Understanding the Structure of a Check

the structure of a check starts in the upper left hand corner and here is the name and address of the account holder to the right of that is the bank and federal reserve district number and in the upper right hand corner of the check is the check number just below the check number is a line for the date the check is written on now to the left just below the account holder information is the payee line where you write in inc the name of the person receiving the check and at the end of the payee line is the amount line where you write in numbers the amount of the check next just below the payee line is a line to write this time in words the amount of the check and just below this amount line is a line that is typically called the memo line where you can write a note for what the check is for to the right of the memo line is a signature line next in the bottom left-hand corner of the check is a bank number called the routing number and the numbers that follow the bank number is the account holder's account number next to the right of the account number is again the check number and finally when the check is processed there will be a number imprinted here in the bottom right hand corner of the check and this number should match the amount the check was written for and that is the basic structure of a check alright my friends hopefully you got something out of this video i do have more videos right there for you till next time i am out of here
