hi guys today i'm going to demonstrate on how to do a blood draw on an infant patient by hill stick here's our supply we have foot for the infant heel warmer heel stick the needle about 2.5 millimeter we have mic retainer for blood collection alcohol white 2 by 2 gauze bandage first we're gonna warm up the infant heel so you grab the warmer just remove this piece and there is the activator right here so just activate it by breaking it and it turns light green immediately you can see it turn light green and it becomes hard solid it's like ice inside it but it's warm very warm and then you're just gonna put that on the patient's heel you can warm the heel for five to ten minutes in the meantime while that is warming you can open your needle just flip this covering and that's what the needles look like and remove this piece just remove that piece and you throw that away and then you're going to open your alcohol so after the infant's heel is warm just wipe it i outline the area where it's best for heel stick you just wipe it with alcohol thoroughly and of course you're gonna let it dry very dry and then you're gonna aim this angle this arrow right here aim it to the foot you can do your thumb right here this both side so press your thumb right here and put it onto the heel and click you heard it click the needle already punctured the heel so you're just gonna melt the heel you can milk it the way you want and then when the blood starts to flow you just grab this vacutainer um the mic retainer and you're just holding the heel and it's good to have two people to help you one will be milking the heel and one will be collecting the blood and all the blood will be here and you can just drip it up to the limit of the line right there that is required for the analysis and then when you're done you're just gonna wipe it again with a clean alcohol so you have this alcohol you wipe the heel again take the blood off and then you take this two by two gauze fold it twice or three times put it onto the heel and then grab your bandage just take your bandage and put it onto the infant's heel like so there you go and you're done so thank you guys for watching hope you learned something
