let's just say Fitness coaching for the sake of argument the unique mechanism is a certain diet training style called Greek god EOD cause for argument so the cause for argument actually let me that first the unique mechanism is something that you do different so if you want to make your product appear different than all the other ones on the market especially Fitness coaching it's a really really crowded Market it's really hard for most coaches to make money the reason they don't is because and I'm going to say this in the most ethical way possible a lot of them try to go too hard off of like the facts the true information the things that you really could find for free if you wanted to and they're essentially just selling accountability which is not that's not a unique mechanism it needs to the best thing you can do is name it and it has to be different somehow so let's say like there's a certain sex set of exercises there's a certain way you do your training uh for example take kinobody he does the reverse pyramid training like anything like that that can make it different and you show results that are getting people the outcome that they that your customer wants that's essentially what you're going for with the unique mechanism because that means you're getting a very specific outcome and the cause for argument is in a similar vein you ever Maybe argu D with like a wife or a girlfriend or a sibling where you get to the point where you're just tired and you're like you don't even know what the [ __ ] you're arguing about anymore sorry for cussing but essentially the cause for argument is like why is it even important that this product exists in the first place why is it important that you buy it right and so for example what that would look like is by tearing down all the other options so for example intermittent fasting doesn't work because it doesn't help reduce Cravings keto doesn't work because it not sustainable and you can the way you do this the way you build a cause for argument is you use facts so for example ketogenesis is not the body's Natural State it was a survival mechanism for ancient meaning it's not healthy meaning we don't want that and then like XYZ training styles are designed to make you look like a bodybuilder when really just want to get like an athlete and you want to have the big round shoulders full chest wide dots whatever so this is essentially what the things that I do in my head before I even dive into anything and once you have this filled out the copy essentially writes itself all you have to do is like be the be the vehicle for the copy to flow out of so in the intro you want to make a big promise uh so you'll go into I'm going to try and make this fles hey my name is Greg and I since you clicked on this page age I'm about to change your life for the better so you just want to set the tone a lot of times for the most of the people that you guys will be writing for it'll be people who are coming from social media already like the person you're working with you don't have to go into a huge spiel about like how the world's going to end if they don't buy your product like nobody likes to feel bad so it's better if you can make them feel good and and get them excited about what you're about to say like I say people if you if they want to watch through the whole thing if they're going to watch through the whole thing you have to make sure that there's something that they're going to get out of it that they're not just going to sit here for 40 minutes and feel bad about themselves now I say 40 minutes for the sake of time and for the sake of not wasting yours I'm not going to make this a 40-minute vssl I'm just going to make sure that everything is in place so that you actually understand what's going on you have something you can kind of work off of and uh it'll probably end up if it were to be written or if it were to be read out loud it probably about be about 10 minutes I guarantee you they're going to speed it up in editing so let's see how that goes and now we WR okay so essentially what I'm doing here um I just I'm sure they probably skip through the time there because you guys don't want to watch me WR is we're depersonalizing the negative so a lot of times the biggest mistake that copywriters make is they see the old school direct response stuff where it's like you're going to die you're going to be eating bugs the world economic forum is coming for you the elites are coming the puppet like there's all this like really negative language the thing is it's possible because you want to be able to call out these pain points right you want to be able to do that but in order to get that across without completely turning people off it has to be I see how I'm saying men over 40 men over 40 they they they they they anything where it's negative um is if you say you then you're suddenly you're immediately turning people off and they they don't want to listen to you anymore and so in order to have people feel like they're being heard and listened to then you have to be able to like let them s identify with this um so this is essentially just the intro what we're going to do next is establish Authority and I'll I'll dive into a little explanation about that a secondment so essentially what I'm doing here is I'm just putting a little bit of social proof so you want to show that you're if I'm a fitness coach I want to show that I'm a good Fitness coach by showing all the people who have done what I'm saying I can do for people so right here you're calling out more of the point the pain points the benefits the dream outcome like all of that has to be just littered all around here and so what I would do is I would for the sake of saving time um because it's not going to help you anymore um what I would do is you can just take a couple layers of social proof and throw that in so this is how you would essentially layer or all of the above like you would you would write a couple different uh pieces of social proof here uh just give more validation obviously like you're going to have more uh testimonials than just John ideally and so next this is where we kind of tease the mechanism you want to be kind of careful with these terms like shred fat and uh pack on muscle like you want to use these like these terms that make people really feel it it's very visual language when you say shred fat you can really see what that looks like when you say pack on F it's like you know like this it's very obvious like it's very Visual and so that's what you want to do people can't see what you're saying in their mind if they can't paint that picture in their brain uh then the words mean nothing to them so let's keep going okay so very key thing here is I said um a lot of this is about wasting time wasting energy so everybody there's there's three resources that are limited for people right you got time you got money and you got energy so ideally these are people who are busy they don't have a lot of time they're fat so their energy is probably pretty low I mean you're trying to get money from them so you're kind of just praying that that's not what their bottleneck is if it is they're not going to buy for you but that's kind of what we have here so we're calling out these things uh so that people will give us money basically so we we got the without outs leave that out okay Discovery story so this is going to be a shorten version of a discovery story but I just want you guys to get the idea so what I'm doing here is I'm I'm calling out these real I'm making this really painful story and the goal is to make it so that anybody feels like they can relate to it and a lot of times there's going to be a discovery here it'll be like the light bulb moment right so it could be meeting a mentor it could be finding a certain piece of information on the internet it could be anything so this isn't something you have to do in every vsl it's just something that I like to do a lot it's like this dialogue right where it's like the the back and forth the conversation between these two guys where he he gives them this huge thing this big Discovery and this has to be something that creates the unique mechanism that really makes people go oh this is different like these people aren just lying to me to get me to watch this stupid [ __ ] video so they can submit their coaching but next is like okay so this is what we call um future pacing right so a lot of times if you tell people not all not only if you tell people that this is going to happen to them not only is it non-compliant and you're going to get a class action lawsuit or the FTC after you but it's also just like it really makes it sound like you're trying to sell them something you always see that smooth talking salesman at the uh car dealership who's like oh this is what you're going to have this and this and this and that's great it's possible to do like it's not it's not a terrible thing it just hits so much harder when people when you let people kind of identify with it themselves and do them math themselves that's kind of what we're going for here we don't want to uh just promise people a world and then deliver them nothing we want people to be able to know what's possible and then extrapolate what that can do for them themselves so yeah keeps you safe from the law and helps you sell a little bit better okay so this is where you say the big promise what you can do is you can be like yeah you can do this this and this but I think it's just important to be compliant and a lot of times especially with um in organic audience you don't really need that much like you can kind of get away with less I'm not saying you should do that I'm just saying for the sake of time and for the sake of sitting here you watching me write this I'm just going to try and give you the most important key points and that's what we're going to do so next okay so this last little bit here is the CTA so I told you at the beginning of this video that it was going to change your life which is why now I'm going to make you an you can't refuse tell them about the button and then what I'm doing right here is I'm setting the expectation so you'll have the chance to book a compl completely free consultation call with a member of my team will help you diagnose your personal problems with your physique and give you an actionable plan to help you improve your body your relationships and your life so pretty much every product like this there's going to be a sales call or they're going to get on with a sales rep and it's going to there's going to have to be some expectations set so basically what we're doing here is we're just making people making sure people know what's going on we're making sure that they're they have a good mindset going into it and the way a lot of these go is um you want to be able to give enough value in your marketing your sales where people could feasibly do these things on their own um and they just don't want to they want to work with you so but if you want to get the exact same results as I made up all these names but let's just pretend I was using the social proof the entire time then go ahead and click that button uh you'll be given the chance to work see uh give the chance have the chance like a lot of these types of verbs like it makes it seem like people are like pulling one over on you basically oh you don't have to twist my arm to work with me as a fitness coach like you don't want to like make it seem like you're selling them because this is the biggest thing is uh you want to make people make it seem like people are coming to you to buy you're not going to them to sell they came to watch this video so they could learn how to build their physique how to get better relationships whatever it is you're giving them that opportunity they want that thing so you're just giving them the chance to buy and yeah that's essentially how it works um obviously all of these parts could be expanded but the goal of this is not to give you an entire vssl that you can just go and swipe the point is to give you a good framework that you can work off of and kind of just understand understand how it works and the the anatomy of it so yeah there you go now you've seen that now that you know how to write a vssl here's how I typically pitch them so especially if you've already written emails for a client if you're seeing conversions are slowing down like people aren't buying the product as much it's probably not the email it's probably something else and the better you're able to diagnose these issues the more money you're going to get paid a lot of times it's going to be something else like the vssl or the sales letter the funnel they're going to like you're about to hear about from B if you're already working with a client you reach out to them entrepreneur to entrepreneur and tell them that there's a problem that we can fix together and you're constantly working on something so not only are you able to get paid more but they're also enticed to work with you for longer because you're always working on something new so being able to actually write copy that sells is the most important skill and not always are you going to be getting the easy sales everybody thinks the money is in the easy sales it's not the money is in the 99% of people that don't buy from you because those are the people that everybody's fighting for if you're working with somebody who has a big brand you're going to be able to sell products no matter what the only thing that will ever move the needle is how good at copy you are and the better you can get at converting to people who don't want to buy originally that's what's going to make you rich forever so that's why it's important to learn the short form stuff the long form stuff everything in between so that you're able to be as much of a Swiss army knife as possible and get paid the highest amount once you learn these things you will never struggle to find clients you will never struggle to make money for those clients and you'll never struggle to sell yourself stick around for a few minutes cuz you're about to hear from Bo on some of the most important mechanical things that you can do for clients you're going to learn what types of funnels there are how to build them and most importantly probably for you watching how to sell them how to make money from them so here she is what's up guys I'm Bo I've been a freelance copyrighted for under a year and been able to scale past $70,000 per month with only working with myself not Outsourcing anything and I'm going to teach you how I built supplementary skills so I can make my clients more money I'm going to go over what I think is one of the most beneficial supplementary skills you can learn how to build funnels why they're important different types of funnels how to even structure a little bit of your client's offers and go over automations I'm also going to go over how I structure my deals and how I can charge my clients one single client $40,000 a month and why they they're okay doing it because of everything I do for them I'm going to teach you guys how you can get the most money out of your clients but with different deal structures all right so jumping into things today I want to talk about funnels and the reason I want to talk about funnels is because this is initially what helped me scale past $20,000 per month as a copywriter so I basically had two options to make more money that was either one get more clients doing the same email marketing stuff or two stack my skills and offer another service to my current clients so I thought it was easier for me to just add a skill that I could offer to my current clients than it would be for me to go get five more clients so that's what I did I learned how to make build funnels and learned how to do them really well so there's all sorts of funnels there's you have webinar funnels there's a call booking funnel there's um you know High ticket offers there's mid ticket offers low ticket offers and all of these will probably have different funnels you know maybe you just want to collect emails and collect a bunch of leads that's going to be a separate funnel than something where you're going to have a coaching program okay and because I already had these clients and understood their business model I could already tell what I needed to implement in a funnel to kind of close the leaks in their business so I was already able to understand the business model and I already knew kind of the back end of stuff and how we could build a funnel and what made sense for a client so a funnel is just a better way to kind of capture an audience and turn those turn that audience into a bunch of buyers and with a funnel you're basically just able to plug a bunch of leaks into in a business so just let's Jump Right In so the main software I use to build all my funnels is clickfunnels there's other platforms like go high level you can make a funnel but I prefer clickfunnels it's just the easiest for me and I keep it the same with all my clients and just makes it really easy so as you can see on my screen there's all sorts of different funnels that you can use it to collect emails you can use it to sell your product you can use it to host a webinar you can do like create your own custom funnel honestly just like go into the software go into clickfunnels look at all these different types of funnels there's like product launches there's like a tripwire funnel a salesletter funnel webinar funnel all all different sorts of funnels right so I'm going to review um a funnel for this guy Rob he uh so this is for his he has a high ticket offer so essentially what that is is usually just some sort of coaching program mentorship something like that and they pay thousands of dollars to get access to that okay and honestly there's a lot lot of different ways you can structure your funnels but what's going to matter most is the audience so are they cold warm hot where are they coming from and to the offer so again like I said this is an example of a funnel for a coaching program that is thousands of dollars so obviously they're not going to just go on this page and then most people are probably not going to be able to just drop 3,000 5,000 $10,000 on a coaching offer you're going to have to build trust with them and so that's why you'll see with these higher ticket offers there's probably going to be some sort of vssl then there's probably going to be an so we want to qualify these leads and people that come to the site so we don't want to just let anybody hop on a call because they might not be qualified maybe they're one not ready maybe they don't they're not financially qualified maybe they honestly just like maybe the program just like isn't a good fit for them so let's let's look at this uh so usually you'll have a headline that's solid um some funnels you can have like a sub headline so you know like the proven Playbook to launching your passion project get handheld from0 Z to 100K I'd put a dollar dollar on there um 0 to 100K plus by the best in the game and then a sub headligh would be something like without wasting time or without some sort of like pain Point um you don't have to but that's just a thought there and then yeah vssl 18 minutes or 17 minutes long I'm not going to go through all of that but I think Griffin just went over that so you should know how to script the vssl some a little bit of urgency here before this button that says yes I want to apply and what you should notice is like there's a headline of vssl and most importantly there is is a CTA so this button yes I want to apply is top of fold so top of fold is anything on your screen that when you land on the page you can see so I don't have to scroll to go find the call to action which is yes I want to apply so then if we move down what is Amazon FBA and why should you use it or why should I use it so just telling you a little bit about the program why do you need it that's solid so for a coaching program when you get coaching or like direct access where you're going to want to do is you have to sell the person on the business model so that's why right here it says what is Amazon FBA and why should I use it you're also going to need to sell them on why they need your program you're probably going to have to sell them on yourself why you should be the one teaching them and the program itself so then we keep scrolling success stor so just a bunch of case studies testimonials it looks like that's solid then another call to action more screenshots and then down here it says so what's what's included in the FBA millionaire Academy and then basically telling you everything you're going to get or what you're going to learn when you join so let's just go through this funnel oh wait there's some more and then who is Rob Oliver so like I said before to be able to have people spend money with you they have to like no and trust you they need to understand the business model they need to believe in the business business model they need to believe that they should be the be learning from you and you should be the one to teach them and then they need to make sure that they actually think they can believe it okay so let's go through the funnel click here to apply so with a high ticket program or coaching offer again you're going to have the first page it's going to be some sort of vssl um the length of the vsl will kind of depend then I would send them to some sort of type Form application where you can qualify or disqualify your leads and then based on those answers you can then go into you can let them book a call with your sales team or book a call on cly let's just uh start this please complete this quick application so this is the application so you usually want to obviously you need to collect their name email phone number then I would also ask them some sort of question that's going to be like what is your current experience with X business model so this just shows you this is asking what's your level of e-commerce experience zero some maybe a little bit and then establish so I'm just going to say I have zero Ecom experience this is helpful for the sales team and for you to just like keep qualifying your um your leads so here we go this is where it's asking if I have enough money to invest okay yes I have the money um so that's probably a qualifying question so I I'll go through this twice just so you can see like if I answer yes I have money where it takes me and if I answer no where it takes me so if we both agree it's is a good fit ASAP I want to start right away do you have a business partner spouse that is involved in the decision- making process if the answer is yes please make sure they attend yes after you answer this question you you will be prompted to set up a called team member are you planning on booking a free FBA millionary call and attending the scheduled meeting yes so last step schedule your strategy session okay so as you can see I can I can uh go next and then I would book a call with the team but let me go back and show you what would happen and I'm not even sure if he has the set up so let me see if I say no to the question and can't afford something that's $10,000 where it takes me okay so again this is the financial question I'm going to say no and then I'm going say ASAP um um yes yes submit okay so it looks like for his funnel he still lets you schedule a call even if you say you don't have money so depending on how much traffic is going to the funnel you're going to have a lot of people be able to schedule a call that aren't necessarily financially qualified that will kind of just depend on the offer and the person's funnel um but with some mind like if they answer no I'll redirect them to another offer so basically a down sell all right now that you understand what a funnel is let's talk about the automations that need to be set up for a successful funnel okay so I'm going to show you how I would set up automations for a different funnel just because the last like a call booking funnel is going to have to do with more automations in like the CRM so or something like that so here we have this funnel yes send me it okay so how do you even set up a funnel like this so again what I would do is go to click funnels um um just go to application or let's just do video sales letter funnel you select that and then like the design can be super simple just build a new one create custom funnel test um build funnel and then on click funnels it gives you just a bunch of templates let's just pretend that we are going to build a some sort of lead magnet funnel okay so what that's going to do is just collect a bunch of emails and like information so once you build out a funnel like this when you get when you are collecting information you're going to want to there's a lot of automations you're going to need to set up let's just run through what you would do to set up the automation so you would go to zapier and all zapier is is a way to connect different softwares so if somebody gives me let's say they go on click funnels and they submit their information I want that to connect to my email service for so I can send them emails and nurture them a little bit so what you do all you do is go to click funnels okay and then you go to different events so it could be new contact activity new failed purchase new successful purchase okay let's just pretend I bought something on clickfunnels okay so let's say we want to track our purchases when somebody buys something from us okay so you would go to new successful purchase in clickfunnels classic and what you do new successful purchase and then you connect your account um and then let's say we use convertkit for our email service provider all you would do is go to event let's say we want to tag those purchasers so we want to be able to tell who's bought from us and what they've bought from us so you would do add tag to subscriber continue and then as you can see you would tag them um you would select the tag you want and then um then you just have to input their email first name and phone number if you're collecting that and that's how you would set up a zap like that and honestly like doing automation is a little bit annoying but it's what's going to be what's going to allow you to make more money and become more valuable to your clients okay so for example one of my clients we have a we have a product that's $29 we sell it so I'm going to walk you through the automations of what we have set up so it's just click funnels what you would do is edit okay so the app event is new successful purchase in clickfunnels you connect the account the trigger would be you'll select the funnel you want to um you want to track or you want to be connect so we would do collect the funnel and then the funnel step order form um then you would test it okay everything looks good and then let's say we use convert kit for our email service writer so we wanted to be able to track purchasers and then maybe we're sending them like a thank you for joining thank you for your purchase email and like giving them access so you would just connect to the account again and then the action would be um you would create a tag in your email service provider um so we did $1 funnel purchaser and then all you have to do is go to clickfunnels on zapier and you just input the information you collect from clickfunnels so all you're doing is transferring information from one software to another so you can just search we want email and then first name first name continue continue and then our product is hosted on something else called teachable um but wherever you're hosting your products that's you're going to want to give them access once they purchase so this is another way um app event when they purchase enroll in course account connect and then what course are you giving them access to in our case so we're giving my access to this one again just put in their email and their phone number and press continue and then test steps if everything looks good there then you're good so then if you wanted to send some sort of email email flow this is what You' do in convert kit what I would do is probably do add new Ru when so this is the trigger when someone is tagged whatever you want then you would subscribe them to a sequence and then you would select the sequence you want to do so when you go to in convert kit specifically you would do sequences create new sequence so text then you create whatever flow email flow or drip sequence you want um so here's a subject line test test um and then we would want to send this one day or immediately um so that's how you build a sequence test um and then over here that's where add another email so let's say you wanted to upsell them to another product you would probably do some more case studies or testimonials and then in your third or fourth you would have a CTA of them to go to your next product um so that's that's how I would do it so again rules new rule when someone is tagged whatever our tag is that we want then you just subscribe them to a sequence okay now that I went over how to build a funnel and kind of the automations behind the funnels how do you charge and pitch a funnel so there are a lot of moving Parts with funnels and you can charge business owners you know I've been able to charge one client up to $20,000 plus rev share for a funnel because it is an asset for that business owner they're going to be using this funnel for hopefully a super super long time um and it could make them a million dollars you know so that's why you're able to charge that much so there's a couple different ways you can charge you can do you know a onetime setup fee plus rev share um which I recommend so rev share is just any a percentage of the amount of money a funnel makes so if the funnel made them $100,000 if you had 10% you would get an e basically a bonus of $10,000 plus whatever that one time set up fee is so that's typically what I do for my funnels or my deal structures for funnel specifically if you don't have as much experience or maybe the person is a little bit hesitant to work with you you you could just do like pure rev share so it's like at no risk for them and then you can basically try to get you know 25% 25 4% 50% something like that of revenue from what the funnel makes another deal structure would be let's say you're trying to work with a Creator that's making $100,000 per month they already have some sort of funnel but you want to implement another funnel and let's say they're they're consistently doing 100K you can basically say it's going to cost x amount for a onetime setup fee and then 10% after the first $100,000 um that cuz since they're already doing that consistently you can basically say anything after $100,000 I get this per or there is a way to just track it through hyros or Revenue tracking software where you can determine what money is coming from what funnel so a couple different ways to track that so deal structures that I currently use with my clients are some sort of onetime set up fee plus rep share for x amount of day so you could do $10,000 one time set at fee plus 10% for the first 30 days of a product launch so typically I charge usually like anywhere from $110,000 for one time setup fee to $115,000 for one time set fee it just kind of depends how much rev share you are able to get with a client so I I do this most consistently with like a webinar funnel so if I if I build out the entire funnel script the presentation all that I basically charge $10,000 and 10% for my clients for x amount of days and then after that they're going to have all these leads and they're they're going to be wanting to send emails okay so that's how you can kind of go from I'm charging them $10,000 for this onetime fee but then after that I'm going to charge them $3,000 and get on some sort of email retainer for them so when you're pitching clients obviously they're going to have questions they might ask you do you have a guarantee what are the expectations how how much money do you think I can make with this I'm basically at the point where I can tell them this is my experience with somebody in your Niche or how much we've been able to do with the same system or same funnel if you're not able to leverage case studies I would basically just give them some sort of soft guarantee where you're going to continue working with them until they arei and then so once you build out a funnel and hopefully that goes really well you have probably built a lot of trust with that client and so the way I've been able to scale so quickly is because I do a funnel for somebody and then I have to run their email and keep optimizing the back end there's a lot of things all go that go into running a back end like doing all the automations managing softwares that your creator or your person or your client is not going to want to do themselves and might not even know how and so that's how you can still get them on retainer to do like email maintenance of all the softwares optimizing all the softwares you can also pitch just like split test vsls split test headlines split test like design of the funnel so there's a lot of things where you can turn a one-time service like a funnel into a retainer clients and honestly if you can just figure out a way to run the back end for your clients so they can just focus top of funnel focus on posting content that is a huge stress relief for them and you become really valuable and are able to get a percentage of their business and again the reason I really liked rev share deals is because it keeps you incentivized as a service provider so you know maybe there's going to be so many deliverables in a funnel but some things just kind of pop up and it just like needs to be optimized So you you're just going to go do that because it's going to fill a gap that will in turn make you more money or make the business owner more money and then in turn make you more money so it just keeps you incentivize you know if I were to tell somebody it's going to be a $50,000 funnel because that's probably what they're going to make or what they can make in a week from that funnel they're probably going to say no so that's a good good way to get on rev share deals all right I'm going to pass it off to Ben who's going to teach you how he's been able to like growth operate and charge clients over $100,000 per month what's up ladies and gentlemen my name is Ben Bader and I run a marketing agency in the info product space you might have seen the term growth operator where you partner up with creators and people that have big audiences and basically run the entire back end of their business I've been doing that business model before was popularized as the growth operator business model so I've scaled to a little over 100k a month with just two team members working with some of the bigger names that you might have seen on the internet I've worked with guys like Sebastian esua Sebastian georgu KT hustles Benjamin S if you guys know basketball DJ SackMan Ganon Baker Jordan Loi a lot of the bigger online personal brands that are selling some type of information so I almost accidentally ended up in this situation where I'm making 100K a month as a kind of glorified copywriter marketing agency owner I originally started as like your typical local lead gen smma agency owner so it's where basically you take a local business and you run lead generation ads for them on Facebook you set up go high level which is a CRM on the back end and help them convert more of those leads so I started in that space and I scaled about 20K a month with about 20 clients I was charging $11,000 per month and it was just a headache the clients that I was working with were not people that are just Savvy business owners a lot of my effort would go into kind of coaching them on their business as a whole and I got to that level and I was like okay there there has to be a better way to do this if I have 20 clients and I'm only making $22,000 a month there has to be a way that I can scale without having to bring on more and more clients and more complexity and hire a bunch of team members and that's when I kind of stumbled into the whole growth operator growth partner model so basically the idea is you partner with somebody who has a big audience on social media and you run the entire backend for them so when I say backend I'm talking about all their funnels all their email copy all their ad copy their video sales letters their webinars and we've helped manage sales teams we helped build crms and basically doing everything for them so that their only job as my client is to make more content they get more eyeballs and we help them convert more of the attention that they're getting I've had clients pay me up to $40 to $50,000 in a single month on a performance share and generally most of my clients are making anywhere from $100,000 a month all the way up to 500 or 600k per month and because they have such a big audience and I'm helping them make so much money they're willing to pay me a 10% to 20% performance share on the money that we're bringing in for them so first let's talk about why somebody would agree to work with someone like me obviously they have the audience that's the biggest asset so why would they give away 10 or 20% of the revenue that's coming in to somebody like me to just help them manage everything on the back end so I've said before all of the best clients are going to make money with or without somebody like me if you have a big enough audience it's nearly impossible not to make a lot of money but the value in bringing on somebody like me to handle everything on the back end is it's the peace of mind and knowing that everything is going to be done correctly and all of the systems are going to work and all the leads that are coming into their business aren't going to be falling through the cracks we're going to make sure that all of the attention that they're getting is being monetized properly so we're able to come in and make our clients 10 20 50 even 100% more than they would make on their own and the thing about info product businesses and coaching businesses is they scale so quickly that it's a good thing and a bad thing it's like the more attention that you get the better and you know you can go from 50k a month to 200k a month really quickly if you just start to get more and more eyeballs on your offer and what that does as you scale is you kind of end up in a situation where everything's kind of pieced together that's what I'll see with a lot of the clients that we end up working with is they'll get to a few hundred thousand dollars a month but then there's gaping holes in their business they're not sending any emails their video sales letter hasn't been updated in two years their sales team is a complete mess so that's where the opportunity for somebody like me has been created to come in and again help them make more money get a percentage of it and that's why they're willing to pay me a doctor's annual salary next I want to be clear on the type of clients that I'm working with and the type of clients that if you watching this want to end up in the position that I'm in where you're able to scale to 50 100K a month with just a handful of clients then you have to be working with the right clients you can't be in the situation that I was in with my initial agency where I was working with 20 clients who are all paying me $1,000 a month it's just a headache and you can't really scale a business that way so the first thing I look for when bringing on a new client is first they need to have a strong audience obviously if they don't have a lot of people who already know like and trust them then there's just no one for me to sell to and my efforts aren't going to go nearly as far for somebody who doesn't have a strong audience versus a scenario where I'm doing the same amount of work with somebody who has a really strong engaged audience and they really know like and Trust the the client as the authority that's where I'm able to come in and immediately make somebody a lot more money and get a percentage of the revenue that we're bringing in for them so generally most of the clients that I'm working with have tens of thousands of followers or hundreds of thousands of followers they already have some sort of email list or somewhere where they're capturing Their audience and they're typically making educational style content around a certain desirable topic so it's almost always going to be within the Realms of health wealth or relationships obviously I've worked with your typical Drop Shipping Guru or Amazon FBA Guru but we've also also worked with dating coaches and basketball coaches and and coaches in the fitness industry and to reiterate the main thing that I'm looking for is a strong personal brand and kind of some area where they are almost slacking whether it's their sales team or their funnels or their email marketing usually there going to be an opportunity for me to come in and improve one thing for them get them a quick win and then immediately make them more money which obviously not only wins their trust but it also puts money in my pocket immediately and then we're able to continue to kind of patch all of these gaps in their businesses and scale with them long term next let's talk about the skills required to end up in the situation that I'm in and basically run somebody's info product business without having to be the face of it you're the guy on the back end that's making sure everything goes smoothly and making sure that they're making the most amount of money possible so first the initial skill that you need is obviously going to be copyrighting it's going to be direct response marketing you need to understand how to get people to take an action if you can't do that then you are basically useless but if you have that skill once you learn copywriting you learn marketing and you just understand marketing psychology now you have a very versatile skill you can take the skill of copywriting and utilize it in multiple different ways you can be writing YouTube scripts for somebody you can be writing short form scripts you can write vssl you can do all their email marketing you can do their followup and their SMS marketing and now all you have to do is basically learn the supplementary skills learn the things that are going to help you as a service provider just patch all of these gaps in an info product business because you have that foundational skill which is copyrighting then you can go and you can learn how to build a CRM or how to manage a sales team or how to use zapier and these are relatively easy and simple skills to learn that's when you go from being a copywriter who can only charge a few grand a month to being somebody who's a full growth partner and you can charge a retainer plus 10% and then that ends up paying you 10 20 50k in a single month so the biggest thing I'll say on this is say yes when you ever whenever you get a new client and they ask you for something that is completely outside of your wheelhouse you've never done it before you're not familiar with it and you're like okay well I'm your copywriter but I don't know how to help with your CRM I don't know how to do a vssl I don't know how to build a funnel if you can just start to kind of to say yes and be in over your head you will figure it out on the Flies these aren't really difficult things to learn you're a few YouTube videos away from being competent at a handful of different skills and then you become more valuable and not only that you become an integral part in any of your clients businesses because most of the time they don't even know what you're doing for them like you're running all of this stuff on the back end and it's like they don't even know how it works because you manage so many different pieces of their business that it's almost impossible for them to no longer work with you so the biggest thing I'll say on the skill set side is get really good at copy understand marketing and then just stack as many different skills as you can learn if you just kind of take this approach where you understand that you're often going to feel like you're in over your head and that's okay and you know that you're going to figure it out on the Fly and you know that if you can just solve more and more problems in your client's business if you can go above and beyond and you know look at their business objectively and be like okay well we're getting all this attention and I'm sending emails for you but the page that I'm sending your emails to isn't really optimized the copy on this page is kind of bad the vssl is bad the social proof is out of date and then you go above and beyond and you're like okay I'm going to fix this for you as well oh the sales team isn't working I'm going to help with the sales process if you just fill all these other gaps you end up taking over the entire back end of their business and then that's when you are completely Irreplaceable and you can scale to 20 30 50 even 100K a month with just a few clients all right so now let's talk about the f fun part how do you actually get clients how do you land a potential $10,000 a month client and what do you say do you just hop on the phone with somebody and you're like hey bro let me take over your entire business obviously that's not how it works so let's talk about how you can find yourself in a position where you're managing somebody's entire info product business so ladies and gentlemen because you clicked on this video and you're watching Cardinal Mason's amazing course I have a present for you I'm going to show you how I got my the the exact message that I sent to get my first growth operator client so one day I was scrolling on Instagram and I saw this basketball trainer who now has 132,000 followers and he posted something on his story about a new program that he was launching and I clicked on the landing page and I noticed that it was horrible and I was like huh maybe I could help him with this so I used this device that you see in my hand here called an iPhone and I sent him a quick voice memo and I said I hope you are doing amazing my man I just saw that you opened back up your mentorship program and I wanted to reach out out um we work with basketball trainers and Academy owners that want to expand some part of their program whether it's just iners stuff or online or so on um so I've been following you for forever my man and I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello and see if you would have any interest in talking more about running some paid advertising for some of your programs appreciate you man okay so as you can see that wasn't the best message ever but this was on November 12th 2021 and because I saw this opportunity and saw an area where I felt like I could help him I reached out I sent a normal sounding voice memo I sounded like a normal person I wasn't like a weirdo in the DMs like hey bro can I please help you out hey you know you can monetize 1% of your audience I was a normal human being so I sent that voice note and then I said hey name just a quick message about your mentorship program and whoever he had managing his DM said thank you for reaching out would love to explore further hit my business development team sent me his email he can strategize with you thanks for reaching out and following along with what we do easy and then I hopped on the phone with them I talked about how I thought I could help and I didn't try and like seem like this expert that knew everything I was just like hey like I know you have this coaching program I see this Gap I think I can fix this for you and I think originally I pitched them on like a $2,500 a month retainer and I ended up working with this client for a little over a year and this basically served as my internship I wasn't like making a ton of money with this client for the entirety of our relationship I was just pretty much on a smaller monthly retainer anywhere from like 2500 to 5K per month but that's when I started to really hone my skills and learn everything I could about the info product space I started with them just by running paid ads I had never run paid ads for an info product before but I was like I'll [ __ ] figure it out and I did and then I started writing all of their email copy and then I built them a new funnel and then I started scripting vsls for him and then I started posting short form content on Tik Tok like I did all of these services for him and again I was probably underpaid but this taught me so much about how info product businesses work as a whole and then I was in a position where like I had a full grasp on how to scale an info Product Company and that's what set me up to go and land clients that are now paying me 20 30 40K per month and have 500,000 followers and and are your typical dream clients like you guys are probably reaching out to the clients that I'm working with and they're coming to me inbound I don't even have to harass them they just come to me it's not necessarily different than how you would picture Services as a copywriter basically when I hop on the phone with a potential client all I do is ask them questions about their business find the gaps that I think we could go and solve and then tell them how I could fix that exact problem and for example I brought on a client recently who has over 500,000 followers on Tik Tok they've got a million on Instagram dream client they were already making roughly half a million dollars a month but then once we got on the phone I realized that they were missing out on a lot of Revenue because they weren't sending emails their sales team wasn't really following up with leads and they had all of these leads in their ecosystem that just weren't really being contacted enough and so for that client I was like okay how can we solve this exact problem that you have so first we dialed in their sales process a bit more and then we started running live webinars with them weekly which you'll learn our entire process for that in Bose modules and because we saw the exact problem that I objectively saw in their business and our very first month working with them we made them an extra few hundred grand and obviously we had a performance share so you can do the math on how much money that made me so you might have heard me mentioned earlier I do almost no outbound for my business I am rarely pitching people in the DMs I almost never send an outbound DM yet I'm still able to work with many of the best clients in the industry and the reason for this is something very simple it's one word called positioning first I have a personal brand of my own I'm posting content I seem like a normal person online it's actually crazy how underrated simply being normal is when I get a pitch from somebody the first thing I do is go to their page go to their profile look at who they are see if they are a normal personable human being that I want to spend my time around and that I would want to do business with and if I go to their page and they look somewhat credible they look even just like a homie I am going to be more willing to hear them out than if I go to somebody's page and they have 69 followers in a black profile screen and maybe they have one picture of them holding a fish like this like you're a [ __ ] grow up so understanding how to Brand yourself online and I don't mean you have to start posting video content tomorrow I don't mean you have to pretend like you're an expert copywriter when you're not but just making yourself look like a normal human being talking like a normal person when you're pitching people or when you have an inbound lead come to you if you can just sound like you are not trying to get something out of them sound like you're not like you don't have an angle then they're going to want to work with you they're not going to feel like like they're being sold to they're going to feel like oh I have this problem in my business and this person comes to me with a solution they seem like a normal person and and they can actually help me out so your reputation is everything so if you want to work with really good clients that are making hundreds of thousands of dollars a month that are willing and able to pay you five figure retainers then you need to understand positioning you need to understand how to Brand yourself online meeting the right people and networking is also going to be your friend and when I say networking I don't mean this in like a LinkedIn dorky type of way but I mean actually just going above and beyond for any opportunity that you see if you can help somebody who is Credible in this space if you can give them any value or help them in any way that's going to open doors for you and put you in the right room and that's exactly what I've done most of my clients are my friends when we start working together or they become my friends after we start working together we almost always have mutuals I can name drop people that they know of they're competitors it's like I am fully in this space and I'm associated with all of these people that they know of or that they're friends with and because of that they see me as an equal they don't see me as somebody who is just trying to get money out of them and pitching them they see me as one of the experts in this space and somebody who can help them scale and it's not going to happen overnight it took me multiple years to build up that credibility but all it takes is one really good case study all it takes is one win you take one client from 10K a month to 50K a month or 50k a month to 200k a month and then you can just Flex that basically forever and then you get another really good client and then you help them scale and then you just rinse and repeat all it takes is one good case study and a whole world of opportunity unlocks for you and what's perhaps the best part about running this type of business outside of the money obviously that it can make you immediately is the skill set that it forces you to have when you are in control of somebody's entire back end then you have to be a jack of all trades you simply have to be versatile you have to have a really strong grasp on how to scale their business as a whole and that's going to serve you in any business that you would ever run after that whether you want to eventually build your own offer or you run a completely different type of agency or who knows maybe somebody eventually offers you like a CMO type role this skill set makes you Recession Proof you can quite literally never be broke again there are three things as a business owner as a copywriter as any type of service-based business owner if you have these three things you will know that no matter what happens you're going to be fine my business could completely collapse tomorrow I I could lose all of my clients my bank account could get wiped to zero my Rolex could get stolen off my wrist and I could lose everything I could be stripped naked in the middle of Bickle City Center but because I have these three things I know I'm going to be okay and those three things are skill set personal brand and network I've developed all of these high value skills that make me valuable to almost any business out there so I have an audience of people who know like and trust me and then I have a network of other business owners that I could hit up and say hey I'm in a tough spot I have this skill set I can come help your business and they're going to be willing to hear me out because I have the skill set and The credibility and that personal brand it starts with the skill set learn copywriting learn the other skills that'll make you valuable to any business and then there's basically no way that you fail it's impossible to fail once you have these high value skills and you have that Network the final element of this is is the way that you perceive yourself if making money seems like this herculan feat to you and you cannot visualize yourself as a type of person who is capable of making money then it will always elude you then you will never become that person who is able to hop on a sales call and confidently charge 10 $20,000 for a single project if
